Chapter 14

"Mewtwo, we've sent out our Pokemon to delivery the invitations." A boy's voice stated to the Pokemon sitting in a large chair as it watched Ash battle a slightly muscled trainer.

"The response?" The Pokemon asked in a deep male voice.

Another voice, this time female replied, "They all accepted, but they could overflow this place if they get here easily."

"What will you do, Mewtwo?" The two asked as they stepped forward to reveal Naruto and Ayumi.

The Genetic Pokemon turned around to face them, "I shall give them a challenge. One that will weed down the weak."

"For what you'll be doing, will all we'll be allowed to do is just watch, unseen?" The blond asked.

"You have freed me with no desire of greed and a heart full of respect, but one or two humans that love Pokemon beyond their lives will not cover the mass of humans I despise. Now leave and prepare for their arrival." The psychic type stated with finality as the two young trainers did as they were told.

This had all begun with Mewtwo suddenly appearing before Naruto while he was training Johto.

Flashback

It had been a month and a half after Naruto and Ayumi had split up to start training for the Indigo League, and so far the blond was at a good pace, choosing to head to Johto through the train connecting Saffron City to Goldenrod City and making his way to Mt. Silver. He'd caught and evolved quite a few of his Pokemon, and they were in stunning shape.

"Alright, guys! Time for a break!" Naruto called out as his Pokemon hurried back over to him, "You're making great progress so far, we'll win the Indigo League in no time if we keep going at this pace!"

The Pokemon cheered, but Rhapsody froze as she turned away. "Someone's coming, Daddy."

"Who could that be? James is staying at the lodge."

"An old acquaintance." A family raspy male voice replied as he came down before the Unova native.

Naruto was surprised as the sight, "Mewtwo?! So you escaped?!" The psychic type was now bare of the armor he'd donned the last time the blond had seen him. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw that Mewtwo was still wearing the necklace.

Mewtwo nodded as he looked around, "So the girl... Ayumi is what you called her... is not with you."

"We decided to split up so we could train for the Indigo League, we're friends and rivals after all." The blond explained, "But never mind that. Since you escaped, does that mean you have your answers?"

The Genetic Pokemon glared down at the ground, "Giovanni only saw me as a tool. He did not even see me as a Pokemon or an equal."

"Mewtwo..." Naruto uttered as his and Rhapsody's eyes softened.

"Therefore, other than you, Rhapsody, and Ayumi, all will feel the wrath of my purpose."

"What's your purpose?" Rhapsody asked. Before, Mewtwo didn't even know what a purpose was, so what did he decide his to be?

"I am the clone of Mew, meant to be stronger than the original. If that is so, I will clone Pokemon that have been trained by humans. I will show human and Pokemon alike that none can overpower me. I will become the world's most powerful Pokemon trainer."

"What about us, Mewtwo? Will we face your wrath?" The blond asked calmly, prepared for any answer.

The psychic type shook his head, "No, you opened my eyes, so you and your friend shall be spared, but in return, I need your assistance."

"With what?"

"While I remember the blueprints of the cloning machine in the island in which I created, I require materials to restore it, eyes to decide powerful trainers, envoys, and a proxy. You and Ayumi will help."

Naruto thought it over, while Mewtwo was understandable upset, he was going about things the wrong way. "I promised I'll help Mewtwo, and I always keep my word. But I want you to give humans a chance, okay? Even if it's just Ayumi and I, that's a start. We're not all bad guys, I hope you'll see that."

Mewtwo stared before nodding, "Very well. You have shown me kindness, with that you, Ayumi, and your Pokemon companions shall be spared."

The Unova native smiled before going onto his Holo Caster to call Ayumi. "Hey Naruto, what's up?"

The call was currently on audio only, so Naruto knew that the silverette couldn't see him or Mewtwo, "Not much, just keeping my promise. Mewtwo wants our help."

Instantly, it went to video as a hologram of the beaming albino breeder appeared, "Why didn't you say so sooner?! Tell me where you are, and I'll be there faster than a Deoxys!"

Glancing over to the Genetic Pokemon, he asked, "Well Mewtwo, can you guide us to that island?"

"I shall take you there myself."

"Huh? Who-whoa!" Suddenly both the blond and the silverette that were in different locations were lifted and sent flying as Mewtwo took them to the island with Rhapsody not far behind.

It had taken a month for the island to be reconstructed and to have the two trainers send out their Pokemon to scope out good trainers. They even took Nurse Joy to be the official proxy; they knew that Mewtwo had done it so Ayumi and Naruto wouldn't face possible consequences, and they were grateful. Now everything was set in motion as it was now time to begin Mewtwo's plans.

"Naruto, do you think his opinion is wrong? After what he's been through, being used by Team Rocket's leader the way he was?"

"I don't think his hatred is misguided, it's the way he's doing it." Naruto answered as he stared at his Poke-ball, "Hopefully he won't take things out of hand."

Ayumi only stared at the floor, "I hope so."

It wasn't long until the first trainer, a girl by the name of Neesha that came, using her Dewgong to make it through Mewtwo's storm, arrived. Quickly donning what Mewtwo had given a Nurse Joy he'd taken to wear with blank white masks on their faces and hiding their hair, they greeted in a monotone voice when she presented the invitation, "Welcome to New Island, Neesha. Until the other trainers arrive, please bring out all of your Pokemon."

"Who are you two?" The girl asked as she did as she was told. "Are you guys like butlers or fellow trainers?"

"It is none of your concern." Ayumi blankly stated before the two walked away.

Neesha frowned as she sat down after the doors were shut, "Way to be rude to your guest."

Naruto took his mask off as soon as they were far out of the room. "It's going to be a long day." He sighed.

"Yeah, looks like Mewtwo created a storm, according to how Jessie complained about it a few seconds ago." The silverette commented as she looked through her messages in her Xtransceiver.

"How are they doing?" The Unova native asked. The younger trainers had left Jessie and James, saying that they would be away for awhile, but they would call.

"They kept an eye on Ash and the others, apparently after his battle, a Dragonite came and gave him an invitation to something and he said yes. They intend to follow them." Ayumi replied. "Looks like Nurse Joy will have to handle the greetings."

Naruto nodded, "That's fine, we have to check on those Pokemon's conditions anyway."

"Right." The silverette nodded as they went on their way.

"Looks like they're all okay, and that the trainers that could make it are here." The albino breeder informed. "I'm a little disappointed so few made it, though."

"You really can't underestimate Mewtwo's storm." The blond nodded, "We better go set up the stage and get ready for his entrance."

Walking back to the room with their masks back on their faces, they missed Jessie and James sneaking back over to the room they had been in. The trainers were a boy that arrived on his Gyrados, Fergus , a boy that flew on his Pidgeot, Corey, and Ash and his friends.

Ayumi and Naruto ignored them as they took their place at the staircase at the opposite side of Nurse Joy as she announced, "You are about to meet my master. The time has come for your encounter with the world's greatest Pokemon master on Earth."

The Pokemon were obviously sensing the power of whoever would descend the stairs as the growled, roared, and in Pikachu's case, climbed onto Ash's shoulder.

As Mewtwo finished his descent, Naruto stated, "That's right, the world's most powerful Pokemon trainer is also the world's most powerful Pokemon."

Ayumi continued, "This is the ruler of New Island, and soon to be the whole world, Mewtwo."

The trainers were stunned as Fergus yelled, outraged at the thought, "A Pokemon can't be a Pokemon Master! No way!"

"Quiet human. From now on, it is I who makes the rules." Mewtwo stated as he still used Nurse Joy's body to speak.

"How's it talking?!" Misty exclaimed, surprised that the Genetic Pokemon could speak.

"It's psychic!" Brock declared as Mewtwo confirmed it as he used Psychic to lift the boy that had made the comment high into the air before throwing him into the fountain with his Pokemon.

Fergus was rash as he angrily yelled, "We'll show you! Let's go, Gyrados! Hyper Beam attack!"

The Atrocious Pokemon did as commanded as it launched the attack, only for it to be redirected back to the Pokemon.

Mewtwo smirked, "Child's play." He glanced over to Nurse Joy as he released his control over her, "Your usefulness has ended."

Nurse Joy staggered forward with Brock catching her as she fell and regained consciousness, "Where am I? And how in the world did I get here?"

"You have been under my control. I transported you here from the Pokemon Center. Your knowledge of Pokemon physiology proved useful for my plans, and I have cleansed your tiny human brains of your tasks."

Ash stared between Nurse Joy and the two masked figures as he asked, "If you took Nurse Joy, does that mean you took these two as well?!"

"You're wrong about that."

"We willingly agreed to help."

"Who are you?!" Neesha yelled, wanting her question answered.

The monotone voices became filled with emotion as the two laughed, "Knowing who we are won't do anything." A familiar female voice chided.

"But I suppose we might as well reveal ourselves." A male voice stated as they both put their hands on their masks.

Misty instantly recognized who they were as she gasped, "No way..."

Taking of the masks to reveal Naruto and Ayumi, the blond grinned, "Yes way, and I promised that I would help Mewtwo with his goals."

"Don't forget about me." The silverette added.

"Why would you do such a thing?!" Brock asked, shocked at the development.

"I am the new ruler of this world, the master of human and Pokemon alike." The genetic Pokemon replied.

"You're just a bully!" Misty retorted, upset.

Ayumi scoffed, "Like you guys would understand."

Naruto put a hand on her shoulder to stop her, "That's enough, Ayumi. Either way, Mewtwo is stronger than them, so they don't have a chance at defeating him."

"You humans are a dangerous species. You brought me into this world with only the purpose of being my slave, but now I have my own purpose. With this storm, I will create a new world, by destroying your's."

"So you plan to get rid of all the humans to save the Pokemon, but does that mean you'll do the same to Naruto and Ayumi? They helped you with all this, didn't they?" The Pewter City gym leader asked, even though the two groups never socialized with each other much, the younger trainers were still friends.

"What I do to these two are none of your concern, but I will not save your Pokemon. As they are now, they are also slaves to you humans, bound by those Poke-balls and serving humans."

Pikachu protested that Ash was his friend and not his master.

Mewtwo narrowed his eyes at Pikachu's words, "So you are saying I am wrong? You are as pathetic as the rest." Using Psychic once more, he hurled the electric type away, with Ash luckily catching his Pokemon. "Humans and Pokemon can never be friends." Naruto and Ayumi's eyes softened when they heard the words that they knew Mewtwo had been taught and forced to acknowledge.

As Misty ran to Ash, Corey stood as he declared, "If you are a Pokemon, then there's no reason that I can't capture you! Go, Rhyhorn!"

As the Spikes Pokemon charged towards Mewtwo, the Unova native stated, "I don't think so. Rhapsody!"

"Mel letta!" In an instant, the Meloetta appeared to heed her father figure's call as she used a powerful Psychic of her own to send Rhyhorn sliding across the dining table.

The Genetic Pokemon scoffed while Rhapsody took her place on Naruto's shoulder, "Fools. Your Pokemon's attacks cannot weaken me, my powers are too great. No trainer can conquer me."

"Then you won't mind proving it in a real match!" Ash yelled.

"Is that a challenge?"

"You bet it is!"

Mewtwo's eyes glowed blue as he used his psychic powers while the two foreign trainers were messing with a device in the back. The ground not too far away from the Genetic Pokemon to reveal Blastoise, Venusaur, and Charizard, but these ones had strange markings to them. "Like most trainers, I too, began with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, but for their evolved forms, I used their genetic materials to create even more powerful copies."

As the guests were stunned at the fact that Mewtwo's Kanto starters clones, the ground shook the door behind the Genetic Pokemon, Naruto, and Ayumi revealed a massive stadium as lights filled the field.

"Mewtwo planned this all along!" Brock announced, surprised as Corey ran up forward.

"Your fake Venusaur can't beat my real one! Right, Brute Root?"

Neesha agreed as she yelled, "We'll blow away that Blastoise, won't we Shell Shocker?!"

Ash added as he held out a Poke-ball, "It may not have a nickname, but I do have Charizard!"

The Sinnoh native looked away as she muttered, "Taiyou would be a better opponent than that arrogant Charizard." After all, the clone Charizard was mostly made from Naruto's Charizard's genetic material.

Proving her point, as soon as the boy from Pallet let out his fire/flying type, it immediately launched a Flamethrower at Mewtwo with Naruto and Ayumi standing behind him not far away.

The attack, however, did no good as the clone of Mew used the surrounding water to extinguish the flames. "Your Charizard is poorly trained." Mewtwo commented.

Neither Pokemon nor trainer enjoyed that comment, but Naruto stated, "Alright guests, are you going to keep picking fights? Or are you going to get to the stadium to battle Mewtwo and the others?"

"We'll be the referees, now let's get moving, shall we?" Ayumi added with a polite smile, "You're already here, so we'll drag you to battle field if we have to."

When they finally took their places at the battle field, Mewtwo asked, "Which of you will oppose me first?"

The real Venusaur padded forward as its trainer announced, "I may have underestimated you before, but that won't happen again!"

As Mewtwo gestured for his Venusaur to step forward, the Unova native took his place, "Round one is a match between Corey's Venusaur and Mewtwo's Venusaur! Let's see which is stronger!"

As the real Venusaur used Razor Leaf, it was easy destroyed with the copy Venusaur's Vine Whip as it used the vines to lift the real one and throw it out of the field.

"Looks like Mewtwo's Venusaur is stronger! Only natural, I guess." The albino breeder declared. "Who's next?" Curious if the girl was going to face the copy of her Blastoise.

"It looks like I'm up next, get him, Shell Shocker." Neesha said as her Blastoise stepped forward with the clone Venusaur switching places with clone Blastoise.

The real Blastoise's Hydro Pump was no match for the clone Blastoise's Rapid Spin as it too sent the real version flying into the wall.

Naruto was disappointed, "A little too easy, think you can create a challenge Ash?"

"You better forfeit, Ash!" Misty yelled, "Those clones are too powerful!"

The match between the two Charizard lasted longer than the other two, but Charizard was ultimately defeated. The blond felt bad for Ash, but glanced over to the copy of his Charizard, "Good work, Sun. If only I could say it out loud." "It's obvious that Mewtwo has won!"

"As the victor, I now claim my prize, your Pokemon!" The Genetic Pokemon announced as he released strange looking Poke-balls that started capture the trainers' Pokemon, save Rhapsody.

"What do you plan to do with them?!" Misty asked as she demanded an answer.

"I will extract their D.N.A. to make more clones, they will remain safe on this island with me while my storm destroys the planet."

"You can't do this!" Brock yelled, appalled as Ash ran forward.

"Yeah Mewtwo! We won't let ya!"

The blond winced as he watched Mewtwo send the boy from Pallet flying into Brock before he and Ayumi walked over to Mewtwo as the trainers tried to keep their Pokemon from being captured.

"Why haven't you admitted the reason that we're involved, Mewtwo?" Naruto asked quietly, but doubted that the others could hear in their panic.

"I will not allow them to see that I am contradicting myself, showing that you are my... friends." The Genetic Pokemon stated, "Nevertheless, those humans have no hope in escaping my power."

He was right as Ash's group's attempts at keeping their Pokemon safe failed, save for Misty's Togepi, as they too were ultimately caught and sent away to the cloning chamber.

"Pikachu's the last one." Ayumi commented as she watched Ash struggle with all his might to keep his Pokemon from being captured.

"It can't keep running forever." The whiskered blond stated reluctantly, he didn't like watching trainers being torn away from their Pokemon this way, but there wasn't anything he could do.

They watched as Ash frantically followed behind even after the electric type was caught and went down into the hatch leading to the cloning chamber.

"Shouldn't we stop him?" The albino breeder gasped, the Pokemon were going to be completely safe throughout the process of obtaining DNA, but if the trainer did something reckless down there...

"Worry not. That boy won't be able to interfere with my goals."

Ayumi's Xtransceiver beeped not too long after to alert that there was a malfunction with the cloning machine, due to external forces. "Oh no, I have to let the clones out before they get affected!" She exclaimed as she remotely ordered for the clones to be let out from their tubes.

"The originals?" Naruto asked.

The beeping went dead after it made a pinging sound to signify that it exploded, "The Poke-balls kept them safe, I'm assuming they're also being let out at this moment."

"Naruto! Ayumi!" The two turned to face Misty and Brock.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you helping Mewtwo?!"

"It's going to destroy human and Pokemon alike, including you!"

The Unova native shook his head, "You wouldn't understand. We promised to help Mewtwo when he when he freed himself, and we're keeping our word. No matter how we feel." Naruto's eyes saddened with Rhapsody petting his cheek to comfort him.

"What about that necklace around Mewtwo's neck? Did one of you give it to him?" Misty asked, finally noticing the crystal necklace around the psychic type's neck.

"Be more concerned with your fate of soon being destroyed." Mewtwo interrupted, not wanting anything more revealed. Soon an explosion was heard as the clone Pokemon appeared, "Behold, with humans and Pokemon eliminated, clones shall inherit the world."

Through the rubble, another silhouette appeared it stepped forward to reveal Ash with the original Pokemon, "You can't do this. I won't let you."

"Ash..." The blond uttered, feeling respect for the fellow trainer as he marched onward with the original Pokemon trailing behind him and Jessie and James discreetly following behind.

"It won't end like this Mewtwo, I won't let it!" The boy from Pallet turned his cap around as he charged to throw a punch, "You're mine!"

It was just deflected easily as Naruto sighed, "You couldn't have thought that that would've worked, did you Ash?"

"Well at least I'm doing something!" Ash yelled at the blond, "I'm not going to just stand around like you are and let Mewtwo take away my friends! Don't you feel same?!"

Naruto was surprised, the trainer was pointing out what he truly wanted to do, but... "I'm a person of my word, Ash. When I say I'll do something, I'll put my life at risk if I have to."

"Then so will I!" Ash gritted his teeth as he got up to try to punch the Genetic Pokemon again, but this time Mewtwo sent the boy flying far.

"Ash!" Naruto cried out, not wanting him or anyone seriously hurt.

Miraculously, a pink bubble appeared to cushion him. "What?"

Suddenly a pink cat like Pokemon floated over to Ash as it popped the bubble and giggled cutely at Ash's reaction. "No way, it's a Mew..." Ayumi uttered in awe.

At the words of the silverette, Mewtwo stared at the Pokemon, "Can it be...?"

As Mew playfully created another bubble with Psychic and bounced on it, the Genetic Pokemon destroyed it with Shadow Ball, sending Mew a small distance. Mewtwo's second strike was missed as Mew teleported away. Over and over, Mewtwo's Shadow Balls were missing as the New Species Pokemon giggled as though it were a game.

"What is that?" Brock asked with Misty replying.

"I don't know."

"It's Mew." Naruto's voice got their attention. "That's Mewtwo's original."

"Mew... So finally, we meet." Mewtwo stated, ignoring any outside conversation as Mew glanced around curiously, "I may have been cloned from your DNA, but I will prove that Mewtwo is better than the original. Superior to Mew. This world is too small for two of us."

"Mewtwo, you're wrong." Naruto muttered as he looked down with Ayumi agreeing.

"I wish we had talked about this with Mewtwo."

The blond nodded, "The world is big enough for everyone."

As the two Pokemon took to the air, Mew wanted no violence as it fled, "Why do you flee from me? Are you afraid of seeing which one of us is greater?"

It was long before Mewtwo landed a hit with a Shadow Ball with the audience surprised and the Genetic Pokemon smirking.

However, it was short lived as it seemed that Mew had enough, sending back a Shadow Ball of its own, forcing Mewtwo to crash into the stadium seats.

"Mewtwo!" Naruto and Ayumi called out as the only ones really concerned about him.

"So you do have some fight in you." The two sighed in relief as he reemerged from the rubble with the Mew duo levitating over their sides of the field, "But I have no time for games. Destiny is at hand. Who will rule? My super Pokemon? Or your pathetic group of spineless and inferior Pokemon? We were created with powers far stronger than the originals."

As Mew spoke, Rhapsody and Meowth translated, "Mew says you don't prove anything if you have a lot of special powers, and that a Pokemon's real strength comes from the heart."

Naruto nodded, "Mew is completely right." Ayumi agreed.

The clone of Mew narrowed his eyes, "My clones don't need their power to prove their worth." Mewtwo created another Shadow Ball to hit Mew with, but it evaded and hit where Ash was, who luckily ran out of the way. "I will block all the Pokemon's special abilities with my psychic powers, now we'll see who triumphs. Go!"

"Wait!" Naruto frantically called, things were now getting out of hand, but the clone Pokemon only followed their leader's orders as they charged to attack their originals.

The original Pokemon did the same while Ash's Pokemon could only watch as they charged as well as Pikachu called for them to stop, only for it to fall on deaf ears.

"Daddy, I can't do anything to stop them. Mewtwo blocked my abilities too." Rhapsody said saddly as her body trembled.

The blond held the Melody Pokemon in his arms and shielded her from the sight before them. "This isn't what I wanted to happen."

As Mewtwo and Mew clashed in a battle of psychic power, the natural born and cloned Pokemon were battling with bare strength, claws, and fangs.

"I wish everyone weren't fighting like Meowth and Meow." Ayumi stated, she couldn't take the sight of what could be called mutual self harm as she hugged her Meowth and Meowth clone.

The two didn't bother to fight as they both realized that there really wasn't than many things that made them so different.

"This is all my fault. If only I went against my promise and told Mewtwo what a horrible cruel way for his new beginning to, it would've been different." Naruto muttered as he took in as the Pokemon fell in exhaustion while Mew and Mewtwo paid no attention, "I have to stop this."

The silverette stared at her guilt-ridden companion and protested, "It's not your fault, Naruto, and it's Mewtwo's either." She stared up at the still battling Mew duo, "If only there was just something for Mewtwo to see reason."

"Mewtwo's been taught for forever that he was different, that he was a clone by Team Rocket. A tool. He must have been sad and lonely for so long, and hated being compared to Mew." Rhapsody stated sullenly, "But to force everyone else to fight like this... No one will feel better in the end. Only empty and hurt."

The Unova native nodded as the Pokemon kept fighting even though they were worn out while Mewtwo and Mew kept fighting. "See reason, huh? I did say that I would risk my life."

As the Mew duo came down to the battle field, Ayumi gave a side-glance, "Naruto...?"

Naruto moved fast as he hand his travelling companion Rhapsody and five of his Poke-balls as rubble from the two Legendaries' blast filled the arena and hit the Pokemon as well, "Take care of them, okay?"

The latest blast destroyed the electrical system as the lights went out, with only Mew and Mewtwo's psychic energy illuminating the stadium as they readied to send each other a psychic blasts once more.

"Wha-" As the blond ran, the albino realized just what Naruto was going to do as he ran towards the Mew duo, "Naruto, no!"

Ash, from the other side of the arena, had the same intentions as Naruto, as the two ran to stop all this unneeded violence as Mew and Mewtwo once more, sent a powerful psychic blast aimed toward each other.

"STOP!"

"MEWTWO, THAT'S ENOUGH!"

The two trainers were in the middle of the blast, making all gasp in horror as there was an explosion, making it unable to know what had happened to Naruto and Ash as rubble and debree filled the arena.

When it cleared, the two stood stiff, Ash with a frozen expression, and Naruto with... a peaceful and accepting smile on his face as he looked over at Mewtwo, who stared in surprise. The smile didn't leave the blonde's face as they both collapsed.

At Ash, Mewtwo's only reaction was, "Fool, trying to stop our battle." But, with Naruto, the Genetic Pokemon felt a tightening in his heart as something rolled from the Unova native's hand and towards Mewtwo.

Looking down, it was a Poke-ball.

Seeing it gave Mewtwo memories of before he had set his plans in motion. What Naruto had promised him once more.

"Hey Mewtwo." Naruto smiled happily at the Genetic Pokemon. "I know you don't ever want to be captured by a human, so I'll help you."

"If I technically capture you, and you have a Poke-ball, that means you'll be free to roam."

"Don't worry, you don't ever have to stay in there."

"It's just my way of always protecting you."

"I promise as your "trainer", friend, and family, that I'll protect you with my life."

"F-friend..." Mewtwo silently uttered to himself as he brought his Poke-ball up to him and held in one of his paws as he lifted up to stare at the necklace that was a family heirloom from Naruto.

Now staring at the blond that had happily put his own feeling behind Mewtwo's, he was now cold stone as he laid on arena. "What... have I done?"

"Daddy!"

"Pika-pi!"

Both Ash's and Naruto's first Pokemon ran to their trainers, desperately hoping that they were okay.

Rhapsody tried tugging on Naruto's now stiff and unmoving arm, "Daddy, please wake up."

Tugging on his rock hard hair, "We still have our journey together to go on."

Tears threatened to flow as she shook him, "We said we were going to go to the top together, so wake up!"

"I'll sing our song, Daddy, so wake up so you can listen." The Meloetta gave a forced smile as she rubbed the now cold cheek of her once warm father figure.

Even if I'm just

In the shadows of what's so high

Keep hoping, and make my dream come true

With my friend, Rhapsody, I know it will

No matter... If the hike is far away

I know that my friends will have my back

And I have their's

Then we'll reach the summit

To cast our

"Daddy... Daddy..." Rhapsody wept as Naruto was still unmoving to praise her as he had always done after she sung a song; while during this, Pikachu had tried its own attempts at how it usually woke Ash up with Thunder Shock.

"Naruto... No..." Ayumi shook her head, in denial of what she was seeing, tears slowly flowing from her red eyes. "You can't be..."

Suddenly, Naruto's Pokemon emerged from their Poke-balls, as though sensing there was something wrong with their trainer. Who came out were the first four Naruto had started with on his journey. Falco, Aki, Haru, and Taiyou.

The sight had them cawing, roaring, and howling in sorrow as they cried, praying for anything to have their family whole again.

The Pokemon that were laying witness to Rhapsody and Pikachu's utter heart break, wept as well.

Tears from the Pokemon went to Ash and Naruto as the trainers and Mew duo watched this.

The blond and brunette were close as they needed three more Pokemon's tears, two for Naruto, and one for Ash.

"Pika-pi..." Pikachu called as it let out one more tear.

"Daddy..." Rhapsody called out as she touched her father figure's cheek. She could feel warmth, but it was like it was through a wall.

Mewtwo stared at his... trainer... friend in pure guilt at what his selfishness had down as one sole tear fell from his cheeks as he felt... sad. "Naruto, I'm sorry."

A miracle happened as light shone through the cloud of Mewtwo's storm as the two trainers regained color to their skin and slowly rose, in a bit of daze, but stared at their first Pokemon with a smile.

"Pikachu."

"I guess good morning sounds good, Rhapsody?"

Rhapsody and Pikachu were estatic as they ran in Naruto and Ash's arms.

As everyone smiled in pure relief, Ayumi quickly wiped her eyes of the tears she'd cried as she yelled with nothing but joy, "You idiot! Don't you do something like that again, Naruto!"

The blond sheepishly laughed, "Sorry to worry you so much, Ayumi. Everyone." He then gave a satisfied smile, "I'm glad no one's fighting anymore."

Mewtwo's eyes softened in relief as he stated, "Two humans risked their lives for Pokemon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences, did I see the true power they all shared deep inside."

"Mew." The New Species Pokemon nodded.

"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevent. It's what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." The Genetic Pokemon used his psychic powers to lift the clone Pokemon, along with Ayumi, Meowth, Naruto, and his Pokemon. "You two were right all along. You are very wise for children."

The blond grinned, "Not at all, Mewtwo! We're all just living our lives the way we believe."

"Hey Naruto!" Said blond turned to Meowth. "Don't ya go making Ayumi cry again, got it?"

"I won't, and that's a promise." Naruto grinned.

"Mewtwo, where are you going?" Ash asked as he and the others watched as the Pokemon left.

"Where my heart will learn what your's knows so well." The Genetic Pokemon answered, "What transpired here, I will always remember, but perhaps for you, these events... are left forgotten."

Naruto waved to them before they were out of sight, "You won't remember this, but... Good luck in the Indigo League, Ash."

"Remember to tell me if there's anything wrong, okay Mewtwo?" Naruto asked as they stopped in a secluded part of the Johto region. "I won't hesitate to help."

Mewtwo held up his Poke-ball, "What about-?"

The blond grinned, "Don't worry, it's only a formality, but I'll hang on tight to your Poke-ball and keep protecting you. You're free to tag along whenever you like."

"Daddy, we have to get back to training!" Rhapsody called out.

"That's right, Naruto." The blond turned to Ayumi who smirked, "It may have been a long month, but we still have half a month to go until the Indigo League."

Naruto smirked as well, "You're right. We made sure not show our Pokemon's skills to each other like we promised we wouldn't, until the Pokemon League. I better find James and head off."

The albino breeder called out her ever loyal Alakazam as she hopped onto his back with Meowth on her shoulder, "I'll be going first. I think Jessie and James are back at New Island. It'll be fun explaining how they got there."

The Unova native laughed, "You've got that right! See you in the finals, Ayumi."

"You too, Naruto."

After waving good bye to Mewtwo and the clone Pokemon, Naruto called out his Fearow and rode on his back to pick up James and head back to training his other Pokemon once more, "Back to Mt. Silver we go, and treasuring that life changing memory."

A/N: And that's chapter 14! A little shorter than what I was expecting, but I'm satisfied with how it went a close to how the original with, but this time with the addition of Naruto, Ayumi, and Rhapsody.

As for Rhapsody's song, I did write that. It was meant to give a double meaning for both Mewtwo and Naruto. They're both in someone's shadow and want to rise as their own person, but it's best when you have friends to support you along the way.

The next chapter will be the start of the Indigo League!
