A long and taxing week had passed by for both Kaname and Zero, though it seemed that things had finally returned to normal, much to Kanames pleasure. Zero had seemingly let his walls down, meaning Kaname was now free to get a little closer to him. That wasn't without some limitations though, much like it had been for them before Zero had fled from his side.
But now as Kaname drove up the long pathway leading towards the house, he found that he could barely contain his emotions in knowing that he would see the silverette within a few minutes.
Today the pureblood had finally decided to return to work, knowing that he couldn't put it off much longer. He intended to take a month off after his daughter had been born, starting in a fortnights time. Unfortunately for him that meant working extra within the next passing weeks, tomorrow would be the start of the new hours.. Another thing he had been dreading to tell Zero.
It had been hard enough going away this morning at an early hour, the hunter clinging to his side until he finally stepped out the door. That had boosted Kanames ego a little bit though, knowing Zero didn't wish to leave his side for a moment longer than absolutely necessary, it seemed that he may just be realising how he truly felt about Kaname.. Or so the pureblood hoped.
But regardless of what was going on around them, as soon as Kaname pulled up his rather expensive car and stepped out, an assault of different smells reached his nose. It seemed like someone had been cooking to keep himself busy, something the pureblood had been slightly surprised about. Wasn't he meant to be on bed rest whenever Kaname hadn't been around to look after him?
With a smile upon his face, Kaname simply rolled his eyes at the thought and stepped inside, only to be greeted with Zero right at the door waiting for him. What he hadn't expected was that he had quickly grabbed hold of the purebloods shirt and pulled him down for a kiss, something to welcome him home apparently.
That in turn allowed Kaname to freely wrap his arm around the other and return the kiss quite happily. It seemed things were indeed looking better for the couple.
It was about time that Kaname had come home... Dinner had been starting to get cold. The hunter had barely given himself a moment all day to sit down and relax, as he already knew that he would want to get right back up again... It had been getting uncomfortable to stay in one position for too long, something that he dreaded to feel. He hadn't felt this restless for a very long time...
It was to the point that he had spent the day dusting every inch of the downstairs, then dragged himself upstairs to work on the nursery. He could feel it in his bones that they would be greeting their daughter soon... He had at least was recovering from the lack of blood a few weeks ago, after leaving the household. Of course he was not back to his full health, but it was as good as he could get at this rate. Taking the blood every day seemed to work... And hopefully he would be ready for the baby to be born. It was enough to make his heart flutter but for his stomach to drop as well. He wasn't looking forward to labor... But he was intent on making sure that Kaname would be there for every agonizing moment of the birth. He would of course punish Kaname for the pain he would be dealing with...
But as he had been making sure that dinner was still warm, he had heard the car park into the garage, something that made his heart flutter away. Finally he was home... Putting down the oven mitts within moments, the hunter soon walked himself over to the door as fast as his aching legs would carry him. There was no real reason to why he was excited to see Kaname again... He just... was. It was strange but he was at least getting use to it.
The kiss they had shared seemed to be sweeter than normal as he pulled his partner a little closer to him. It was probably because of one of his moods again... Kaname had probably felt the pricks during work, but hopefully he had been smart enough to keep them controlled. "...I have dinner made, I tried to make your favorite. I wasn't really sure what it was, though..." Zero said with a light smirk as he gave Kaname a soft peck on the cheek.
He was rather... affectionate today.
"Unless you're laying on the table then my favourite is right In front of me" smirking a little at the silverette, Kaname gently wound his arm around the others waist and placed a kiss against the others neck. He was quite happy to see Zero like this, it was a rare sight and something he hoped to see more often.
Making their way towards the rather large dining room, Kaname ignored the food that lay on the table got now and pulled the hunter onto his lap gently, taking care to be mindful of the hunters stomach as he did so. The last thing he wanted was to hurt their child.
Zero had been more than happily, surprisingly enough, to slide into Kaname's lap... But he had made completely sure that his stomach would not rub against the table, not with the way that he had been aching all day. It was probably from being on his feet... But he hadn't been able to lay down long enough to take a nap, and he had barely slept that night. He was more than happy to try to sleep tonight... But he was almost sure it would be impossible.
His back had been aching deeply, his hips hurting just as much... And the thoughts that swarmed through his head refused for him to catch a wink. He would stay up worrying about their daughter, dragging himself out of bed to make some adjustments in the nursery... Everything had to be perfect for the arrival of their little girl, something that could happen any day now.
"Unfortunately I'll be going into work tomorrow as well. In order to egg the time off for our girls arrival I'll need to work the overtime. I'm sorry." He hated to see him alone like this daily, it was something he never really planned to do.
And that fact alone made Zero's body stiffen with shock, his eyes growing wide, as Kaname made that statement. "...Y-you can't keep leaving me. It's only a week away, and I might not make it to the due date!" Zero stammered as he tried to put a growl of commanding in his words, but it seemed to be slipping from him... His arms tightened around Kaname's shoulders as he almost begged Kaname... What if something happened and... he was alone.
Stroking Zeros face gently as he began to panic, hoping that the movements would calm the silverette slightly, Kaname eventually nuzzled against the others chest. "I know how risky this is, but I want to try and get people off our case. The last thing we need is for people to start sniffing around the household. You have both my cell and work number, if anything feels wrong at all you merely need to call"
It would be simple after all, if Zero felt any signs of labour he could call the secretary and she would pass the message onto Kaname. Of course he couldn't really tell her exactly what was happening, a rather vague message would be enough for Kaname to understand what was happening.
Pressing his lips against his lovers cheek as another sign of reassurance, Kaname wanted nothing more than to alleviate all of the others worries. Zero probably wouldn't listen of course, so perhaps it was time to change the subject to something they would be a little happier with talking about.
Kaname may think that it was simple... But who knows, it probably was going to suck like hell if he ever went into labor. After all, Zero was more than likely going to try to tough it out as long as he could... But then again, it would take at least an hour for Kaname to get home from work. Frowning as he looked up at Kaname, he still was not soothed by the way his face was still slightly pale...
He wanted Kaname to be there when the baby came, after all. The entire damn time. He would make Kaname suffer for every moment of labor that he had put Zero through... But he might miss out of an hour or two of making him suffer if he's at work. "...Yeah, let's see how that works..." Zero grumbled as he shifted himself on Kaname's lap, but couldn't help but think that he was hurting Kaname with the weight on his lap.
With a sigh, Zero eventually leaned his head against Kaname's shoulders and let his eyes flutter closed. "Speaking of the baby... We need names. Now." Kaname had already found out that the baby was head down a couple of days ago, when Zero had started to get more and more restless. It meant that the baby could come at any moment, meaning that they needed to get going on the names...
"Shouldn't we have dinner first? You seemed to have put quite the effort into doing this for me and it would be a shame to have it go to waste over something that could wait a day or two" It wasn't that Kaname didn't want to think of a name for their baby, it was that every time they seemed to discuss this matter it would end up in an argument. Seeing as Zero was in such a fine mood today, Kaname would hate to jeopardise such a wonderful thing.
Resting his own head against the silverettes, Kaname glanced over towards the food. It looked quite nice and Kaname rarely got to eat something Zero had prepared for him. Kaien had told him that his son was quite the cook and the first time Kaname had experienced it he had been quite amazed.
"Lets just take tonight easy, work has exhausted me and I'm sure you are tired from being on your feet all day. Perhaps if I give you a bath and massage a little later we can have an early night for once. Names could wait for another day, alright?"
Zero didn't quite want to wait a day or two for the name of the baby... But if she was going to be able to wait a few days, then maybe they could as well. He still had some names in mind, and Annabelle was still high on his list... But there wasn't going to be much time left for them both to think of a name. Hopefully they would be able to think of a good one...
Finally deciding to let the topic go for now since Kaname soon started eating, they settled for simple conversation. Asking what the other had done that day, if there was anything interesting... They looked like the perfect couple. Kaname with his very pregnant mate on his lap, hands on his stomach, sometimes chuckling as their daughter gave a grumpy wiggle or kick...
Soon enough, Zero was talking about what he had done that day while Kaname was awake. He had been preparing for the baby in every way possible... Picked out the first diaper, the first outfit, binky, and even the crib was fully prepared to hold their daughter even if she was born right that minute. Everything was ready... Which worried Kaname.
Zero seemed... Antsy today. He didn't like to sit still on Kaname's lap, and a couple times the young hunter had gotten up to stretch his legs or just to get a drink of water. He seemed to be uncomfortable as well, as if he couldn't sit comfortably. Kaname had found out a couple days ago that their daughter had gone head down... And all of this behavior pointed to one thing.

Could Zero be close to...?
...No, of course not. That was ridiculous. Kaname attempted to pay attention to Zero as much as he could while pushing the thought to the back of his head. He quietly continued to eat the rest of the food off of the plate, until he soon realized there was nothing more. And of course Zero was back to the topic of names...
"Zero, I will write down a list just for you doing work. I will give you so many names that you won't know what to do with yourself."
No one would look at his paperwork so there would be no risk of him getting caught, it would be something Zero would hopefully agree on too.
It sounded like a pretty good deal... As long as Kaname could get away with it. Zero wasn't quite sure how much they respected Kaname's privacy, especially when they were tight ass vampires that would do anything to get a juicy piece of information. Hell, they had spread the news of his family's death before the hunters had managed to catch a hold of the news, something he still wasn't quite happy with.
"Ah, now that I have eaten, can I do anything for you? A bath or a massage perhaps? I need to say thankyou for the lovely meal you prepared for me."
Kaname was bringing up the next thing... Something he can do for Zero. Well now that he brought it up... Smirking slightly as he let his hand rest onto Kaname's as he did his best to soothe the baby, he thought about just what he would want... "My back has been aching... Maybe it'll help me get to sleep tonight."
Zero had already known that he had woken Kaname up a few times to go to the bathroom or to just walk around to get the ache out of his joints. Both of them knew that restlessness could mean that the baby was coming soon, but after the last couple of days of restlessness, they have grown to ignore it... It was probably just from their daughter moving around into odd places.
It would be uncomfortable to hold such weight in his stomach after all, it would be perfectly understandable if he wished to walk about a bit to try and alleviate some of the pressure. That's what Kaname had told himself anyway, there was no other sign that their child would be coming. That alone allowed Kaname to be a little more peaceful.
"Then i'll give you the best massage I possibly can, you wont even feel the back ache once I'm done with you" Smirking a little bit at the hunter, Kaname leant forward and pressed his lips against his cheek. Though that was only habit, Kaname always seemed to kiss Zero there, knowing it was one of the only places he wouldn't get in trouble for.
But today the hunter was quite affectionate, making Kaname think that he may just get away with a kiss elsewhere.. Weighing the pros and cons of what might happen, the pureblood decided to throw caution to the wind and leant forward once more, only to press his lips against the others instead.
For once though, instead of pulling away quickly like he first intended, Kaname instead drew the hunters bottom lip into his own mouth and sucked lightly, trailing his tongue across the soft flesh. Realising he had probably gone too far, Kaname quickly released the others lips and looked at the hunter a little sheepishly. "Sorry"
A deep blush pushed itself over Zero's face the moment that he felt the teasing suck on his bottom lip, and the wet tongue running across it slowly... And it couldn't help but bring a little heat into his body, nearly making him shudder. His breath caught into his throat just for a moment... until Kaname finally decided to pull himself away. Great.
The blush refused to leave him as he looked back at Kaname with a mixture of shock and a little bashful. Well that was enough to get a reaction out of the hunter... Though which kind? Kaname could still feel his emotions through the bond as well, and he would be able to feel the slight heat that had rushed itself through his veins, even if only for a moment...
"...N-no, it's okay," Zero stammered, soon looking away as if an attempt to hide his blush. It had been quite some time since Kaname had kissed him like that... It had felt pretty damn hot. Soon enough, Zero was more than happy to start trying to pull himself up from the chair, grabbing onto the side of the table to help heave himself up. At least he was getting a little better at that... But maybe they should at least get upstairs before Kaname would try to kiss him again.
It might be more comfortable upstairs... on the bed...
Maybe Kaname was feeling a little more of that heat through the bond right now than he thought.
Zero had reacted to that kiss a little more strongly than Kaname had expected. If he hadn't felt that continuous heat through the bond then he would of surely felt rejection the moment Zero tried to sit himself up from his lap. Luckily enough for him though the reassurance that bond provided was enough for him to know Zero was probably still thinking about that kiss.
Kaname of course wouldn't allow himself to get carried away, Zero may just be trying to calm his emotions right now for the massage he would receive. The bond didn't allow him to read his thoughts after all, Kaname still had no way to grasp how Zero wanted to take all of this.
So as the other silently started to head towards the stairs, Kaname quickly followed him, ensuring he wasn't far behind as they made their way up the large staircase. It had been a long time since they had shared a kiss like that, in fact the last time things had felt so heated was seconds before Zero had seen those horrid memories.
Things may be starting to get better for the two... It was obvious enough by the heat that had fluttered in through his veins. But Zero had still refused to tell Kaname that he did love him, since... the last time he had felt this way was for Yuuki. And look at how that had turned out... No, Zero would be much more careful this time, to try to keep himself as calm as possible.
Slowly Zero started to make his way up the stairs, though it was a slow, lengthy process. Halfway up, he had turned to Kaname for help up the rest, having already gotten winded and a bit too tired to go up the rest of the way by himself. It was a miracle that he had been able to go up and down while Kaname had been away... Then again, he had been able to go at as slow a pace as he could.
But eventually they made it up the stairs, and Zero was all too happy to sink into the plush bed. With a happy sigh he stretched out onto the bed, much like he always did. With the larger his stomach had gotten, the more room he thought he needed, and the closer to the edge of the bed Kaname had found himself... But hopefully he wouldn't sleep quite yet.
When their child was born the pureblood would be sure to claim his side of the bed once again, he had on occasion woken up to being pushed off the bed, Zero sprawling his way across the rather large mattress to act much like a starfish. Kaname wouldn't mention that though, he wanted his lover to be comfortable as much as he possibly could be.
"I'm just going to lift up the back of your shirt and move your trousers down slightly, it's for the massage so you don't need to worry" The last thing the pureblood wanted was for Zero to think he was going to have his way with him right now, especially since Kaname was quite nervous about even trying to do anything with the hunter, being afraid he would push him away again.
Slowly Kaname moved his hands forward, his fingers brushing against the silverettes skin as he lifted the shirt up as high as he could then moving his bottoms down enough so that he could fully access the hunters lower back. Of course he tried to ignore the sparks of heat that pulsed through his each time the fingers brushed against naked skin.
A shiver raced its way up his spine as he felt the fingers brushing slowly against his skin, skin that had been begging to be nursed with Kaname's attention. It was a little bit embarrassing, especially as he knew Kaname would be able to feel the light shiver... But he tried to hide his growing blush and pushed his head a little more into the pillow, ignoring the sparks as much as he could.
'...Keep going," Zero murmured, as if hoping that Kaname would not stop just because he felt the pathetic shivers. His own heart was starting to race, though, at this sensation... But what exactly was he telling Kaname to keep going with? The massage, or... removing his clothing. Actually, he wasn't quite sure as well...
Because thoughts were starting to seep into his head, ones that he knew his mother would be ashamed of him if she knew. It had just been so long... And he couldn't remember the last time that it had been so long from having sex... Maybe he was a little bit overdramatic with all of this, but he still couldn't help but dream... Right?
The hands paused upon the silverettes back, equally unsure of what he had been asking. Would he continue with the massage or continue with the removal of clothes? Perhaps he had to test the waters to see exactly what the hunter had desired, as if those little ripples weren't enough of an indicator for what he wished.
Keeping his hand against the small of the others back, Kaname leant down and pressed his lips against the hunters side, giving him butterfly kisses all the way up to where his shirt had been resting. As if that wasn't enough, the pureblood gently shifted that shirt and pressed even more kisses against the hunters flushed skin.
He had been right in testing things this way, if the reaction he got was favourable then he would continue.. If not he would simply continue on massaging the others back. As he waited though he couldn't help but rest his hand on the hunters waist.
Oh he was so right... And as the soft sound of pleasure managed to get pulled from Zero's lips, Kaname would know just exactly what Zero was hoping for out of this 'massage'. Squirming a little bit underneath Kaname's arousing touch, he couldn't help but blush out in his desires. At least Kaname understood what he wanted... Not that Kaname was complaining, in fact he was sure his day couldn't get any better until Zero had decided that today would be the perfect time for them to get as close as they possibly could, allowing Kaname to know that things were as good as they had been before Zero left, if not better. The hand that had been resting against the hunters hip soon wondered down to find the hem of his trousers, quickly he grasped onto it and began pulling the fabric down. It exposed bit by bit of that wondrous white flesh Kaname had craved for so long, the purebloods eyes unable to look away.. But he soon thought that he wasn't doing enough to keep the hunter happy, simply undressing him wouldn't do.
It was why as his hand continued to pull the fabric down, he began to press his lips against the males side once more. The difference this time around was that he lightly began to suck at the flesh beneath, his tongue also moving against the alabaster flesh. This time around Kaname would make sure Zero would never forget their intimacy together, he planned to do everything he could to keep this moment imprinted on the others mind.
Kaname had been doing a rather good job so far in making sure this would be a night Zero would not forget... Soon enough he was rapidly starting to undo them bit by bit, letting his sculpted chest finally become seen to the hungry hunter. Then of course Kaname had decided to start sucking on his skin... In fact if that's all he got from tonight then he wouldn't care. Zero had always been his top priority, even if things had been rocky for them at one stage. He had still been in love.

Damn it this felt too good to stop and now all he was thinking about was that he wanted to kiss Kaname like there was no tomorrow, and feel those damn hands on his body again... And he already could think of a couple particular spots.
Being in a slightly cheekier mood than normal, Kaname vanished from behind his lovers form, only to quickly appear before him seconds later. Why bother move about when he could simply appear where he needed to be? It was close enough so he needn't worry about the distance. Not that Zero would complain about him doing things the faster way.
"I'm here, you don't need to worry" Smirking a little Kaname once again placed his hand in between the silverettes thighs, his fingers teasingly making their way towards the warmth the other was quite clearly emitting. There was no longer any doubt in his mind as to what Zero truly wanted at this moment, his orders were enough of an indication.
Though that alone had been enough to set Kaname off, no one had ever ordered him around like Zero dared to. It aroused the pureblood beyond what he thought imaginable to be told what to do in a stern manner when it came to the bedroom. It seemed like Zero was the only one who could truly bring out each of the vampires emotions.
Those blessed fingers... They knew exactly how to work with Zero's body, how to get the best reactions and pure sensations to rip through his body. He tightened his legs around Kaname's hand at first, nervous at the sensation to the body part that had only been touched once before. But as he felt that familiar heat starting to flush into those parts, he didn't hesitate to slide open his legs again to his touch.

It won't... do anything," Zero panted as he looked back up at him, but he wasn't quite ready to stay quiet yet... Not as he leaned forward and quickly kissed him once more.
"She will be perfectly safe... Nothing will happen," Kaname managed to breathe out between kisses, already starting to tilt his hand down to Zero's legs while still pleasuring his beloved. He touched his thigh, letting him delicately pull his leg over and around Kaname's hip. It was time for them to be together again... Physically. It had been so long, too long, and now it was like Zero had forgiven him.

Silvery amethyst eyes stared back into the gentle rubies, feeling the heat coarse through his veins like fire. There was no need to hesitate any longer... Their perfect rhythm was easy enough to fine, as the two of them began to sync with each other's bodies, they couldn't help but sped it up. It was more than perfect, after all... When their bodies would thrust against each other and Zero would only thrust back just as hard. It felt too good to stop...
But as the sweat dripped down their bodies, the heat swelling in their abdomens and other areas, both knew that this love making would have to come to an end... Zero was getting tired, and he could already feel how much his back was aching away. It was making him wince with every thrust up, making him sometimes bite down onto whatever he was licking and kissing.
It grew to the point that Zero was starting to pant as he arched his back again, trying not to groan in pain again. it felt too good to stop though...! But he knew that the pain was starting to take away the pleasure, and it seemed like their daughter had awoken halfway through. "...I-I think we need to... f-finish soon," Zero groaned out softly as he tried to push down his hips in time with Kaname's, but it was getting too difficult...
Maybe having sex while pregnant wasn't the best idea.
Hearing the slightly pained voice leave Zeros lips made Kaname immediately reach up and grasp hold of those hips, assisting the hunter in each of his movements. If he wished to stop now then that had been perfectly fine with Kaname, he didn't wish to hurt the silverette after all, this was all to cause him pleasure, not pain..
So holding him up in position instead of moving his whole body with each thrust, Kaname instead started moving his own hips much faster, feeling his impending release come at a rather quick pace. There would be no need for him to pull out now, not when Zero had already been so pregnant. He couldn't possibly because even more impregnated, there was no risk left for them.
With one last rather deep thrust, Kaname groaned out loudly, his seed spilling forth into the hunters confines. It wasn't long before the pureblood released the others hips from his hold, allowing the hunter to rest his body against his own. And from there Kaname began to pant, his body catching up with the exertion he had put forth.
Even if there wasn't a risk of impregnation, that didn't mean that the hunter would be completely fine... He did seem to be rather exhausted, and his back was aching like crazy... But it was pleasant while it lasted. And as soon as Kaname had started his orgasmic release, the hunter couldn't help but feel the heat push up into his own body, letting out a long moan of Kaname's name.
But after everything was said and done, it allowed the hunter to slowly lean his body back down, still panting to try to fight away the exhaustion. Hell, sex was a lot more work than he had remembered... But the last time had been maybe a couple months ago. Sluggishly, the hunter began to slide his hips off of Kaname's, relucantly letting his hips rest onto the bed.
But he did keep his head down onto his chest, trying to focus on leveling out his breathing as best as he could. Eventually, though he managed to close his eyes as he delicately tucked his head beneath Kaname's chin. It was still a little painful, especially in his back, but he knew he would just have to suck it up and deal with it as much as he could...
The pureblood hadn't been completely harmless, instead of allowing Zero to lay there in pain he quickly moved an arm behind the silverette and began massaging the small of his back gently. It wasn't much but being in the position they were in only allowed him to lightly press against the others back. At least it was better than nothing at this point.
"Thank you.. For coming back to me, for being the mother of my child.. I owe you so much, Zero. I love you" The breathless whisper caressed over the top of the silverettes hair as they lay together like this, Kaname knowing that he wouldn't get the answer back that he one day wished to hear.
It would all take some time, time he was more than willing to give. After all if they could be like this then they had nothing to worry about, their lived would be perfect. And in a few weeks time everything would be complete.. They would have their child in their arms and everything would be right in the world.
Time was what both of them needed at this point, and as the amethyst eyes hesitantly looked up at his partner, he couldn't help but wish that he could truthfully tell the pureblood back that he did love him... But he still... wasn't sure. He was still on the fence, and he needed to make sure that Kaname was really the best option for him. Right now, Kaname was making a very good case for it, though...
Nuzzling softly underneath Kaname's chin, the hunter couldn't help but let the sigh escape from him. "...Thanks for... taking me back." It was all that he let himself say, especially because he wasn't about to admit that he was completely wrong like Kaname probably wanted. He still wanted to have some pride left in his body after the baby was born...
He did like the pureblood rubbing his back as well, because it did try to do its job as much as Kaname was able to. Letting his eyes close as he curled himself just as close as was possible, the hunter knew that they should get to sleep as soon as possible... He was just too tired to go take a shower...
Moving his hands down to his stomach, he was surprised to feel that she was quiet, as if she was allowing her mother to rest... Only gentle nudges were felt, even felt to Kaname as they pressed their bodies together. The pureblood seemed to notice this too, judging by the soft chuckle coming from him.
"...She must be excited to be so close to seeing her beautiful mother," Kaname murmured sweetly to his partner, catching the embarrassed look that crossed Zero's face only for a moment before the silverette pushed his face into the pillow. Typical Zero can't handle a compliment... Though as if to prove his point, he couldn't help but slowly slide his weary body down, one hand touching Zero's sore back yet the other cradled the bottom of Zero's stomach, feeling the soft roundness of the baby's head just beneath the surface.
Soft lips pressed to Zero's very pregnant stomach, and he could have sworn he felt a nudge back against him. "...Just stay still for just a few more weeks, my sweet," Kaname whispered, soon resting his cheek to his stomach. He almost couldn't believe his luck... Not only did he have an amazing mate, but their child... Their child would be perfect. They just had to wait a little while longer...
Eventually, he felt soft fingers beginning to touch into his thick hair, caressing through it once more. "...She better stay still. You're going to be there through the whole fucking birth if it's the last thing I ever do," Zero muttered, of course shattering through the tender moment like a knife. But Kaname only gently chuckled and nuzzled into the swollen stomach. He would be happy to never leave this moment... His lover in his arms and his child so close to him, warm and protected.
...It was just so perfect.
-3 hours later-
"...Ow."
A soft pinch in his lower stomach was enough to pull the groggy hunter out of his desired sleep, forcing his dull amethyst eyes open. This wasn't a good time to wake up... He had just managed to sink into a deep sleep, enough to chase away the fears of waking up when Kaname left for work, and now he felt a pinch. Probably another pulled muscle...
Slowly Zero gained back his senses as he started to delicately sit himself up, trying not to wince at the stiffness of his body. His back felt like it was on fire... And his hips hurt as well. That entire area seemed to be in pain... With a frown, Zero dropped his hand onto his semi-hard stomach, trying to rub away where he had felt the pinch. He hated it when he pulled a muscle or when the baby would do it for him...
His blurry eyes eventually lifted and looked back to Kaname, who was still asleep beside him, his head still resting beside his swollen stomach. Good, he needed his sleep... Kaname was going to be the one getting out of bed every two hours anyway. He couldn't help but slightly smirk at the thought, until he felt that familiar pressure in his lower stomach. He needed to take a piss again... Grumbling, he slowly started to scoot his way off of the bed, though was annoyed by the creaking of the springs of the bed.
He knew he was fat, he didn't need the bed to tell him the same thing...
Only once he got onto his feet did he fully feel the pain in his back and hips, and the pinch was still there... But it was dulling away, probably from finally beginning to shift around a bit and loosen the muscle. With a hard sigh, he rubbed onto his stomach as he started to make his way to the bathroom, hoping that he wouldn't awaken the pureblood as he tried to keep his clumsy feet from making too much noise.
Kaname was in a deep sleep himself, he didn't even stir when the weight of Zero had left the bed. He usually did sleep quite deeply after sex, something he wasn't entirely proud of. But regardless of that fact, the pureblood merely rolled onto his side and clutched hold of his pillow in an attempt to make up for the loss of holding Zero and their precious daughter.
Work was hard enough to Kaname without having to see Zero, his thoughts were always tainted to think of the hunter whenever he could.. Sometimes making him miss important things during meetings. Such was the life of someone in love, something Kaname hadn't felt so strongly in a very long time.
The light of the bathroom being clicked on hadn't even woke the pureblood, it seemed as though he wouldn't even wake from work. He could only hope that the alarm would be enough to wake him, if even Zeros presence hadn't done the trick.
The sound of the toilet flushing didn't seem to wake up the pureblood, even as the young hunter stepped his way out from the bathroom. His stomach was still sore and his back was aching... But it was still fading. So maybe he would be able to get a little more sleep... Rubbing a little deeper into his lower back as he stepped towards the bed, he couldn't help but smirk as he watched Kaname clutch the pillow.
And so he delicately started to slide himself towards the bed, easing himself onto the mattress. It took a little work, but he delicately eased the pillow away, only to return into Kaname's arms, where he deserved to be. Letting out a soft sigh as he pulled himself into Kaname's gentle hold, he let his eyes flutter closed again... Only to see the glaring red light of the clock, reminding him of the time. 3 PM... Kaname would be needing to leave for work in three hours... And of course he would be gone all day.
Heaving a heavy sigh, the hunter forced his mind to calm and black out, wanting nothing to distract him from sleep that had been alluding him for days...
Though it was only for a while for Zero to be able to sleep. Because as time passed, the hunter was pulled awake again... and again... And again. All by that stupid little pulled muscle. It was getting to the point that the hunter would pull himself out of bed to walk around a little bit or to get a drink, thinking that it was a bothersome hick that wasn't going away.
This staggered sleeping continued until the pureblood's alarm began to blare, but he would wake up holding a pillow... Because Zero was on his feet again, pacing a little bit outside the room, waiting for the nagging pinch to end again. Usually it would happen when the baby would kick, but she had been a little quiet... Maybe it was a sign that she needed to get out of there before her mother couldn't sleep because of the nagging muscles.
Surprisingly enough Kaname hadn't woke at all during the endless movements Zero created, in fact he barely pulled himself awake once the alarm had started to blare. Though after three loud minutes of continuous buzzing, Kaname finally decided to open his eyes. He didn't wish to be late after all, that would only mean he would be required to stay longer.
Once realising Zero hadn't been sleeping in his arms like he was meant to be, Kaname had quickly pulled himself out of the bed, worried for his lovers safety. He didn't get far before he had made his way to the hunters location, seemingly walking up and down the hallway.
Wiping a little sleep from his eyes, Kaname frowned at the silverette just as he had passed the outside of their door, his hand to his stomach and his face in a frown. "Is everything alright? It isn't like you to be awake before me at such an hour." In fact something like that had never happened before, Zero was always sleeping soundly in his arms whenever the pureblood woke up.
The hunter couldn't help but slightly wince as he paused halfway through the hallway, though already feeling his swollen ankles bark at him to stop. But he couldn't explain why he felt so damn... restless. Placing both hands down against his soft stomach, he gave it a few rubs as if to try to keep his pounding heart calm as well as their daughter. He couldn't help but wonder why... he was feeling like this. But it couldn't be happening... He had four or five more weeks.
"...I think I'm okay, my back was just hurting and I got a couple hicks," Zero sighed as he leaned his shoulders back against the wall. That... actually felt like it helped. Blinking a little bit, he slowly pulled his back up against the wall, then finally his hips. That actually felt much better... As if it was straightening his back.
A soft sigh slipped from his lips as he rubbed a little deeper into the bottom of his stomach, glad to be free of some of the discomfort. "...Yeah, I think that was just it. I'm feeling better," Zero sighed as he delicately shifted his back into a better position against the wall, trying to straighten out his spine.
The pureblood stepped forward as Zero began to speak, eventually leaning over him though being careful not to put any pressure on the others stomach. "I'm glad, why don't i make you breakfast before i head off? A warm drink and food in your stomach might help. I'll even setup the couch with pillows and blankets so you can rest all day"
That was what Kaname wanted from the silverette after all, to have him rest. He was so close to his due date and being up for long hours of the day would surely bring out their child much sooner than needed. They did say physical activity wasn't the wisest thing to do unless you wanted to bring on labour, something neither really wished for so soon.
Grasping hold of Zeros hand as he pressed a kiss against the others forehead, Kaname happily pulled back from Zero. "Im glad we spent the night together, it makes me happy to know that we can still be together in that way." It would probably be their last time before the baby arrived anyway, Zero really wouldn't want to try such a thing after giving birth.
"You better have enjoyed it because you're not getting it again unless you wear a condom," Zero couldn't help but softly chuckle as he looked back up at Kaname, only to quietly lean up and kiss onto his lips. It was a rare thing for Zero to do to Kaname, and it may have happened only a few times in their relationship together.
Though eventually when he pulled away from his lips, he couldn't help but wince again, feeling that stupid prick. It was a little more painful this time, and as he rubbed his stomach a little deeper, he couldn't help but wonder why the hicks were painful this time... There had been their moments of being painful, yes, but not this much.
But sucking up the pain as best as he could, knowing that he would just worry Kaname if he complained, he didn't hesitate as he tightened his hand around Kaname's. "Okay... It should help," Zero sighed as he gave his stomach another deeper rub, trying to rub out the tenseness. He didn't quite want to deal with this upstairs, not when he could be cozy on the couch and try to relax...
Noticing his partners obvious discomfort in his stomach area, Kaname moved his hand down against the large swell and gave a gentle rub. "You definitely need to stay off your feet today, i don't want you to lift a finger until i get home" Stepping back to look at the male for a second, Kaname quickly bent down and placed his hands behind Zeros legs.
Seconds later the silverette was in the purebloods arms, Kaname deciding to carry the other down the stairs instead of making him walk the distance. It was obvious that today he wasn't feeling the best and Kaname had been sure that making him walk down the stairs wouldn't benefit him at all.
So from there the pureblood began to make his way downstairs, eventually placing Zero down onto the couch and covering him with a blanket before placing several large couch cushions around him for support. He was thankful for setting his alarm earlier than needed, giving him adequate time to prepare breakfast for his lover.
For once, Zero didn't complain as his partner soon picked him up delicately from his feet. Quietly Zero tucked his arms around Kaname's shoulders in an attempt to keep himself steady in Kaname's strong arms. He knew he weighed a lot after all, and this was no different... But he still couldn't help but wince at the discomfort that he felt in his stomach.
But soon enough, Kaname had laid him down onto the couch, letting him move the cushions around him to keep his back supported and just about everything else. He shifted his hand onto his swollen stomach and gave it a few deeper rubs to loosen up the muscles. It had been aching all morning, but maybe he could get over it soon...
He did want something to eat, after all. Adjusting himself in his seat, he let out a sigh and leaned his head back into the cushion. He wanted this baby out of here... Out of his stomach, out of his spine, out of his ribs. Rubbing a little deeper into his stomach into a few more painful parts, he eventually called out, "How long until you have to leave?"
Zero would need to be patient for their little girl, merely wishing her out wouldn't be enough to put he labour into motion. Luckily enough for the both of them they only had a few small weeks to worry about before they got to see their child. Though those weeks would either go extremely fast or extremely slow.. Then there was the option of going over-term.
Hearing Zero yell out over the soft pops of bacon cooking, Kaname moved his head and called back "forty five minutes. After I give you your food I'll change and spend the rest of my morning with you" his briefcase and suit were already waiting for him upstairs so it wouldn't be long to prepare for the day.
After some time had passed, Kaname had finally finished cooking the rather large meal and quickly came out to place the plate before the silverette. "I hope you feel like eggs and bacon with mushroom, tomato and toast. If you eat more this morning the longer you can rest this afternoon" the pureblood was hoping that this food would assist the silverette in falling asleep.
As time passed, though, he couldn't help but feel more and more worried about why his stomach still felt so tense and painful... He really must have slept on it wrong to make it feel this bad. Trying not to grumble about his bad luck, the hunter only rubbed deeper into his stomach, then quietly tried to do the same with his back. But he was feeling... anty again. Like he should be getting up.
Soon enough, though, his partner had come back with the food, which Zero had been more than happy to take. Hopefully it would help to keep his stomach from aching again... She must just be hungry and was eating his organs. There, that was it, just eating his organs. Nothing major... So it was with no hesitation that he placed the plate onto his stomach and started to shovel in the food.
"As long as it's food, I don't care..." Zero grunted between swallows as he pulled in more food into his mouth. Already he could start feeling better, and after a few sips of the water he had brought, he felt almost back to normal. His back still ached and there was a little sting in his hips, but that was to be expected...
"Good" Smiling and leaning over to press his lips to the silverettes forehead, Kaname eventually stepped back and glanced at the clock. "I'm going to change, I will be back shortly. Please don't get up before I return, I want to ensure you are as comfortable as possible." Not that Zero would listen to him once he had left anyway.
Quickly the pureblood stepped towards the stairwell and made his way towards the bedroom. He didn't really wish to leave Zero today but then again what else could he do? It seemed he had no other choice in the matter especially since he needed to take time off for the birth of his child.
So as time passed by, the pureblood had managed to change into the suitable attire, resulting in him returning back into the lounge where Zero had been resting. "Are you feeling alright for me to leave?"
Things seemed to be getting better for the hunter, at least with the aches and pains that he had been experiencing. He had already polished the food off of his plate and had slid it down onto the floor, though it had been quite a stretch. The baby hadn't quite been willing for that motion, giving Zero a reassuring wiggle and squirm. At least she was moving again...
Kaname would find the hunter in the middle of a yawn, stretching out onto the couch, though soon realized that he looked more like a beached whale than a graceful stretch to stretch out his muscles. "...Yeah, I just needed to get something to eat," Zero sighed, glancing back up at Kaname. His color already was a little better and he seemed to be a little livelier...
Maybe food was all that he had needed to start feeling better. Though to make sure that Kaname wasn't going to complain about his movements, he quietly tucked himself a little deeper into the couch, tucking the blanket around his large body. Once again the baby squirmed and stretched, as if wishing to be warmed by the cover of the blanket as well.
Smiling as Zero nestled himself into the blankets a little more, Kaname stepped forward and placed a kiss on his cheek. It seemed that seven had come around much quicker than originally anticipated, meaning that he wouldn't be able to linger with Zero as much as originally anticipated. Though he could always make up for that fact after he had returned from work.
"Be sure to call me if anything happens. Send through a text for what you want for dinner and I'll check my phone during the break." Ruffling the silverettes hair gently, Kaname made his way towards the door. It felt like such a chore having to go to work so soon after he was sure he had cleared everything the day before.
Though before long he had managed to leave the house and enter his rather flashy car, pulling away into the highway. It wouldn't take him long to get to work this morning it seemed, though he couldn't say the same for when he returned. The clouds making their way into the skies looked rather dismal, a storm on the brink of breaking out.
Stupid storm... It was going to be much more trouble than either of them would have wanted soon.
A grumble slipped from Zero as Kaname ruffled his hair, though a slight blush had crossed his face at the soft affectionate touch. Eventually he looked back up at him, smirking a little bit more as he leaned back into the cushions. He bid Kaname goodbye with soft words, knowing that he should try to sleep again... And so as he listened to the tires pulling out from the garage and the engine roar fading away, he let his eyelids grow a little heavy and rested his head down.
By the time his eyes had opened again, it had felt like hours had passed... His body felt stiff, as if he had been sleeping awkwardly, and his stomach was still aching. So he quickly drew to the conclusion that... He needed to use the bathroom. Again. Groaning slightly at his bad luck that he had just gotten comfortable and now had to get up and leave his couch, he tried to prepare himself to get himself up. Though looking down off the edge of the couch, he couldn't help but notice that the plate was still there...
Damn it, he had forgotten to put it away. The last thing he wanted was to step on it, and with all of his weight, it would more than likely shatter and do more harm than good. Grumbling as he slowly started to sit himself up on the couch, though it was a bit of a hassle, he finally started to pull himself up to his feet. It was a little hard to get down to the plate, he already knew that...
Glaring down at his plate as if it was the cause of his suffering, the hunter delicately pressed his hand against his swollen stomach and started to lean down. It was slow and irritating the entire way down, but after some failed tries, he finally leaned down far enough to pick up the plate... But just as he started to pull himself back up, victorious with managing to pick up the plate, the last thing he expected happened.
Pain.
It was the worst pain yet all morning, and it hit hard. "Ngh...!" Zero grunted as the hand slipped down against his stomach, only to drop the plate from his other hand and hear it shatter on the floor. That was the least of his worries, though, as he clung to his quickly hardening stomach. Fuck... It was a horrible pain...
It started in his lower back, like a deep pressure as if a weight had suddenly fallen onto him. Then it pushed its way to the front of his hips and across his stomach, then falling down to between his legs. That... wasn't a normal pain. Not as it stayed there for seconds, letting them tick by as the pain grew harder into his swollen stomach, and just as he could have sworn that a minute had passed, it finally passed away.
This... wasn't good.
Kaname on the other hand hadn't even suspected a thing, he was busy on the highway to work, soft classical music humming away in the car as he drove quickly along. He had to put on his usual act after all, the Kaname at home and the one at work were like two completely different people, something Zero had known all too well by this point. He was just the lucky one and received the kinder pureblood.
Thirty minutes had passed by and he had eventually pulled into the lot at work, one of the first to arrive luckily. The only other car in the lot at the moment had belonged to the secretary Celina and Kyoshiro.. Though he knew Kyoshiro was only here to hit on the female. It was about the only reason he showed up early on days like these, hoping she would finally cave and give in to his 'needs'
Stepping into the building and making his way towards the desk, Celina immediately stopped talking to Kyoshiro as if he were nothing and looked up at her leader expectantly. "Celina, if I receive any calls today I ask you give me a message immediately. I don't care what it's interrupting I wish to be told." Handing over his phone, Kaname turned to Kyo and gave one brief nod before heading off into the meeting room.
While Zero was probably trying to figure out a plan of what to do now, it was surprisingly peaceful in the office. Other vampires had already been inside the office, trying to do what they can to eat the breakfast items before Kyoshiro would come in and take all of them. They all knew that Kyoshiro was a hoarder in food, or at least in the doughnuts and... about everything else. At least Celina was buying them some time...
As Kaname stepped inside, though, they soon returned back to their seats before he had the chance to scold them about not being ready for the meeting. Kyoshiro had grudgingly followed, after having himself convinced that he would be able to nab Celina during the break, if they were to get any today. The other vampires had a hell lot of paperwork for them to go through, after all...
Grumbling as Kyoshiro sank into his chair and was quick to set his heels up onto the table, his arms behind his head, he eventually turned his head to look back at Kaname with his sighted eye. Of course there was the slight smell of blood on him... And with some droplets still on his clothing and a rip here and there, it wouldn't be a wonder as to what he had decided to do before the meeting.
"Can we get this damn thing going already? I have three more prey on my list to take care of tonight."
Frowning at the one person who would even think of disturbing a pureblood, Kaname quickly rolled his eyes and played his friends attitude off as if it were nothing. Kyoshiro was always impatient with things like this, though luckily enough for him Kaname also wished to get out of here as quickly as possible. Zero would no doubt be hungry when he returned, meaning that the pureblood would need to prepare something.
The mention of Zero in his mind however had distracted Kaname once again, his attention being brought to the moments they had shared last night and how perfect things really were. Zero had forgiven him and they were close again, it was only a matter of time before he would accept the pureblood as a proper lover.
"Kyoshiro is right, i also have plans i need to return too. Would someone get this meeting started already?" Glancing towards the nervous aristocrats, Kaname had to refrain from yawning as they pulled out the stack of paperwork, discussing everything they needed to do today. It was definitely going to drag..
It certainly wasn't going to be a drag for one person.
Soft panting slipped from Zero's lips as he leaned his back against the wall, trying his best to fight away the wave of pain that was flowing through his body. His stomach was hard under his touch and had been for the past fifteen minutes, and if there had been any doubt before, Zero sure as hell wasn't doubting it any longer... He knew he was in labor. And he knew Kaname was nearly an hour away.
Gritting his teeth together as he tried to help the wall support him, he tried to let his body do the work for him to relieve the pain from his body. Slowly he rocked his hips forward and then back against the wall, trying to rock away the pain. Surprisingly enough, it was starting to work... But he also knew that soon enough, the labor would prove him wrong again. They were ten minutes apart now, and they had been that way for the last hour.
He was trying to tough it out as long as he could... After all, the first labor was supposed to be slow. It had certainly felt slow at first... Now he was unfortunately beginning to realize that the pricks of pain happening not too long after noon while they had been sleeping must have been labor. Now he was at one o'clock, nearing two, and his labor was progressing a little faster than he liked...
It would be at least five hours until Kaname got home. Five. Hours. And of course this had to be on the first day of his new hours...
The thought of calling him had been at the front of his mind for the last hour, but he had been trying to pick up on the right time where Kaname's break would be. It would be the best way to get in contact with him... Taking in another shaky breath, his thoughts soon snapped to the hard labor that was still progressing. He really should be focusing on what was happening...
He was going to punch the hell out of Kaname when he was getting home... And as the sweat started to touch onto his forehead, he eventually started to pull himself up from the wall. The pain was fading now, and he needed to get to a phone... All he could hope for was that Kaname was taking a break...
Zero had been surprised by how all the pain seemed to drop in between the contractions, giving him a much needed break. And as he soon was trying to catch his breath, his eyes set down to the phone sitting on the nightstand not too far away... That was his salvation... Grunting as he managed to step away from the wall, he dropped his hand down to his stomach as he took the unsteady steps towards the nightstand.
That was until he started to feel a rather... unwanted sensation. It started by the wetness he felt in his pants, slight at first. And as the hunter was mourning the thought that maybe she had pressed against his bladder, he was soon met by the sound of a splash on the floor.
Well... There went his water. Now what the hell was he going to do.
Feeling his face pale away as he listened to his water dripping onto the floor bit by bit, he knew that it was now or never. Kaname needed to get home. NOW. Zero had no clue that he was able to move fast enough to get to that phone, or how fast he had dialed the number. But as he pressed his other hand down onto the nightstand to give himself support as he tried to rock his hips again to rid the sensation of pain, he prayed that the ringing would end in a voice...
"...H-hello? ...I-I need you to give Kaname a message. Now."
"Good evening, I'm sorry but Lord Kuran is in a meeting right now. May i take a message for you?"
Being polite as she possibly could, Celina pulled out her notebook and pen and waited for a short message to give to her leader. Though she couldn't help but be mildly curious. Who would call up demanding to speak to 'Kaname' Not many people were known to call him by his first name, let alone do so in front of someone who worked with him.
More confusion crossed her face as the sound of panting met her ears, then a soft groan or two. Ah, it was a prank call. This had been happening a bit lately, though mostly with names of the other aristocrats being left instead of Kaname. In fact it was quite rude that they would even use his name for such a childish thing.
Hanging up the phone quickly in order not to clog up the lines, Celina went back to her paperwork that had been placed aside for now, only to be interrupted with yet another call. Answering that one with the same politeness she had previously, Celina frowned as even more harsh pants met her ears.
'T-tell him the b-buns coming out of the oven'
What? If she even thought of disrupting the meeting for such a thing she would surely be punished, there would be no way she would risk her own life for the sake of a prank call. "Im sorry but as i stated earlier, Lord Kuran is busy and will be for the remainder of the day. You can call when he finishes work, good day."
Hanging up once again, Celina pinched her nose in irritation. This was getting too far..
Of course in the meeting room things were quite boring, both Kaname and Kyoshiro were glancing at the people in front of them, feigning interest in the paperwork they were discussing. There would be no lunch break today, something Kyoshiro was quite angry about.. Kaname just really wanted to return home, he had a feeling he would be needed.
"Fuuuuuuuuuck...!"
As the phone was slammed down onto the nightstand, Zero couldn't stop his head from hanging down as his pants continued again. Another contraction was coming, and it was the worst one yet... And no matter how much he thought that he was prepared for all of this, prepared for the contractions and knowing that their daughter was clearly on the way, he knew that nothing could prepare him for the pain...
And the loud snarl of pain had quickly told him that he wasn't ready. His hand clenched onto the bottom of his stomach as he felt his muscles clenching up tight as a rock, to the point that he could have sworn that she was being pushed out right now by the force. The snarl ended in a soft hiss as he tried to time out the rest of the contraction, but he could feel his body trembling from weakness.
Why couldn't Kaname leave him the damn number for the doctor...! Why hadn't he thought of this happening sooner! And why the fuck had he agreed to have sex last night. That probably was the cause of all of this, he just knew it...! His rigid body tried to force its way through the labor pains as much as he could, but he was realizing that rocking his hips wasn't helping any more...
And as Zero slowly pulled his head back and looked over his shoulder, he couldn't help but notice that the door to the 'birthing room', where they had set up all the instruments needed for scans and finally the birth, was taunting him. He needed to lay down... All he could do now was wait and hope that somehow that a message would get through to Kaname, that his lunch break would come and his partner would be home...
Though as he slowly pulled himself back up to his feet once the contraction had passed, but had left him breathless, he couldn't help but swipe up his phone once more. He wasn't giving up without a fight... He would call until this phone went dead, as much as he could, in any attempt to have Kaname hear something. Maybe if he just called and started screaming that Kaname needed to get the fuck over here, then he'd overhear it...
And so slowly, the pained hunter started to slowly yet unsteadily walk his way over to the door, clutching his phone by his side. And by the way that his hand was crushing the doorway as he grabbed it for support as he staggered his way into the room, it was obvious that this was the start of a long, and horribly painful day.
The only thing that was keeping him going was the thought of tearing Kaname apart when he got home.
Are you all ready for the final chapter :3 I sure am~ Though it might take a day or two because of editing Dx I'm completely changing the birth because the first time I did it, it was... poorly written .-. It was a year ago. So it will take some time to get this all ready to go, but let's see how it's going so far!
1. Zero's in a lot of labor .-.
2. Kaname has no clue and is an hour (at least!) away
3. Celina needs to stop being a biatch and let Kaname know what's going on.
and 4. ...No doctor :D
