Coulson's POV

I jumped a mile in my seat as May suddenly shot into the room. My book jumped out my hands.

"Bah!" I was on my feet. I noted her expression in a second. "Are you alright? What happened? Did Fitz set the lab on fire? Are they alright?"

"The—the—" She began, her arm spinning to point out the door. "You or that double of you! Just popped out of nowhere!"

It took a few seconds to register that due to the pitch of her voice. Through my time I never heard her voice have that unless she was laughing, hysterical or acting.

"What? Me? Where is he?" Now I felt glad we were on their ass. We had something that proved we weren't just chasing the wrong tail.

"He's popped away! A couple of seconds arriving from the Cargo hold!" She clipped her fingers. I shot to my feet and heads straight to the cargo hold.

"You won't find anything!" May called before suddenly appearing on my side.

"But we have something." I stated, hurrying down the stairs till I was facing the two vehicles.

"Something wrong, sir?" I heard Simmons call. I span over to the lab. Fitz and Simmons were working on something, I didn't know what?

"You two, were you in the lab a couple of minutes ago?"

"I went to pick up a few magnetic couplings," Fitz answered, tad confused. I looked to Simmons.

"I needed the loo." She answered, blushing. "Did something happen?"

"My double happened!" I stated. They both blinked. "Skye, I need you down here." I called in. "Get the footage of the cargo hold."

"On it. Something happen?"

"Watch and find out." May answered, unamused.

"Fitz, I want to scan the cargo hold, see if you can pick up energy readings and report it back to me. " I headed back up the stair. I found Skye in the command centre tapping away.

"I found what you were looking for. There's no audio which was expected. All footage of the Cargo hold is stored on an off side hard drive. The camera there is really just there as a precaution, to see if the bus has unwanted visitors. If anyone sneaks onto the bus it will record it."

Skye explained sending a video to the monitor. She played it.

I saw the back of May walking over to the SUV, checking to see if it was operational for the next missions but behind her was a sudden spurt of what looked like white smoke for a split second before a body fell out but remained his balance. May jumped in pure surprise even before he landed fully, her posture changing from surprise to defence. The double seemed to have taken a quick view of where he was then in the same effect he disappeared.

"He's a teleport?" May said from behind.

"Which means he's next to impossible to capture and contain." Ward concluded from the door way. "That's going to be a fun ride. Make us all look like idiots in the meantime."

"HQ going to ask questions."

"We can tell them we're investigating a suspect group, nothing more. They won't bother for details." I explained.

With my double, he could take the whole of his group away to a place in a split second, we'd be using time we didn't have. We didn't know what the others could do and if they would affect us or the people around them.

"I found footage on the double, an hour before, he walked out of The Theatre with a collection of envelopes." Skye said, on a different tablet. "Must have gotten apart. Let me see what's on." She began to tap away.

Ward spoke next, "Sir, it occurred to me, if they're in the area, should we be finding where they're staying? Hotels, apartments, It's unlikely they have their own house in the city. They'll be records."

"Then you can search them. I want to get in front of them before we get too far behind."

"Ha here it is, there's a play due in a few weeks, a modified version of Shakespeare's play Much ado About nothing. They've just cast 6 roles in the past day. It's a live performance but will be recorded with cameras."

"Can we get tickets? If they're staying out of sight then we'll need to know what they're like and how to counter them." Ward suggested.

"Possibly."

"We'll need proper disguises though. If our doubles are on stage, we might get mistaken as one of them and get dragged onto the stage." May added, folding her arms.

Skye paused then chuckled, thinking of it. "Yeah, a complete make over."

"Maybe Fitz can develop a few things; I don't want to put on a wig." Ward concluded.

"Energy patterns are usual but I think I could possibly create a few devices that should warn us of the same thing, possibly a way to track them...it's very concentrated so the energy partials are suspended and probably won't disappear until someone disrupts it by walking through it." Fitz called before he was even in the command centre.

"Good, get on it as soon as possible but first we'll need 6 devices that will alter our appearance." I countered. His nodded, getting into a discussion with Simmons.

"Now we know of one their powers, five more to go." Skye commented, folding her arms, though I sensed she was very interested in her double's power but cautious of what it was.

"Don't worry, we'll observe before making contact." I reassured.

"I know."

"Should we have a few agents undercover, I have a feeling they know our faces, well yours does at the least. I know he'd told the others."

"What if they can read minds?!" Fitz suggested, breaking momentarily out the conversation.

"Let's just get one thing sorted at a time." I didn't like the idea of mind reading though.

"I've got an idea." Fitz started. I can create a hologram projector watch that should modify facial features to the on lookers."

"When can you have them done?"

"I can have the blueprints done by tonight. I'll have to think over all the things I need and how it would work."

"Good, I want at least two done before the play." He nodded, disappearing to the lab.

"Skye, keep doing what you're doing. I'm going to talk to HQ." I headed off to my office. We could do with some undercover back up.
