Chloe's POV
"So," Brett started, looking to everyone, "Everyone knows how to control their powers yet?"
I chuckled. "When I laugh, I blow the lights out, sneezing causes a power shortage." That was all too much fun to see the length I could do without trying.
"Not what I meant." He shrugged, "But as fun as it is to see, I don't think the normal people will know what goes on if you fart the lights out."
I giggled, the picture popping into my head. There was a soft ping but no power out.
"As long as I don't sneeze it'll be alright." Clark mused, flicking though his book.
"We all know what happened last time. Shame you didn't bring a camera." Ming chuckled.
"I would have loved a picture." Clark agreed.
"I don't think May would appreciated it." Lil commented, appearing beside Brett, making him flinch. "Still, I shall enjoy the mental picture."
"Everyone in check? Good. Off to work we shall go." Iain too the lead, running out the door.
"Rid of the Monkey Tail!" I shouted, spotting it.
"Aw" I head him whine before we assented up and out the ARC.
We were in a different location this time. Maybe even closer to the theatre than before.
"When do we have to be at the theatre?" Lil asked. I looked to my phone.
"Half an hour." Clark answered. "Good thing, now we have time for a coffee and a outside rest."
"True, It was getting stuffy being in there." I agreed.
"Cabin Fever." Ming added, shaking her head, she smiled and headed away.
"So does the door move or the whole ARC?" Lil asked Brett.
"I have no idea." He answered. "Maybe you could check that out later."
"Chloe, can you run system checks." She called to me.
I shrugged. I had no idea how but my power would do it for me. "When I can."
We headed down to a café and took up a large table, Ming taking the orders to the counter. I pulled out my phone and began to flick through the internet. A sudden idea popped into my head. Pocking my phone I pulled out the ARC laptop (it had six of them.) and easly hacked into the internet. It was absurred but very plausible but…
"What you doing?" Clark ased as the screen whizzed about, putting Clark's name into the search bar.
"A whole new universe, want to see if there's a version of us here." He looked to the screen as I said it.
There was a pull up and a Wikipedia page came up. I saw his face before looking down…
Clark Gregg, 45, one wife two children. Artist.
"No way!" He gaped pulling the screen to him.
"What?" The others got out their seats and clambered about to see. Ming returned to the kafuffle while I tried to reach out for being rescued.
"Help me!"
"What's the problem?" She laughed, not helping. I snatched the computer and opened another Tab, elbowing for space.
"You will get your turn!" I warned, slapping hands way., Iain and Lil headed back to their seats, taking out their phones
Ming-Na Wen.
There were a couple of tabs before I opened up Wikipedia.
"Look!" I said, pulling her into the seat next to me.
"Ming Na Wen, 44, two children but pregnant with twins! God that has to be the weirdest thing to hear."
I taped up imaging, Ming instantly took my laptop from me.
"Twins!" She whispered, her faces shocked.
"And you're younger too." Clark pointed out. He was on his phone, searching his other self.
I began to search for myself. But the excitement instantly dropped as my Wikipedia page came up.
"What? You alright?" Lil asked. I put my phone down.
"In this world… I'm dead." Everyone glanced up. that had killed my happy mood. "She and her family got caught in a crossfire shortly after the Battle of New York. She was 19." It felt strange now. To know I was dead in this universe but alive…
"I'm sorry." Iain said. The others puttingtheir stuff away. I snatched a coke.
"It's alright, just disheartening. Anything interesting with your counter parts? Lil?"
"25, lives with her boyfriend. Acts as a doctor in ER in the UK." Lil answered.
"Iain Daestecker of this universe is 13." He answered, unamused. Brett's laugh was the loudest followed my Ming's cackle.
"13!"
"You've had your laugh." He muttered but I saw he was smiling. "Brett what about you." Chaning the subject.
"34, singer/model, has a ten year old son and three year old daughter, His wife sadly passed away last year." He showed us the screen of his double, that looked a little older then he was, a boy by his side but had his featured mirrored into his face. In his arms was a young girl with the same black hair and brown eyes as he had but her face was different. "I always if I had a son, what he'd look like."
"Like you, You had to pass down those handsome looks along the line. They have both your cheek bone." Ming praised, "Love the cheek bones."
Everyone agreed verbally to that. Brett just grinned and shook his head. Ming glanced to the clock.
"okay, we have to go in twenty five minutes so drink up." She said.
Iain just burped loudly in response. I burst into a fit of giggles.
"It's nice to be back with normal people."
"Thanks."
"You know what I mean." Lil answered back, flicking Brett's arm making him wince. Hard and sharp nails.
"Excuse me, I'm going to the loo." Iain said, getting out room the table, heading away. We all slipped back into conversation.
" no, no, no, I prefer mixing the red with the blue, then you get a weirdly nice purple middle." Lil was saying, describing the drink selection back at the ARC.
"But have you mixed blue and Yellow? Because-"" We were suddenly interrupted as Iain came hurrying back
"We need to go." he said as he got into hearing rage.
"What did you do?" Clark whispered, looking about.
"I did nothing, two guys cornered me after I did up my zipper!"
Ming swallowed down the rest of her coffee and collected her bag, I followed suite and crushed my can.
"We can talk later." Lil said, getting her stuff. We all hurried out and down the street, heading straight towards the theatre without stopping. Only at the doors we slowed.
"Ladies first." Clark said, opening the door for me.
"Thank you." I said, heading down the hall. This was going to be fun.
