Chapter 11
Mings POV
The changing room of the theatre was great. Looking through the selection of costumes was fun. Until I was handed one ancient Greek robe and forced into a changing room. I came back out and met the others in my new attire in a make-up room. Chloe was standing with Elizabeth with the other girls but no male was in site yet
"Getting distracted again?" Chloe teased, dressed in an identical outfit, only slightly bigger fro her slightly taller frame.
"They have so many styles!" I countered, grinning. "Why we dressing up if this is a practice?"
"They want us to perform in costume to get us into character." Said a red haired girl who just entered the room.
"Cool. I love this style." Chloe added.
"You're playing… Margaret, right?" the girl asked.
"Yep," She smiled.
"Cool, I was going for that part but decided not to." The girl answered.
"Okay, Girls." Said a booming voice. I span around to a woman with a clip board.
"Hero, Beatrice and Margaret to the make-up areas, once you're done, go out back to the boys" She instructed. We followed through and took a seat in front of mirrors. We chatted as the make-up crew, fixed out hair and make up before shooing us out for the next lot.
Clark was on his phone in a seat and Iain and Brett were having a stare out.
They appeared to be dressed in clothes of spies, different to HSIELD but obviously spy gear.
"Oh, so you get spy gear and we get towels." Chloe remarked. All three looked to us, two snoring into laughter.
"Oh, Ming! You're back, it's showing!"
"It's not obvious, is it?" I asked, trying to look around to the marks.
"It's in the middle of your back. Of course it's obvious." Iain said, Elizabeth poked his arm and took a seat next to their selection of seats.
I found a seat and waited.
Skyes POV
Apart from waiting, searches found scares of our targets.
We made sure to keep a photo of Coulson up but with photo-shopped glasses with a note stuck on of teleportation. In fact, I had photo-shopped all of our faces to our doubles, adding the new colours in their hair. Security footage showed them in a café. May's double with purple highlights, even her eyes looked to be purple but I would need a better shot to make sure.
Ward found nothing on locally bought houses, apartments or anything concerning the doubles. Like they popped in and out of existence every time they wanted to. It was interesting yet frustrating.
Fitz had been working very hard on his designs, swapping ideas and arguing with Simmons who had bit and pieces of jewellery, no doubt for exterior appearance.
It wasn't until it was a few days before the first night of the show that we were all called down to the Lab.
Both Fitz and Simmons were standing next to the holocomm with a sheet covering lumps under it, big smiles on their faces.
"Sir, we've managed it!" Simmons bubbled excitedly, almost fidgeting with excitement.
"Care to show us these things or are you going to make us guess?" Ward asked, folding his arms.
Fitz pulled back the sheet to expose a collection of small ordinary looking things.
Hearing aids, three sets of ear rings, three fake studs, three metal bracelets, what looked three chokers, three wrist guards. And to complete the odd assortments of things, there was what looked to be a collection of small white boxes.
"Okay… explain." I stated.
"Well the chokers are for us girls, these will change our voices slightly, higher or lower pitch. The ear rings for the girls send a pulse to each other, projecting a new hologramic image over our faces, but we'll need to either plant microchips along the muscle lines to help coincide expressions or we place a thin translucent plastic over the points, the bracelet stabilises the image." Simmons said, pulling out a injector with a very small end. My mind went for the second option.
"What are the hearing aids for?" Coulson asked.
"If they know who we are then they'll know we'll have comms, these will look like hearing aids but they act as a comm, also it allows us to hack into the microphones so we should hear the actors and doubles clearly. On the back we can make it quieter or louder."
"Since it's only a few days away, I don't want to risk breaking them, we can only use edited faces. Eyes will need to have contacts in. We need to dress in what we wouldn't normally dress in, for example, Ward would have to wear my style so I had HQ get you a few sized bigger version of blue jeans, jumper, no blazer but a check shirt. Your hair will need to have a wig on, preferably Blond for the face I've chosen for you." Fitz grinned.
Ward closed his eyes, a tweak in his jaw showed he wasn't happy.
Fitz pulled out a pile of clothing in a packet of plastic, brand new.
"You found us all faces?" May asked, amused.
"Yes, I'll just bring them up." Simmons said, bringing up a picture on the monitor.
They all had labels on under them all.
Ward's hologramic soon-to-be face was rounder, his eye shape notably different, though I could tell Blue contacts would go quite well, it even said at the bottom the appropriate colours for the face.
Simmon's one was a timid looking face, shallow cheek bones and a pasty skin, but the stricter looked to be different. Green contacts for that one. I could tell make up would be the requirement and rocky clothes.
May's one still had her Chinese characteristics to it but there were obvious tweaks made to a the facial structure, her cheek bones more prominent, her face thinner. No contacts were required for her. Though a black wig would be needed for a better effect- optional though. A dress or skirt for her.
I wouldn't have known it was her if it worked.
Coulson's one looked to have the same age, though a wig would be required, comfort clothes and not tie would work. I hadn't seen Coulson without a suit.
My one looked to be similar but a wider forehead, different shaped lips and nose I saw with annoyance a wig was listed and blue contacts. Normal clothing.
Fit'z one looked to be completely different, thin, pale, black wigs needed, there was even a gothic look to him from the expression. I shorted
"I didn't chose my one." Fitz muttered, blushing.
"Why couldn't we chose our own face?" Coulson asked, snorting at the pictures.
"You were al busy, I didn't want to disturb you but I picked the ones that were most flattering, except mine. Also We've got ID for our faces" He glowered at Simmons who rolled her eyes.
"Can we try them?" May asked, she seemed pleased though I couldn't tell from her expression.
"Yes, I think we should all wear them when we're around each other, so we recognise each other in the crowd. If you could…" Simmons gestured to May for come closer. May compiled with folded arms and a neutral expression, even when Simmons places the little dots of plastic on her face. May herself put in the ear rings and the necklace and hearing aids.
"Okay, get everything? Good, Fitz?" Fitz tapped something on the computer and then clicked something of May's bracelet before the bracelet flickered then May's face suddenly morphed as a picture seemed to flicker and settle. Simmon's held up a mirror.
"Maybe we need to modify some eyeliner and Lipstick, keep in-line with that…" She mused.
I couldn't help but feel impressed at the length it had gone. If it weren't for the hair or clothes, I wouldn't have guessed it was May, though her sardonic expression on her face was familiar.
She turned her head a few times in the mirror, examine her new face with a curt nod.
"And the voice?" She asked.
"We'll make it a fraction of a pitch lower but with a higher tone. So it doesn't sound off, I'll need to calibrate the choker to your voice, that's they it needs to be close to your voice box." Fitz explained.
"And us guys?" Ward asked.
"One stud in the ear, not piercing is necessary so it sticks on, Ive modified the hearing aid on the men's to act like the other ear ring. The wrist band looks more manly than the bracelet but they all have the same purpose." Fits said, handing the stuff out to us. I began to put mine one, allowing Simmons to do her stuff before my face chancged.
"I have to say it Fitz, You're a genuine." I chuckled, looking down.
"Thank god someone thinks so." Fitz grinned. "There's a pile of clothes in the corner, if there's nothing you like then swap with each other."
Nodding we all scrambled for our new attire, an excitement in the air.
Okay, I'm so sorry. This story is harder to write than I thought! I had to do a time jump, more exciting things happen after the Play, I don't even know why I put one in there.
Thank you all who've stuck with me, The hiatus with AOS is ending, that might feed me ideas for more chapters, hope so! Also I have a few stories you might be interested on a different account, AgentMelindaMaysClone, Please could you read them and post what you think! I'd love feedback from all my stories.
