Chloe's POV
It felt a bubble of relief and stress was all over the stage and back stage. Props were beginning to back the stages up, I could hear the sounds of everyone leave but I could constantly feel a different type of buzzing different form the buildings main power and props. The phones were easy to recognise but it was different.
We were all handed our pay in our changing rooms, quickly dressing back into our casual clothes. I met Ming and Elizabeth in Ming's changing room. She was sitting on the back on the chair, her feet on the seat part. I briefly wondered how she was balancing before letting it slide.
"You were brilliant" I cried hugging Elizabeth as I got into the room. "As we all did so well,"
"Yeah especially when you ripped the door off the frame, huh, Ming." Iain said, pulling on his jacket as he also walked in.
Ming smiled sheepishly, "It was an accident."
"I thought you had it down though after." Clark announced, popping in behind. I jumped, the lights flickered. "Everyone played off it well and it added more humour which was brilliant."
"Thanks to Iain." Brett called.
Iain pretended to blush, playing off that comment dramatically but puffing up his chest looking important.. "Why thank you my fellow subjects. Thanks to my improvisation to Ming's accident that has given me this honour. Would you now accept this invisible check for a million dollars?" Iain pretended to hold something out to Ming who was on the verge of laughing..
I giggled, the others as well.
"Why thank you," Ming said, going along with it. "I only have myself to blame this generous offer of an invisible check."
"You earned it, you super strengths know no bounds. Spend it wisely." He finished with a bow.
Ming couldn't seem to hold it anymore laughing loudly though misbalanced on her chair, sending her flat on her back, her feet the only thing left in sight. That set everyone off.
I found myself on the floor holding my sides, my stomach aching. There was a pop then a thud which set Ming off again and Elizabeth. Clark must have teleported into a wall by accident. The though sent me laughing again.
"I..think…we need to separate for….a bit.." I could just make out. My stomach was aching but I couldn't seem to stop. "I wish….we had…an….empath…Ha!"
Clark grabbed Iain and Elizabeth before they were gone. I felt myself beginning to calm down now, my breathing slowing but I couldn't stop my face from grinning like an idiot.
"Okay." Brett panted, puling himself up into his feet. His hands on his stomach "That was great. Though Chloe, you need to stop jamming the electrics."
I nodded, taking a few deep breaths before clambering up and helped Ming up off the ground. She rubbed her back a little.
"Back ache?"
"Little." She sighed. "Let's get back, I want to stretch out a bit."
"Cramped?" Referring to her wings
"It's been 4 hours… so yeah."
"Figured how to fly yet?" asked Brett,
"If I get over my fears of heights and falling, I think I could make a lot of progress." Ming answered grabbing her bag and stuff. I pulled on my jacket, collecting the other's up as well which had been left behind.
"We could push you off the top of a building, see how that goes." I suggested. She shot me a stern look. "What? It's not like I'm going to kidnap you in your sleep and shove you of the Eiffel tower."
"That doesn't sound appealing either but the first option is better." Brett concluded.
"How is getting shoved off a building better than off the Eiffel Tower?" Ming asked dryly opening the door. I heard a small scuffle from behind it but I ignored it following closely behind the other two.
"You won't so sleepy." Brett suggested with a shrug.
"Thanks. I do get a choice though."
"We'll blind fold you." I grinned. Slinging my arms around theirs though failed with Brett's height.
"Great." Ming sighed sarcastically.
"Don't worry; if you fail we can always scrape you off the pavement." I said jokingly, patting her shoulder.
"You're not making it better!"
"I know, I'm not trying." I grinned. Ming rolled her eyes while Brett laughed at this.
We headed out the building in further silence though perfectly comfortable. I plugged in my headphone and began to listen to music, stepping out of line from the other two though hummed the tune.
I clipped my fingers to change the track, grinned as it did so. Oh I loved having this ability! Suddenly I became aware I was walking across the road but the sudden blare of light clouded my sight, I could feel the horn suddenly blaring. I was too slowly to move, both Ming and Brett were only a few steps ahead of me, they would get hit as well.
I closed my eyes then the sudden arms were around me before I opened them to see myself at ARC's living room. I turned wide eyed to see Clark stepping away, also letting go of Ming who was clutching Brett's arm.
"You're welcome." Clark said, stepping away and pulling out my head phones, "You were about to get hit with a semi-"
I didn't hesitate to jump and give him a hug. "Thank you!"
Ming joined in. "Thanks." She sighed, "Now we don't have to walk back now."
"Blame Iain." I spoke up.
"Hey, I'm right here." Came his voice from behind. We parted from each other and found a seat.
"It's late, why don't we pack up to sleep." Brett suggested.
"Good idea, hopefully I won't get hit with a semi." I sighed.
"you might, in your dreams." Ming suggested, headed away.
"Shut up, you're not helping." I called.
"I know, I'm not trying." She called, disappearing from view, her door shutting with a click.
"A cruel irony." Clark chuckled. I stuck out my tongue before heading off to bed. Hoping the semi wouldn't catch up to me.
