Title: Miko and Shinigami Love
Rating: T
DISCLAIMER: Inuyasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi and Bleach belongs to Tite Kubo. Two respected mangaka! I do not own the characters in any way nor the story plot. Only the idea of this fanfiction!
MizukixTsukiyomi's Notes:It has finally been resumed in revising. Hope you all enjoy! I have decided to cancel out the Yuuko (XXXHolic) idea as there was no way I could incorporate her further into the story!

REVISED: December 08, 2014
The school routine had ended with the both teens walking home together. Having subtle conversation between each other, Ichigo gave the female miko a small smile noticing the shrine's stairs in view. Pausing, Kagome faced the orange head and gave him a small bow: "Thank you for walking me home, Kurosaki-san."
With a small nod, he chuckled under his breath: "Only logical since we are neighbors now."
"I guess you are right," she returned the laugh. "I apologize for my friends frightening you right as you walked into the gates. Quite sure that is not how a new transfer wants to be welcomed."
"Trust me, I have been 'welcomed' in the oddest ways," he whispered as he changed his view to his right.
"Huh?"
"Oh nothing," he replied shaking his head before he spilled anything more. "Well I guess-"
"Kurosaki-kun!"
Both teens blinked at each other before turning their heads to the left and noticing a girl with strawberry colored hair walking towards them waving with a wide smile. From what Kagome could see, she looked to be extremely excited over something.
'She called his name…maybe a friend of his?' she questioned herself until she noticed another petite female and three males appearing behind the strawberry haired girl. 'Huh?'
Ichigo blinked once and then twice and came to realize that his friends from Karakura Town had arrived. "Guys? What are you all doing here?" A kick flew onto Ichigo's cheek, throwing him down to the ground. The petite female huffed in annoyance, watching the orange head glare at her with anger.
"Oi! What the hell was that for, Rukia!?" he shouted as he came to stand back up.
"Whose fault is it that he did not give us the information he moved?!" she argued back.
Ichigo's eyebrow twitched: "I have not even seen you in two months! How was I supposed to contact you!?"
Kagome watched the interaction that was a total shocker for her. Was it not easier for them to communicate through a phone? Wait…who were they anyways?
"Oh?"
Hearing a soft female voice beside her, the miko looked to her side and noticed the strawberry head female staring at her with curiosity.
"Are you Kurosaki-kun's friend?" she smiled.
Kagome gave her a small bow: "Oh…um I guess so."
"Hm, Kurosaki already made friends," the male with glasses spoke, walking from behind the busty female. "A female nonetheless."
"Oi, watch your mouth, Ishida," glared Ichigo.
"Um, sorry but who are all of you?" Kagome tilted her head to the side in confusion. She wanted at least an introduction to these people.
"Sorry about this, Higurashi, these are my friends from Karakura Town…um this is Inoue Orihime, Ishida Uryuu, Sado Yasutora, Abarai Renji, and the one who kicked me is Kuchiki Rukia," he rubbed his cheek.
Bowing slightly once again, Kagome smiled: "Nice to meet you all. Higurashi; Higurashi Kagome." She observed the lot of his friends in front of her, smiling upon seeing the life and laughter they brought. 'So this is what it must feel to have a lot of normal friends in this era. I have been spending so much time in the Feudal Era I forget to even socialize.'
"So…you are his neighbor?"
Kagome was brought out of her thoughts as she heard the Orihime girl ask her a question. Blinking, she replied: "Huh? Oh…uh yeah," Kagome pointed behind her, directing to the stairs, "I live right here up the shrine stairs."
"Oh? So you two go to the same school?" smiled Orihime enthusiastically.
"Orihime…can you not see we were coming from the same direction?" his eyebrow twitched.
"Yes, we go to the same school," answered Kagome. She was not going to be rude to someone she had just met.
"Well, if this idiot ever tries anything towards you, feel free to come to us so we can kick his ass," Rukia spoke as she directed a glare to the orange head.
Ichigo's eyebrow twitched again: "Did you come to give me a hard time?"
Hearing a small chuckle, all eyes landed on the miko. All blinked for they were confused at her laugh. Renji raised an eyebrow: "Do we amuse you?"
"Sorry," chuckled Kagome. "I just have been um…sick for a very long time that it has been awhile that I was surrounded by people my age."
Confusion hit everyone until Kagome was able to calm herself and take a breather: "Well, I better get going. My family is waiting for me," she gave one last bow. "It was nice meeting all of you today." Waving to the group, she took a step up and stopped. "Um…," she turned her head over her shoulder to look at Ichigo, "Kurosaki-san, would you mind walking tomorrow to school with me?"
"Hm?" he blinked. "I don't mind. Same time as today?"
"Sure," she smiled, glad he had not rejected her offer. She actually had liked talking to him and being able to have someone to walk with to school. In fact, it helped her forget about the feudal era and Inuyasha. Even if she felt guilty for forgetting, she needed some time for herself.
The group watched as Kagome left their sights as she reached the top and into her home. Ichigo turned towards his group with his eyes narrowing in question: "So…what is the reason?"
Knowing that he had caught on, Renji took a step forward: "There is something we need to inform you with."
Nodding, hinting at the seriousness, Ichigo walked forward and led his friends into his new home. Glad that his sisters and dad were not there yet, he freely spoke out: "So, what is this information I need to know?"
Rukia walked into his room after he and everyone else walked in. Sighing loudly, she crossed her arms and watched him close the door.
"I will get to the point."
Walking into her home, Kagome began to take off her shoes and slip into her slippers: "I'm home." Her eyes glided back up from the floor and walked forward to the kitchen as she heard the sounds of water and cutting. "Okaa-san?"
Upon entering the kitchen, Kagome frozen in place as she noticed two familiar people helping around making dinner.
"Oh? Honey you are home," spoke her mother as she carried a tray of side dishes.
Kagome's eyes widened more as the two familiar people turned to face her. The woman with a high ponytail smiled at seeing her close friend and walked over to her after setting down the knife: "Kagome-chan! It is so nice to see you again!" Bringing her into a hug, Kagome barely was able to make any words come out of her mouth.
"S-Sango!?" ending the hug abruptly, Kagome looked straight into her brown orbs. "What are you doing here!?"
Nervously, Sango blinked: "Well Miroku, Shippou, and I arrived here today with-"
"Inuyasha…," Kagome's eyes widened. "Where is…he?"
"Kagome…"
Hearing the whisper of her name, Kagome slowly looked over her shoulder to see the familiar hanyou standing there with a sorrow look.
"Can we talk?" he asked, ignoring his friends and Kagome's mother walking back to their tasks.
Gaining her strength to reject his favor, she walked past him and up towards her room: "There is nothing to talk about, Inuyasha."
Sighing, he knew that she would have reacted that way to his question. He followed behind her, making her stop and sigh in annoyance.
"Stop following me, Inuyasha."
"We need to talk, Kagome."
"I already told you we do not," she opened her door into her room and sat at her desk to begin her homework tasks.
"Look, I apologize," he whispered lowly.
"For what?" her hands flipped the pages through her math notes, ignoring to even look at him directly.
He remained silent for her question.
"Being silent is not helping your case, Inuyasha," she picked up her pencil to begin until Inuyasha's voice brought her out of her task in front.
"Kagome…there is something else you must know. I know you are angry with me and you have every right to be but this is important."
"What is it?"
"Sango and Miroku did not notice because I smelt something come into the well when we all jumped in."
"Smelled something?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Something came in with us."
"A well?"
Ichigo blinked, crossing his arms as he sat on his desk's chair looking at Rukia like she had been hit by a rock multiple times. Since when did Soul Society become worried over a well. An old one nonetheless. No one used wells. It is a history thing now.
"Yes a well," she answered.
"Okay, although I am confused as to why Soul Society would send you two here after a stupid well, may I ask where this well is located? Not many exist and most are used for tourist," he informed.
"Rukia states that it is located near a shrine," spoke Chad as he sat on the floor comfortably. "Don't know many shrines here in Tokyo that would have a well."
"Your friend mentioned that she lived on a shrine, right?" Renji's eyebrow rose in question.
"Friend?" whispered Ichigo. "You mean Higurashi?"
"Does she have a well by the shrine?" questioned Rukia as she crossed her legs.
Ichigo's eyes narrowed at the obvious answer: "No, Rukia. I have not even set foot up there. I just met her this morning."
"Well, we are going to have to find out," she whispered as she placed her hand on her chin thinking to herself.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" the orange head raised an eyebrow.
Rukia sent a smirk ahead: "What other way is there? Obviously blend into their new town and become friends with her."
"You cannot be serious…," Ichigo's eyebrow twitched, catching onto her intention.
"We will be needing new uniforms," she nodded to herself after looking at Renji with the same expression.
Ichigo smacked his hand onto his face, not believing what he was hearing. Orihime chuckled: "It will be nice having old friends with you at this new school, Kurosaki-kun and besides, Higurashi-chan seemed like a nice girl. She could show you her shrine some time."
"Question is…," whispered Uryuu, "if she does have a well – what does Soul Society want with it?"
Standing from her seat, Kagome looked at the hanyou with a wide expression of denial. She took a step forward towards him: "What…did you say, Inuyasha?"
His eyes avoided hers. His gaze firmly onto the ground: "I-I'm sorry…"
"A sorry will not undo what has been done!" she exclaimed. "Not only did you bring yourself and my friends from the feudal era here but…Naraku as well!?"
