Quinn stirred when she heard the bedroom door open.
"Hey" She said sleepily looking over at Chuck.
"I wasn't expecting you to be in here" He said quietly as he started to get undressed. Once he was down to his boxers he climbed into bed cuddling Quinn from behind "I'm glad you are though"
"What time is it?" She asked snuggling back into him.
"7am go back to sleep" He told her kissing the back of her head.
She wanted to ask him how his night was after she left but she was still so tired and so comfortable with him holding her she fell back to sleep almost instantly.
Chuck had arranged for a member of staff to look after Lola because they would both be out most of the day and he didn't want Quinn to get up any earlier than she had to.
It was only a few hours later she was up getting ready to go and meet her friends at the shelter. Chuck woke up as she was getting out of bed.
"Go back to sleep I'll meet you at Lily's" She told him.
He was so exhausted from working all night he didn't need to be told twice.
Quinn went through into her own room to start getting ready. She straightend her hair and put on her make up. She decided on her white knee length dress, navy cardigan, brown belt and flat brown riding style boots. She met Puck down in the lobby with Santana. Britney had travelled back to be with her family. Kurt, Blaine and Rachel were meeting them there.
"Good morning beautful" Puck greeted her with a hug.
Santana mumbled something that sounded like a hello from beneath huge sunglasses.
"Are you ok S?" She asked as Santana held he head.
"I'm fine lets just get going" Santana replied with a sigh "But I need coffee on the way"
Rachel, Blaine and Kurt were already inside when they arrived. Quinn had done the same thing every holiday since Sam and his family had ended up homeless. She liked to try and give something back even if she didn't do as much as she should. She had stopped going to church since she had been in the city and honestly she was feeling bad about it. She decided she was going to get back in touch with Joe and start going again. They had served up so many meals and Quinn felt worn out. She took a seat next to Santana who was finally starting to brighten up.
Rachel, Kurt and Blaine were all going out for dinner. Santana and Puck were joining Quinn at the Van der Woodsens. It was already nearly 4'o clock and she was running late as always. Chuck had text her to tell her he was already there. They caught a cab uptown.
"I just wanted to thank you guys for coming with me today" Quinn said getting out and walking towards the building.
"A day with most of my girls how could I say no" Puck joked.
"Where is Kim?" Santana asked following them inside.
"She's with her family but she understands I wanted to be with Beth" He replied.
"So this is where super bitch and the step Mom live?" Santana joked looking up at the building as the doorman let them in.
"This would be it, I've never met Lily" Quinn replied"Why did I say i'd do this again?"
"For Chuck now calm down" Puck said putting a hand on her shoulder.
Quinn's nerves were settled when she saw Shelby and Beth were already there. Dan and Jenny who she had already met were setting the table. Beth came running over as soon as she saw them come in.
"Hey baby girl" She said giving the little blonde girl a huge hug.
She really was a mini version of her.
"Did you have fun in Disneyland?" She asked
Beth nodded and smiled as Puck picked her up for a cuddle.
"I saw Elsa" Beth replied trying to get back down so she could get to her toys to show Quinn.
"Hey Quinn this is my Dad Rufus" Jenny said introducing everyone
"It's nice to meet you" Quinn replied "Thank you so much for having us all over"
"Are you kidding I love having everyone here for the holidays" Rufus said with a genuine smile.
Quinn thought Rufus seemed like a decent guy and that was a rare thing around here.
Lily came down the stairs with her hair in an elegant updo. There was no mistaking who she was.
"Thanks for inviting us Mrs Humphrey" Puck said as she reached the bottom on the stairs.
"Well any friend of Charles is welcome" She said with a smile.
Quinn couldn't help but feel she wasn't as genuine as Rufus was. But then Serena was her daughter so she wouldn't be too thrilled to see Quinn there.
Beth was happy showing Jenny her new dolls so Quinn took some time to catch up with Shelby. They'd had an amazing time at Disneyland Quinn was sad to have missed it. She looked trough pictures of Beth with all her favourite characters.
"Hey sweetie why don't you let Jenny get up?" Shelby said as Beth had moved on to pulling out all of her colouring books.
"She's ok really" Jenny laughed
The elevator doors opened and Chuck walked in with Nate and Serena right behind him.
"Right on time dinner is ready" Rufus announced placing the turkey on the table.
Quinn barely got a chance to say Hi as Rufus was ushering them all into their seats.
Quinn found herself between Chuck and Santana and opposite Puck, Nate and Serena.
"How are you feeling?" She asked squeezing Chuck's hand.
She knew he'd barely gotten any sleep and she was worried about how hard he'd been pushing himself for work.
"I'm great, last night was a sucess and I get to spend today with the people who are important to me" He replied.
"I'm glad to hear you say that Charles" Lily said with a true smile on her face.
"Well success means more when you have someone to share it with" He sad squeezing Quinn's hand back.
Quinn could feel the glares even though she wasn't looking over at Serena or Nate. Serena was furious that Nate was so bothered by Chuck and her being together.
"So Beth" Quinn said changing the subject "Have you thought about what you want to ask Santa to get you for christmas?"
"She's not jewish?" Puck asked half way through a mouthfull of turkey.
"A pony" she replied but continued to look thoughtful "Or a Baby doll"
"You have to be good for presents" Santana told her "Santa see's everything"
"I'm a good girl Auntie Satan" She replied with a serious look on her little face.
Quinn almost choked on her water.
"Baby i think you mean Auntie Santana" she managed to get out.
"That's not what Mommy says" She replied shaking her head.
Quinn tried her best not to laugh but Chuck and Puck couldn't hold back.
Beth looked confused about why everyone was laughing.
"Lizard baby" Santana muttered.
"Hey!" Quinn exclaimed.
"Kids" Lily forced a laugh taking a sip of her wine. "So Noah what do you do?"
"I'm in the airforce mam" He replied with a salute.
Quinn smiled and Santana rolled her eyes.
"Mommy I'm sleepy" Beth said rubbing her eyes.
"I guess we should be going" Shelby said stroking Beth's hair.
"Don't be silly she can go for a sleep in Jenny's room, we haven't even had dessert!" Rufus exclaimed.
"I'll take her" Quinn said standing up and picking up Beth.
Jenny pointed her in the right direction of her room.
Quinn tucked her in and stroked her hair back.
"Will you sing me a song?" Beth asked.
"Sure princess which song?" Quinn asked with a smile.
"A Disney one" She replied with a little yawn.

"That's got to be the cutest thing i've seen you do" Chuck whispered wrapping his arms around her from behind "But don't tell anyone I said that"
"Your secret's safe" She smiled leaning back into him "She's just so perfect"
"You're perfect" He told her kissing her neck lightly.
"We better go" She whispered but Chuck didn't let go straight away.
"You know you mean the world to me don't you?" He asked turning her around to face him.
"I know" she replied looking him in the eye "And I love you"
She took his hand and lead him back to the living room where everyone was sat talking. Shelby, Dan and Rufus were bonding over some play Quinn hadn't even heard of so it was pretty out there. Serena and her Mom were talking about some fashion show. Chuck decided to try and clear the air with Nate so Quinn decided to sit with Jenny because she was sat alone.
"Hey Jenny are you ok?" She asked kneeling by the fireplace with her.
"Yeah it's just weird being back here" She shrugged.
"I heard you're back for your senior year here, how's that going?" Quinn asked.
"Awful, everyone just remember what I did" Jenny replied.
"You know I went through a lot in high school and people were awful to me. They would talk about me, throw slushie's in my face" Quinn told her.
"What did you do?" Jenny asked
"I reminded them who Quinn Fabray was and I was a bitch, but then I realised I had some real friends who would like the real me who didn't have to put on a front to get respect. I wasn't the most popular girl in school anymore but I was happy" She replied.
"I'm not sure who I am sometimes" Jenny admitted.
"I think you're a strong girl who made a few mistakes, you have an amazing sense of style. Maybe a little bit too much eyeliner and you're a good person" Quinn told her with a smile.
"Quinn knows about high school comebacks" Santana said joining the conversation "She's had more makeovers than anyone including pink hair but she still has a band of followers living by the code What would Quinn Fabray do"
"Are you serious?" Nate asked.
"High school cheerleading royalty" Quinn laughed.
"You should see the hatemail they've been sending gossip girl after those blasts" Santana added.
"Pink hair?" Jenny asked looking at her own.
"Don't even think about it" Rufus told her without looking up.
"What if you're mistakes were really bad?" Jenny asked not feeling convinced.
"Teenage mother" Quinn replied.
"Lesbian sex tape" Santana said.
"All around womanizing legend...but kind of a dick" Puck added.
Quinn rolled her eyes and slapped his arm.
"It doesn't matter what you did it matters what you do now and what you want to do after this" Quinn told the younger blonde "I got out of that small town and go into Yale. I started over and I'm happy which I never thought i'd be, just ask these two"
"She was a psycho" Santana replied and Puck nodded in agreement.
"There will always be mean girls just don't let them get you down and don't be one of them. I've been on both sides and it's about finding the right balance" Quinn finished with a smile and gave Jenny a hug."If you want we can go shopping some time"
"Don't do it she'll turn you into a mini Quinn" Santana warned.
"I like Jenny's own style" Quinn said defending herself "I just meant a girls day"
"I'd like that" Jenny replied.
Shelby had taken Beth home so Jenny decided to go to bed and work on some of her designs.
"Thank you for that Quinn" Rufus told her "Jenny has had it rough and it's nice to know there's someone looking out for her"
"I know what it's like to feel lost" She replied "Jenny is a great girl she just needs a friend"
"It's a shame her family weren't as understanding" Dan said standing up.
"Is that aimed at me?" Serena demanded.
"Well you and Blair didn't make life easy on her" Dan told her.
"She deserved what she got!" Serena shot back.
"Serena that's enough" Lily warned before turning to Quinn, Puck and Santana "I'm so sorry"
"It's like a real thanksgiving now" Santana shrugged.
"Oh so you're apologising to Quinn now, she's so perfect?" Serena asked raising an eyebrow.
"Leave Quinn alone" Chuck warned.
"Maybe we should go" Quinn said standing up and walking over to grab her coat "Thank you so much for a lovely evening"
Chuck, Quinn, Puck and Santana decided it was best to let the Humphrey/Van der woodsens sort their differences alone.
"I'm proud of you Q" Santana said when they were safely outside."You spent a whole evening not talking but not arguing either with Nate and Serena"
"Progress" She laughed."So what should we do now?"
"Well Puck is going home to Kim and dropping me to Brtiney on the way" Santana replied pulling her coat more tightly around her as the wind was picking up.
Quinn hugged her friends goodbye, kissing them both on the cheek.
"Just me and you then" She said looking at Chuck.
"Good i've wanted to get you alone all night" He replied leaning down to kiss her.
