Welcome to the 23rd chapter of the Wave, with what happpened dring last chapter, but with the Normos vs. Skylar. Let's see if the Normos have the power to take down Skylar Storm. But first, I respond to the reviews:

barbara-loveskoliver000: We'll see right now how that ends. Thanks for reviewing!

LabRatsWhore: Yeah, someone had to go undercover, and it became Titanio. And yes, the Annihilator did shoot Horace! Will he make it? Thanks for reviewing!

daphrose: Thanks for your review, and I can't help it you catch up whenever I wrote a cliffhanger! But luckily for you, I decided to update today so you won't have to stick with that awful cliffhanger too long. And if Horace lives/dies... it all depends on the Healer.

Enjoy!

Skylar Storm was trying to find Kaz and Oliver.

She had no idea why she was searching for these two Normos in particular. But she did know the Annihilator wanted to get rid of the Normos, because they were one of the few people standing between him and world domination. And if the Annihilator wanted to kill Kaz and Oliver and didn't get the chance, Skylar would take it.

They wouldn't harm her. She just knew it.

They had been friends before she realized she could better serve the Annihilator than to fight him. They had been going to school together, had some fun adventures together, they had become the best of friends the past year. They would not even harm her, especially since they knew what kind of powers she had. They would never dare to attack her like Gus and Jordan.

She just got out of the way of Titanio's stun ray. She should've known Titanio would be a softie and return to his old habits – to the losing side – at the last moment. She shot an energy blast at the Normo hero, knowing it might damage his suit beyond repair, and if it hit him and not the suit, he might die.

He deserved it, that traitor!

She turned around and saw how Kaz and Oliver were trying to open the cage. Gus and Jordan didn't want to – why did Titanio keep attacking Skylar? She turned around, irritated and shot two energy blast in his direction, hoping he would die, that stupid Normo who didn't seem to know who the superior hero was.

She turned back to the Normos, and before she could reach them – she already saw the fear on Kaz and Oliver's faces – she stopped in her tracks. Her eyes crossed Oliver's before his turned to the cage. She could hear what he was saying over the noise.

She was doubting.

Why was she doubting? She knew her objective: kill the Normos. Yet why did she feel bad when it came to Oliver? She wouldn't cry if Kaz would drop dead, but Oliver… she was making a big deal out of it? Why did she? He was just a pathetic Normo, a helpless Normo who deserved death for trying to thwart the plans of her master.

Did she like him?

No. Skylar shook her head. Off course she didn't like him – at least, not like that. Did she? No, that was impossible. She was an evil supervillain, and he a good stupid Normo. They were opposites. They would never get together.

Something hit her in her side. She was pushed down the ground and she immediately hit her attacker in the jaw. She pushed the young man she's never seen in her life off her. He had a bleeding nose, thanks to Skylar, and struggled to get up. Skylar was angered.

"Stay out of my way, Normo!" she demanded, and the young man shook his head.

"Normo? I'm not a Normo, you…" Before he could say anything else, she kicked in his crotch and Skylar left him to suffer. She then turned to the Normo she did not like (or maybe she did) and the other three who totally deserved death.

She didn't show any emotion. She had orders to follow.

When the Annihilator yelled that his henchmen had to attack, everyone reacted.

Everyone, except Kaz and Oliver.

They both tried to stay out of the fights. Yet, their plan wasn't as handy as they thought it'd be since there was almost nothing to hide behind, except the cage in which Jordan and Gus were placed. And even then, they didn't really hide, as they tried to get Gus and Jordan free.

"Don't do that! Do it after the fight is done!" yelled Jordan. She rather stayed in her safe cage. Even if she had to share it with Gus of all people, she rather stayed in here and be rescued when all the fighting was done. But apparently, Kaz and Oliver didn't share her opinion. She had no idea why they were doing it, but she guessed they either wanted to hand them over to a hero who would get them out of there, or they would try to get in themselves.

Oliver and Kaz looked around as Kaz tried to open the cage. They saw Skylar, and they started to get scared. Off course Skylar would go after them, they were easily overpowered by her, even if they outnumbered her. Oliver turned back to Kaz when they looked away.

"She's coming for us!" said Oliver.

"Well, I'm doing this as fast as I can," Kaz replied, knowing Oliver meant to say he had to hurry. They needed to get them out of here. Kaz and Oliver, they knew what to do in an environment like this, being made tough by the weekly attack on Mighty Med, often performed by Megahertz who almost always got away.

Would he do it?

Oliver placed his hand in his pocket, grasping the piece of coal. If the moment was there, would he be ready to hit her with it and stun her for the time being. He had noticed guards from the Mighty Max and Med had arrived, battling the heroes, successfully taking down a lot of heroes, one by one. They could easily take a stunned Skylar Storm away, just as bringing Gus and Jordan away from the battlefield.

What to do when you need to take down one of the people you cared most about? He loved her more than anyone in the world, and he had no idea if he would be able to cope with the pain he might give her, with the pain she might give him.

Well, Oliver thought as he glanced at Skylar, fighting that new kid of the SSHH, when the world's at stake, all your dreams change and every step you take is for another's sake. And if she grows to hate me, I won't change my course of heart. I'll keep loving her and I will not stop until she's good again.

"Almost done!" Kaz informed Oliver. He nodded and turned to see where Skylar Storm was now.

And apparently Skylar Storm was standing right in front of him.

Skylar, his Skylar, was standing there, arms crossed, not really ready for combat, but he knew that she would kill him whenever the Annihilator gave the sign. And he knew that, if it really was necessary, he had to take her down, for everyone's sake. For the world's sake.

"Prepare to die," Skylar said. Oliver saw how Skylar generated her energy blasts, and he immediately shouted some words which might make her stop, or she could be held up for some time. He hoped someone had his back, but every hero was too busy.

"Skylar, please! You don't want to do this." Skylar grinned.

"Off course I want this." She said, but she didn't really sound convinced. Oliver took his chance.

"You can still change sides."

"It's too late to do that." She said, fully convinced of her cause. It was too late to betray her master now. She chose to obey him, after he showed her how exciting the villain life was. She had to follow orders, even if she might hurt her feelings. She did not need her emotions to lead her. Not anymore.

Something hit her in the back of the head. Both Skylar and Oliver were surprised. She picked up whatever was thrown at her, and found it was a shoe. When she turned around, Gus was boldly standing, fear present on his face, wearing only one shoe. Kaz and Jordan were standing away from him, trying to sneak past Skylar towards Oliver.

Now she was pissed. Last time, she might have held back on him because she knew they could be extra bait if they didn't come for Horace. But now, now she had orders to kill the Normos, including the ones they caught before threatening to kill Diaz, so she didn't hold back. She shot an energy blast at Gus, and he was hit. He flew back and hit the wall, a few feet above the ground, and he fell down on his stomach. He didn't get up.

Then, in a rage, Jordan threw herself on Skylar, screaming "Oh no, you didn't!" Nobody had the right to ridicule Gus except Jordan. It was just the same as this morning, only Skylar forgot to turn invisible now. Oliver took the coal out of his pocket. When Skylar tuned to Oliver, with Jordan still on her back, he placed the piece of coal on her forehead and kept it there until she lay on the ground.

Skylar Storm was defeated by the power of Normos.

"Oliver, where'd you get that?" Kaz asked. Oliver looked at it.

"After learnings he was evil, I needed a plan B just in case ours didn't work. I'm carrying a piece of coal so I could have a feeling of safety." Kaz nodded. He could've thought of that, but he didn't really care about it. He had always relied on the plan of the Dagger, but they gave it back to Optimo, who didn't use it in combat. They looked around, seeing how they were winning.

"Get them out of here. Skylar Storm's knocked out." Kaz said when three of the guards hurried towards them. One of them called back-up to carry Skylar to the Mighty Max, while two guards with a teleportation device went to Jordan and Gus. Jordan was sitting next to Gus, who still hadn't moved since he was thrown into the wall. One of the guards mentioned he had to be taken to the Normo hospital immediately, and Jordan was taken with him.

When they were just taken away from the battlefield, they heard a gunshot ring through the air. Everyone turned to the source of the sound, seeing Alan and the Annihilator. The villain was holding the gun he had pulled out of Alan's hands, aiming for the doctor. Alan stood as if he was frozen, shocked and sad, watching his hurt uncle. The villain threw the gun on the ground. Tears welled up in Alan's eyes.

Kaz and Oliver were shocked as they saw how blood left the body of their boss. Without thinking, they rushed to his side. They were the ones saving the people who saved the people, and Horace Diaz was one who saved the people who saved the people, deserving the medical attention. Behind them, the SSHH and the Dark Warrior threw themselves on the Annihilator, overwhelming him.

Optimo didn't fight the Annihilator, how much he liked to do that. He had to contact the Healer, the only man capable of rescuing Diaz right now. This Healer could be found in the Normo hospital, to do the things he was good at, but his specialty didn't have much customers, so the few more dollars he earned by helping out he SSHH (in all secrecy, might I add) were welcome.

"Why not?" Optimo asked the Healer by use of the phone, "C'mon! I know you don't want to do this right, now but it's Horace freaking Diaz we're talking about! There's nobody who can replace him. Please, just this once. It doesn't matter if the Normos are there. They need to know, eventually." He hung up the phone, and told Kaz and Oliver the Healer was coming.

"Who's the Healer? Is he coming?" asked Oliver. They didn't need to wait long before someone came here with the help of a teleportation device. A middle-aged man with a small suitcase stepped closer and immediately shook Optimo's hand. Oliver's mouth fell open when he recognized the man, and he stepped a little closer.

"What's he got?" asked the Healer, who looked like your average American father.

"Nothing you can't handle. Shot in the stomach, I hope you brought your stuff."

"I always have." Answered the Healer, and he pushed Kaz out of the way. He joined Oliver and looked at the Healer. He was astonished, now they were one of the few privileged to know who the Healer was. Kaz' mouth also fell open when seeing the Healer's face.

"I did not know he's the Healer," Kaz said, sounding a little accusing, looking at Oliver.

Oliver finally something to say, eyes never leaving the Healer. "Dad!?"

You didn't expect that, did you?
