Welcome back. I would say more the same but considering we have been at this for twenty chapters I'll save it for the last sentence. Now let us continue.
The sun was higher with the intense rays to illuminate the lobby, it was bustling with employees.
"Where did you go?" Lili asked as she pressed the button for the elevator.
"Just to have lunch with the other contestants." The doors opened and Liam rolled his shoulders back.
"Lovely, Leo is waiting in your room with Asuka and Combot."
"Gee, when did you become her secretary?" Liam prodded.
"Quiet you!" Lili glared.
The elevator doors opened then the two returned to his room.
"About time you showed up." Asuka folded her arms. "Is your moody session over?"
"Yeah, I was mad but I cooled off." Liam shrugged. Looking at the couch was Combot watching cartoons and there was some sort of giant robot anime on.
"When did you allow Combot to do that?"
Leo was sitting next to Combot with a cup of water.
"Don't know, Asuka was flipping through channels as it was staring outside the window. When the TV arrive to this channel it rotated its head and sat down. Nothing good is on anyway so I joined it in the spectacle." Leo explained as Liam walked behind the couch.
"I have thought about I have the chance to watch TV, should be interesting to see how it will interpret this." Liam thought out loud then he returned to the other matter. "So what was it that you wanted to talk about?"
Leo flicked the TV off to Combot's dismay. "I was going to tell you, I need your help with this whole Mishima Zaibatsu." Lili and Asuka sat down too. Asuka made it first to the single person chair before Lili. Lili frowned at Asuka and Asuka used her index finger to pull below her right eye and stuck her tongue out. "I want to learn the truth of why my mother died. The Zaibatsu is hiding something within itself. The project labeled NT01 has been appearing over and over. So what I believe that to be my starting point. Initially I thought you were some new mercenary to work for the Zaibatsu, I'm glad the thought was wrong."
"Okay, so what does this have to do with me?" Liam asked.
"I need you to go far into this tournament. I believe Heihachi has some sort of plan for you, and if my assumption is correct I can go further in my investigation. This has to work, I don't have any alternative here. So can you do it?"
The invisible spotlight flicked on again. If Leo is correct that could ruin his chances to for Heihachi to go through his proposition from before. But Leo helped save him from a beating, tolerate him in school and has fate now. Damn, it is so difficult to have a conscience.
"I'll do it. So you just want me to compete right?" The spotlight faded from Liam.
"Correct, Lili and Asuka are here because I trust them as much as you."
"In case you're wondering, if we have to fight, I won't just give up." Asuka joined in.
"I am in agreement with our ally." Lili said proudly as she tried to shove Asuka off the chair.
Liam turned to Leo. "With them gunning for me too, is that okay?"
"Heihachi is monitoring the fights, if they let up he'll know. So with that in mind if you get knocked out there is always next year, this year is for me gather information if possible."
"Alright then, what about Combot here?" The robot didn't move and Lili tapped its shoulder. It unresponsive.
"You didn't turn on the TV when he showed up right?" Liam asked.
Asuka picked up the remote. "What happens if I say yes?"
"Nothing. I'll just lift it up and take Combot to the roof. It is on sleep mode for that the battery is low." Getting hold of the right arm of Combot, Liam lifted the body on his back and was ready to carry. "If one of you be so kind to open the door and let me through so it can recharge on the roof."
Leo was the first to get up and opened the door. "I'll be back in five minutes." Liam said.
The robot was surprisingly light. I must have a decent size frame for the hand to hand combat. If it was heavy several movements would have been impossible. Nice one Violet. Liam processed as he entered the elevator. To the roof was a card reader for the contestants and there was a railing with safety nets two feet below. Liam walked to the center and set Combot down gently.
"So what do I do now?" Liam looked downward with his right hand on his chin.
After a moment the machine turned on and sat up and its arms was shifting apart and from the side was smaller pieces of a reflective panels. All linked together and the robot leaned back as if it were relaxing for a sun tan.
"Great to know you're happy. I'll be in the room, see you later buddy." Combot returned to staring at the mirror.
Upon entering his room Liam noticed the three having a fun time. He told them to leave because he wants to nap before the matches that night. He looked at his watch to see it was two in the afternoon.
"Come on you're not still mad are you?" Asuka questioned.
"Nope, just want to be ready." Liam hand his hand on the door.
The three left the room and Liam slept until six for that the fights take place at seven. When he awoke Combot was in the room too watching TV as he dressed himself for the matches tonight.
He decided to wear a dark blue t-shirt with a cyan blue shorts. The lack of length can help with his movements. After ten minutes Combot and Liam left for the bright arena via offered transportation.
After twenty minutes the place began to roar with new matches. Liam looked around to see everyone ready. To those he knew they greeted and each on was ready. After four matches it was Liam's turn now. His opponents to be the deadly duo of Jaycee and Armor King.
Liam walked first out of the balcony, he turned to Combot. "So, shall we get started?" Combot walked behind him to the arena
The Leo arc is much longer but the progression can't happen until the tournament moves forward too. This chapter was going to be longer but it would've been rambling. So thank you for reading and please review.
