Journey To The Emerald Isle: Chapter 6: Search For The End Of The Rainbow

Patrick circled around Erica and the unconscious Benny, his red beard quivering. Everyone around him seemed to had stopped moving. Erica knew that it was Patrick's doing.

"What are you?" She said, growling as she bore her fangs. Patrick grinned. "Leprechaun. That is me last name." Erica suddenly face palmed. "Your last name is an anagram. I am so so so stupid." She said, groaning. Patrick gave a hearty laugh.

"Well ye young lassie," He said, glancing down at the sleeping Benny. "It would've been good to know beforehand." Erica also looked down at the spellmaster on the ground. He looked so peaceful, yet so in pain. His emerald eyes were shut closed tightly. He didn't even seem like he was breathing for god's sake! Erica looked at Patrick in fear.

"What did you do to him?!" She yelled furiously. Patrick nonchalantly walked around her, stroking her hair seductively.

"Added to my little fountain of fun, if ye must call it that." He said secretly. Erica hissed at him in fury. Patrick rose his hands in defeat.

"Well, I may have stole the little maggot's soul. Then plopped it into a fountain so he stays there. FOREVER." He cackled as Erica's eyes widened.

"What?!" She almost screamed. Patrick grinned as he grabbed Benny's limp arm.

"I guess if you want both him and the gold back, you are gonna have to take a little trip to the end of the rainbow." He clumsily bowed, mimicking Erica.

"'Till next time my beautiful lassie?"

And with that, he snapped his fingers and he was gone in the blink of a eye. Benny also disappeared as he and Patrick disappeared in a puff of green smoke. Everyone around Erica unfroze as they all started to do as they always did before. Erica slipped on her glasses and threw off her brown wig. No one saw her speed off, ready for an adventure.

Rain dropped on the sidewalk as Erica finally reached her destination.

The Lucky Library.

She dashed in, hair wet as she stepped into the vibrant store. The vampire owner smiled at her.

"Welcome back ye young lassie. What brings ye here on this wet day?" Erica rolled her eyes.

"Cut to the chase old man. Where are the two books I bought?!" The man frowned. "Why, a young lad claiming to be ye charmer returned it last night. Why? It was a empty book anyway. No pictures, no nothing." He said in defense. Erica's eyes widened. "Did he have emerald eyes and shaggy brown hair?" She asked hopefully. The man nodded. Erica groaned; Patrick had got here first.

"Where is the book?" Erica asked in a rush. The man shrugged. "Exactly where you got it." Erica quickly thanked the man as she searched through the supernatural aisle once more. She finally found the Dusk romance book and the other book she got as she flipped through the pages.

She had remembered seeing pictures of gold and her family heirloom in the books, but the pages were blank and had no pictures. Erica sighed; the gold must have magically been placed in there so Patrick could hide it. But when she bought it, Patrick must've returned them and magically taken the gold out of the books and to his hiding spot. Erica groaned as she looked at the window desperately. That is when she saw it.

Among the dark clouds, in the midst of the growing blue sky, was a rainbow. Erica gasped as she sped out of the book store, her mind racing. What if this was the end of the rainbow?

She followed the rainbow, looking up occasionally to see where the rainbow was. Unfortunately for her, the rainbow continued to move, so she didn't know where she was going.

Discouraged, she sat down on a bench as she looked in the pocket mirror she brought. Erica felt really discouraged right now. How was she ever going to find the gold? Worse of all, how was she going to find Benny? His soul was stuck in the fountain, and who knows what he could be doing in there? No reflection was shown on her mirror as she groaned.

She was a vampire. And she failed protecting her loved one. How was she supposed to pull off a Dusk when she cannot even conjure up a relationship and protect it? That is when she saw it.

In the empty mirror, light reflected off the mirror screen as a small shine of rainbow bounced off the glass. Erica curiously saw it bounce off the glass of as she saw it shatter on the floor. Erica saw as it layered on the sidewalk. She grinned. A rainbow trail.

Following the rainbow trail, she sped off to find her loved one and the end of the rainbow to find the pot of gold.

Erica followed the rainbow trail, all the twists and turns making her sick. Finally, she reached the end of the line. She gasped, turning around to see where she even got to. She gasped when she saw what was behind her.

The whole rainbow was spiralling behind her. Which could have only meant one thing.

"I am at the end of the rainbow." She said in awe, not believing how she even got there in the first place. This was supposed to be a challenge, getting to the end of the rainbow. But here she was. And all she needed was a mirror she couldn't use.

"Well. Welcome young vampire. Surprised ye sorry butt even made it this far."

Erica turned around to see Patrick. Patrick was standing near a majestic fountain, sprouting water at every turn. Patrick was decked in a green suit like a cliched leprechaun would do. But the one thing that caught Erica's eye was Benny.

Benny, eyes open, stared right at her. His emerald green eyes glistened in the rainbow's light as the rainbow consumed all the light and shadowed over them. It felt as if Erica were in a rainbow lit room. Erica ran right to Benny, hugging him tightly.

"Oh my gosh Benny...Benny..." She repeated his name through kisses. But there was one flaw.

Benny stayed still.

Erica let go of the stilled Benny, staring straight at what he was wearing.

He had a grey marble suit, and his emerald eyes glazed back to a grey to match what he was wearing. His skin shattered to marble. Erica's eyes widened.

Benny was grey and stone.

"Let him go! I reached where I had to be." She growled. Patrick flipped a coin. "I don't think so lassie. You need to defeat me first."

He placed down three cards, shuffling them around. He flipped them over and Erica took a closer look at the surreal cards.

They were cards, but they weren't real cards. One had a pair of two people, holding hands. Another had a picture of the newest video game. Another had the picture of thousands of girls surrounding one guy. Erica looked at Patrick in confusion.

"What the hell is this shit." She mumbled. Patrick laughed.

"This is why I like you." He replied smoothly. "These are cards that represent Benny. But one of them is his true desire. And you choose that." He said, laying the cards on the table that randomly appeared.

"How well do you really know the spellmaster?"

A/N- And that concludes that! Next chapter will be the last :(

Sorry this is short, but I really wanted a cliffhanger ending for ya. So enjoy that!

But until then, drop a review and thanks for reading!
