Author's Note: I am so sorry I haven't been updating and I really have no excuse for it. My life is getting really hectic now and I am constantly studying. But I decided I should at least write the last chapter of this story. I've left an open ending so if ever wanted to continue it in a sequel, I have the opportunity. It has been such a learning experience writing this story and comparing my first chapter to this, I've realized that I have grown as a writer and I have to thank you all for your constant support. And even when I haven't been updating in the last four months, readers have still been reading the story over and over and you don't know how much that means to me.
So for the last time… Here's chapter thirty! Hope ya'll like it!
Milori continued to play the song over and over as he gazed at the crystal waters of the lake before him. He wished Clarion had given him more than a verse and chorus to play but he knew he wanted to play the rest with her. Thinking of Clarion, Milori grew more anxious. It had been quite some time since she and her three older siblings had stepped into the Diamond Castle to hopefully encounter their missing parents. He prayed to Mother Dove that she wasn't injured or in need of his help. He always wanted to be there for her. He smiled as the past hectic days rose in his mind. This death sentence of a trip wasn't that bad since he had, had the chance to spend more time with Clarion. She was his everything and made his world go round. He loved holding her, protecting her, kissing her and most of all telling her that he loved her. He hated to see her blaming herself for what happened to his wing years previously. He grew upset as the memory of Clarion blaming herself on the pirate ship I couple of days ago rose.
I found the Queen of Pixie Hollow holding back tears behind an old barrel. It broke my heart to see her so upset about something that wasn't worth crying about. I watched as Clarion wrapped her arms around herself and pressed her back to the wooden barrel and slid down to the floor as she hugged her knees. It was then that I realized how petite she really was. She may be the second tallest fairy in Pixie Hollow after myself, but she still was tiny. I walked up to her to see her face buried in her knees. I squatted down and placed a comforting hand on the top of her kneecap. Clarion raised her head to be met by my warm brown eyes and a comforting smile. I leaned forward and kissed her forehead as I sat down next to her, wrapping a protective arm around her shoulders as I did so.
"Sweetheart, what's the matter?" I asked as Clarion quickly wiped her tears. She sniffled before replying.
"Nothing." She said too quietly for comfort. I sighed and rolled my eyes, as I knew Clarion could be stubborn.
"Well, that's a lot of tears for 'nothing'." I said, lightning up the mood. Clarion giggled and leaned her head on my strong masculine shoulder.
"Are you mad at me?" Clarion looked into my eyes and held back a fresh batch of tears. I immediately shook my head.
"No of course not. Why would you think that I am?" Clarion shifted slightly.
"Just for what happened to your wing…I mean it's my fault it all happened and if I-" Clarion was abruptly cut off by my cold lips. She sighed and kissed me back. I slowly pulled away and looked deep into her beautiful eyes.
"I don't blame you for a single thing. What happened to my wing is in the past and the most important thing is that I have you now." I paused and kissed her cheek before continuing. "Being with you these past few months made me realize that I have everything I could possible need. A woman who I'm in love with and she loves me back, loyal subjects and the most amazing home. I know it sounds cheesy but you are my wings. With wings and Archimedes I can touch the sky, but with you…" I shook my head in disbelief and amazement. "With you I can touch the heavens. Whether you believe me or not, you are my wings and I couldn't ask for a better pair." Clarion just stared at me with tears forming in her eyes and gave me a fierce hug.
"That wasn't cheesy at all. It was the sweetest and kindest thing anyone has ever told me." I smiled at her and hugged her tightly. We stayed like that for a good few moments before I raised my head from where it was nicely nestled on her shoulder to kiss her. Clarion immediately and wrapped hear arms around my neck. We pulled away and smiled at one another.
"Come on, let's get back to the wild bunch." I said referring to Clarion's family. Clarion giggled.
I loved hearing her laugh.
Milori smiled at the sheer thought of kissing Clarion, her warm lips pressed against his icy cold ones. Her beautiful figure pushing at his chest as her soft gasps filled the cavern of his mouth. Milori groaned. He needed to kiss her and to know she was all right. He gazed out towards the lake and watched the fish splash around as they reflected blues, greens and whites. He smiled as he saw petals of some calla lilies blowing in the soft breeze. He took a deep breath and thought of Clarion. He knew she was all right and he knew once she was back in his arms he would never let her go again
He looked down at her letter and ran his fingers of her delicate, joint handwriting. He picked up the instrument that he had removed from his lap and began to strum again and to quietly sing.
David, Louise and Elizabeth observed Milori from afar. He seemed so at peace with the thought of their sister in law. David sighed and turned towards the other females and gave them a heartfelt smile. The all were thinking the same thing. Milori was family regardless of the paperwork. They all knew it was inevitable for Clarion and Milori to get married. They were just right for each other. And Milori was a fitting suitor for the youngest of their family. He held her and provided her the love and protection she needed during the hours of her stressful job of running three seasons singlehandedly.
"He has been there for ages." Louise finally said. "Someone should go talk to him." David shrugged.
"Why?"
"I don't know… I just think he should know we are here for him. I mean I think he feels left out. He has no relation with us. That is if he and Clarion decided to get married."
Elizabeth shook her head with a smile. "We all know they are going to get married one day. I mean he is perfect for her. He will take care of her. But I see what you mean, with Milori feeling out of place for the moment."
"I don't know what you girls are talking about." David interjected. "Milori is family whether or not we have paperwork or a marriage certificate to prove it. We don't need to be blood to be family."
David ran his fingers through his dark hair as he gazed at Milori rereading a piece of paper that they all suspected Clarion gave to him.
"But I'll go talk to him. He should know that he is part of the family." With that, David walked towards the Winter Lord. The female queens exchanged a glance before going to the flower fields a little down the stream to keep their minds of their husbands' absence.
Milori reread the lyrics Clarion wrote again. He could get enough of her way with words and how they were so heartfelt. The shimmering gold sun gave him the light to see her perfect handwriting in all its glory. Suddenly a shadow blocked the golden sphere in the ocean blue sky. Milori lifted his head to see nonetheless David grinning down at him. Milori forced a smile back as David situated himself next to Milori. No words were exchanged between the two adult fairies as they watched the ripples in the water. After some time, David turned to the Winter Lord.
"Are you all right? You've been awfully distant since they left." David decided not to use Clarion's name just encase it would cause Milori to worry more. He just wanted him to relax.
Milori nodded and looked at David. "I'm fine. It's just the last time we were separated it went on for over three hundred years. And I'm just-"
"Milori. I know you are worried about her. I'm worried about Dania, but I know they are strong enough to get out of there with their parents in tow. Besides, Robert and James are with them." David explained as he rubbed Milori's back. The winter male smiled.
"Thank you. Really."
"Its not a problem. But Milori you do know we are family now right? Regardless if we have paperwork or blood or prove it. You are perfect for Clarion and I know when you do get married, you both will be happy as ever."
Milori chuckled and cracked a smile. "When we get married?"
"Oh please! Like you're not going to marry her." David laughed with Milori. When the laughter calmed down they watched Elizabeth and Louise pick flowers.
"I hope they return soon. I really need to know that they are okay." Louise sighed as she picked up some bluebells and added it to the bouquet she was currently creating.
"I know what you mean. But they will be back soon. I promise." Elizabeth said, giving Louise a hug as she did so.
Louise smiled as they picked the last of the flowers and walked towards Milori and David. They smiled at the males and sat down beside them-Louise next to Milori and Elizabeth next to David. Milori and David gave the fairies a hug to comfort them, as they knew they were worried about their husbands and sisters in law. All four sighed as they silently wished that the Diamond Castle's doors would open revealing their loved ones.
"You two holding up, alright?" Milori asked. Louise and Elizabeth nodded and laid their heads on the males' shoulders. Milori and David exchanged a smile as they comforted their family.
The family pulled away from the hug and smiled. Clarion gazed at her parents in wonder. It was hard to think she actually had people to turn to now other than Milori. Clarion knew she bothered Milori far too much with her stressful job but she didn't mean it. She loved Milori and he was the only one she felt love for. She had always been afraid that if she didn't seem him at least once a day she might lose him forever. She never doubted the way he felt about her but when she wasn't with him she knew other winter females tried to have a go with him. But could she blame them? Milori was by far the most handsome sparrowman she has ever laid eyes on but that didn't mean other females could get a little too friendly with him. Clarion giggled to herself when she realized she was actually jealous of the extra female attention Milori received on their outing together.
Roland noticed his daughter chuckling to herself and left the conversation. He strode over to his youngest and wrapped a strong arm around her small shoulders that were slightly shaking with her giggles. Clarion looked up at him in confusion.
"What are you laughing at baby girl?" This caused Clarion to giggle more. She knew that if her father were like the typical, overprotective father he wouldn't be too pleased with her explanation. Roland leaned down to kiss her forehead as he waited for his daughter to answer
"Nothing daddy." Clarion replied playfully.
"Daddy? Last time I heard you call me that, you were four." Roland chuckled as he hugged his daughter closer. Clarion laughed with him and stuck her tongue out playfully. Roland feigned sadness and a pout before lifting Clarion with incredible strength and started to tickle her as her laughter filled the room. Roland smiled as he eventually placed Clarion down and hugged her once more. Clarion gazed up at him filling his heart with fatherly love.
Clarion looked so much like his beautiful wife Maria. The both shared the same striking blue eyes that put sapphires to shame, and the same glorious shade of honey brown locks. Clarion and Maria both shared the same honey coloured skin and the softness of fresh rose petals. Roland leaned down once more and kissed the top of her head as his daughter cuddled further into his chest. He vowed that he would never leave Clarion, his other three adult children and his wife for anything.
The past will not be repeated. He thought as he hugged Clarion tighter.
"So what is the plan now?" Maria asked her family. Everyone muttered to themselves their own ideas before Dania gasped.
"What is it?" Robert quickly asked worried something was wrong with his sister. Dania smiled at her older brother before explaining.
"I just remembered that Louise, Elizabeth, David and Milori are still outside. We should tell them we are all safe and everything has worked out. They are probably worried sick by now." Everyone nodded.
"Can we bring them in?" James asked. "Please." He feigned 'puppy dog eyes.'
"Of course you can." Maria smiled. "I'd love to meet them and so would your father." Maria glanced at her husband and he gave her an approving nod. Their four children grinned and practically ran out the castle to come face to face with their loved ones. Maria sighed as Roland wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"What are you thinking about, darling?" Her husband kissed her cheek and tightened his hug around her waistline. Maria smiled and interlocked her fingers with her husband's over her stomach as she leaned into his embrace.
"It feels like just yesterday we had just had Clarion and the rest were all so young and looking after her. I just… I can't believe three of our four children are married with children of their own." Maria explained, as she craned her neck to look at her husband.
Roland kissed the crown of her head. "I know what you mean, sweetheart. But that is all in the past now. And think about it, we have many grandchildren to spoil rotten together and Clarion still isn't married with children yet." Maria sighed again and closed her eyes.
"I was speaking to Dania. She was telling me how Clarion met a winter sparrowman many years ago and they fell hopelessly in love. That was until he crossed the border that divided the warm seasons and winter, which led to him breaking his right wing. She told me that Clarion passed a law saying no fairy will ever cross again and she and her sparrowman broke up. She didn't see him for over three hundred years before the law was lifted."
"Maria…"
"Roland we were not there for her when she needed moral support. We haven't been there for any of them. We missed three of our four children's wedding for the Neverland's sake!"
Maria began to tear up just thinking about not being there. She closed her eyes as she relived the sweet memories before her four precious children were taken away from her. That was until the image of her four year old girl, Clarion, asking what was happening when she was being taken away from her parents. Maria just told her to be a strong girl and that she and Roland loved her with all their hearts. Before Clarion could reply, she was dragged out by Victoria and sent off to Pixie Hollow.
"Maria, darling, do not cry. I hate to see you any pain." Roland turned his wife around so he was facing her and hugged her once more. Maria buried her face in her husband's strong chest.
"I'm a horrible mother." She sobbed.
"No! Sweetheart the children could not have a better-fit mother. You don't understand how lucky they are to have you. How lucky I am to have you." Roland lifted his wife's face and kissed her quivering lips. Maria was still sniffling but he couldn't care less. As he pulled away from their lingering kiss, Maria wiped her tears with the back of her hand.
"Thank you." She simply said. Roland nodded and flashed her a smile before wiping her tears. He led her to the sofa and they waited to see their son and daughters in law.
"Clarion!" Milori yelled in happiness when he saw his lover and her siblings exit the Diamond Castle that he feared would swallow them all up in its hidden darkness. His outburst caused David, Louise and Elizabeth to turn to see their own spouses standing at the entrance of the palace as well. Milori and the other three monarchs ran to the entrance to greet their loved ones.
Milori wrapped his arms around Clarion and lifted her off her feet. Her laughter caused the butterflies in the flower fields to fly with jubilance. Milori twirled her around and gazed at her beautiful figure. Once he placed her down on the ground, he cupped her gorgeous face and brought her lips into a searing kiss. He could feel Clarion smile into the kiss as she reached up to wrap her dainty arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Without breaking the kiss, Milori backed his girlfriend up to the wall of the palace and kissed her harder. His tongue dipped into her mouth and danced with her hers intimately. When oxygen got the better of the two fairies, they pulled away, panting. Milori gazed through her sapphire eyes that opened to the soul he loved so dearly. Clarion closed her eyes in bliss and laid her head on his chest, still breathing unevenly. Milori laid his cheek on the top of her honey brown hair and breathed in her smell of vanilla and honeysuckle.
"I love you so much." Clarion whispered into his chest. Milori smiled and hugged her tighter.
"I love you with all my heart, my love."
Clarion smiled into his chest before moving her head to come face to face with the sparrowman she loved so dearly. Milori smiled down at her as he kissed her forehead. Clarion's smile widened as it the gesture only reminded her of her loving father. She realized she had everything a fairy could ask for. Loving parents, close siblings and a sparrowman who loved her just as much as she loved him.
"So did you find your parents?"
Clarion was gazing at her siblings greet their spouses. David and Dania were in a passionate kiss with David's arms wrapped around her sister. Robert was hugging Elizabeth closely as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear and James was holding Louise in his arms and kissing her nose. She turned to Milori when she heard him speak.
"We did." She whispered to him. Milori smiled, happy that everything worked out for his lover.
"So… does this mean you are not going to be taken away from me?" Milori asked. Clarion smiled and nodded her head as she brought him down for another passionate kiss. Milori quickly kissed down to her neck and began to focus on her sensitive points. Clarion let out small gasps when he kissed a sensitive area that she didn't even know existed. Milori smiled into her neck and continued to lick it up and down. Hearing his girlfriend emit such gasps caused him to groan into her neck. Being this close was not enough. Why was it never enough?
When Milori finally released her, Clarion went to greet her sisters and brother in law. After all the hugs and the kisses, Robert explained what was going to happen.
"Now, our parents would love to meet you all and discuss with you and ourselves what will be happening now. We need to know when we are leaving, seeing we have all the children in Pixie Hollow and it has been sometime since we have seen or heard from them." Robert said as he looked at everyone. "Does that sound good?" All the monarchs nodded.
"James what if your parents don't like me?" Louise asked her husband as they all made their way to the palace. James chuckled at his wife and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him as they walked. He leaned over and kissed the side of her head.
"Sweetheart, my parents will love you. You have nothing to worry about my darling." James assured his wife. Louise smiled at him and laid her head on his shoulder as they walked through the threshold of the entrance.
Clarion held her lover's hand as they walked through the halls of the palace. She averted her eyes downwards to see her small hand engulfed in her sparrowman's strong masculine hand. Milori noticed her staring at their joined hands and lifted them up to kiss her fingers that were interlocked with his own. Clarion smiled as Milori kissed each finger gently before leaning over to kiss her lips. It was a short and sweet kiss but it was enough for Clarion to feel the butterflies arise in her stomach. Milori smiled at her before turning to look at all the statues.
He took in the statues aligned on both sides of the hall. They were of famous monarchs of Neverland and brave soldiers he recognized from his training to be lord. The carpet was a deep shade of scarlet red and a golden chandelier hung every few strides above their head. The palace was in mint condition as if nobody was living in here. He looked at Robert who was leading the group. His arm was around his wife's waist as he whispered to her. Milori suspected he was telling her to not worry about meeting his parents.
"Here we are." Robert said, turning to his family. "You all okay?" Milori, David, Louise and Elizabeth nodded their heads. Milori turned to Clarion and gave her a smile before kissing her temple.
Robert smiled approvingly. "Here we go." With that he opened the door to see his parents sitting on the sofa. His mother's feet were tucked under her as she sat on the sofa and her arm was around her husband's waist along with her head resting on his chest. Roland had his arm around her shoulders and his free hand holding his wife's over his waist.
Both adults looked up to see their eldest son enter with a fairy by his side. She had silky black hair and chestnut brown eyes. Roland and Maria got up from their position to greet their son and who they presumed to be, his wife.
"Mother, father, this is my wife, Elizabeth." Robert smiled with pride. Elizabeth curtsied to her parents in law.
"It is a pleasure to meet you." Maria stepped forward and hugged the female.
"The pleasure is all mine, Elizabeth. It is lovely to meet the woman who has made my son so happy." Robert smiled at his mother and watched his father shake his wife's hand before they stepped aside.
Dania stepped towards her parents with a tall sparrowman by her side. His hair was dark brown and he had dazzling hazel eyes. Robert noticed with a smile that he head an arm wrapped protectively around his daughter's waist.
"This is my husband, David." Dania introduced her husband. Robert watched David step forward and shake his own hand.
"It's nice to meet you, sir." He smiled politely. Robert smiled back, liking the man already.
"There is no need for such formality David. Please call me Roland." David nodded before turning to his mother in law. He held out his hand to shake, which Roland's wife took gratefully and leaned forward to peck a polite kiss on her cheek.
"It's a pleasure to meet you ma'am." David smiled. Maria gushed at the young man.
"You are so polite. But please call me Maria." David nodded and rewrapped his arm around his wife before they both went to join Robert and Elizabeth.
James stepped forward with a fairy with feisty red hair and brown eyes. She looked so nervous. "This is Louise, my wife." James said proudly as he gazed at his wife.
"It is an honour to meet you, your majesties." She nodded her respects as she looked at her husband's parents.
"The honour is all mine." Roland took Louise's hand and placed a gently kiss on it before Maria went over to give her daughter in law a warm, welcoming hug. James smiled at his wife before they moved out the way to allow Clarion and Milori to enter.
Maria watched her youngest daughter walk in with a winter sparrowman. He had glistening white hair that stopped just above his shoulders and deep honey coloured eyes. His skin was pale and he wore a feather cape that Maria suspected it was to hide his broken wing that Dania told her about.
"I would like you two to meet Milori, my uh…" Clarion looked at Milori and he chuckled at her and hugged her closer.
"-Boyfriend." He said in his deep British accent. Robert and Maria laughed along with the love struck couple. Milori looked towards his lover's parents. He stepped forward to shake Roland's hand. The king took it and realized it was cold but ignored it. "Its nice to meet you."
"Likewise Milori." Roland replied. The winter lord smiled before going over to shake Maria's hand a peck her cheek.
"You look so much like Clarion." He said in awe. Maria giggled and Milori noticed they even had the same laugh.
"I get that a lot." She laughed before the rest of her children joined them.
The family easily broke into conversation with one another. Maria and Roland were pleased with the choices their children made regarding who they were going to spend the rest of their lives with. Clarion always stayed by Milori so he didn't feel out of place because David had told her some of them were worried that Milori felt like he didn't belong. As Milori and her father talked, Clarion was seated next to her lover with her head resting against his strong chest. Every now and then Roland would glance at his daughter cuddling into the winter male's chest and breathing in. His heart melted as he could see his daughter was truly in love with the sparrowman but it pained him to think about Clarion forgetting about him one day. He feared they would grow apart as father and daughter if she got married. He shook his head to get rid of the thought. Clarion was his baby girl. She always has been and she always will be. No matter what happens during the course of her life.
Everyone decided to stay the night in the Diamond Palace to allow Roland and Maria to pack their belongings before making the journey back to Pixie Hollow. They were all served an absolute divine dinner including mashed potatoes, a vegetable salad and some honey nectar to drink. They all made chit chat and it seemed the family were getting on just fine. That night Maria and Roland used four bedrooms they thought they never would need. The parents sent each couple into a room to spend the night. Soon it was just Milori and Clarion.
"I don't think it is proper for you two to sleep in the same room, don't you think?" Roland said sternly as he eyed his daughter. Clarion and Maria couldn't help but giggle at his suspicions.
"Oh Roland. Clarion is a sensible young lady that wouldn't do anything foolish, correct?" Maria turned to her youngest and smiled. Clarion nodded her head firmly.
"I vow to be a gentleman, sir. I would not take advantage of your beautiful daughter." Milori said politely. Roland looked at the winter male and sighed. He turned to his wife and then looked at the couple.
"Fine. But the walls are thin in the palace should you try anything." Roland said with a slight smirk.
"Father!" Clarion blushed. Milori chuckled when he saw her go red in the face. Roland laughed with his wife before they left the couple to head towards their bedroom. It would be the last time they would sleep in that bedroom. Clarion and Milori entered their bedroom.
There was a king sized bed pressed against the wall with silk white sheets, a vanity across from it, and an unsuited bathroom that included a cozy Jacuzzi. There was a bay window that overlooked the garden and lake. Clarion gasped as she stroked the sheets with her hands and suddenly blushed. She and Milori would be sleeping in the same bed tonight. Yes, they slept on the same sheet every night since they left Pixie Hollow but it was not the same as being under the covers on a bed. Milori noticed her quietness and wrapped his strong arms around her.
"What are you thinking about, love?" He kissed her temple and looked at the spot on the bed she was staring at. "Would you prefer for me to sleep on the floor? I can just take a sheet and a pillow and I will-" He was abruptly cut off by warm lips. Milori smiled and kissed her back. As she pulled away, they shared a loving smile.
"Nonsense. I trust you Milori." With that, the pair prepared for bed. Clarion was brushing her long honey brown locks as Milori brushed his teeth with the complementary toothbrush. The two soon were tucked under the covers. Milori lay on his back, shirtless, and Clarion had her head rested against his bare chest. She smiled as she took in his scent of evergreen. "I love you."
Milori looked down to barely see Clarion's face in the dark. "I love you too, sweetheart." He leaned forward and kissed her forehead lovingly. Clarion smiled.
"I'm so glad I don't have to leave anymore." She whispered into the darkness. Milori pulled her closer.
"So am I, darling. So am I." Those were the last words Clarion heard before she drifted to sleep.
"You all packed and ready?" Robert asked his parents as they boarded the birds for the journey home. Clarion smiled as she sat in front of her lover, knowing they were going to be back home very soon.
"Yes we are. I never thought we would ever get our of that place." Maria said as she wrapped her arms around her husband from behind as he directed the bird into the sky.
The ride was a silent and long one. Clarion pulled her feet to her chest and cuddled further into Milori's embrace. She had her long hair down and was simply in a pair of navy trousers with a golden shirt, which was concealed by Milori's jumper. It was still too big for her but she loved wearing it all the more. It was not long before Clarion could recognize the bright colours below to be the land she and Milori ruled over. She couldn't help but smile as the Pixie Dust tree came into sight. They landed by the entrance and the gentlemen helped their queens of the birds.
The sound of children laughter filled the air as seven young fairies flew into their parents' arms. Clarion laughed joyously as she witnessed her siblings hug and kiss their children. Maria and Roland watched how their children now interacted with their own children. Dania had a baby boy on her hip and David held a young girl in his arms. James was holding up a girl as his wife hugged an older boy. And Robert was hugging an older girl as Elizabeth kissed and spoiled two little boys. One by one they brought their children to their parents. It was about time for the young fairies to meet their grandparents.
Robert stepped forward with his eldest daughter and twin sons. "Alice, Matthew, Harry, these are your grandparents." The three children looked up at the adults. Alice noticed her father was an exact mix of his parents.
Maria bent down. "It is lovely to meet you all." Matthew and Harry smiled before running to their grandfather.
"Grandpa! Grandpa!" They cheered happily. Roland chuckled as he impressively picked both of them up.
"Father don't carry them. You might hurt yourself." Robert said as he watched his mother hug his only daughter and whisper something to her.
"I'll be fine, son." Roland chuckled, turning back to his twin grandsons. Elizabeth eventually took her sons and daughter so her parents in law could meet the other children.
"Mother, father, this is Pixie." Dania said indicating to her seven-year old daughter. "And this is George." She smiled as she lifted the baby boy in her arms. Maria smiled as she took her baby grandson into her arms.
"Oh he is beautiful, sweetheart." Maria gushed as Roland twirled Pixie around. Her laugh reminded him of Dania's when she was young and innocent.
"Thank you." Dania smiled with pride as he handsome husband gently took George out of her mother's arms when he began to grow sleepy. Her son laid his small head on his father's shoulder and Pixie followed her father away.
Louise and James made their way to Maria and Roland with a teenage son and a young girl. "This is Sam." James clapped his hand on his son's shoulder. "And this is little Daisy." Maria smiled at the young girl and without a second thought, Daisy ran into her arms.
"Daddy, daddy! Grandma looks like auntie Clarion!" Daisy giggled as Sam talked to his grandfather. The family all laughed and joined in on conversation.
Clarion and Milori walked a bit away from the scene and sat by the fall of pixie dust. Milori wasted no time in kissing his girlfriend lovingly. She smiled and gasped as he moved to kiss her neck. She soon had to pull away when she felt her face flush.
"Later." She whispered. Milori smiled as they held hands and watched the family laugh.
"So much has changed in the last two weeks. My beautiful girlfriend now has found her forgotten parents and her missing siblings. And now I am a part time uncle." Milori chuckled and soon Clarion joined in.
"Who knows what the future holds." Clarion smiled as she looked up at the dazzling sun.
"Whatever happens, I'll be there for you. Forever and always, my love." Milori held her closer.
"Forever and always." Clarion replied. Milori kissed the top of her head as he silently held a ring in his pocket. He knew now was not the time to ask for her hand in marriage. Clarion would be too busy arranging plans with her siblings and helping her parents. But he knew he would know when the time was right. For now courting was more than he could ask for.
Milori looked down. "I love you."
Clarion smiled and pecked his lips. "I love you too, love." Milori smiled as his hand gripped the ring tighter.
Soon. He thought. Soon.
Author's Note: There you have it. The final chapter of 'A Queen's Past but a Princess's Future.' It has honestly been such a learning experience for me to write this story. The reviews and support I got was more than I ever expected. I can see I have grown as a writer and I appreciate anyone who supported me. This chapter is the longest chapter I've ever written- 6,200+ words! I wanted to make it up for the four month wait. Please tell me what you think of the ending. I thought it was cute that Milori actually had an engagement ring with him the whole time but put off asking Clarion so she could focus on getting her parents back. I know many of you wanted Milori to propose in the final chapter but when I was writing it, it didn't flow well so I decided this would work instead. And it was more of an open ending if I ever wanted to write a sequel. Speaking of which, review or PM me if you would like to see a sequel. And since I didn't have Milori propose, the sequel will have a fresh start. But don't you guys worry; these two lovebirds will get married.
Thank you again for all your support and reviews. Remember to review and tell me if you are satisfied with the ending and if you would like to see a sequel or other Milorian story.
And thank you. I really have nothing else to say but thank you~
