Lissa + Christian
When Christian hears the words, "Let's go watch a movie!" come out of Lissa's mouth, he knows he's in trouble. Why? Because Lissa's favorite movies are all chick flicks and romances, whereas Christian's are…not.
He mentally groans. "Do you wanna go see The Dark Knight Rises?" he suggests, already knowing the answer.
His girlfriend gives him a look. "Nah, let's just stay home and watch something."
Christian doesn't like buying movies. They lose their appeal after several re-watches, and he'd rather not spoil memories of good movies. Unfortunately, Lissa does not share the same sentiment.
Which means, of course, that he will end up watching a cheesy romance. Please, St. Vladimir, save me.
"Are you sure? I've heard it's really good," he tries again.
She makes puppy eyes at him. "Can we please stay home?"
He sighs. "Lissa…"
She wraps her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer. "Please?" she breathes out.
His resolve crumbles. "Fine."
She squeals like a little kid and dashes to her movie box, pulling out Titanic, Mean Girls, The Notebook, and (500) Days of Summer. Christian groans. What has he gotten himself into?
She smirks. "You can choose."
He automatically rules out Mean Girls and The Notebook. Dear God.
(500) Days of Summer isn't as bad because they break up, but it's still semi-horrible. On the other hand, Titanic isn't good because the acting is somewhat forced in the beginning. Also, is it even possible to fall in love in, like, three days? But DiCaprio dies, and there's a little bit of violence, which also makes it only semi-horrible. He's leaning toward the boat movie when he remembers the last time they watched it. Lissa ended up swooning the whole time at onscreen Jack and sobbing when he died.
And that was the fiftieth time she'd seen it (she counted).
"Summer," he chokes out, hoping he won't regret it. She grins.
When he relays this story to Eddie a few days later, Eddie cannot stop laughing.
"Dude," he says, "You are so whipped."
