The next night Mika went to The Gigantoplex Movie Theater where she met Sam and Hayley. "Hey girl". Sam greeted.
"Hi guy's what movie are we seeing"? Mika asked.
"We're just waiting on a few more people". Hayley said.
"Speak of the devil here they are". Sam said as three more people joined them in line.
"Hey guys". Hayley said.
"Sup Hayl". Logan said.
"Hey Mika you gonna see the movie with us"? Aaron said.
Mika nodded her head.
"I see you guys already met Mika". Sam said.
"I met her in The Khaki Barn". Michelle said.
"And I met the guys outside the store". Mika said.
"Sweet the more the merrier let's go see the movie". Hayley said.
"Wait what movie are we seeing"? Mika asked again.
"Die Again". Hayley said.
"What's it about"? Mika asked.
"It's about this dude that comes back from the dead to correct the wrongs he's done if he doesn't he dies again and forced to spend a life in hell". Logan said.
"That sounds interesting". Mika said.
"I've been hearing a lot of good things about it". Logan said.
"It's supposedly the best movie of 2010". Aaron said.
"Come on guys"! Sam said ahead of them. As they walked to the theater Logan couldn't help but stare at Mika.
Sure she was cute but to Logan she was hot. Logan couldn't take his eyes off her. Mika sensed Logan's staring. Quickly realizing Mika was on to him he turned away with a small shade of pink on his cheeks.
"Hey random question but are you Goth"? Logan asked.
"What"? She asked.
"I figured since you're wearing a lot of dark clothes and your face looks Goth like I just figured your". Logan stopped talking before he could say anything else.
Mika gave him a funny look.
"No I meant because you're wearing dark makeup and….I….stupid"! Logan said slapping his forehead. Mika giggled and replied.
"No I'm Emo". Mika said.
Logan raised a brow. "Really"? Logan asked not believing her.
"Yes. Why"? Mika asked.
"Because you seem kinda happy and shy for an Emo girl". Logan said.
"Uh…what are traditional Emo girls like"? Mika asked.
"It's not really traditional it's more a stereotype". Logan said.
"Okay what's this so called 'emo girl stereotype' supposed to be"? Mika asked.
"Well stereotypically Emo's are always depressed, hate the world, cry a whole lot and cut themselves". Logan said.
"I'm not depressed or hate the world or cry a lot. Do you think I'm a stereotype of something"? Mika asked.
"What? No! I just thought since Hayley wears black and likes scary creepy things, I just thought you were Goth to that's all". Logan said.
"Oh…..okay then. But you really shouldn't base things on what you hear in the media because they could be sending out false messages about certain types of people". Mika said.
"Like for example you're a cat and they could send out a false stereotype that all cats hate water, chase mice all day long and hate swimming but your more human than animal so it'd be false.
Another thing just because your tall and sexy they may think you're stupid and arrogant. Which I know is not true. Even though we just meet yesterday I know that's crap". Mika said.
"Okay, okay I get the point". Logan said. Logan's kitty ears perked up when he heard Mika say 'sexy' when describing him. "Did you just call me sexy"? He grinned.
Mika blushed and let out a small giggle.
"Hey you too frozen back there, come on the movies about to start". Hayley said.
"We'll be right there". Logan called back. Mika and Logan walked into the movie theater with the gang and sat down.
"What was going on"? Hayley wondered.
"Me and Logan were just talking that's all". Mika said.
"You guys weren't kissing were you"? Michelle asked as a grin crawled onto her lips. Mika turned pink and said.
"No just talking nothing more nothing less". Mika said with her face still pink as bubble gum.
"Ssh the movie's starting". Aaron said shushing them.
An hour and a half later the movie was done it was a pretty good movie it was pretty intense to. So intense that Michelle covered her eyes through some parts. The ending was pretty good to it was touching, intense and sad at the same time. Michelle had a few tears run down her cheeks.
"Man that was awesome"! Logan said blown away.
"Yeah it was"! Aaron said high fiving him.
"It was very interesting how they captivated life and death". Hayley said.
"I thought the special effects were really cool". Sam said.
"The ending was so sweet". Michelle said still sobbing from the movie.
"My first non-North Korean movie I liked it". Mika smiled.
Back in Pyongyang not all movies were Korean propaganda. But most movies that were American/Canadian had to be duded in Korean.
All of a sudden the most embarrassing thing happened Mika's stomach rang out a loud growl. The gang looked surprised it sounded a monster.
"Someone's hungry". Michelle cooed.
"I'm getting kinda hungry to". Sam said.
"Me too". Logan said.
"Same here". Aaron said.
"I think we all could use some foodage". Hayley said.
"There's that the sports restaurant not too far from here". Logan said.
"You mean El Sportos? Sounds great let's go". Michelle said.
The six of them headed down to El Sportos to get dinner. As they were about to get seated someone else was joining them.
"Hi Arianna". Michelle greeted.
"Hello". She said speaking with an English accent.
That was Arianna Sims Michelle's dinner guest and friend she met online over the summer.
Arianna was a sphynx cat her outfit was a yellow t-shirt with a graphic picture of popcorn in a tall white and red striped box. She wore a grey hoodie and a pair of jeans with tan flip flops with a teal gem on top of both shoes. She also wore peace sign stud earrings on both her ears. She had brown eyes with long black mascara lashes and pink lips. She also wore her hoodie up but you'll know why shortly.
(Her names pronounced Ari "ah" na the second n in her names silent)
"Everyone this is Arianna I hope it's okay but I invited one more person to join us if it's alright". Michelle said.
"Cool with me cool with you guys"? Hayley asked the rest.
"Sure that's alright with me". Sam smiled.
"I'm down". Aaron said.
"That's cool with me". Logan said.
"Mika what about you"? Michelle asked.
"Sure I'm fine with that. It's good to meet new people". Mika smiled.
"Cool! Come on let's get seated". Michelle said.
They all went to sit down at a table. Since there are seven of them and the booth table can only fit three to a side they got a chair from another table for someone else who wants to sit at the very end.
Mika decided she wanted to sit at the very end.
"Welcome to El Sportos can I take your orders"? A waitress asked them. Mika stared at the menu before replying.
"Umm…..I think I'll have the grilled chicken burger with fries". Mika said.
"Anything to drink hun"? She asked.
"Cola please". Mika said.
"Coming right up". She said.
Once she got down taking their orders she disappeared back into the kitchen. It's hard to believe that she still worked here after 6 years. As everyone talked they were curious on why Arianna wore her hoodie over her head. It wasn't cold or wasn't because she felt comfortable like that or was it something else?
"Hey um Arianna is it? I was wondering why you're wearing your hoodie inside". Logan said.
"Why do you ask"? Arianna asked.
"I don't mean to pry I'm just curious". Logan said. Arianna paused for a minute.
"Logan what did you do"? Michelle asked noticing Arianna's silence thinking Logan hurt her feelings.
"Nothing I just asked that". Logan said but was cut off.
"It's alright Michelle. Have you all been wondering why I've been covering my head the whole time"? Arianna asked. No one answered but the answer was yes.
Arianna chuckled at their attempt not to hurt her feelings.
"You don't have to walk around eggshells around me I don't mine". The British cat laughed.
"So why do you wear your hoodie over your head"? Mika wondered.
Arianna pulled back her hoodie relieving her bald head to the group. No one had any idea what to say again not wanting to hurt her feelings. After a few seconds of silence Sam spoke up.
"So the reason why you've been covering your head the whole time is because you're bald"? Sam asked.
"That's correct". She said.
"So why are you…um….you know…uh."? Hayley asked nervously.
"Bald"? Arianna asked.
"Yeah". Hayley said embarrassed rubbing the back of her neck.
"It's okay I get this a lot and I'll tell you". She said.
"When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Leukemia". Arianna said.
"Really"? Hayley asked shocked. Arianna nodded her head.
"Did you lose your hair to cancer"? Logan asked.
"No you don't lose your hair to cancer…..do ya"? Aaron wondered.
Arianna shook her head. "No that's not true it's to chemotherapy". Arianna said.
"Are you still diagnosed with Leukemia"? Mika asked.
"No I'm completely clean". Arianna said.
"That's amazing". Sam amazed knowing that Arianna beat cancer.
Once everyone got there food they began to learn more about one another.
Arianna is from Macon, Georgia and she is adopted. She was born in London but she was adopted when she was 5-months-old by two men. Arianna has two Gay fathers. Her real birthmother remains unknown. When she was five they adopted her younger brother Kato from Tokyo, Japan when he was a year old.
In elementary school whenever her dads would pick her up from school kids would ask her questions like do you have a mother or why don't you look anything like your parents? Arianna would lie and say her parents are divorced and her mother was never around. As for the second question she says she was adopted.
Kids at school would bug her about her two dads and says it's not natural. Arianna shakes off and says 'At least my two daddies love me your parents are stuck with you'. Arianna comes from a part of Georgia where not a whole lot of people are of accepting of the LGBT community.
Arianna's old job was at a salon where she was a manicurist. Arianna's really good at doing other people's nails. Unfortunately Arianna was fired. It was for an unfair reason though. It was because she had two dads her boss found out and she was fired the next day. That salon was sued later on.
In September 2006 when Arianna was 13 like she said was diagnosed with Leukemia. She sent her whole year of 7th grade in a hospital bed with a laptop. Since she was too ill to attend her middle school she was virtually schooled. After her final chemotherapy session the doctors had told her and her family that she no longer had cancer and was completely cured.
Despite her hair being gone forever she was healthy. Arianna's hair was dark blonde and it was medium length.
She moved here over the summer and met Michelle over a chat room and have been enjoying each other's company eversince. She will be working at The Khaki Barn next week with Michelle and Aaron.
Michelle use to volunteer at an animal shelter and take care of the dogs and cats. She started working at 'The Khaki Barn' in June. Michelle is the polar opposite of her big sis she's a lot kinder and sweeter then Nikki. In the episode 'Dude of the living dead' when Jen mentioned that Nikki flushed her sister's goldfish down the toilet. That was Michelle she was talking about.
Nikki flushed her fish down the toilet because she accidentally spilled shampoo in the bowl which caused the fish to suffocate and die. Nikki didn't wanna tell Michelle the truth so she flushed it down the toilet. Michelle wasn't stupid she knew Nikki flushed it down the toilet, she knew because by her dresser she found soap suds. Her fishes name was Goldie.
Michelle was 9-years-old when her sister worked at 'The Khaki Barn'. Michelle also loves to read. Sometimes when Michelle's deep into her book it can be hard to get her back to reality sometimes you gotta yell in her ear. Michelle will tend to spend hours reading and will lose track of time because of it. Michelle's a pretty big book worm. Her favorite book is The Hunger Games. She's reading Mockingjay.
Aaron's last job was a bag boy at a grocery store. It wasn't much but it was something. Aaron quit because he just thought he needed to really get out there for a job. Aaron has known Logan, Sam, Hayley, and Michelle since elementary school. He met Hayley in the 1st grade when they were 7. Ever since then they've been best friends. He met Sam when she was in the 4th grade and he met Logan and Michelle when he was 9.
Aaron has an older sister named Cerise who he does not get along with. Their relationship is like Cree Lincoln and Numbuh 5 from Codename: Kids Next Door. Aaron is a like a male Numbuh 5, they both have a sweet tooth and both are really cool. He's also part French.
Only Aaron doesn't speak in third person.
Logan didn't really have a last job his restaurant jobs were in the past not current. Logan has known these guys since he was little. He has an older brother named Brent who works as a male nurse part time. Brent still lives at home but he's saving up for a place to live.
Logan was born in Shanghai, China but he moved to Canada when he was 3-years-old, so he barely remembers his birth place. Logan is Mandarin, Chinese. Logan does not speak Chinese but he understands it.
As everyone ate their dinner, Mika started to feel uneasy. She felt she was uninvited and unwelcomed. The four of them have been together since childhood and have always been there for each other. Mika when was she was younger she never had friends.
The neighborhood kids hated her for thinking differently about there so called leader. When Mika was 12 she got bullied to the point where she self-harmed herself. She keep an secret knife under her bed whenever she felt like crap it'd make her feel better.
She'd lock the bathroom door and cut herself it was a stress habit she had to make herself feel good. Her mother finally knew that something was very wrong and eventually Mika stopped.
"Mika are you okay"? Arianna asked.
"Oh…..yeah I'm fine". Mika said faking it.
"No something's wrong what's up"? Sam asked.
"Just hearing you guys talk about how you've grown up together as friends makes me feel a little unwelcomed". Mika said.
"Why do you say that"? Aaron asked.
"How you all talk about the good times you had and about the times you shared together makes me a little uninvited. Does that make sense"? Mika asked hoping to get through to anyone.
"I yeah I know that feeling". Logan said.
"Were we being insensitive I'm sorry". Michelle apologized.
"No it's okay". Mika said.
"Mika don't feel left out I'm sorry if we made you feel a little uneasy but we're your friends now. You've come to a country where you're free to speak up and met tons of people who care about you. Believe me I know how that feels and I've been there trust me.
But you're surrounded by friends who love you and care for you, so don't ever feel like you're alone because we're here for you because we're your friends". Sam smiled cheering up her new friend.
"Sam's right even though I just met all of you 25 minutes ago I felt like I could trust and tell one another with stuff I couldn't tell anyone else". Arianna smiled.
"So you see Mika you have friends now don't be sad". Michelle said coming over to her and giving her a backwards hug. Mika smiled and felt happy.
Afterwards everyone had to go home it was getting late they had school tomorrow. Mika went home feeling confident and loved. She slept like a baby that night knowing she made a great choice of friends.
