The next day after school Mika took a bus and headed to the mall to meet her new friends. She was told to meet at 'The Big Squeeze', Mika's not sure what 'The Big Squeeze' is but she's probably sure it has something to with squeezing fruits and making juice out of them.
Mika stopped at a giant lemon with a help wanted sign attached to it. After Caitlin went off to college and quit her job at The Big Squeeze, it went out of business. The reason being is because no one really wanted to work to their, it mainly was no one wanted to wear a giant lemon on their head.
Mika stared at the lemon and ran her fingers down the fake yellow texture. She wondered how can anyone work in a giant lemon. The idea to Mika just sounded crazy.
"Hey Mika". Logan said. Mika's train of thought came to a stop when she turned her head and saw her friends.
"Hi guys". Mika greeted. "Observing the lemon I see". Aaron grinned.
"How come no one's working here"? Mika asked. "Because no one wants to wear a dorky lemon hat while serving drinks". Sam said.
"You wear a lemon on your head"? Mika asked confessed. "I'm guessing you don't have The Big Squeeze where you're from"? Hayley asked.
"So that's what this place is"? Mika asked. "Yeah or at least it used to be". Michelle said. "There suppose too be looking for people actually want to work here". Sam said.
"It seems like an okay place to-". Mika said but was cut off. She was cut off by none other than Ron-rent-a cop. "What do you think you're doing"?! He glared. Mika took her finger off the fake lemon in fear of being of something she didn't do.
"Nothing sir honest". Mika said. "You maggots weren't vandalizing this lemon were you"? Ron glared at the teens.
"No sir". Sam said. "We were just hanging out". Logan said. "Yeah we would never vandalize this lemon ever". Michelle said. Ron did the 'I'm watching you' fingers to them.
"I've got my eye on you punks". Ron said.
Ron hasn't change at all since 2004 but the only thing different about him is that his hair is getting gray and he has a mustache.
After he left Mika felt slightly mad and confused at the same time. They weren't doing anything wrong why was he like this to her new friends?
"What's his deal"? Mika asked. "That's Ron-Rent-a cop he hates anyone under the age of 30". Aaron said.
"My sister use to talk about how lame he was". Michelle said. "WE WORK HERE TO YA KNOW"! Hayely yelled. "Technically you and Sam work here and I just started a few days ago". Logan said.
"Me, Mika and Arianna start Wednesday". Aaron said. "Maybe he'll change his opinion of us on Wednesday when we're working at our new jobs". Arianna said taking a seat.
"We shouldn't let this rent a cop guy bring us down we matter just as much as he does". Mika said. "True dat". Logan agreed.
"Back in North Korea I've had to deal with people like him on a daily basis. We're just teens hanging out at the mall like civilized people do. He shouldn't judge us just because we're younger then him we have rights to and we shouldn't be treated like criminals"! Mika said.
"You tell em Mika we're people to"! Aaron cheered. "She's right Ron-Rent-a cop's just a loser who cares what he thinks we gotta stick up for ourselves". Sam said.
"That's right and if that rent a cop dude thinks he can push us around he's got another thing coming". Logan said standing on the chair and then slipped which caused him to fall over by mistake. Everyone giggled at Logan's mishap with the chair.
"I think you should work on your balance more". Arianna grinned. Logan shook it off and sat back in his seat. Sam then noticed something. They were all sitting at the exact same table that her brother and his friends sat when they were working here.
"Guys do you realize were sitting at the same table my brother and his friends sat"? Sam asked. "Come to think of it yeah". Logan said realizing it to.
"My sister and step brother use to sit here they said it was of the best places to sit in the whole mall". Hayley said referring to Jen and Jonesy. "My sister use to sit here to she liked to make fun of the dorky lemon hats that Caitlin". Michelle said taking about Nikki.
"We should make this our new spot in the mall it'd be like taking on a hero's legacy". Aaron said. "What do you think Mika"? Hayley asked.
"I think that sounds great I couldn't think of anything better". Mika smiled. "Then it's settled this table next to The Big Squeeze will be our place in the mall". Logan said.
"How about a toast to us the new generation of this table and to our new friend Mika, cheers"! Sam said holding her drink in the air. "Cheers"! Everyone said.
