Annfazukimi here (sorry for the length of time between updates, stuff just seems to happen a lot), just to let you know that after this quest Fang's story won't be over. I decided, I don't want Fang to go on just one adventure. Including this one, Fang will go on at least 4, maybe five. Keep looking for updates on this developments, also, I only own my OCs and any and all cameos, nothing else. Also if you're wondering, the fiction takes place after Fang can breathe under water, so the Zora armor is useless to him. Also I will be skipping portions of this temple so if you want to know what you're missing, play the game or watch a walk-through.
I landed in a non- conspicuous area around the opening to the spirit chamber and, using the power of the gem, swam fast down to the entrance of the temple. I blew up the rock blocking the entrance and swam inside. After a few twists and turns, and near death experiences with a couple of giant jellyfish, I found myself in a grand lobby of sorts. After I defeated some chews and bottled up a blue chew, careful to avoid the purple chews, from what I remember, the purple chews can leave you within an inch of your life. I enter the actual temple to see that the video game doesn't do this temple any justice.
*Water time skip*
I find myself in a large room and when I get out into the open the door shuts and locks behind me, never a good sign. Midna comes out of my shadow and says, "I don't know about this, take a look around." I do so and don't understand until I look up and see a giant toad which fall of the ceiling and shakes of its young, nice. I quickly take care of the tadpoles and find the mother has disappeared. I quickly realize she is going to fall on me and move out of the way. I shoot a bomb arrow in its mouth and make quick work of the tongue. The toad dropped a chest, which I quickly opened to find a clawshot.
*water raising time skip*
I fly over to the center of the giant room, a little scarred of what lay in the inner-sanctum of the temple. Morpheel, he was easy in the game, but this is real life (as far as I know). When I reach the bottom of the large cavern-ish sanctum (I have iron boots on for those who feel like asking) I see a tentacle from which an eye rises up from the ground sees me and retreats. A large mouth then rises up from the ground. This is the first form of morpheel. I give myself some distance from the mouth, so I don't get swallowed by it. I use my clawshot and grab the eye and slice quickly. The mouth retreated and the body of the monster appeared. An eel that in all honesty did nothing but swim. However I did my part and defeated the monster.
The monster died and the usual stuff happened. Midna appeared and takes the piece of fused shadow and says, "This is it, I hope you don't hate me for what I put you through, I need this thing, to prove Zant is a false king." I nod and say, "Just as long as you know as soon as this is over, I'm going home." Midna nods, laughs and says, "You might be surprised what fate has in store for you. I only nod in response and allow Midna to transport me out of the temple.
Midna transported us to the spirit lake at lake Hylia. I nod knowing what was next and turn to leave only to be stopped by who I assumed was Zant. When it was the video game he wasn't scary, he was just a person in the game to beat, but in real life it was all I could do not to shake in fear. Not of him but the air around him felt even more evil than the lab coats and even the erasers and other variations. Anyways the light spirit of Hylia came up to face Zant only to be blasted back I was sent to my side as I lost conciseness.
*Third person POV*
Zant sent the world back into Twilight as Fang was forced into wolf form and Midna out of his shadow. Zant then picked up Midna with telekinesis and took the fused shadow. He scoffed and said, "You mean to take that withered magic and turn it against your king, Midna you foolish traitor." He threw Midna on the ground who turned and said, "My king, you who does nothing but abuse the magic of our tribe?!" Zant scoffed and picked her up again and said, "You think this is the magic of our tribe, now that is a joke." He then formed a ball of red magic and said, "This is the magic of my god and true leader of the twili and you will respect it.
It was then that Fang woke up and jumped at Zant to protect Midna only to be deflected by the magic. A shard stuck out of his forehead. Midna, who was not under the grip of Zant tried in vain to get the shard but the shard embedded itself deep within his forehead. Zant then picked her up and held her close to his face. The lower piece of his mask opened revealing his mouth as he said, "Midna, do you not remember that it was his people who drove us out, no matter how aquatinted you get with them you cannot mingle with them, which is why I need your power. Not just for me but for all of our people, lend me your power so that shadow and light can mix. We could blurt out that nasty light and bring in soothing shadow.
Midna then squirmed out of Zant's grasp clearly giving her answer. He then said, "Very well, I will return the light to the land you so covet." Again in Zant's grasp Midna was thrust out in front of the spirit lake as Zant summoned the light spirit. Without the protection of Fang's shadow, Midna was completely exposed to the full force of light. The spirit teleported Midna away. Zant turned to deal with Fang only to find that he was gone, too.
Me: Well a lot of stuff happened in that chapter…
Fang: Oh no you don't, you can't leave us on a cliff hanger like that, get to Max, heal Midna, then you can end the chapter
Me: fine
*Fang POV*
I woke up with a minor headache to find three things,
1. I'm in Hyrule field
2. I'm not in human form
3. Midna is at death's door
Midna's color has completely changed, she is hardly breathing and she can't even sit up on me and is laying on her stomach. I then hear the light spirit say, "Fang, Hero from another world and chosen by the gods, go to the princess locked in the tower, she is the one who can unlock you from your current form.
*Max's POV*
Something was wrong, that much I knew. Something that shook me to the fiber of my being. It takes a lot to do this. I could only hope that Fang was okay, after getting over being angry of course not to mention over being angry at whoever put me in this dress, thank fully none of the other flock knew about this. Anyways I hoped that fang and Midna were okay. Just then my fears were realized when fang in wolf form with something on his back came in. Only when the thing fell off did I realize the "thing" was a near dead Midna.
*Fang's POV*
A hand lightly touched Midna on the shoulder, Max. Midna then says, "Please…See what's wrong with Fang…You need him to…save the world." Max raises her hand and moves it up my body only to stop at my head. She then says, "An different magic than the one from before has transformed you Fang, it's an evil magic. There is an imbalence in the world and just as there is light to counter the dark there is a weapon to cleave the dark curtain that hovers over you. Hidden in the ancient grove of Faron there is a weapon that can do this, the Master Sword, only you can wield it." She then held up her hand and the triforce of wisdom appeared, "You and I, Fang, have been blessed with the Triforce"
Midna sound more desperate as she spoke, "Fang…You can get to the Faron woods…right?" "Princess…I have…one more…request. Can you… tell Fang where…the mirror…of Twilight is?" Max gasped at this as if Midna had just said something scary. She then started to say, "Midna I now know just what and who you are. In these dire times it is you who reap the consequences of our actions. Take this now I pass it to you." Max's hands light up and this light goes to Midna. Her body levitated and she and I realize what Max is doing, Midna shout's, "NO FANG STOP HER!" it's far too late to do anything as Max looks at Midna. When Midna lands on the floor, Max is gone, she sacrificed herself to ensure Midna's survival. Midna then said, "Let's go Fang, back to the Faron woods, she jumped on my back and looked back to where Max was and says, "Max, I have taken what you had to give, although I did not want it."
*Outside the castle*
Midna teleported us outside the castle and we start to move out when we hear a weird noise. I turn around to see that the entire castle has been imprisoned by a force field. Midna grips a fist knowing Zant was responsible only to unclench said fist probably at the thought of Max's sacrifice. I unfurl my wings and take off towards the Faron woods.
Me: finally a new chapter is complete
Fang: you do realize you have at least eight more chapters to go right
Max: I died
Me: Not in the sense of the words, technically you're in the rest of the story
Midna: Don't forget to review
Me: Bye Bye
