We see Centarumon guiding the group and Ogremon through the labyrinth with symbols engraved on each wall.
CENTARUMON
These are known as the ancient ruins of the Ancient Dino Region. This region is considered the most primitive of this island's historical account.
Ricky and Gumdramon notice the symbols on the walls while being guided.
GUMDRAMON
Hey, Rick. Check out the writing on the walls.
RICKY
Yeah. Whoever wrote these must be in real trouble.
(snickers)
MIKEY
Actually, these symbols actually remind me of hieroglyphics. You know, like we learned about Ancient Egypt in school.
RICKY
I think fell asleep during the lecture.
CENTARUMON
Pretty good observation, young Legendary Hero. These symbols are actually known as "Digimoji".
SHOUTMON
Digimoji?
CENTARUMON
Yes. In correspondence to what you humans call "hieroglyphics", these have been considered the ancient writing of our world. These symbols would then be encrypted into historic account about File Island and the Digital World.
MIKEY
That's really interesting, Centarumon.
CENTARUMON

OGREMON
(groans)
Great. I can't believe I'm listening to this garbage! First, these humans claim to be heroes. And now, I'm gonna listen to a history lesson?! This is getting boring!
RICKY

OGREMON

RICKY

OGREMON

CENTARUMON
Ogremon, seize your behavior immediately!
Ogremon pauses and calms down with a SIGH. Ogremon backs off while GRUMBLING to himself.
RICKY
What's the dude's problem?
CENTARUMON
Please excuse Ogremon for his rambunctious behavior. He has been upset for quite sometime.
MIKEY
I wonder why he keeps acting so grumpy.
SHOUTMON
More importantly, why is this island under danger?
CENTARUMON
Hold out your Digivices and your answers shall be revealed.
Mikey and Ricky nod and take out their Fusion Loaders. After a pause, the screens on the Fusion Loaders start glowing.
The Digimoji on the walls start glowing as well.
CENTARUMON
(impressed)
Amazing.
Each Digimoji starts projecting individual pieces of light. The pieces then together form an image of File Island.
Mikey and the group look impressed.
CENTARUMON (O.S.)
According to our writing, File Island was among the first landmasses created during the beginning of the Digital World. Each landscape located is represented for its diversity and environment to certain Digimon. Yet, we feared that darkness would someday rise from within the island. Legends have told...
An image of a regular Digivice then gets projected in front of Mikey and Ricky.
CENTARUMON (O.S.)
...that a device made from the heavens would help guide this world towards the light while repelling the forthcoming darkness. However...
The image disappears.
CENTARUMON (O.S.)
Our prayers were never answered.
Centarumon watches the symbols on the walls.
CENTARUMON
We foresaw our island to be protected under the light of eight Chosen Children. Yet...they never came. The Digimon who were destined to bond with the children waited and waited...till they...gave up.
MIKEY
That's...awful.
RICKY
(gulps)
And then...
The image of File Island then displays a dark cloud covering the top of Infinity Island with gears flying around the entire island.
CENTARUMON (O.S.)
The darkness has awoken and spread its power using devices to take control over the entire island.
SHOUTMON
Device? Control? You're talking about the gears, right?
CENTARUMON
Yes. These gears you've encountered are known as Black Gears. Within contact of a native Digimon, its power will control its mind and becomes enraged with negativity.
GUMDRAMON
Is there a way to remove the gears?
CENTARUMON
Unfortunately, we are too weak to rebel against the darkness. Only the power of light shall repel the darkness.
MIKEY
(Power of light...?)
(gasps)
Rick!
RICKY
What?
MIKEY
I think we've entered into an alternate timeline!
RICKY
What do you-?
MIKEY
Think about it. If the Chosen Children ever showed up at the Digital World, then this disaster would never happen.
RICKY
And...?
MIKEY
Don't you get it?! The course of history has been changed! This is what the Old Clock Shop Man was talking about.
RICKY
Oh. Why didn't you say so?
Mikey SIGHS.
CENTARUMON
From the moment that I gazed at your devices, I believe you would share the same power of light. If what you said is true, then we of all the Digimon on File Island have our support.
SHOUTMON
Do you think we have what it takes to fight the darkness?
CENTARUMON
I guarantee it. But, be cautious as the darkness resides on the highest point of the entire island.
GUMDRAMON
Where's that?
MIKEY (O.S.)
The mountain.
RICKY
Huh?
MIKEY
That huge mountain we saw earlier. I had a feeling it might be important.
CENTARUMON
Wise observation, young one. That mountain is known as Infinity Mountain.
MIKEY
(turns)
And that's exactly where we are heading.
RICKY
Didn't you forget about the part that it'll take us days to get on top of that mountain?! Hello?!
CENTARUMON
Fortunately, there is an alternative way to reach the summit.
RICKY
Oh, good. Give us directions to the nearest airport and we'll be there in a flash.
CENTARUMON
Most unlikely. Only an experienced Digimon knows the path to Infinity Mountain.
Centarumon sees Ogremon staring out at Infinity Mountain near the entrance of the ruins.
Ogremon turns to the group.
OGREMON
What?
MIKEY
You know the way to Infinity Mountain?
OGREMON
Uh...no. Whatever Clip-Clop said over there was probably referring to someone else.
CENTARUMON
As I recall, you have been on Infinity Mountain before.
OGREMON
No, I haven't! He's lying.
SHOUTMON
Sounds like you're hiding something.
OGREMON
Stay out of this, King Strawberry Shortcake!
SHOUTMON
Hey! Who're you calling short, you living piece of butt-broccoli?!
OGREMON
What you'd call me!?
SHOUTMON
Yeah, I said it! And I'm not gonna repeat it!
OGREMON
That's it!
Ogremon dashes over to Shoutmon while Shoutmon does the same.
MIKEY
Shoutmon, stop!
Ogremon and Shoutmon are about to clash with their weapons.
CENTARUMON (O.S.)
Solar Ray!
Suddenly, a yellow laser beam hits the ground in-between which stops the fight between Shoutmon and Ogremon.
The group turns to Centarumon whom caused the attack.
CENTARUMON
Enough! Ogremon, this is not how we resolve this conflict.
OGREMON
You don't understand. I was feeling my mojo again. It's my destiny to fight my new rival!
SHOUTMON
New rival? We barely know each other!
OGREMON
It doesn't matter. As long as we keep fighting each other, I'll truly be happy again!
CENTARUMON
Violence upon others does not always equal life achievement. It plagues your mind with waste of opportunity.
OGREMON
I don't care! I made a mistake once and I'm not making that same mistake again!
MIKEY
Is that why you won't take us to Infinity Mountain?
OGREMON
Trust me. If I took you up there, it wouldn't be pretty. The dark ruler of the mountain is no pushover either.
MIKEY
So, a Digimon's responsible for this darkness. Could you tell us its name?
OGREMON
I'd rather not. Saying his name makes me angry every time.
GUMDRAMON
His name can't be that bad.
(turns to Centarumon)
Do you know his name?
CENTARUMON
Yes. I will address his name once so you'll remember it.
MIKEY
Okay.
CENTARUMON
The ruler goes by the name of-
RICKY
(interrupts; exclaims)
Black Gear!
A Black Gear suddenly flies into the labyrinth.
OGREMON
Hit the deck!
The group quickly ducks and avoids the gear.
The gear flies toward Centarumon.
MIKEY
Centarumon, it's coming for you!
Centarumon evades the gear past him. Until, the gear suddenly makes a U-turn back to Centarumon.
RICKY
What is it, a boomerang now?!
The gear immediately hits Centarumon in the back without time to react.
Centarumon YELLS in pain.
MIKEY
Centarumon!
Centarumon struggles while the gear takes control of him.
CENTARUMON
(trying to resist)
Legendary Heroes...please...help us...before...it's too...late...
Centarumon is overwhelmed and the gear has complete control over him. His eye starts glowing red.
SHOUTMON
Centarumon?
Centarumon starts aiming his mechanical hand at the group.
CENTARUMON
Solar Ray!
MIKEY
Run!
The group exits scene as Centarumon fires his attack at them, thus missing them.
CUT TO.
EXT. FILE ISLAND - ANCIENT DINO REGION - DAY
The group and Ogremon exit the ruins entrance while Centarumon keeps firing Solar Ray from off-screen.
OGREMON
That was unexpected.
GUMDRAMON
We have to reach the mountain fast!
OGREMON
For the last time, I am not going back to that mountain!

Boomerang Bone!
A giant bone, thrown like a boomerang, appears on-screen at the the group.
Ogremon deflects the bone away.
The bone came from a yeti-like Digimon known as MOJYAMON, accompanied by a snowman bear-like Digimon known as FRIGIMON.
SHOUTMON
Let me guess...
Both Digimon have Black Gears on them.
RICKY (O.S.)
Aw, come on!
Meramon, Monzaemon and Unimon enter scene and surround the group.
MIKEY
They've found us!
Ogremon looks up at Infinity Mountain from the distance.
OGREMON
(He's gone too far this time! So, he thinks he can push me around after all I've done for him? Well, I'll show him who's boss around here!)
Ogremon starts running off.
OGREMON
Let's go!
SHOUTMON
Go where?!
OGREMON
Where else? To Infinity Mountain, of course!
The group looks slightly confused.
OGREMON (O.S.)
What are you waiting for?! Move it or lose it!
Meramon throws fireballs and Monzaemon fires hearts at the group.
The group then runs to avoid the attacks and catch up with Ogremon.
The group and Ogremon exit scene.
CUT TO.
EXT. FILE ISLAND - INFINITY MOUNTAIN - SUMMIT - DUSK
We see a full exterior shot of a Roman architectural temple on the summit.

Impossible! There can't more than just the eight Chosen Children.
INT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - TEMPLE - DUSK
We see a Digimon sitting on a throne chair, shrouded in the shadows. The Digimon is having a conversation with a small, digital portal with a mysterious voice calling from within.
MYSTERIOUS VOICE
I'm afraid it's true. Over this world's limits, there are countless others who share the power of light that would eventually overcome the darkness.

I do not understand. I succeeded my goal covering the island in darkness with my Black Gear army. The prophecy never said anything about a loophole!
MYSTERIOUS VOICE
Do not be discouraged. After all, each of the Chosen Children has been separated into different areas through time and space. It would take them ages to reach this island.

Yes, it is quite an advantage. But, our chances would be slim if the power of light prevails.
MYSTERIOUS VOICE

Yes, but with my assistance, I shall grant you a gift that will make darkness triumph over anything.
EXTREMER CLOSE-UP of the Digimon starting to smile.

EXT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - BASE - DUSK
We see Ogremon guiding the group through the mountain path.
Ogremon constantly examines each rocky surface and wall with a suspicious look on his face.
OGREMON
(He's obviously planning a trap for me. I can feel it!)
SHOUTMON (O.S.)
So...
Ogremon gets startled by Shoutmon from behind.
SHOUTMON
Any reason why you changed your mind?
OGREMON
Don't scare me like that!
RICKY
He only asked, that's all.
OGREMON
Whatever. I'm still not convinced that you're a king of an entire Digital World.
(resumes examining)
SHOUTMON
Not as convincing as that Halloween mask you call a face. It makes you look funny than terrifying.
Ogremon pauses and turns to Shoutmon.
OGREMON
What do you mean "funny"?
MIKEY
(nervously smiles)
He's only kidding.
SHOUTMON
Hold up, Mikey. I wanna hear this.
OGREMON
You think my face is funny? How that makes me funny? Do I like a clown to you?! Does it make you laugh?!
GUMDRAMON
(nervously smiling)
No, no. What Shoutmon meant is that you're more terrifying than funny.
RICKY
(nervously smiling)
Yeah, your face is the scariest thing imaginable on the entire island.
Ogremon glares at Shoutmon for a moment.
OGREMON
...That's what I thought.
(resumes examining)
Mikey SIGHS in relief.
SHOUTMON
(beat)
To be fair. Clowns are more scary than you!
Ogremon pauses and angrily turns.
OGREMON
(growls)
You brat!
Ogremon runs to Shoutmon while charging his fist with dark energy while Shoutmon runs to Ogremon while he charges his staff with energy.
GUMDRAMON
(annoyed)
Why now?
OGREMON
Pummel Whack!
(fires energy)
SHOUTMON
Rock n' Roller!
Shoutmon hits the energy with his staff which reflects back at Ogremon.
Ogremon avoids the deflected attack and swings his club.
OGREMON
We are eternally destined to fight!
SHOUTMON
Now, you're speaking my language!
MIKEY
Shoutmon!
Ogremon and Shoutmon clash with their weapons, but Ogremon knocks him down.
OGREMON
Ha! Who's the clown now?
(raises club)
Time to finish it!
Mikey then guards Shoutmon just as Ogremon is about to smash Shoutmon.
MIKEY
Don't lay another move on him.
SHOUTMON
M-Mikey-
MIKEY
Let me handle this. You've done enough.
OGREMON
Outta the way, kid. You're spoiling my big moment!
MIKEY
No! I wanna know right now. How is fighting Digimon make you happy?!
OGREMON
It's my destiny. King Short-stack insulted me!
MIKEY
Forgive him. Shoutmon's a little overprotective. Much like a royal pain.
SHOUTMON (O.S.)
Hey!
OGREMON
You wouldn't understand, kid. (I felt something when King Small-Fry was acting all tough and mighty. Come to think of it, he kinda reminds me of...)
In Ogremon's POV, we see an image of a tall, lion-like human Digimon in Shoutmon's place.
OGREMON
(eyes widen)
...Leomon.
GUMDRAMON
Huh?
OGREMON
(regains senses)
Oh. Uh...nothing.
RICKY
Could've sworn you said something.
OGREMON
I said nothing!
MIKEY
I heard you said "Leomon". Am I right?
OGREMON
No! I said...uh..."Biyomon"? Yeah, that's it.
SHOUTMON
"Biyomon", really?
OGREMON
Hey, you would believe me if I said it!
MIKEY
(suspicious)
Ogremon...
Ogremon gets frustrated and slams his fist on the mountain wall which startles the group.
OGREMON
Fine! I said "Leomon"! Happy now?!
Ogremon calms down with a sulk expression on his face.
GUMDRAMON
Who's Leomon?
Ogremon refuses to answer.
MIKEY
Was Leomon your...?
Ogremon didn't answer but Mikey then ponders and realizes.
MIKEY
Oh, I see.
OGREMON
(sighs)
It's true. Leomon was a Digimon worthy enough to be my opponent. I remember it like it was yesterday.
DISSOLVE TO.
BEGIN FLASHBACK.
EXT. FILE ISLAND - GREAT CANYON - DAY
We see Ogremon exiting from his cave and starts exploring the canyon area.
We see other Ogremon defending each bridge in the upper and lower canyon areas.
OGREMON (V.O.)
I grew up in the Great Canyon where most of my clan spent their time defending each bridge connecting the canyon against outsiders.
EXT. GREAT CANYON - GRE BRIDGE - DAY
We see Ogremon guarding the bridge with a bored and exhausted expression on his face.
OGREMON (V.O.)
The problem was my job gets boring after a while. The hours are full-time, no pay or vacation, and especially no health or dental plans.
Ogremon looks up at the sun shining over the canyon.
OGREMON (V.O.)
Whenever I look at the sun, I vow that one day my true destiny will come. Until one day...
We hear giggling off-screen and Ogremon senses it nearby.
We see a group of small pink plant-like Digimon known as YOKOMON happily walking and giggling across the bridge.
Ogremon GROWLS and halts their path.
OGREMON
Hey! Get lost! This canyon is off-limits to outsiders!
The Yokomon shiver and cower in fear under Ogremon's shadow.
OGREMON
Refuse to listen, eh? Maybe this will change your minds!
Ogremon raises his club and the YOKOMON start SCREAMING.
As Ogremon swings his club down...
SFX - *clash*
Suddenly, Ogremon's club gets clashed with a sword.
OGREMON
What?!
The sword is carried by none other than LEOMON, who protected the Yokomon from the attack.
LEOMON
Do not harm these innocent Digimon!
Ogremon jumps back for space.
OGREMON
Who are you?!
LEOMON
I am Leomon, fighter of justice everywhere on File Island.
OGREMON
What's the big idea showing up like that?
LEOMON
I have come to make amends with the defenders of this canyon. The Great Canyon deserves to be free of control and Digimon are allowed to travel through peacefully.
OGREMON
You're bluffing! There's no way I'm not letting you pass this bridge!
LEOMON
...Very well.
Leomon draws his sword.
Ogremon readies his club.
Both Digimon charge their fists with energy and jump at each other in the air.
LEOMON
Fist of the Beast King!
(fires lion-headed flame from fist)
OGREMON
Pummel Whack!
(fires dark energy from fist)
Both attacks collide as the camera PULLS AWAY to Ogremon and Leomon fighting in mid-air.
FREEZE IN ACTION ON OGREMON & LEOMON
OGREMON (V.O.)
And ever since that day, Leomon and I have became eternal rivals. My destiny had finally come.

Leomon was the mightiest warrior I've ever fought. We've battled everywhere on the island.

FREEZE IN ACTION OF OGREMON RELEASING RAW SEWAGE FROM A PIPE AT LEOMON

Sometimes I win...

EXT. FILE ISLAND - FREEZELAND - DAY
FREEZE IN ACTION OF LEOMON CAUSING AN AVALANCHE OF SNOW OVER OGREMON

EXT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - BASE - DAY
We see Leomon and Ogremon fighting on Infinity Mountain.
OGREMON (V.O.)
Our powers were eventually proven to be equally proven. Yet, I desire more power to defeat my rival more easily. That's when...
Suddenly, a dark devil-shaped shadow appears and interrupts their fight.
OGREMON (V.O.)
...he showed up.
Ogremon and Leomon look at the unseen character.
OGREMON (V.O.)
He gave us an offer to work for him. I was certain that I would be able to handle Leomon on my own. Until...
Leomon suddenly feels something touching him in the back, causing him to SCREAM in pain. Afterwards, Leomon becomes enslaved with an angry and possessed look on his face.
Ogremon looks impressed by Leomon's state.
OGREMON (V.O.)
I have never this much dark power before. It then gave me the opportunity to seek and learn more about this power if I am able to defeat Leomon.
Ogremon smiles.
CLOSE-UP of the dark Digimon smiles in response.
DISSOLVE TO.
EXT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - SUMMIT - NIGHT
We see numerous Black Gears flying out of the temple.
OGREMON (V.O.)
With that said, I became part of the dark side and the Black Gears started spreading throughout the island.
FREEZE IN ACTION OF THE FOLLOWING DIGIMON GETTING ENSLAVED BY THE BLACK GEARS: MOJYAMON, MERAMON, UNIMON and KUWAGAMON.
OGREMON (V.O.)
Every Digimon became a slave under the gear's power as the island grew defenseless and weaker.
CUT TO.
INT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - TEMPLE - NIGHT
We see the Digimon sitting in the shadows of his throne while Ogremon and Leomon stand in guarding at the bottom.
Ogremon grimaces at Leomon.
OGREMON (V.O.)
It was the best career change I've had in my life. My moment to strike was almost near. However...
OGREMON
Huh?
Leomon suddenly feels something inside him. There is a glow in his chest which makes him cringe for a moment. Leomon then open his eyes and looks normal.

Hmm?
Leomon angrily draws out his sword and aims it at the Digimon sitting on the throne.
LEOMON
This island doesn't rightfully belong to you! Surrender under justice!
OGREMON
You broke free out of his control?! That's unbearable!

It seems that the light and courage in your heart don't succumb to the darkness.
LEOMON
That's because I have always believed in the island's prophecy and the power of light shall repel the darkness from whence it came.
OGREMON
Oh, yeah? If you think you're so tough, why don't you prove it to me then!
LEOMON
I rather not at the moment. I must protect the island at all costs!
Leomon starts leaping towards the Digimon.

Seize him, Ogremon!
Ogremon blocks and hits Leomon off his path.
OGREMON
I've been waiting so long for a rematch!
Leomon gets up and dashes at Ogremon.
OGREMON
Pummel Whack!
(fires energy from fist)
Leomon swifts and pounces.
LEOMON
Fist of the Beast King!
(fires lion-head flame from fist)
Ogremon avoids the attack and spins his club while dashing to Leomon.
Leomon dashes while drawing his sword.
OGREMON
(This is it! My destiny comes to an end!)
Both clash their weapons but the strong force of Leomon's sword pushes Ogremon's club.
OGREMON
(What?!)
Leomon then punches Ogremon to the floor.
Ogremon struggles to get up.
OGREMON
I...don't understand. I thought I had it. I was gonna able to defeat you this time!
LEOMON
Even if you side with the forces of darkness, you wouldn't be able to overcome against the light. We are, indeed, equally matched after all.
OGREMON
...Heh, guess you're not as different as I thought you would be.
LEOMON
Likewise.
(turns head)
Now to...Hmm?
Leomon finds the throne chair empty.
LEOMON (O.S.)
Where did he go?
Leomon looks around the room and draws his sword.
LEOMON
Show yourself!

You've shown an amount of valor against the darkness. Unfortunately, your heart won't allow to accept yourself as my pawn. I'm afraid it leads me to an alternative method...
Suddenly, a pool of darkness forms at Leomon's feet.
LEOMON
What?!
The darkness then paralyzes Leomon, ROARING in pain. Leomon tries to move out, but the pool of darkness starts swallowing him in.
Ogremon's eyes widen in shock.
Leomon keeps struggles as he plunges deeper and deeper into the pool till they both disappear.
Leomon's sword is left behind dropping to the ground.
Ogremon stands frozen in fear.
We then see the Digimon back up on his throne.

Well, that was tragic entertainment.
Ogremon angrily turns to the Digimon.
OGREMON
What did you do to Leomon?!
?
Isn't quite obvious? I swallowed him into the abyss of darkness where he'll never escape.
OGREMON
How could you do such a thing?!

But, isn't that what you'd desire? Eliminating your eternal rival forever?
OGREMON
I just wanted to defeat him, not destroy him! You tricked me!

No...you tricked yourself.
Ogremon GROWLS and starts leaping toward the Digimon.
FREEZE IN ACTION

EXT. INFINITY MOUNTAIN - BASE - DUSK
OGREMON
My power was no match for him. So, I managed to escape the mountain. Unfortunately, I'm still on the lam from the Black Gear army. Without a rival, I feel...empty. Up until now, I vowed to never go back again till I find my destiny.
RICKY
...Dude.
MIKEY
T-That was...
SHOUTMON
The most ridiculous story I've ever heard in my life!
OGREMON
I wish you had that big mouth of yours shut that entire time.
MIKEY
No offense, Mr. Ogremon. But, Shoutmon sort of has a point.
OGREMON
What?
SHOUTMON
(confused)
What?
MIKEY
Just because you constantly fight with someone, that doesn't automatically make it your destiny.
OGREMON
Then, how would you know about fighting?
MIKEY
There's more to life than just fighting.
SHOUTMON
You only fight to help and protect those who love and care for you.
OGREMON
Leomon did it all the time! No one back in the canyon never gave me some respect! What's the point of it?!
MIKEY
He did it because he knew it was the right thing to do in his heart.
OGREMON
So, what?! We're living creatures of data! We don't have hearts!

But, it's never too late to have one! I protect the Digital World for the same reason!
MIKEY
You should have know the value of friendship from the beginning.

It's like you don't even care about us. Would you imagine anyone care only about themselves more than everybody else?

Mikey and Shoutmon start walking up ahead past Ogremon.

Mieky and Shoutmon continue walking up the mountain without turning their backs.
