Suddenly the ground beneath them began to shake violently. The earth split causing both warriors to jump to opposite sides as Byakuya summoned all of his power. Sagara stared in awe as a spiked throne rose up from the growing hole in the earth. A small girl with beautiful long crimson hair sat on the throne her skin milky white and her eyes as blue as the ocean. She leaned carelessly her chin resting in the palm of her hand that rested on the arm of the great chair.
" what is this I call forth Lucifer and he sends me a whore this isn't a social call." Byakuya rudely addresses the girl.
" ugh what a disgusting creature." the red haired women spoke allowing a grotesque look to flash across her face before turning to Sagara and his friends who stood behind him. " I am Rias Gremorary i'm the sister of Lucifer." she spoke in a low sweet tone.
" i'm Sagara Taisho, and id like to know what your doing interrupting my fight." Sagara replied in an annoyed voice.
" well to keep it simple my brother owes this creep protection so i'm here to kill you." the beautiful red head answered his question with a smirk spreading across her lips.
"hmm, its a shame but oh well I guess there's not much I can do about it." Sagara smirked back at the girl. She now gave him a very puzzled look.
" what are you talking about boy whats a shame?" Rias questioned.
" oh its nothing its just a shame for such a beauty to have to die along side this vile creature." Sagara pointed to Byakuya who still had overwhelming power flowing from his body. Suddenly a rock struck the back of Sagara's head.
" stop flirting and get this over with if your so confident!" Rukia shouted with an extremely annoyed expression on her face. Masibu looked awkwardly at Rukia as she did this.
" fine i'm going, Inu no Taisho come here." Sagara ordered. In an instant the great demon lord stood at his side.
" what is it Sagara do you need some help now?" Inu no Taisho questioned ready to rejoin the battle.
" no, in fact its the exact opposite I need you to take the girls and get as far away from here as you can." Sagara demanded.
" absolutely not, I wont leave you to fight three opponents by yourself and i'm sure the girls feel the same way. Besides, he is her brother." Inu no Taisho answered looking back at Rukia.
" I figured you'd say something like that." Sagara muttered. " fine but promise me you'll protect them focus only on them and not on me ill be fine." Sagara demanded.
" you have my word that I will protect them, but if your in danger ill be sure to help you." Inu no Taisho replied.
" that wont be necessary." Sagara smirked before turning back to his three opposing warriors. " are you all ready to die?" Sagara chuckled as he let go of his restraints and allowed the power that he had been holding back to flow freely. The sky darkened, there was a sudden weight lifted from the air surrounding the battle field as the first bolt of lightning flashed across the sky. A tower of bright blue energy flowed from Sagara's body it engulfed him completely his eyes began to swirl intensely and he screamed in release as he let everything he had been holding back this entire time loose. The electric blue power swirled in a tower of intensity the wind had picked up Byakuya stared in terror as he realized this mans power had gone far beyond that of his own. Rias how ever watched curiously as the boys energy continued to rise even though it appeared he was done powering up. " well lets see what you have then." Sagara teased. Rias looked carefully over to the body guard that had been protecting Byakuya up until now. She then raised one hand in his direction causing everyone to stare. Then a weird red circle appeared around the man who began to panic. A blinding red light flashed around the weird spell circle before the man exploded with power. Now three enormous waves of energy rippled across the battle field Sesshomaru could feel the power and instantaneously changed his course of direction he knew he had to help. Blue red and purple energy towers flowed from the one spot on the battle field where all eyes had fallen. The newly powered up fighter raised his sword and grinned at Sagara with a blood thirsty smile. Suddenly they both took off at each other and their swords clashed. All that could be seen was a small flash of light when they collided and huge bursts of energy being thrown around by the blades as the fighters danced for their lives.
Sagara moved swiftly anticipating all of his opponents moves with the Sharingan. " lets move this along now little sister." whispered the man that had just appeared behind lady Rias. He was a tall lean man with bright crimson hair that matched that of his sisters.
" when did you get here?" Rias jumped startled at her brothers appearance. Sagara looked down and saw the man and had heard what he said, but he had to quickly turn his attention back to his opponent, although he couldn't help but look over every few seconds. " so that's the devil himself." Sagara said aloud to no one in particular.
"Oh about three minutes ago interesting little fight going on but we have something to attend to."
" finally your here my lord, help me destroy this monster please and fulfill our deal." Byakuya begged the dark lord for help.
" very well anything to speed this up." he raised his hand toward Byakuya and another red spell circle appeared. Suddenly Byakuya was also surrounded in the red light, his power had tripled his eyes glowed red and this dark energy overflowed his entire body he drew his sword and with a thunderous crash jumped into the air toward Sagara. Inu no Taisho was about to leap in the way when he felt a hand on his shoulder holding him back.
" stop, hes going to be fine believe me." Masibu assured him. Both Rukia and Inu no Taisho gave her a doubtful look but continued to watch patiently. Just before Byakuya's blade made contact with Sagara's back Sagara had pushed back the body guard and thrust his sword over his shoulder and behind his back to block the attack. He grinned at Byakuya's surprised face. Then both Byakuya and the body guard began to attack ruthlessly together from opposite sides. Sagara easily deflected every attack his lightning fast speed being way to much for even both powered up fighters to handle. Everyone watched the fight in amazement. Lucifer began to laugh hysterically.
" whats so funny?" Rias asked her brother.
" I just cant believe there's an earthling this strong to handle two guys like this at once." he replied still chuckling.
" hm I figured you'd be mad since your missing out on your previous engagement." Rias teased.
" this one is worth missing it for this is absolutely the most interesting character I have ever seen."he answered. Then without warning Sagara powered up again and released the lightning blade. His sword glowed a mighty electric blue and began to vibrate almost to quickly to be seen with human eyes. The body guard lunged at him but missed Sagara ducked under his sword and sliced him clean threw the belly cutting him completely in half. Blood shot everywhere as the dragons blade severed the mans torso rendering him dead almost instantly. Then Byakuya came up again from behind hoping to land a fatal blow, only to be cut short when Sagara dodged his attack by inches waving his own sword around from behind Byakuya's shoulder he severed his left arm. Byakuya fell to the ground in pain screaming in agony as blood poured from his shoulder. Then in an instant Sagara stood directly before Lucifer and his little sister Rias who had been watching the fight. His eyes stared into both of their souls and he was instantly enlightened to many secrets images and memories of what seemed to be Rias growing up. The last thing he saw before the strange flooding of memories stopped was her standing in a gown ready to be married. " very impressive show you put on there I don't think I have ever met someone from the living world with that kind of power might I ask who you are?" the dark lord questioned the victor of the fight.
" my name is Sagara Taisho, and who are.." Sagara was cut off as a giant bird shaped flame rose from no where and landed beside Rias. After a couple of seconds it became clear that it was yet another man and he looked very impatient.
" what on earth is taking so long we were supposed to be married by now and be on our way." the new arrival complained in an annoyed voice. Rias gave him a disgusted look, " this guy here turned out to be much more trouble then anticipated." she spoke gesturing toward Sagara, who stood blood soaked and worn out staring in their direction wondering what on earth was going on.
" I believe you were about to ask my name before we were rudely interrupted, its Lucifer and I am the ruler of the underworld, it seems as though my client here has long anticipated your arrival. How i'm not exactly sure but he was sure enough to sell me his soul to kill you. " the dark lord spoke cheerfully as though it were all a joke, but it wasn't.
" its a shame then you'll have to die as well." Sagara spoke sternly sick of prolonging his victory.
" surly you cant think you actually have a chance at defeating an opponent like myself in such a weakened state you've been fighting none stop and losing a lot of energy rapidly." Lucifer questioned his threat.
" ha there's plenty more where that came from ill just have to turn up the juice." Sagara chuckled at the mans clear interest in his power. Byakuya attempted a final pathetic strike from behind when Sagara wasn't paying attention. He swung his sword with all his might toward Sagara's back. In one swift movement Sagara dodged the attack and pierced the dismembered mans heart with the tip of his blade. Byakuya's movement stopped, his face became blank and a pale white took over his face. His eyes swelled as Sagara forced his blade fully threw Byakuya's chest then removing it completely allowing the man to fall to the ground, dead. Inu to Taisho and Masibu watched silently as Rukia said a low prayer for her brothers soul. She did not shed a tear but simply closed here eyes upon watching him die and whispered her final peace.
" whoops sorry about that little interruption I believe you wanted to fight me on his behalf?" Sagara motioned to the lifeless body beside him.
" not at all actually hes dead and frankly it makes no difference to me I simply find you interesting tell me whats the secret to your power?" the dark lord preyed.
" well then if your not here to fight then I suggest you leave here." Sagara ignored his question turned his back with his sword over his shoulder and began to walk back toward his friends.
" I don't recall anything about not fighting, just that it was not on his behalf." Lucifer mocked also gesturing toward Byakuya's lifeless body. Sagara stopped and turned his head raising one eyebrow.
" then lets see what you have, i'm not a patient man." Sagara mocked in an annoyed tone.
" my lord let me take care of this arrogant bastard for you so we can get this wedding on its way." the strange inpatient man who had recently arrived spoke taking a step forward.
" I think your going to have your hands full with me, I don't really care for people who fight two against one." Sesshomaru spoke Cooley as he swiftly arrived as though he were simply the wind.
" so your proposing a two on two battle now?" the demon lord questioned with excitement clear on his face.
" there's no need my lord I can take them both on myself." the other man interjected.
" shut up Risen clearly these are warriors of honor who would never attack a single man two at a time." Lucifer threw a dirty enraged look toward risen who fell quiet. "If a two on two is what you desire then I will be more then happy to comply but we should make this more interesting." suddenly an enormous crack of lightning flashed only twenty feet from where the devils and dogs stood preparing for their fight. Everyone watched what seemed to be a rip in time, they looked from Sagara to the strange rip that had appeared all with puzzled looks. Even the devils stared in confusion.
" what is this Sagara!" Sesshomaru questioned.
" no idea its not me this time!" Sagara shouted back looking just as confused as everyone else. After a moment a foot emerged from the rip and then a man followed before it closed. The great dog demons draw dropped as a tall man with electric blue hair and orange eyes stood before them he looked almost like Sagara's twin brother. This man stood calmly taking in the scene wearing a black torn and tethered kimono. All eyes stared lost in thought at this sudden arrival no one knew what to make of it not even Sagara could muster up the thoughts to speak.
" what the hell are you doing back here." Inu no Taisho spoke surprised at the arrival of an old friend.
" hm, it turns out these guys are a bit much for you to handle." the man said smugly with a grin spreading on his face. " well do a two on two demon but it will be me and my son who you fight." the man spoke.
" Hatake of the lightning.." Sagara whispered remembering what Inu no Taisho had told him.
" way to make an entrance Hatake, how did you make it back here?" Inu no Taisho questioned. Sagara simply stared in disbelief between the two older men.
" that's not important right now whats important is this battle." Hatake turned to Sesshomaru. " this might be a good time to back up Sesshomaru."
" how do you know my.." Sesshomaru began before being cut off by his father.
" do as he says Sesshomaru stand down."
" very well." Sesshomaru complied jumped back to stand at his fathers side.
" this day is just full of surprises." Lucifer spoke cheerfully.
" you know brother its a bit creepy seeing you so excited over a fight." Rias spoke up slightly embarrassed by her brothers creepiness.
" well its not everyday I get to have this much fun, so if its a father son fight you want then a father son fight you'll get." Lucifer smirked evilly. " Risen call your son you and him will battle these two.
" hm, fine this will be over in no time thank you for the pleasure my lord." Risen raised a spell circle of his own and soon a young teenage looking boy appeared.
" you summoned me father?" the boy spoke polity while bowing on one knee to his father.
" stand up, we are to fight these insolent mortals don't hold back kill the cocky bastards." Risen spoke coldly.
" of course, if that is your wish father." the boy stood and put his hand firmly on his sword.
" you know frankly you people piss me off." Sagara yelled drawing everyone's attention.
"what troubles you young demon?" Lucifer questioned.
" what troubles me? First off you assholes show up out of no where and interrupt my revenge war, then you want to fight us without any good reason or explanation and now your making it into a fucking game!" Sagara screamed in frustration. " then this asshole whose been gone all my life shows up out of thin air expecting to have a nice little father son death match like I need help from someone like him, i'm done here i'm going home." Sagara spoke as he powered down allowing his energy to dissipate and began walking toward Rukia.
" how dare you speak to us that way insolent brat you mortals need no explanation or reasoning you simply do as your told by those stronger then yourselves." risen defended his lord.
" that's enough risen." Lucifer spoke up.
" you know what asshole i'm sick of your mouth to you want it come and get it i'm right here!" Sagara screamed. " or are you to afraid your master wont approve?" he continued to mock.
" I am risen! The eternal Phoenix I answer to no one!" risen screamed allowing his massive energy to flare surrounding him in ball of fire.
" then why are you hesitating tough guy?" Sagara chuckled as he stood facing the enraged devil his Mangekyo eyes staring threw to the mans fiery soul. In a fiery flash risen drew his sword a blade formed entirely of flames and lunged at Sagara. In an instant Sagara was gone he now stood directly beside Rukia and the others. " your a bit slow.. this isn't even going to be fun." Sagara mocked as he stepped forward drawing his sword. Rukia watched in awe at how limitless his power seemed to have become. It seemed to her that he was the one playing the game.
" well I guess there was no avoiding this." Hatake spoke as he instantaneously appeared behind Lucifer and his sister.
" what do you mean?" Lucifer questioned.
" well them fighting of course, that's what happens when you have two hot headed kids with more power then they can imagine." Hatake replied.
" hmm, I guess so, except that insolent fool risen is not a kid hes thousands of years old and is virtually indestructible, its to bad he could have been a great asset if he wasn't a trader." Lucifer gave a disappointed look toward risen.
" just the sight of him makes me sick." Risen's son spat.
"Then I guess neither of you will mind when hes dead." Hatake chuckled.
" you seem awfully confident in that boy of yours." Lucifer proceeded to dig for information.
" well i'm pretty confident I could take this guy it might not be easy but I could bring him down." Hatake answered. " and frankly that boy is clearly much more powerful then I am in fact id go as far to say he might be unstoppable."
" I guess well see then." Lucifer turned back to the fight much more interested now. Sparks flew all around the battle field, flames swirled around risen as lightning flashed across Sagara they battled with everything they had. The clash shook earth its self, all spectators watched in awe at what seemed to be a battle of gods. Most of the fighting else where had stopped the wounded could be heard screaming for help, others still franticly ran among the war torn battle field searching for survivors. But most watched in silence the fight of a century right before their eyes. It wasn't long before risen became impatient with his inability to catch his opponent. They both came to a pause stopping to breath Sagara glared at risen sweat dripping from every pour on his body as he panted. Altho he was able to dodge Risen's attacks he wasn't able to break through Risen's defense. Every time he got to close it seemed like an invisible wall of flames stopped him from getting any closer.
" damn his energy its like gravity pushing down on me, I guess ill have to fight fire with fire." Sagara smirked. He again released his Susanoo dumping most of his remaining energy into it. The enormous knight rose relieving the pressure of Risen's demonic energy.
" Hes going to lose, we shouldn't have even allowed him to fight." Lucifer spat.
" what do you mean? Hes doing great do you see how limitless he is!" Hatake exclaimed.
" your all blind, that boy reached his limit that little stunt cost him the rest of the energy he had hes going to be dead inside five minutes if we don't do something right now." Lucifer interjected. " Rias ready yourself were not going to get a better time then this."
" how can I help." Hatake whispered in defeat.
" just make sure you and that boy are out of the way once we start the sealing process." Lucifer commanded. Risen also powered up to continue holding the upper hand as him and Sagara instantly launched at each other swords clashing sending waves of energy rippling threw the air.
" somethings not right, their getting ready to intervene over there." Inu no Taisho gestured toward Hatake and Lucifer.
" but why hes doing good?" Rukia questioned.
" no hes not hes reached his limit his body simply cant take the strain of fighting at that intensity any longer we expected to much out of him hes still only a boy." Masibu spoke up.
" when they move we move their going to need all the help they can get and someone make sure Sagara gets out of there safely." Sesshomaru ordered taking lead and preparing to launch an assault on the demon lord. Then it happened in an instant, no one actually saw the blow but the two warriors stopped going at it. Sagara's eyes widened as a gray fog took them over, blood squirted from the initial piercing that was quickly singed shut by the blade of fire. Sagara just stared in disbelief at the blade that had pierced his stomach. After what seemed like an endless moment Sagara's eyes closed and he fell to the ground as risen pulled his blade from the young mans stomach.
" all at once everyone rushed the remaining warrior, attacks flew from all sides as Masibu grabbed Sagara's body and retreated to a safer point. Risen jumped back and let all that was his flame free the enormous phoenix engulfed his body as the fabric of time began to bend.
" well Lucifer it seems you've failed now I have a much more important war campaign to launch , but first I need to go get my companions." risen grinned as the universe seemed to open a doorway threw time for him. " so long chumps i'm sure ill see you soon." risen chuckled as the doorway closed behind him leaving behind a broken battle field and broken spirits.
" what are we going to do now?" Rias questioned her brother.
" we have to find out where he went and stop him." he replied bitterly.
" brother did you just see the same thing I did we don't stand a chance if this guy couldn't win what chance do we stand?" Rias screamed motioning to the motionless body of Sagara that now rested lightly in Rukia's arms as she cried her eyes out.
" well have to figure something out." Lucifer whispered watching the girl and friends gather around the young boys lifeless body. Hatake stood silent eyes fixed on his son.
" I know where they went." he whispered drawing everyone's attention even Rukia's.
" how would you know that?" Lucifer questioned.
" I cant talk about it but I know where to find him, I also know we cant beat him without Sagara.
" well hes dead!" Masibu screamed before she quickly covered her mouth with her hand and giving Rukia a sorrowful look of pity that went unnoticed as Rukia continued holding his head in her lap caressing his cold white face.
" their coming for him.." Rukia whispered softly.
" what do you mean whose coming for him?" Inu no Taisho questioned giving her a concerned look.
" the ones who always come to guide the dead their coming for him now I can feel their presence." Rukia whispered again as she laid Sagara's head on the cold ground and stood up putting her hand on her sword and staring into nothingness.
"great now shes gone crazy..." Sesshomaru mocked disgusted with the situation they had put themselves in. suddenly the temperature dived it felt like it was sixty degrees below zero in an instant.
" Rukia stop this get a grip already!" Inu no Taisho yelled.
" its not her." Lucifer calmly interrupted as he to began staring into the nothingness. Suddenly a stone doorway appeared yielding a blinding white light. A cloaked figure emerged from the doorway. He walked slowly toward the group.
" stop right there." Rukia shouted drawing her sword. The figure did as he was told he came to a halt.
" who are you talking to Rukia?" Sesshomaru questioned.
" you cant see him?" Hatake questioned Sesshomaru.
" no I don't see anything..." Sesshomaru looked oddly between the two.
" only a select few can view the angel of death." Masibu spoke glaring at the reaper.
" very good Masibu it seems the stories of your knowledge were not fairy tales after all. The figure spoke in the soft sweet voice of a women.
" who are you and how do you know my name reaper! Speak up!" Masibu yelled when the figure stood silent.
" I was about to ask the same thing." Hatake looked strangely between the two of them.
" I would love to explain everything to all of you I truly would, but there is no time I must take Sagara Masibu and Jeff with me right now!" the hooded figured shouted clearly running out of patients.
"no way you cant have hi.." Rukia was cut off when the devil spoke.
" take them and good luck on your journey reaper, I will see you on the battle field I presume?" Lucifer spoke calmly.
" but of course, as soon as we get him back to fighting capacity." the reaper spoke motioning toward Sagara's lifeless body.
" if you think you can save him then take me with you I want to help." Rukia demanded looking uneasy at the reaper.
" I cant your already their Rukia just trust me and everything will be ok you will see Sagara again, now you two grab him and lets go." the reaper demanded. Hatake quickly picked up Sagara's body before him and Masibu began walking to the reapers door of blinding light. As they entered the door tears began to stream lightly down Rukia's face. They all stared as one by one the three entered the doorway. Finally the cloaked reaper went to step threw last but stopped and turned around slowly. She lifted her hood and let it fall revealing her soft milky white skin and black hair. Her soft violet eyes met with Rukia's for a brief moment before she stepped threw the doorway and it closed behind her.
" hmm, it was me all along." Rukia whispered. Rias allowed a smirk to spread across her face as she envied the love this devoted young women had for this man.
" well I guess we should all continue as though nothing has happened until they return." Lucifer spoke as he turned and began walking away. The others nodded in agreement before they all began walking their separate ways.
