Scene CUTS to:
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
Camera tilts UP all the way to the treetops as a flying green bird Digimon flies towards the camera and flies into the distance away from the camera. Camera switches to POV SHOT of a unseen character jumping further from tree branch to tree branch. Camera switches back to EXTREME CLOSE UP SHOT of the bird Digimon's eye looking at the opposite direction while flying. Camera switches again to unseen character's POV SHOT as the character stops jumping and hides behind a tree trunk. Camera switches back to CUT-IN SHOT of the bird Digimon's talon crushing on one of the tree tops and pulls it off. The bird searches inside and finds nothing. Camera pans RIGHT to the unseen character revealing to be a young boy dressed in native garments known as KEENAN CRIER.
KEENAN:
Parrotmon. Huge predator. Must not be in our way. Falcomon?
His partner Digimon FALCOMON appears alongside him.
FALCOMON:
I am ready, Keenan.
KEENAN:
*turns head to right* Helmet girl with glasses, are you ready?
Camera tilts DOWN to a young woman with big glasses and a sporting helmet known as YOLEI INOUE.
YOLEI:
I have a name, you know! It's Yolei!
KEENAN:
Keep voice low. Don't want predator to know we're behind him.
FALCOMON:
We must attack him by surprise.
YOLEI:
At least, we found something entertaining instead of looking for a way out of this forest.
YOLEI's partner Digimon HAWKMON flies down next to YOLEI.
HAWKMON:
Yolei, your becoming too anxious about this place. I suggest we focus on fighting this rapid beast.
YOLEI nods in agreement. PARROTMON as still searching under the treetops for prey. KEENAN and FALCOMON try to sneak up on PARROTMON from behind. YOLEI and HAWKMON try to follow in the same position in the different direction. CUT-IN SHOT of YOLEI's foot slipped on the tree bark which made a rough sound. PARROTMON sensed the sound and turns to a treetop. It charges and fires an electrical attack from its forehead. The attack hits a treetop which was fortunately next to the treetop YOLEI was on. PARROTMON checks in for prey but still found nothing.
KEENAN:
(off-screen) Now!
PARROTMON:
Kree?
KEENAN and FALCOMON leap from their treetop towards PARROTMON.
FALCOMON:
Ninja Blade! *flings shuriken*
The shuriken hit PARROTMON's face. YOLEI and HAWKMON leap from the other direction.
YOLEI:
Hawkmon, go for it!
HAWKMON:
Aye-aye! Feather Strike! *throws feather-top like a boomerang*
The feather hits PARROTMON in the beak as it returns to HAWKMON.
PARROTMON:
Kree! Sonic Destroyer! *fires electrical attack*
YOLEI and HAWKMON leap to a couple of tree branches to avoid the attack. KEENAN and FALCO hide behind a tree trunk. to avoid the attack. PARROTMON angrily starts ripping off each treetop with its talons.
KEENAN:
Go!
The four leap further into more tree branches as PARROTMON gives chase by ripping off each treetop.
KEENAN:
*while leaping* Surprise attack not effective. *takes out Digivice* We need power.
YOLEI:
*while leaping; takes out D-3* Way ahead of you, Keenan.
KEENAN powers his Digivice with D.N.A. energy.
KEENAN:
D.N.A. Charge...Overdrive!
FALCOMON:
Falcomon double-wrap digivolve to...
RAVEMON:
Ravemon!
YOLEI:
*holds up D-3* Digi-Armor...Energize!
HAWKMON fuses with the power of the Digi-Egg of Sincerity.
HAWKMON:
Hawkmon armor-digivolve to...
SHURIMON:
Shurimon, the Samurai of Sincerity!
SHURIMON and RAVEMON run towards PARROTMON.
YOLEI:
With twice the ninja on our team, we double the power!
RAVEMON flies around PARROTMON to distract it while SHURIMON camouflages into the trees. PARROTMON tries to look for SHURIMON.
SHURIMON:
(off-screen) Now you see me, now you don't.
PARROTMON tries to focus with RAVEMON still flying around.
PARROTMON:
Sonic Desttroyer! *fires attack at RAVEMON*
RAVEMON quickly takes out his sword and slices off the electrical attack. PARROTMON was irritated as it uses Sonic Destroyer multiple times on multiple treetops. The damage shows no results of SHURIMON's presence.
RAVEMON:
Spiral Raven Claw! *rotates claw into whirlwind and charges*
RAVEMON hits a distracted PARROTMON hard on the cheek. PARROTMON tries to claw at RAVEMON but he swifts to doge it. PARROTMON constantly tries to slash RAVEMON with its claw. RAVEMON evades each claw move with his sword.
KEENAN:
Keep technique in tact.
YOLEI:
Shurimon!
SHURIMON leaps out of camouflage.
SHURIMON:
Here I am! Double Star! *throws shuriken*
The shuriken cut through some of PARROTMON's feathers.
RAVEMON:
Blast Wing! *powers wing on left arm; throws a energy blade*
The energy blade cuts more of PARROTMON's feathers. PARROTMON was damaged and fell off the sky.
KEENAN:
Nice job, Ravemon!
RAVEMON:
A pleasure, Keenan.
YOLEI:
Way to go, Shurimon.
SHURIMON:
Thank you.
YOLEI:
Maybe now we can find some answers about this place.
PARROTMON crashes to the ground. PARROTMON's POV SHOT of him slowly opening his eyes with YOLEI, KEENAN and their Digimon in his view. PARROTMON struggles to get up.
YOLEI:
Okay, quit playing fowl, birdbrain!
KEENAN:
Speak, Digimon! Want answers!
YOLEI:
How do we get out of this place?
PARROTMON:
Kree...
KEENAN:
Talk!
PARROTMON:
Kree...never!
PARROTMON weakly flies off the ground.
YOLEI:
Stop that bird!
SHURIMON uses Double Star and RAVEMON uses Blast Wing. PARROTMON flies higher to the sky to avoid the attacks.
KEENAN:
No fair!
YOLEI:
Hey, Polly! I'll give you a cracker if you tell us.
PARROTMON ignores YOLEI and escapes. YOLEI stands all dumbfounded. SHURIMON walks over to YOLEI.
SHURIMON:
I don't think he would fall for such a clichéd joke.
KEENAN:
After it!
YOLEI, KEENAN and their partners chase after PARROTMON. Camera ZOOMS OUT to reveal the forest was being viewed via television screen.
INT. DARK TV ROOM
A silhouette was sitting a recliner watching the screen.
?:
So, they're lost in the big, dark forest, eh?
CUT-IN SHOT of the silhouette summoning something.
?:
Don't worry. We're going to have lots of fun. *laughs*
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
PARROTMON was still being chased by the group. SHURIMON leaps through each tree branch while RAVEMON tries to fly closer to PARROTMON.
YOLEI:
We're getting close!
INT. DARK TV ROOM
Camera reveals that the silhouette had summoned a multiple control panel.
?:
Let the fun begin! *pulls lever*
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
PARROTMON suddenly flew higher into the sky. The group stops running and look up for a moment. PARROTMON was so high that their respective couldn't catch a glimpse of him.
YOLEI:
Aw, man! We lost him! I wish we would've catch it in a giant canary cage!
KEENAN:
Digimon can't be too far. *takes out boomerang* It be back. I know it.
YOLEI:
Are you sure, Keenan? 'Cause that bird was the only Digimon we can find clues about this forest. It's like this forest doesn't even exist!
KEENAN:
Yolei...relax.
A slightly annoyed YOLEI responded to the request.
SHURIMON:
Yolei might be right. If this is a forest, shouldn't there be other Digimon be inhabiting here?
RAVEMON:
He's got a point. What do you think, Keenan?
KEENAN:
*pauses; looks around the forest* ...Possibly.
YOLEI:
Then, how about this: we'll check out this forest for other Digimon. Maybe they know a way out.
KEENAN:
Worth a try. Let's search.
The group heads deeper in the forest.
INT. DARK TV ROOM
The silhouette was digging around in a toy chest next to his control panel.
?:
...A-ha! *takes out something off-screen* This oughta keep the game flowing.
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
YOLEI searches under a log while KEENAN climbs up a tree and looks inside a hole in the trunk. Their Digimon were reverted back to HAWKMON and FALCOMON.
KEENAN:
Hmm?
FALCOMON:
*flies up next to KEENAN* What is it, Keenan?
KEENAN:
Forest feels...strange.
FALCOMON:
What do you mean?
KEENAN:
Known trees entire life. These trees feel...unnatural.
FALCOMON flies up to one of the tree branches and sniffs the leaves.
FALCOMON:
Hmm?
FALCOMON takes a bite one of the leaves. After a moment, FALCOMON starts gagging and spits out the leaf.
FALCOMON:
The leaves don't taste like leaves!
KEENAN:
What?
FALCOMON:
They taste like...paper.
YOLEI:
Paper?
HAWKMON examines one of the tree trunks and knocks on it.
HAWKMON:
This tree trunk doesn't feel like rough bark. It feels like harden plastic.
KEENAN:
Plastic?
YOLEI:
So, what are telling us is that this forest is...fake?
Scene BRIEFLY CUTS to:
INT. DARK TV ROOM
The silhouette starts pressing buttons and pulls levers.
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
The ground starts shaking. The group was losing their balance. Suddenly, half of the ground that YOLEI and HAWKMON stand on starts moving LEFT like a moving walkway.
KEENAN:
Ground is...moving?
YOLEI and HAWKMON were getting moved away from the moving ground.
HAWKMON:
What the-?
YOLEI and HAWKMON try to move forward but they were strongly swept away in the distance.
YOLEI:
Keenan, help!
KEENAN and FALCOMON start running after them.
FALCOMON:
We're coming!
KEENAN and FALCOMON were running but they feel that haven't caught up ahead. They look down as camera tilts down to reveal that they running on a moving walkway moving in the opposite direction.
KEENAN:
You kidding me?!
KEENAN and FALCOMON were swept away in the distance.
INT. DARK TV ROOM
The silhouette was setting up figurines onto something.
?:
(off-screen) Your time to shine, my little friends.
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
YOLEI and HAWKMON were pushed to a distant area at the end of the walkway.
YOLEI:
Since when did forest ever turn into a fun house?!
HAWKMON:
Apparently, I'm not having the least bit of fun.
YOLEI:
I wish someone would show us the way out this so-called forest!
?:
(off-screen) Yoo-lei!
YOLEI:
Huh? Who's there?
HAWKMON:
*waves to something* Yolei, look! It's Davis!
Camera PULLS OUT to see DAVIS MOTOMIYA in the distance.
DAVIS:
*monotone* Hello, Yoo-lei!
YOLEI:
*gasps* Davis!
YOLEI and HAWKMON run up to DAVIS. DAVIS was basically standing in an odd manner with a blank expression.
YOLEI:
Boy, am I glad to see you! You have no idea how crazy this forest is.
DAVIS:
*monotone* I'll say.
YOLEI:
Do you know a way out of here? We got separated from Keenan.
DAVIS:
monotone* Sure do, I found Kevin as well. I'll take you to him.
YOLEI:
It's Keenan, but who cares! We're getting out of here!
YOLEI and HAWKMON follow DAVIS.
Camera quickly PANS RIGHT to a distant area where KEENAN furiously looks for a direction forward.
KEENAN:
*growls* Forest is under curse!
FALCOMON:
Honestly, paper and plastic wouldn't put this forest under a curse.
KEENAN:
Sign, I need sign!
?:
(off-screen) Kevin?
KEENAN and FALCOMON turn their puzzled heads. FALCOMON spots something off-screen.
FALCOMON:
I say, isn't that Marcus?
KEENAN turns to where FALCOMON sees as the camera PULLS AWAY to see MARCUS DAMON standing odd with a blank expression as well.
KEENAN:
(off-screen) Marcus!
KEENAN and FALCOMON run to MARCUS.
KEENAN:
What you doing here?
MARCUS:
*monotone* I came to help you find a way out of the forest.
KEENAN:
You sound okay? Don't seem like yourself.
MARCUS:
*monotone* I have a cold. Come on, I'll take you to your friend.
KEENAN and FALCOMON shrug as they follow MARCUS. Camera switches to YOLEI and HAWKMON following DAVIS. YOLEI was happy but HAWKMON slowly became suspicious.
HAWKMON:
*whispers* Yolei?
YOLEI:
What's up, Hawkmon?
HAWKMON:
*whispers* Are you starting to get the feeling that there's something strange about Davis?
YOLEI:
No, why?
HAWKMON:
Well, for starters-
Camera switches to KEENAN and FALCOMON following MARCUS where FALCOMON is also whispering to KEENAN.
FALCOMON:
*whispers* I don't see Agumon anywhere near him.
KEENAN:
He probably sleeping in Digivice.
FALCOMON:
*whispers* That's also another problem. Look.
KEENAN and FALCOMON notice that there is a Digivice absent on his belt.
FALCOMON:
(off-screen) *whispers* He's not carrying his Digivice.
Camera switches back to YOLEI and HAWKMON noticing the same problem with DAVIS lacking his D-3.
YOLEI:
Okay, that's pretty strange. *to DAVIS* Hey "Davis"?
DAVIS:
*monotone* Yes?
YOLEI:
Where's your Digimon partner Veemon?
DAVIS:
*monotone* Oh! He's, uh...
Camera switches to MARCUS under pressure as well.
MARCUS:
*monotone* ...On a look-out for danger? *nervously chuckles*
KEENAN and FALCOMON were more suspicious than before.
Scene briefly CUTS to:
INT. DARK TV ROOM
The silhouette bangs his hand on the chair.
?:
Stupid, I know I should've made those figurines more convincing!
EXT. DEEP FOREST AREA
YOLEI, HAWKMON and "DAVIS" reach a dead end.
YOLEI:
What is this place? *to "DAVIS"* Davis, you jerk! *grabs ahold of him* You are trying to be funny 'cause I-huh?
YOLEI feels "DAVIS" arms that they're made of wood.
YOLEI:
His arms are made of...wood?
"DAVIS" had no response. YOLEI then pulls "DAVIS" as she felt that he pulled by something. "DAVIS" then collapsed on the ground. YOLEI shrieks in a scared position in response.
YOLEI:
I killed Davis!
HAWKMON:
That's not Davis. Look what's tied to his arms.
YOLEI examines closer and feels something. She looks closer and the camera ZOOMS IN to reveal a transparent string.
YOLEI:
A...string?
YOLEI realizes something.
YOLEI:
If that's not Davis, then that means this one's a-
Camera switches back to KEENAN reacting in the same manner with FALCOMON and "MARCUS".
KEENAN:
Fake?!
FALCOMON:
Actually, it looks more like a...
Scene splits into two screens showing HAWKMON and FALCOMON.
HAWKMON & FALCOMON:
...a puppet!
YOLEI and KEENAN were then shown on the split screen.
?:
(off-screen) *evil laugh*
Scene focuses on YOLEI and HAWKMON looking around for that voice.
YOLEI:
Who's there?!
?:
(off-screen) Very clever. You're more interesting than I thought you were.
Scene switches to KEENAN and FALCOMON searching as well.
KEENAN:
Show yourself!
Camera TILTS UP to the sky as the sky suddenly "opens up" like a cardboard box. Camera switches to YOLEI and HAWKMON.
YOLEI:
The sky is...opening?!
Camera switches to KEENAN and FALCOMON.
KEENAN:
Unnatural!
KEENAN suddenly felt being pulled up by something invisible.
KEENAN:
Hey! Wha-?!
FALCOMON:
Keenan!
KEENAN was pulled higher into the open sky. Camera switches to YOLEI being pulled up in the same manner.
YOLEI:
I'm going too high! Hmm?
YOLEI realizes she was pulled up by transparent puppet strings.
YOLEI:
Puppet strings?!
YOLEI and KEENAN spot each other being pulled up.
KEENAN:
Yolei, you right! Forest doesn't exist!
YOLEI:
I know! But, who's doing all this crazy tricks?!
?:
(off-screen) You really want to know?
YOLEI and KEENAN reached out of the sky. BIRD's EYE VIEW SHOT reveal the forest is a small scale model with figurines placed over it.
YOLEI:
The forest is... a model?!
?:
(off-screen) How right you are, my new playmate!
YOLEI:
Playmate?
Camera rotates around YOLEI and KEENAN were being pulled by a control bar being held by the silhouette revealing himself as PUPPETMON but in gigantic size. YOLEI and KEENAN became scared.
PUPPETMON:
Welcome friends to my game...of doom! *maniacal evil laugh*
