Disclaimer: I do NOT own How to Train Your Dragon (2)

A Tide Glider appeared in front of Ayla and lowered its head to look at her. Ayla stayed calm and closed her eyes. The Tide Glider closed its eyes as well and Ayla heard the sound of something moving again. When she opened her eyes, she saw a young girl sitting down in front of her. Ayla narrowed her eyes, trying to remember if she has seen the girl before.

"C-Current? Is that your name?" Ayla asked.

The girl nodded with a smile and looked behind her as another girl came into view.

"Aquata!" Ayla exclaimed happily and tackled her friend to the ground.

"Ayla! I've been looking for you for the past few weeks! Is this where you have been the whole time?" Aquata greeted while Ayla got off her.

"Well, kind of..." Ayla answered.

"What does 'kind of' mean?" Aquata asked, narrowing her eyes.

"I'll explain it later. Just come with me." Ayla told the two and began to walk away.

Aquata and Current looked at each other with confused looks before they shrugged and followed Ayla. Ayla had led them to the cove where she, Rusty, and Ymke were staying at. Luckily, the two were still in the town getting some supplies. Once in the cove, Ayla told them to get in the water, knowing that Ocean Dwellers don't like to be out of water for a long time.

"Okay, so if you may not notice my wing is injured." Ayla told them, gesturing to her wing.

Aquata nodded, she noticed the broken wing when she first saw Ayla.

"You also know that I can't change to my human form when a part of my dragon half is wounded." Ayla explained.

Both Aquata and Current nodded.

"So how did you end up here if your wing is broken?" Current questioned.

"I'm not sure, but I do know that it was a Wingless who injured me." Ayla answered.

Both Current and Aquata gasped.

"You met a Wingless?!" Aquata exclaimed.

Ayla nodded. "Yeah, I met a few..."

"And you got out alive?" Current asked, receiving another nod.

A noise coming from the entrance of the cove alerted all three of them. Aquata and Current looked towards the entrance while Ayla quickly got up and blocked their view with her uninjured wing.

"Ayla move, I can't see." Current said.

Ayla continued to stay still, she looked to the side nervously. Please don't let it be them...

"Hey Ayla! We're back!" Ymke said, unaware of the visitors.

Shoot.

"Who was that?" Aquata asked, trying to look past Ayla's wing.

"Um...no one?" Ayla answered nervously.

"Ayla who are you talking to?" Rusty asked.

"Uh..." Ayla said.

Ymke dropped whatever she was holding and walked over to Ayla. She placed a hand on Ayla's wing and lowered it to see what she was hiding.

Shouldn't have done that...

"Wingless!" Aquata and Current exclaimed and growled at Ymke and Rusty.

"Um...Ayla?" Rusty said.

"What's going on?" Ymke asked.

"Looks like I have some explaining to do..." Ayla mumbled and stood in front of Ymke and Rusty. "Do not hurt them, I'll explain why. Just sit down." She added. The two halfings calmed down and did as they were told. Ayla took a deep breath and began to explain everything.

After several minutes of explaining, Ayla finally finished. Aquata and Current were silent for a moment before they looked at the two humans.

"So, they helped you?" Current asked.

"Yeah and I think they are trying to fix my wing." Ayla answered with a smile.

Current nodded.

"So, now that I'm done explaining, why don't you introduce yourselves?" Ayla told them.

"Well, I'm Aquata and that's Current." Aquata introduced, gesturing to Current.

"Nice to meet you guys. I'm Ymke, as you may know, and that's Rusty." Ymke told the two newcomers.

Ayla smiled and walked over to where Ymke had put the stuff they had got back at the village.

"Oh yeah, Ayla. I think we might have found something that could help your wings." Ymke explained and took out a bottle of some blue liquid.

Ayla sat down and slowly unfolded her injured wing. The cut was starting to heal but it was still big enough to keep her grounded. Ymke opened the bottle and began to put some of the liquid onto the cut.

"And...all done! Now you just have to wait a couple days." Ymke said and took a step back.

Ayla smiled. "Thanks for all the help you have given me. I truly appreciate it."

"No problem!" Ymke said and hugged Ayla.

Ayla just stood there for a moment. She hadn't felt a hug for a long time, the feeling felt new to her but at the same time a new feeling, a good one. She smiled and hugged Ymke back. Then, the two finally separated.

It has been a few days and Ayla's wing is now healed. Ayla woke up and stepped outside. Aquata and Current decided to stay and were sleeping in the lake.

"Hey guys, wake up. It's time to go!" Ayla yelled.

After a minute or two, Aquata and Current swam up to the surface.

"You two go to the ocean when you're ready and I'll meet you by the shore." Ayla instructed. The two sea halflings nodded and got out of the water. They walked out of the cove and began to make their way to the ocean.

Ayla watched them leave before she began to pack some food.

Ymke then walked outside of the cave and noticed that Ayla was packing some food.

"What are you doing?" Ymke asked.

"Oh, um. I'm just packing some food." Ayla answered.

"For what? Where are you going?" Ymke asked.

Ayla sighed sadly. "I'm going back to my home."

"Oh, cool! I can tell Rusty to get rea-" Ymke said before she was cut off by Ayla.

"No, Ymke. It's just going to be me, Aquata, and Current who are going." Ayla told her.

"W-Wait, so you're just going to leave us?" Ymke asked.

Ayla stayed silent.

"Wow, so after all we've done for you, you're just going to leave." Ymke said in a dark tone.

"Ymke, please, you hav-" Ayla said.

"So you were just using us to help you get your wing healed. What about all the fun times we had, were you just faking it?" Ymke asked, slightly angry.

"No it wa-" Ayla said once again.

"Did you even care about us?!" Ymke yelled.

"I do care about you guys! I just have to go back to my home!" Ayla exclaimed.

"What? So you can just leave me and Rusty alone?!" Ymke yelled angrily.

"I'm not going to leave you guys!" Ayla told her.

"Then why don't we come with you?" Ymke asked.

"Because I don't want you guys to get hurt!" Ayla answered.

"So, you don't think that we can defend ourselves?! Do you honestly think we're that weak?!" Ymke said.

"I'm just saying that yo-" Ayla said, only to once again be cut off.

"Well, for your information, I'm not weak! I can take down your friends if I wanted to!" Ymke yelled.

Ayla was now really mad at this point. "Oh really! What makes you think that I would believe that?!" She yelled, taking a step forward.

"I was one of the people who helped capture some of your kind!" Ymke said out of anger and suddenly became quiet, realizing what she just said.

Ayla, stunned by Ymke's sudden outburst stood for a moment before she narrowed her eyes.

"What did you just say?" Ayla asked.

"I-I didn't say anything." Ymke said.

"No, you did say something. You said that you helped capture some of my family." Ayla said.

"Look Ayla, I can explain." Ymke said.

"I should've never trusted you." Ayla said.

"What?" Ymke asked.

"I should've known that you were with them." Ayla said.

"Please, let me explain." Ymke told her.

"There is nothing to explain! You were with those people! I thought I finally found a Wingless who would understand us. I guess I was wrong..." Ayla said angrily.

"Ayla..." Ymke said in a quiet tone.

"I don't want to see you ever again!" Ayla yelled. "I'm going now. Bye Ymk-, no wait, bye traitor." She added.

Ayla closed her eyes and transformed into her dragon form before she took off, taking the pack of food she had packed along with her.

Ymke watched Ayla leave with tears in her eyes.

Just then, Rusty walked outside, having to have heard the commotion.

"Ymke?" He asked.

Ymke stared at the floor. "What have I done?" She asked.
