Disclaimer: I do NOT own How to Train Your Dragon (2)

Ayla practically ran through the forest out of excitement, she was really happy to be back home. It has been 2 months since she was here. On the other hand, Ymke and Rusty were trying their best to catch up.

"Ayla! Can you please slow down?! We can't catch up!" Rusty exclaimed.

Said Halfling slowed down so that the other two could catch up. After a few minutes, all three of them were together again. Ayla looked around, she had seen this place a few times before...

Wait, this is the Unknowns Territory! This is bad...if they find out that...

"Um, let's go this way!" Ayla announced and began to walk away.

"Wait, what's over there?" Ymke asked, seeing something between the trees.

"It's probably nothing, let's go!" Ayla said urgently.

Ymke ignored her and slowly walked over to where the figure was. As she got closer, a growl could be heard.

Oh no...

Suddenly a Changewing jumped out of the bushes and tackled Ymke to the ground. Ymke let out a surprised shriek and tried to get away from the dragon while trying not to hurt it. The Changewing hissed at Ymke, it's eyes narrowed, and tried to bite her. But luckily, another dragon tackled the Changewing to the side, giving Ymke the chance to get to Rusty. The two humans watched as the Changewing and Night Fury fight. As they watched, Rusty seemed to notice that the Changewing was purposely trying to not hurt the Night Fury. The Changewing actually didn't look as mad as it was before.

The two dragons stared at each other for awhile before the Changewing made a low growl.

The Night Fury made a crooning noise and pointed to the two humans with its tail. Then it made its way over to cover the two by opening its wings, letting out a small protective snarl.

The Changewing looked at two humans and then back at the Night Fury before letting out a huff. It stepped into the shadows for a moment before a girl came out with her arms crossed over her chest.

"I hope you are right about these two..." The girl said with her eyes narrowed as she looked at Ymke and Rusty.

"Don't worry Veila, I know that they aren't dangerous." Ayla said. She had already changed back to her dragon form.

"Likewise...anyway, where have you been? You're dad has been searching every island for you. I thought you said you wouldn't take that long." Veila asked.

"Um...well...there was a...little problem in the plan..." Ayla said quietly.

Veila raised an eyebrow.

Ayla sighed. "I'll explain later, can you just tell the others to meet us at the hideout?" She asked.

Veila rolled her eyes and nodded before she disappeared into the shadows.

"Um..." Ymke said awkwardly.

"I'll explain on the way, just follow me!" Ayla said and dashed off.

Ymke and Rusty sighed and ran after their friend.

At the Hideout...

"So, those are my friends!" Ayla exclaimed.

"You have some..unique...set of friends." Rusty commented.

Ayla nodded and heard a noise coming from the entrance of the hideout as well as some voices. The owner's of the voices were revealed when Ayla's friends had walked through the entrance. Upon seeing Rusty and Ymke, her friends (except Veila) transformed into their dragon forms and went to attack them. But they were prevented from doing so when a Night Fury blocked the two and roared at the other dragons.

The other dragons immediately stopped in their tracks and changed back into their human forms.

"Ayla what are you doing?!" Sigrid asked.

"Yeah! Don't you know that there are humans right behind you?!" Aidan exclaimed.

Ayla changed back to her human form and sighed in frustration.

"Guys just calm down-" Ayla was beginning to say when she was cut off by Edzard.

"How can we calm down when there are humans right behind you!" He said.

"If you would've let me finish my sentence I would've said that I was going to explain everything to you guys." Ayla said in a slightly angry tone.

At that, everyone became silent and sat down on the floor.

"Thank you. Now, here's where it all began..." Ayla said and began to tell them about her adventure.

After awhile, Ayla had concluded her little story.

"Wow...so I guess those two aren't as dangerous as I thought." Aidan mumbled and looked over at the two humans.

Ayla nodded in agreement.

"So, what happened while I was gone?" She asked.

"Well, after you left we went to check out what's going on with the other tribes." Sigrid explained.

"It turns out that they were still mad each other." Aidan said.

"So we tried to talk to the leaders to stop them from going to war by explaining that it wouldn't help anyone." Edzard told her.

"But they wouldn't listen to us." Veila said.

"So we...uh...lied that you and Aquata were captured." Edzard mumbled.

"Wait...you what?!" Ayla exclaimed.

"It was the only way we got them to listen to us! Anyways, that worked and the tribes made peace with each other and helped in finding you two." Aidan explained.

"Yeah...so that's what happened." Sigrid said.

Ayla sighed. "Alright, well, I have to see my father so that he knows that I'm okay." She said as she walked towards the entrance.

Everyone nodded.

"Stay here with them and make sure they don't get hurt. I'll be back." Ayla said and flew out of the hideout.

Meanwhile...

Ayla's father was pacing around his home. "Where is she? Why did she leave? We have to find her...she's alive...I know it..." He mumbled to himself. He then heard the flapping of wings and turned around to see something he never thought he would see again. His daughter..

"Ayla!" He exclaimed happily and ran over to hug his daughter.

"Hey dad! Um...can you let go...you're squeezing me." Ayla said.

He quickly let go and smiled before it turned into a frown.

"Where have you been?! Why did you leave us?! You know how worried I was!" He said.

"I know but there something that I-" Ayla said but was cut off by some loud screaming that was coming from the distance...
