Best Team Mates Ever After Chapter 2

"… Apple White and Sky Smith?" Headmaster Grimm questioned. The room burst into chatter.

"How can that be?" Briar asked Blondie. "How?"

"Well," Blondie began. "There are more Rebels than Royals and they would see Apple as a threat."

"Yeah, so they think that by her winning Best Team Mates Ever After would help her make Rebels follow their destinies." Briar replied as they noticed Catherine Smith and Naomi White walk over to them.

"Isn't that strange that Sky and Apple would get voted out first?" Catherine asked. "I voted for Apple to leave as I thought that it was about time that someone else won."

"I agree with you," Naomi said. "I thought that someone else should win, like Cerise or Maddie. They hardly won anything yet." Catherine nodded.

"Everyone, calm down," Headmaster Grimm said. "We will do a recount." Still, Apple didn't stop yelling at Ruby, thinking that it was all her fault.

"It's not my fault!" Ruby yelled. "If some people think that if someone else to win, you should not judge them."

"But I'm the fairest of them all!" Apple screamed. "Besides, don't Katesh always judge their victims?"

"BE QUIET APPLE!" Cerise yelled. "I am sick of you tormenting my friends because they fight aliens or they are alien themselves. Just stop it and get your own life. Hardly anyone likes you. Are you wondering why you have been voted out first? There are most Rebels than Royals and the Rebels see you as a threat."

"Cerise is right, Apple," Maddie said. "You only care about your own happily ever after. I wish that we sent you away too."

"Why?" Apple asked, surprised.

"You are just mean and hateful to everyone who wants to follow their true hearts' desires," Sarah Jane snapped. "Just stop it. People had enough."

"I have to agree with this," Sky said. She turned to Apple. "I had enough of you trying to force one of our best friends to do their destinies. What is the point if you are the daughter of a hero and a villain? Think of what Cerise and all of those other Rebels are feeling. They do not want their destinies. We are done, Apple. As far as we are concerned, you do not deserve to fight aliens."

"Whatever after!" Apple said. "I'm outta here!" She walked off the stage and slammed the door. Sky walked up to Headmaster Grimm and quietly talked to him.

Before the contest, Headmaster Grimm agreed that if Sky was voted out, then she would commentate on any of the other competitions left.

"Hello everyone!" she said. "It's Sky Smith here. Headmaster Grimm and I came to an agreement that if I was voted out of the competition at any point, I would commentate for the remaining contests." Everyone applauded for this. They were all glad that she did not run off stage crying like Apple did.

"The next contest is a treasure hunt in the school library. See you in a week!"

As the contestants filed out of the hall, Sarah Jane and Ruby walked off together with Cerise and Maddie to do their shopping. For the treasure hunt, they were told to wear an outfit that looked like their personality. Maddie already knew what to wear, but she decided to go shopping anyway. Sarah Jane didn't have anything which showed her inner self. Cerise was going to find something wolfish. Ruby knew that she was going to defiantly struggle in finding something. She knew that there may not be anything there that would spell out her inner self, but she decided to go anyway.

"Have you seen anything yet?" Ashlynn asked. She and Hunter arrived in the boutique with Maria. Cerise nodded as she held up a cloak made with faux wolf fur and a beautiful sparkly red dress. Sarah Jane held up a light blue and white dress and a light pink cardigan. Ruby was still searching. "I can't find anything," she replied.

"Well, I run the Glass Slipper Shoe Store, so if you are looking for shoes, you can come in and have a look around."

"Thank you," Sarah Jane said. Ruby sighed, but she then pulled out a red dress trimmed with black lace. The dress looked like a ball gown. Ruby smiled, knowing that this was the perfect dress. She shown it to the others and they all agreed.

As they walked out, Ruby and Sarah Jane headed into the tower hair salon.

"Hello," Poppy said as they entered. "What can I do for you today?"

"Well," Ruby said. "Can I please have a new hairstyle? You can do what you think will look good." Poppy sat Ruby down and started spraying her hair.

A few minutes later, Poppy handed Ruby the mirror. Ruby looked in it and gasped in delight. Her hair now was in a bob and it was curled at the end. It was longer at the back which could be pulled into a pony tail. Ruby tried this, and she was really happy with it. Her hairstyle suited her perfectly, and it spelt out who she was clearly. She handed Poppy some money. "Thank you," she said.

"You're welcome," Poppy replied. "I try to help people find the hairstyle that suites them the most. You look amazing." Ruby smiled, and then Sarah Jane did something no one was expecting. She walked up to Ruby and kissed her on the cheek. "You look amazing, Ruby," she whispered. After that, Sarah Jane went quiet and ran out. Ruby was confused. Was that kiss the start of things? What was going on? Ruby walked out, trying to find Sarah Jane.

Over at the glass slipper shoe store, Sarah Jane told Cerise, Ashlynn, Hunter and Maria about what happened. "Wait, what?" Maria asked. "Sarah Jane, she's your friend."

"I feel like she is more," Sarah Jane replied. "Just don't tell Ruby, I'll tell her when I'm ready."

"Don't worry, Sarah Jane," Hunter told her. "Your secret is safe with us." Sarah Jane smiled as she and Cerise picked some shoes and paid for them. Just at that moment, Ruby walked in. "Hi," she said. Sarah Jane waved.

"I'm going to get a hocus latte with Cerise in a minute. Do you want to join us?"

"I will soon," Ruby promised as Sarah Jane and Cerise left. She sat down beside Ashlynn.

"Ashlynn," Ruby began. "I don't know how to say this."

"Don't worry, Ruby," Ashlynn said. "Take all the time you need."

"Well, I think I am in love."

"With who?" Hunter asked.

"I think I am in love with Sarah Jane," Ruby replied. "The thing is, I don't know how to say it to her. I'm worried that I'm going to mess up."

"You shouldn't worry," Ashlynn replied. "You will be just fine." Ruby nodded, hoping that this was true. She picked some cute red slippers and paid for them. She then left the shop to find some parchment and a pen. She was going to have a go at poetry for Sarah Jane, only problem was, Ruby didn't know how to do this. She didn't want to ask Sarah Jane in case she found out, so she asked Raven instead. She called her and told her to meet her in her office as soon as possible. After that, Ruby waited for Raven to turn up.

Soon, Raven entered the room. "Hi Ruby," she said. "Are you all right?"

"No," Ruby replied. "The thing is," her voice dropped to a whisper "I am in love with Sarah Jane and I want to write her a poem, but I don't know how to write one."

"Well," Raven began. "You need to think about everything that you love about her, her personality. Then you need to write it down in poetry form, so it can rhyme if you like, but it doesn't have to."

"Thanks Raven," Ruby said. "I think I know what to do now."

"I'll happily stay to make sure that it is perfect for when you give it to Sarah Jane." Ruby nodded as she started writing.

At the Beanstalk Bakery, Sarah Jane and Cerise were getting worried. Ruby hadn't turned up and they didn't know what to do. It was nearly the end of the day as well. "I hope she turns up soon," Sarah Jane said. Cerise nodded.

"She said that she would be here soon." Just when she said that, everyone started crowded round them. Apple, Briar, Ginger, Blondie, everyone except Raven and Ruby.

Soon, Raven and Ruby arrived just as Headmaster Grimm turned up to see what was going on along with the rest of the staff.

"Come on Ruby," Raven pestered. "You can do it." Ruby nodded as she walked towards Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane looked up at her, wondering what was going on. "Ruby, what's going on?" she asked, confused.

"Well… um…" Ruby began. "Er…"

"ENOUGH!" Headmaster Grimm yelled.

"NO!" Raven yelled. "Headmaster, you don't understand!"

"I understand enough," he said. "Now all of you, clear off." No one moved, wondering what was going on, what Ruby was going to say.

"Well…" Ruby said. She looked at Raven, who had a guitar, so help her get going if she couldn't say it. Ruby nodded at Raven and Raven began to play a calm, loving sort of music. It soothed the Headmaster and Sarah Jane looked up into Ruby's eyes.

"I thought we were over and done,

Before we even begun,

Heartbreak and tears,

But no love,

We were just wrong, so wrong,

I just want to say," Ruby then took hold of Sarah Jane's hand.

"I, I love you so much,

Like a rainbow across the sky,

Stretching on and on and on, nothing parting between us,

I love you, like nothing can separate us ever again, ever again,

Your perseverance is spellbinding and keeps people going,

Your passion warms my heart when it was once stone,

And your love for others lets me home,

When you are there, there is nowhere else I want to be,

So, so please tell me too,

Warm my heart of stone,

Tell me; tell me how you feel,

I'll help you become happy when you are down,

But yet I know I may only be a friend."

Sarah Jane stood up. "Ruby," she said. "To me, you are more than a friend. The truth was, when I danced with you after we defeated your sister, I think I loved you too."

So, it seemed to work both ways. Both Sarah Jane and Ruby were happy, but there was still Best Team Mates Ever After to think about.

ONE WEEK LATER…

Cerise, Ruby, Sarah Jane and Maddie were the first four contestants to get there, so now they were only waiting for Ashlynn, Maria, Ginger and Rani.

Hello CeriseHood5050.

Hello Maddie. I was wondering why you were not talking to me.

Now that is mad!

I know. You do know that Ruby and Sarah Jane are in love, right?

That's hat- tastic!

Did you know before I told you?

Nope.

Well, I'm not telling you anything else.

That's called being boring.

As the narrator struggled to ignore Maddie, Ruby and Sarah Jane held hands as Ashlynn, Ginger, Maria and Rani turned up.

"Now," Sky announced. "The contestants have to find a book called Snow White which is hiding somewhere in the library, in the restricted section. Both people in the pairs have to work together to get past the step librarians and retrieve the book. There are only four copies, so one pair will be out again, the votes determine who will be voted out. The pairs are now entering the library. Of course, the evil step librarians do not know of the contest so the contestants will have to be very careful."

Ruby and Cerise entered the library first and saw the step librarians, the ducked down under one of the desks and crawled into the restricted section. Once they were in the restricted section, they began searching for the book and hiding in the shadows with the help of Cerise's hood.

Sarah Jane and Maddie next entered the library, not knowing how to get to the restricted section. Soon, Maddie started distracting the step librarians while Sarah Jane slipped into the restricted section. Once the step librarians looked away from Maddie, Sarah Jane motioned for Maddie to follow her, which she did. They were now in the restricted section.

Ginger brought in doughnuts she made herself and gave them to the step librarians. The doughnuts contained a sleeping potion, so the step librarians were soon asleep. They then motioned for Ashlynn and Maria to follow them and they raced into the restricted section.

"All pairs are now in the restricted section!" Sky announced. Everyone cheered. Some students had banners to support their favourite pair, and many of them had Cerise and Ruby or Maddie and Sarah Jane. Raven were cheering both Maddie's and Cerise's team as they were both her best friends forever after.

Sarah Jane and Maddie were searching for a copy of the book when Maddie started walking on the ceiling. "Maddie!" Sarah Jane hissed. "Get down from there!"

"But it's fun and impossible!" Maddie called back. Suddenly, her shoes lost their grip and she went crashing on top of Cerise and Ruby. Cerise growled in shock. "Next time," Ruby said calmly. "Just say something to alert people that you are about to fall on top of them." Maddie quickly helped them up and they continued on their search after Maddie apologised to them.

Ginger and Rani were not getting much luck. They had hardly got anywhere when there was a crash coming from close by. They were on their way there when they bumped into Sarah Jane and Maddie. "What happened?" Ginger whispered.

"I accidently fell on Cerise and Ruby," Maddie replied.

"How did you do that?" Rani asked.

"Sometimes things are impossible if you think of it. Mind you, I was walking on the ceiling, trying to find the book."

"That sounds impossible," Ginger said.

"It was," Sarah Jane replied when they heard a fanfare of trumpets.

"One of the pairs must have found their copy of the book," Sarah Jane said.

"Come on then!" Maddie yelled as she bounced away.

Ashlynn and Maria also heard the fanfare of trumpets. "I wonder who got their copy of the book," Ashlynn said. At that moment, they met Sarah Jane, Maddie, Ginger and Rani. "It seems like Cerise and Ruby found their copy." Maddie said. The others nodded as they made their own ways.

Sarah Jane and Maddie soon found a copy of Snow White and they both grabbed hold of it. In that moment, the trumpet fanfare began again and they were teleported into the hall. "YAY!" Maddie yelled. "Let's have a tea party." Sarah Jane, however, walked off to find Ruby, so Maddie had a tea party with Earl Grey instead.

"Sarah Jane and Maddie came though!" Sky called out. "Only Ginger and Rani and Ashlynn and Maria are left in the library. The tension is now building."

Ginger and Rani seemed to be wandering round in circles. "Had Raven enchanted this?" Rani whispered. "We don't seem to be getting anywhere." Ginger nodded in agreement. Suddenly, the trumpets sounded again and this time, both of the remaining pairs teleported back into the hall.

"Ashlynn and Maria got the last copy!" Sky said. Cheers went up from the crowd. "It is now your choice, your vote. Who will get kicked out this time? Stay to find out more!"
