There was a time when all I wanted to do was go to college and become a singer. That was until the day I found out I was adopted. I was on my mom's computer and an email popped up on the screen. I opened it and the email read:

Dear Sarah Brighton,

My family and I are so glad that you have contacted us about Diana. We loved her so much and it was so hard to give her up.

I wonder if it would be at all possible to meet her.

Johannah Tomlinson

Why is that last name sound so familiar? I thought to myself but I just pasted it off.

When I confronted my mom she confirmed what I had thought for years. I always had my suspicions that something was up. I mean I had brown hair and blue eyes but the rest of my family had light blonde hair and brown eyes, I never understood how I looked so different from my parents.

I was angry at first that no one had told me sooner. I then felt the pull that I should meet my biological mom.

My mom and I sat down and wrote a reply stating:

Dear Johannah,

Diana is very eager to meet you and your family. She has next week off if you would like to come and visit us in Los Angeles. How many of your family will be coming

Sarah Brighton

Almost immediately we got a response saying:

Sarah

That works perfectly. My husband and I will be coming along with my son and his four friends, Diana can hang out with them if she wants. We have booked a flight for Friday morning so we shall be there around noon if that's alright. See you soon.

Johannah

And it was perfect for us too, because I had a half day on Friday so I could be home by 11:30
