A/N: Next chapter! The song that is the inspiration for this chapter is Ho Hey by The Lumineers. This is one of my favorite songs ever, I never get tired of it! It's also a song with really nice lyrics:) I hope you connect at least some of the lines in the song with this one-shot. Enjoy!:)

Song: Ho Hey by The Lumineers

(Ho!)

(Hey!)

(Ho!)

(Hey!)

(Ho!) I've been trying to do it right

(Hey!) I've been living a lonely life

(Ho!) I've been sleeping here instead

(Hey!) I've been sleeping in my bed,

(Ho!) Sleeping in my bed

(Hey!)

(Ho!)

(Ho!) So show me family

(Hey!) All the blood that I would bleed

(Ho!) I don't know where I belong

(Hey!) I don't know where I went wrong

(Ho!) But I can write a song

(Hey!)

1, 2, 3

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

(Ho!)

(Hey!)

(Ho!)

(Hey!)

(Ho!) I don't think you're right for him.

(Hey!) Look at what it might have been if you

(Ho!) took a bus to China Town.

(Hey!) I'd be standing on Canal

(Ho!) and Bowery.

(Hey!)

(Ho!) And she'd be standing next to me.

(Hey!)

1, 2, 3

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart

Love – we need it now

Let's hope for some

So, we're bleeding out

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

(Ho!)

(Hey!)

(Ho!)

(The last one)

(Hey!)

Writing songs is something that Tobias Eaton enjoys doing. It is also something that helps him escape from reality, to escape life. There are so many people in the world that complain about small things like it's raining outside or that they don't know what to order at McDonalds. They complain about small things like that because they don't really know what struggling or what pain is. There are two different pains, the physical and the mental. Tobias has felt both, maybe not the worst of them, but at least parts of them. And they both hurt. The physical pain has left scars on his back, or rather, Marcus' belt has left scars on his back. This physical pain has also gone over to mental pain, the memories of the black belt against his bloody back and the words 'This is for your own good' still lingers in his mind. The worst mental pain, though, is when he sees her with him. When she's laughing at his jokes, when she's hugging his body, when she's looking into his eyes. Tobias was not that 'him' and that's what created this mental pain. Tobias never thought that he would turn into a love-sick person that writes happy songs to escape the real world. He scowled at himself for what he'd become.

Today he sat in the classroom, waiting for the english teacher and all of the other students to arrive. He was always early to class and he always took the extra time that he got to write some songs or doddle som ideas in his book that contains all of his writing. But today was a little different. He had only managed to write six sentences when someone caught his attention. Next to him stood the one and only Tris Prior, the girl who seemed to be the only thing on his mind lately. He looked into her eyes and she looked back, though her mouth wasn't open as his probably was. Embarrasing.

"Can I sit here?" she asked and pointed at the chair next to him. Her fingernails were painted in a black color, he noticed. Her question also surprised him since they were the only people in the classroom and all of the seats were empty. Still she wanted to sit next to him, for some weird reason.

"Sure" he managed to get out, hoping that he didn't make a total fool out of himself. She smiled and took the seat next to him. It was quiet for a while and Tobias decided to return to his writing. He didn't even get the chance to think about what to write before he heard her voice speak again.

"What are you writing?" she asked as she tried to read some of his words but he quickly closed the book. He didn't want anyone to see it.

"Nothing" he said, but he knew he qouldn't fool her as she raised an eyebrow at him. He swallowed thickly. "Just some songs" As he said that her eyes immediately lightened up. He couldn't help but notice how her eyes changed color from grey-blue to clear blue when she was happy.

"Really?" she asked amazed. "That's so cool! Would you let me read some?" Before he got the chance to answer the bell rang and the rest of the students, as well as the teacher, piled into the classroom. Tris raised from the chair and Tobias' heart sank when he realized that she had probably only sat next to him to be polite.

"It was nice talking to you...Tobias, right?" she asked and he nodded rapidly. She gave him a heart melting smile. "I really hope that you'll let me read some of your artworks sometime" With that she turned around and made her way to a new chair, that was next to a dark skinned girl. The girl looked from Tris to Tobias and then back at Tris again before whispering something in her ear. Tris just rolled her eyes, but Tobias could still see her cheeks turning pink. An idea for a new song suddenly popped up and he wrote down the whole song, knowing that he didn't want to escape reality anymore.

Tris Prior couldn't stop thinking about the dark-blue eyed boy that she had talked to before class. She was now lying in her bed, several hours later, and he hadn't once left her mind. He hadn't even left her mind when she was with Robert earlier this afternoon. She didn't bother having him there, but she would rather be able to talk to him for real than have imaginary conversations with him in her mind. He was shy and he was quite, but Tris knew that he observed everything, that he knows about everything that's going on around him. She's seen him throwing glances at her sometimes when he thinks she's not looking. She's also seen how he seems to avoid looking at Robert.

Robert is one of her childhood friends and she knows she can trust him with his life. Sadly, Robert seems to think of her as more than a friend. She's not ready for something like that, though, or that's what she thinks. She doesn't want to loose her and Robert's friendship, especially not to something like a relationship. She can't even imagine how it would be to date him, that's a to weird thought.

The song-writing boy, Tobias, is once again back in her head. She decides that she'll not ignore her thoughts and she thinks of how she wants to get to know him a little more.

The next day Tobias Eaton is more than excited when he sits down on a chair in the back of the classroom. The next lesson will be english. It's stupid of him to get his hopes up, yesterday was just a lucky day for him, there's no way that something like that would repeat itself two times. He opens his notepad and picks up his pen and starts to fill in a gap in one of his songs. Not long after that he's interrupted by the screeching sound of a chair being pulled out next to him. He looks up and he's met by a pair of stormy blue eyes.

"Hey" he said, surprising himself that he was the first one of them to say something. She had her hair out and it made beautiful blonde waves run down her back. He almost didn't have the power to resist it with his hands.

"Hi" she smiled brightly at him and he found himself smiling, too. He couldn't remember the last time someone made him smile so quickly, but at the same time he wasn't surprised that Tris was the one to break the shell. She was after all Tris Prior. That thought also made him remember that he had a question to ask her, a question that he had never asked anyone before and he was more nervous than what he'd ever been before.

"So you're writing again?" Tris asked with curiousness in her big eyes. She rested her chin in her hand as she moved closer to him. They were not that close, but Tobias could still feel his heartrate pick up pace.

"Yeah" he said. "Just fixing some of the old ones" He was proud of himself that he managed to get out a full sentence without making a fool out of himself. They jumped into a conversation where Tris asked him about his songs and where he answered all of the question as good as possible. In return Tobias asked her some question and suddenly she knew more about him than anyone else. As they talked thoughts about the other guy that Tris is with sometimes clouded his mind. He just hoped that the guy wouldn't affect the biggest question he wanted to ask Tris.

"So when will you show me some of the songs?" she asked him as she calmed down after laughing so much. It made his heart swoon, knowing that he was the reason to why she was happy right now.

"I'll show you," he said, working up his courage. "if you agree to go on a date with me" Now the question was out there. Either she would say yes and make him the happiest man alive or she would say no and then he would be heartbroken and embarrassed at the same time. Then he would really feel the mental pain. To his relief her face broke out in a huge smile.

"I'd love to go on a date with you, Tobias" she said and he made a small victory dance in his thoughts. They then exchanged numbers and decided a time and a date when he would come and pick her up. Soon the bell rang, but this time Tris stayed in the chair next to him.

Tris Prior had never gone on a 'real' date before, so she had no idea what to except on this one. Still, she thought that even if she had been on dates before she wouldn't have any idea of how this date would be like. Tobias was different and that's something that she liked about him.

After he asked her on a date they had talked in school and he had opened up to her more and more for each day. They both enjoyed each other's company and they found that they had a lot in common. Tris found it more difficult to get him out of her mind now a days.

Her friends liked to tease her, especially Christina. She always made Tris blush as she talked about how cute Tris' and Tobias' babies would be. All of her other friends didn't really take it as far as Christina did, but Tris was still a little embarrassed as they talked about her and her 'crush'. But there was one of her friends that didn't like how Tobias came into her life, and that was Robert. Tris knew that he was jealous as he told her that Tobias was a guy that only wanted to play around with her. That wasn't true, she knew that, but it still hurt her to know that she was the reason that her friend was in pain. It was not like she had to choose between Tobias and Robert, she already knew that she wanted to be more than friends with Tobias rather than with Robert. It was just Robert who had to face the fact that she would never be interested in him as more than a friend.

The doorbell rang and Tris knew it was Tobias. She run downstairs to open it and when she did she was met by his mesmerising dark blue eyes. He looked at her in awe and she silently thanked Christina for helping her getting ready for this night. She's in a pair of tights and an oversized shirt. Her makeup is light and she let her hair out, since Christina says Tobias always seems to like that. He had also told her to dress comfortable for this so she did.

"Hi, Tobias" she said and that seemed to bring him back from wherever he had been as he had been staring at her. She blushed deeply, not thinking that he would react in the way that he did.

"Hey" he said and the evening had begun for real now. Tris couldn't be more happy and excited than she was right now.

Her laugh was the most beautiful thing Tobias Eaton had ever heard. They were in his car, she was sitting in the passenger seat and he drove the car. They had just bought some take-out from Tris' favorite fast food restaurant and they were now on their way to a location that only Tobias knew about, since he refused to tell Tris where they were going.

"Please!" she begged, which only made Tobias laugh since it was like the hundred she tried to get some hints from him. She hadn't succeeded, so far.

"I won't tell you anything," he said as he turned of the car. "but you can take a look for yourself" He gestured to somewhere behind her and when she turned around in her seat to look at what he was talking about. He could hear her gasp and he hoped it was a good sign. They were now at a garden with beautiful and colorful flowers everywhere. Tobias had been here before, preparing it for the date so there was also a table with two chairs in the sea of flowers. He had laid the table beautifully with flowers from the garden and next to the table laid his guitar that he planned on using later.

Tris turned around to look at him and he saw so much in her eyes, happiness, adoration and love. She threw her arms around his neck and it didn't take long before his arms made their way around her waist. That was the best hug Tobias had ever received.

"Should we go and have a great time now?" he asked as they pulled away, still with their arms around each other. Tris gave him a big smile.

"We shall" she said and he gave her a kiss on the cheek before jumping out of the car and run around it to open her door. When she stepped outside he got the food in one hand and grasped her hand in his other. This was going to be the best night of his life. He also knew that as long as he had Tris he would never fell any pain ever again.

Never in her whole life had Tris Prior felt anything like this before. The feelings that flowed around in her body as she was with this man were indescribable. The evening had turned out great so far and she didn't want it ever to end.

"I have one last surprise for you" Tobias said as he stood up from his chair, just to come back some seconds later but with his guitar in his hands. "I did promise you that I'd show you one of my songs if you agreed to go on a date with me. But I thought I'd sing one for you, instead" As he said that Tris' heart almost jumped out of her chest. He started to drum the guitar strings and soon he singed along.

I've been trying to do it right

I've been living a lonely life

I've been sleeping here instead

I've been sleeping in my bed,

Sleeping in my bed

So show me family

All the blood that I would bleed

I don't know where I belong

I don't know where I went wrong

But I can write a song

He looked her in the eyes the whole time he was singing and Tris was amazed by how good of a singer, and guitar player, he was.

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart

I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

He put down his guitar but continued to sing as he stood up and made his way to stand in front of her. He held out his hand for her to take it. And she did.

I don't think you're right for him.

Look at what it might have been if you

took a bus to China Town.

I'd be standing on Canal

and Bowery.

And she'd be standing next to me.

They were now dancing together as Tobias sang softly. She understood how the lyrics connected with both of them.

He stopped singing and they stood still, just looking in each other's eyes. Tris couldn't understand how a boy could have such a impact on her. But she was more than happy to know that the boy was Tobias.

"It was beautiful" she said. "I loved it" And with that she stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips against his. As soon as their lips connected she felt a spark run through her whole body and she felt like she was on drugs. Her fingers played with his hair as his hands were on her back and hip, pulling her closer. She didn't want this moment to end but soon they had to pull away in need of oxygen. They looked at eachother and none of them could stop the smiles on their faces.

"You're my sweetheart" she sang quietly. Their lips found eachother once again and that was the beginning of something that would last for a very long time.
