Annabeth POV

"What do you mean that SHIELD has Percy?" Jason demanded. Ray took a deep breath and continued, "We were going to check on him again, and then we saw Fury. He's the director of SHIELD. And he was talking to Percy and Percy looked terrified. And…." "Ray calm down," Mike said. "Did they take him into SHIELD HQ?" Ray gave a nervous nod. Annabeth froze and began to shake. Piper and Jason grabbed her arms and steadied her. "W-what are we going to do?" she asked shakily.

Mike turned toward the scientist, "Doctor, show them possible ways that SHIELD can kill him." Dr. Sharp nodded and began a power point presentation. He began, "One way for them to kill him is called disembowelment…." "No" Annabeth snapped, "I don't want to know what they might do. I want to know what we're going to do." "Annabeth," Mike said calmly. "I don't really know what we should do." Jason sighed, "Well I think that we should break into SHIELD HQ." Piper and Annabeth glanced at each other and nodded.

Mike shook his head and said, "Do you know how dangerous that is? If we were discovered we would be killed too." Annabeth glared at him and said, "I don't care, as long as Percy is safe." Mike gave a frustrated groan and said, "Look Annabeth as much as I would like to it's pretty much not possible." Annabeth was about to open her mouth to tell him exactly what she thought of him, when the door flung open and a girl with red hair walked in.

"Yes Grace?" Mike said. The girl, Grace, said, "We've found her sir. And we've brought her in." Annabeth scowled and looked at Mike's suddenly pleased face. "Bring her in" he said. Grace nodded and turned and left, only to reappear with a girl with white-blonde hair and ice cold blue eyes. Mike smiled and said, "Look I need to know something's and you're going to tell me them." The girl looked up and glared and said, "If you think I'm going to betray the Kingpin and him you are dead wrong." Mike chuckled and said, "Raven White do you really think the Shark loves you?" Annabeth froze. She stared at the girl as the girl responded.

"Yes, he does love me." She said. Then her eyes met Annabeth's. And she continued

"At least I'm loyal to him unlike you, Annabeth Chase."

Natasha POV

Natasha watched as one of SHIELD's scientists ran scans on Percy. Clint was in with him at the moment, talking about random things. Fury turned toward her and said, "I hope you agree with my choice to let Percy into SHIELD." Natasha smiled and nodded and said, "He reminds me of myself before Clint came and helped me." Fury smiled. And then he turned to watch the procedure. "I've been looking into the building's the Kingpin sent him to destroy. One of them belonged to Stark.

Natasha froze and began to laugh, "I heard him complaining about that. That's just a bit funny." Fury nodded and continued, "I'm relying on you to keep them separate. Just in case Stark decides to take revenge for all the Iron Man suits stored in the building." Natasha smiled and said, "Don't worry sir. Stark will never find out that SHIELD is employing the guy that blew up his Iron Man storage unit." Fury laughed and then turned as Clint and Percy and the doctor came in. The doctor cleared his throat and began.

"Percy is in danger of degradation." Natasha blinked and asked, "What does that mean?" The scientist groaned and said, "It means that his powers may start to go haywire." Natasha began to get the picture and Fury asked, "Is there a way to slow the process?" The scientist shrugged and continued, "There may be a way. I've sent Percy's report to other scientists to get started working on the antidote." Percy looked nervous. He opened his mouth then closed it then opened it again. Then he said.

"I know what you're talking about. There is no antidote."

Natasha froze in shock.

Percy POV

Percy shuddered and began to tell them about his former partner Grace and how she went insane from the degrading and destroyed one of the Kingpin's houses. He told them about how he had been dispatched to take care of her. When he got to her she hadn't recognized him at all. She had stared at him as he tried to talk to her. Then she had attacked him. Percy hated what he had to do that day. He had had to kill his partner.

After he was done, Fury nodded and began to pace. "Dr. find an antidote immediately. I refuse to allow a child to be driven insane." The scientist nodded and rushed off then Fury turned to leave, "I'm going to discuss this with the Council. Keep me informed." Natasha turned to him and said, "Don't worry Percy. We won't allow you to end up like Grace. I promise." Percy smiled and said, "Thank you Nat. but if I start to go you have to get away fast."

Clint smiled and said, "We'll keep that in mind kiddo." Percy scowled, "I'm not a kid. I'm almost eighteen." Natasha smiled gently at him and the said, "Sorry about Clint. He has the manners of an elephant." Clint's mouth dropped open and he exclaimed, "I do not." Percy had to laugh and then he asked, "Can I call Raven? I need to let her know that I'm alright." Natasha nodded and Percy turned and left the room. He dialed Raven's number. She answered. "Rae, I'm just calling to….." "Hello Perseus Jackson." Percy froze. It was a male voice. "Who is this?" he growled.

"I am Mike Monorston," the man responded. Percy growled, "Where is Raven? What have you done to her?" Mike laughed and said, "Nothing. Yet." Percy began to pace. "What do you want?" Mike laughed, "That's easy. I want you." Percy stopped. "So here's what we're going to do. You're going to leave SHIELD HQ without your babysitters and you're going to meet one of mine at the corner. Then you might see your precious girlfriend again." He hung up. Percy stared at the wall.
