Zack got to his feet. He saw a trail of bloody footprints leading up to the window. He growled. " Take Julie to the hospital. I'm going after whoever did this." Samantha nods. Zack runs out of the building following the tracks. He got halfway down the street when he felt something go into his side. He howled turning around. A robed figure stood behind him. His blood fell onto the concrete. He held his side. The figure had hold of his axe. He pointed it at him. " It's a damn shame you left your wife unprotected." He sneered. He swung his axe. Zack grabbed it. " Someone is going after her next." Zack heard screaming. "SAM!" The figure pulled free. He struck Zack over the head with his axe. Zack blacked out.
" Zack!" shouted a voice. " Hey Zack wake up!" Zack felt someone shaking him. Zack's eyes slowly opened. He looked around finding himself in the hospital. He turned his head feeling it buzz gently. Tyne had hold of his hand. " Hey." She whispers. Zack looked around. " Samantha." He rasps. He gets up. " SAM!" he yells. Tyne holds him. " Shh it's okay. Fletch and Aaron are going after her." She comforts. Tears leaked out of his eyes. " My baby…She's dead." Tyne rubs his shoulder gently. " We got there but it was too late." He sniffs. " We found her. The bastard cut her open. " Tyne kisses the top of his head. He leans on her. " I'm going to kill the bastard that did this." He vowed. " I won't hold back!" Tyne sighs. " I know Zack." A nurse walked in. " Mr. Hitsugia? Your free to go now." He nods. He gets to his feet putting his clothes back on. Tyne smiles. She takes his hand. " I'll help you too." He nods smiling.
Brewster was waiting outside. " Let me go with you…please." He rasped. His fist clenched. Zack nods. " I don't have my axe though." Brewster smiled. He pulled out a fire axe handed it to him. " Just until you get it back." Zack smiles. " Alright let's go."
Samantha struggles to get out of the straps. Dai laughs. " Don't even try!" He pulls out his knife. " It won't help!" Samantha spat at him. " When Zack gets here you'll be sorry." Dai laughed at him. " Oh I doubt it." He held the knife to her throat. " Hey bucko!" The doors flew open. Dai turned around to see Brewster and two other robed figures. One of the figures pulled out an axe. " I'm here to take my wife and take my revenge." Dai laughed. " Bring it old man!" he spun the knife around in her fingers. Zack took his defense stance. Dai ran at him. Brewster got in front of them. He punched Dai in the chest. " Zack let me take him." Zack nods. He hands Brewster the axe. Brewster took a deep breathe. He swung at Dai missing. Dai laughed. He hit Brewster in the back sending him forward. Brewster growled. He slammed the axe into Dai's side. He cut downwards. Dai howled. He grabbed Brewster's wrist breaking it. He slapped Brewster away ripping the axe out of his hand. Dai charged for Brewster. Zack gasped. He got between Brewster and Dai. Brewster felt blood land on top of him. Zack had hold of Brewster. He was bleeding from the wound on his neck. " Zack?" asked Brewster. Zack grunted painfully smiling at him. Dai ripped the axe out of his neck causing Zack to bleed more.
Zack fell to his knees. He fell forward. He coughed. " Brewster….Safe Samantha…keep her safe." He begged softly. Brewster knelt by him. He shook his head. " No…You can't die." He held Zack close. " I've lived a long and happy life. I've raised a beautiful family." His eyes started fluttering. " Brewster…I couldn't protect Julie. I will be with you always. The hardest part is not saying goodbye…it's letting go." He went limp in Brewster's arms. Brewster shook. Sobs escaped out of his chest. He wailed crying into Zack. " No." He laid his mentor down. He got up. His body shook. His fists clenched. " You bastard." He wiped away his tears. He turned around. " HE HAD A FAMILY!" he threw a punch only to have Dai dodge. Dai swung the axe. Brewster grabbed it. He flipped Dai onto his back ripping it out of his hand.
Dai laid there. " Now I'm going to kill you." His brown eyes turned into a dangerous shade of topaz. Dai gulped. Brewster lifted up Dai. He threw him before slamming his axe into Dai's chest. Dai howled. Brewster smiled. " Now you get to know what your victiums feel like!" He pulled out the axe before landing it into his side as well. Dai kept crying out in pain. Brewster beat him to death with the axe. Pretty soon Dai went still. Brewster panted. He kicked Dai's body away from him.
Brewster cut Samantha free. Samantha ran over to Zack's body. She cried into him. Brewster knelt by her. He had his head down crying as well. They left the building taking Zack to the hospital.
They took Zack from them. Samantha leaned on Brewster crying into his neck. She had lost her daughter and now her husband. She excused herself for a minute steeping outside.
Shinji heard his phone going off. He answered it. " Hello?" he asked. " Shinji I need you here right now." Begged Samantha. " Something happened and I don't know what to do." Shinji nods. " Alright love just hang in there I will be there soon." He hung up. He flashed his lights picking up the pace. He got to the hospital finding Samantha standing outside. She ran into his arms crying into his neck. " What happened love?" he asked. " Zack and Julie are dead." She sobbed. Shinji felt tears leak out of his eyes. He held his wife close.
