Disclaimer: I do not own twilight

Rosalie's POV

As soon as dad had left, Jasper ran from my side and sprinted upstairs. I ran after him before he did anything stupid. Emmett's bedroom door was wide open so I assumed that he was in there. I went into his room where Emmett was rubbing his eyes awake.

"Under my bed" he slurred, tiredly.

I got down on my hands and knees so I could see Jasper. He was crouched under the bed, sulking.

"Jazz, come out here" I told him.

He ignored me and looked away. Emmett moved out of his bed and crouched down onto the carpet to view Jasper, too, on the opposite side.

"Come on, man. Get out" he said.

Emmett held out a hand under the bed to encourage Jasper to move out. I thought it was a bad idea at first because Jasper could be aggressive if he felt then need to be but instead, he just pushed Emmett's hand away and shifted his body so that he was lying down on his side with his back to me. I decided to move under the bed with him. Whether Jasper liked it or not, I was sure that Jasper wouldn't hurt me just to get his space. Once I was under, I stroked his hair to let him know that I was under there but he still didn't respond to my touch.

"Jasper, dad had to go" I told him carefully.

He continued to ignore me and even moved closer to Emmett's side. He hit Emmett in the knee to tell him that he wanted him to move out of the way.

"Don't move, he'll run" I warned him.

Jasper growled as Emmett refused to make a move. He started to hit him in the leg repeatedly; harder and harder each time.

"Jasper, stop it!" I told him, sternly.

He didn't listen as he began to kick.

"I said stop it!" I repeated.

Jasper turned his body around so that he was facing me and hissed.

"Dude, I think we should just let him go before he hurts us" Emmett suggested.

"No, I've got this. Jasper, do you want to go back on that mat?" I questioned.

He stopped making animal noises and looked away. Jasper hadn't even been on it for long but he already hated being forced to stay in the same place. He liked going in places where he wanted to go and would rather it stay that way.

"That's what I thought. Now come out of there" I ordered him.

He hesitated to move but once I raised my eyebrow at him, he rushed out and waited for me to get out too and once I did, he crouched by my side.

"Good boy. Now let's go make you some breakfast" I said.

I left Emmett in his room as Jasper followed me down the stairs and into the kitchen. I put a few slices of bread into the toaster and waited for it to toast. I know that Jasper wouldn't eat hot or warm food but he will have to learn eventually so that he could be fed proper meals. If I get him to eat some toast today, at least it will be a start. Hopefully he will eat it before it gets cold.

Jasper smelt the air as the bread popped out of the toaster. Well at least he has shown interest in the smell; that was a good sign. I buttered a slice and held it out to Jasper. He sniffed it but then looked away. I put the slice on a plate along with a few more slices and walked towards Jasper's specialised room.

I placed the plate on top of the coffee table which Jasper was familiar with eating at and took a slice of toast for myself hoping that if I eat a piece in front of him, it will encourage Jasper to have some, too. I broke a bit off the end and handed the small piece to Jasper. He took it with his hand and acted like he had no idea what to do with it.

"Eat it, Jasper" I instructed him before I took another bite.

Jasper took another sniff and then finally put it into his mouth.

"Good boy, Jazz" I praised.

I then handed him a whole slice which he accepted more willingly. He started to rip it up into smaller pieces which were about the same size as the piece I had given him and started to nibble on them. The butter on the toast had made his fingers greasy so once he had eaten another slice up, I led him to the bathroom sink and helped him wash his hands.

After I had dried his hands for him, I let him go off in his own direction which happened to be in Alice's room. Esme had walked down the stairs after just waking up. It was still rather early.

"Morning, Rose" she said.

"Morning, mum. I managed to get Jasper to eat something warm for breakfast" I informed cheerfully.

"Really? Well, good job because I thought it would take a while" she admitted.

Jasper was learning fast but I was sure it was because his memories were coming back to him. It might slow down once we begin to teach him new things but then again, he could just be a fast learner.

Alice's POV

Jasper had entered my room and lied by my side. I had just woken up but I hadn't got out of bed yet but now I didn't even want to move. Jasper was shifting his body closer to mine to make himself comfortable. I think it was rather cute.

When I took in his facial expression, I realised how sad he looked. He wasn't as full of life as he usually appeared to be. I slowly lifted my hand onto his face and rubbed his cheek with my thumb.

"Don't be sad. Everything will be alright" I whispered to him.

Jasper just closed his eyes and sighed. It seemed so human for him to do. I wouldn't have even guessed that he had an animalistic side of him if I didn't know him better. I didn't like seeing him this way though; I had to do something about it.

"Jazzy, do you want to go outside?" I asked him.

I knew that he was familiar with the question because Rosalie told me that he liked to play outside when he was younger. Jasper opened his eyes again and lifted his head. I take that as a yes. I got out off the bed and found some clean clothes to wear after I shower.

Jasper waited patiently in my room while I was in the bathroom. Once I was done, he followed me downstairs and into the garden. Once I opened the door, he ran up to the nearest climbable tree. I climbed it a little too but just so that I could sit down on the lowest branch. Jasper's eyes focused on the view, his head turning around to look over further trees since he was a lot higher than I was.

His head suddenly shot to the sound of something in the tree next to the one that we were in. It was a squirrel eating some sort of nut. Jasper was fully focused on it like nothing else mattered. He was tensed and appeared to be glaring at the rodent.

"Jazz?"

Jasper's head darted to look at me as I got his attention. He moved down the tree so that he was on the same branch as me. He licked is lips and then tried to speak.

"A..Alice…."

He seemed to be thinking about saying something else but wasn't sure what to say. He was still very unfamiliar to words so he was finding this very difficult.

"Show me" I told him.

If he couldn't tell me what he wanted to say, he should be able to show me. Jasper jumped down from the branch and waited for me to do so, too. I took a little longer since Jasper was a lot more experienced at this but once I was down, he grabbed my sleeve to make me follow him back into the house.

He guided me into the kitchen and then he started to search the cupboards. If I could take a guess, I would say that he was looking for something for me to eat. Perhaps when he was living in the wild, he was used to eating dead animals or even catching them himself so when he saw that squirrel; it reminded him of food which then also reminded him that I hadn't had my breakfast yet. It was very cute about the way he cared. It's like he is returning the favour when I had brought food to him so now he was kind of doing the same thing.

When he looked into the bread bin, it appeared that he found what he was looking for. He took out a slice and then observed the toaster. Okay, so as sweet as he was being, a guy who has no experience with this kind of equipment is a bad idea.

"Oh, Jasper, don't. It's okay. I'll make it myself" I intervened.

I didn't want him to end up burning himself. I'll have to warn mum that Jasper was beginning to get a little curious about the use of the toaster so she could find a safer place to put it. But for now, I'll make the toast so Jasper will know that I still appreciated his kindness and his thoughts to make me something to eat.

He followed me back to the dining room and watched me as I ate. He was crouching by my side but also seemed to observe the way I was sitting on the chair which was good because it would encourage him to try it out soon.

After I had finished eating, Jasper then dragged me along to his play room and gave me his pad of plain paper and passed me some colouring pencils. I guess he liked it when we drew together last time so he wanted to do it again.

I smiled at him and I was surprised to see that he had actually smiled back. He had an adorable dimple which I hadn't noticed he had before. He grabbed his own colouring book and started to colour in a picture whereas I drew one.

I suppose I will be spending all my time with him until Esme decides to start teaching.

I apologise for the short chapter. It's late but I wanted to update today

By the way, in the next chapter, I think I might speed things along by putting things in Carlisle or Rosalie's POV to summarise things as day and weeks go by otherwise this story is just going to drag along
