Thanks again for the reviews. Since I left the last chapter as a cliff hanger, I didn't want you to wait for too long. It's much shorter than my other chapters but I wanted you to all be clear on what actually happened which is why it's in the way Jasper is viewing things.
Disclaimer: I do not own twilight.

Jasper opened his eyes after having a short nap. He looked around to see if his daddy was still there. The last thing he remembered was daddy reading words to him; words that he was beginning to understand. He frowned when he found that he was by himself. Jasper no longer liked the feeling of being alone.
He jumped off the comfortable and velvety surface he now slept in and left his territory and walked into his mom and daddy's. He wanted to wake daddy up, to tell him that he wanted to hear another story. He didn't understand how everyone seemed to sleep for so long. What if a dangerous animal came along? What about those men with the dangerous weapons that hurt him once? How could they protect themselves if they were sleeping? Jasper couldn't go back to sleep knowing that the sleepers were vulnerable; somebody had to stay awake. They all stayed awake to protect him when he slept after all.
Jasper decided to let his mom and daddy rest instead so he quietly left their territory. His head turned in less than a second towards another door when he heard a strange noise from it. He heard it every night only to find out it was just the big human, Emmy, sleeping loudly. Jasper no longer felt threatened by him despite his size. Rose told him that he was much nicer than the other human, Edward. Jasper still struggled to say his name out loud but then again, he wasn't even trying. He didn't like Edward enough to spend his time saying his name properly because he was mean to his sister. Then there was Ali.
Jasper believed that she was his mate so he spent all his time with her; close to her. He enjoyed laying by her side when he entered her territory but then all of a sudden, he couldn't open the door anymore. And then she stops being around him. Jasper was so confused why she was being this way. He thought that she liked him back and even made him feel good the night before she changed. He just didn't understand. He decided that if Alice didn't like him back then he shouldn't like her. Ignoring her the way she did with him was a good idea so that's exactly what he did.
Jasper began to feel thirsty so he began to look for a source of drink. Whatever stopped Jasper from entering Alice's territory also stopped him from going into the place with all the food at night so when nobody was looking, he would take food and store it in his room so that he could eat the food at night but unfortunately, he had nothing to drink.
He remembered that water came out of two strange metal things with two different colors that he couldn't name yet but he couldn't remember how to work them. He only remembered seeing the water come out when the humans were brushing their teeth or washing their hands. Jasper tried to figure it out. He touched the metal thing, smelt it, even hit it with his fist in frustration until he finally gave up. He was about to give up and wake up his daddy or Rose until he spotted the cabinet door. When he is in the room with all the food, good things are placed behind a small door so it was a good sign although he didn't understand why they would but food and drink in a bathroom.
Jasper pulled the door open and found a few different objects that he had never noticed before but he knew that they were no good. But then his eyes suddenly landed on a bottle. He remembered that drinks were stored in bottles so without any hesitation, he grabbed the bottle and tried to take off the cap. It was another thing he found difficult but he was desperate to heal his thirst. Eventually, he figured it out and the cap was off and without a second thought, he swallowed as much as he could despite the horrible taste but he was used to tasting horrible things back when he lived outside so he let it go. It also felt rather thick in his mouth but he ignored it.
It wasn't until he put the bottle aside when he suddenly began to feel like he was burning from his insides. The pain became so overwhelming that he tried to call for his daddy but for some reason, words refused to escape from his mouth. His throat was burning more than anything but he remembered how his daddy always made the pain go away whenever he got hurt so he tried to stand so that he could wake him up but he collapsed onto the floor. His vision was getting blurry but he wasn't sure why. He had no idea what was happening. He felt so confused that he wanted to cry but he couldn't.
Jasper tried to stand again but he was unable to do so, so instead, he dragged himself out of the room with the horrible drink that hurt him. He didn't want to be near it anymore. He heard footsteps but he was in too much pain to even care. He just hoped that it wasn't a bad hunter or animal who would hurt him at his most vulnerable moment. Not managing to take the pain anymore; Jasper gave up dragging his body and collapsed once again.
He felt somebody by his side; somebody with shaking hands. He heard them shout. Did that mean they were angry? Were they angry at Jasper? He then heard another trail of footsteps sprint down the stairs followed by a mentioning of calling somebody. They sounded worried because their voice was shaky. Had Jasper done that? Jasper didn't want anybody to be mad at him. Would his daddy put him on the naughty mat? Would he make the pain stop first?
Jasper was feeling so exhausted that he could no longer keep his eyes open. What was the point? He could only see blurry figures anyway. He was finding it difficult to keep his eyes awake but he let the darkness take him anyway. Hopefully, that would take the pain away.
