We'd have had a slight bit of time to get ourselves together before boarding the train, if it weren't for the cameras trained on our every single move.

Peeta's eyes are red, giving off the impression he'd been crying.

At last we get on the train with heavy hearts knowing that at least I won't ever see my district again.

I look out the window seeing trees and fields whip by.

Turning around I ask Peeta "How many miles do you think we're going?"

"Probably about a fourth of a thousand" he replies after a slight pause.

Perhaps sensing my quizzical stare, he adds "That's two hundred fifty miles."

"How big is a mile?" I ask after awhile of confusion.

"Five thousand two hundred eighty feet" he says with a chuckle.

Interrupting our exchange Effie Trinket comes in and shows us to our rooms.

I run around the suite like area and shout with glee when I see a shower, and the clothes!

The clothes were beautiful, I change into a pastel pink dress that reaches my knees.

Halfway out the door I remember the little gold pin Madge gave to me.

I place it on the breast pocket of the dress and head towards the smell of food.

"Where's Haymitch?" asks Effie Trinket glaringly.

"Last time I saw him, he said he was going to just take a nap," says Peeta.

"Well, it has been an tiring day" says Effie Trinket."

Food arrives in seemingly endless amounts, all looking delicious.

After supper Effie whisks us away to watch the recaps of the reaping.

No one catches my attention aside from the girl from eleven, she's about my age and has similar proportions.

I watch the rest of the program before running off to my room.

Later~in the night

I dream of tribute mauling me to bits and wake up covered in cold sweat.

I jump out of bed and in an adrenaline rush, sprint to Peeta's room.

I crash into the door and tumble in.

"Prim?" Peeta asks softly, as if approaching a scared animal.

I look to the ground and mumble out an apology.

He doesn't respond, just pats his bed and waves me over.

I sit on the edge of his bed still crying.

"Bad dream?" He asks after I get situated.

"Yeah" I manage through sniffles.

He quietly scoops me in his arms and lays me in his lap.

"It's ok" He murmurs, "Just let it out"

He strokes my hair as I sob.

"It's late, you need to sleep" he says after a while.

Peeta walks me back to my room, and I lie in bed.

He lingers in the doorway and leaves, but not before he mumbles something.

"I'm going to protect and bring you home Prim, for the girl I love, your sister."
