Poketales-The Little Mermaid (Starring Nixie the Mermaid, and Sora the prince)
Chapter 3-An Accident
Author Notes: No own pokemon and no own fairytales~
The next day after the usual play with the people and pokemon of the sea the elder sisters of Nixie had felt that it was time to yet again go to the surface of the sea to explore and meet new pokemon. To say Nixie was sad was an understatement.
"Aww I wanna go too, Please grandmother let me go!" The wise woman smiled sadly at the youngest princess. "Oh sweet child you're still much too young, you could get swept away from the tides and get hurt.""Not to mention there'd be wild pokemon around."
Each sister decided to chime in. "That's right dear, scary wild pokemon that could go and eat you right up, guzzle you right up!"
"Stop it Icy, Nixie when you're a bit older you can come with us ok?"
"Yeah yeah then we can go and have fun!"
"I'll be sure to bring you something~ K Grandmother Sof we're leaving!"
All five wave goodbye as Nixie hugs her grandmother with a frown. "Oh grandmother!" A wrinkled hand pets her head soothingly, knowing her granddaughter.
"Don't fret child," she says with a smile, "Your time will come soon." She watches her siblings go up to the guards and their sharpedo.
Sharpedo the brutal pokemon, the evolved form of Carvanha. Also nicknamed the bully of the sea, it is said these pokemon can swim to about 75 mph and that their teeth are capable of ripping through sheet iron.
Each older princess take out their hair pieces to present to the guards, gaining them entry to the outer regions of the ocean. 'One day,' thought Nixie, 'I'll be able to go too, but oh how I wish I could go now…'
She spends the rest of her day in thought, none of the pokemon thought the grandmother was being fair, all of Nixies sisters weren't that older than her. Matter of fact the eldest was 23, not to mention Nixie was more mature then some of her sisters.
Dewgong just knew she had to do something…then it came to her.
"Nix, hey Nix I have a great idea!" The blond princess looks at her friend, curious as to what her long tailed pokemon is thinking of. "Late tonight after everyone is asleep, we sneak out, we'll go up to the surface and do some exploring." Nixie's eyes widen, she begins to worry.
"But how will we get through without getting caught? We can get in huge trouble if they find out." The sea lion pats the princesses shoulder with her flipper. "Don't worry leave it to me, and besides even if this was your idea they'd pin it on me anyway. All you have to do is sneak out and meet me outside in the coral garden. I'll do the rest"
The last thing Nix would want is to disappoint and worry her family but she's tired of staying home, she agrees and the plan is in motion.
Later that night
Wailord the float whale pokemon. The evolved form of wailmer. This is known to be the largest of all pokemon. With a height(or is it length) of averaging 47'07" this pokemon can dive down to about 10 thousand feet.
Along side Wailord is Dewgong who seeing her princess waves her over. "Good you made it. Well Uncle, she's here now open up so we can go." Though the whale pokemon isn't truly related to Dewgong they're family all the same.
"Ahhh the youngest princess, I thought I smelled trouble when you said you needed help getting to the surface. And it wasn't just the lunch I had earlier. Friad I can't help kiddo."
Dewgong grins toothly, knowing and preparing for his reluctance. "Are you sure about that uncle? I know your secret~ You see a long long time ago, you swam through the ocean and came across the palace, you stole one of the pearls of the mermaid kingdom as an engagement gift for auntie…Now what were you saying?" Nixie quietly giggles, as wailord pales, tongue-tied for a moment.
"Oh fine, you little brat, in you go your highness, and dewgong you'd best protect the princess with you're life!" He opens his mouth, and the little mermaid enters.
He closes his mouth, giving the princess the perfect way passed the guards. Both pokemon swim, going till they were only a few yards away from the surface. Nixie is released and the giant whale swims back, reminding dewgong to watch the princess and what not.
"See see, I told you I could get you to the surface." Her mermaid companion smiles gratefully at her, both giddy to see the night stars and the moon. Nearby is a glacier where both pokemon and mermaid hop to rest on. Gazing at the midnight sky. Unaware of the soon to be disaster that will take place.
Traveling their way was a boat, and a rather grand one at that. At the front of the boat was a prince, chestnut brown hair and deep green eyes that went with his tan complextion. Along with the lullaby of the waves he plays his flute, a gentle tune to match the sound of the sea. Right by his side is his friend and pokemon Leafeon.
Leafeon the grass evolution of eevee. Also called the verdant pokemon, it is always surrounded by clean air and uses photosynthesis like all plants. Leafeon uses sweetscent to help calm some of the sailors who had been given the unfortunate seasickness.
The captain of the ship, hired by the prince to sight see, sets off fireworks. Creating rainbow balls of fire into the sky. The prince watches the sea, enjoying the colors that reflected off its surface. He turns his eyes to a soon to be passing glacier, to spot a beautiful woman his age with long blond hair and deep blue eyes and a dewgong.
He notices her tail and shakes his head blinking, to find the mermaid and pokemon had disappeared.
"I wasn't just seeing things was I leafeon? There truly was a mermaid and dewgong right?" The pokemon stands up "Leaf!" unlike the merfolk only a few humans could understand their pokemon partners.
Sadly the man could not. However Leafeon had agreed and said that he indeed did see the girl and pokemon resting on the glacier.
But all that was interrupted with an announcement from one of the servants, I believe he was a butler of some sorts. "Attention all! Now it is with great honor that I congratulate, our dear Prince Sora on his 16th birthday. Here we have the gift sent over by your parents."
A clap of his hands and under the cloth is a statue of the prince's likeness. Leafeon growls at the stone statue. The prince though not really wanting or needing the gift act sheepishly.
"It's um…very nice." Yeah he didn't want it…but before anything else could happen, thunder came out through the sky. Suddenly the waves that were once calm and serene, become wild and overpowering. The boat catches on fire from the lightning strikes that follows soon after. The sea witch is causing a stir.
Everyone except the prince had managed to get into the lifeboats. "Prince Sora come on!" Leafeon stumbles on the deck, trying not to get its leaf caught on fire.
Sora worrying over his friends safety throws him overboard.
As he himself was about to join, the ship still had the powder used for the fireworks…the ship blew up and sank. Leaving the prince to fall into the sea, away from his sea crew and partner. And Nixie watched it all. She only had one thought after seeing the prince crash into the water unconscious…'I must save him!'
