"I want to go" I argued for the hundredth time

"No" Edward shot back

"You know I have to, they won't let this thing go on any longer than it needs to"

"Edward's right Bella. I see no reason right now for us to hurry up and head to Volterra. It's way too dangerous…" Carlisle added

"It's also dangerous if we do nothing" I interrupted

"You are not going to Volterra and that's final" Edward yelled

"But…"

"I don't want to hear it"

"This is all my fault. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gotten pregnant again"

Their shocked faces didn't surprise me but I didn't really care. I needed to go to Volterra. It was the only way they were going to leave us alone. I stormed out of the room and up the stairs to Edward's old room. I pulled the letter off the side table and read it over. There was a knock on the door and I quickly pulled the comforter over my small body. I felt weight on the bed as he sat down.

"You know that I love you and our children more than anything else in the world"

"I know" I mumbled

He pulled the comforter away from face and wiped my tears "It takes two to make a baby if I remember correctly" I laughed at him and he stroked my cheek "I got you to smile"

"It's still all my fault"

"Love, the Volturi always want to pick a fight. They saw an opportunity and went for it"

"We shouldn't have had another baby. We were pushing it when I was pregnant with Ryan. I don't want that to happen again" I shivered at the thought

"That will NEVER happen again" he said sternly "And we can have as many babies as we want. I don't care what anyone says. Aro doesn't get to control our lives"

"I feel like he does"

I sat up and placed myself next to my husband. He smiled and placed his hand on my stomach. I was so scared that yet again my child's life was being threatened. Every day I would wake up with this fear that the Volturi was interrupt our family and it finally happened. I wiped a tear that I didn't even know was there.

"What is it?" Edward asked me quietly

"What isn't it?" I asked "Our child's life is in danger yet again…"

"Our baby is not in danger" he interrupted

"Don't downplay this. You know as well as I do that if we don't respond to them they'll show up here"

"I'm not downplaying this"

"Then you'll let me go?"

"No"

"What if you come with me?"

"You really thought I was going to let you go without me?"

"What if you, Carlisle, Emmett, and Jasper all came?"

"I don't care if we have a hundred vampires go with us. The answer is still no. You're too important to me" he kissed the top of my head

"Then what are we going to do?"

"I don't know" he admitted

We were back at the big house discussing what we were going to do. I decided to take the kids outside to play. They didn't need to hear what was going on. Carlisle and Esme had put a swing set in the backyard and Abby loved it.

"Mommy push me!" Abby laughed

"Hold on, let me get him in his swing first"

"Does he like the swing?"

"I'm not sure" I laughed

I never really put him in a swing. We have one of those little baby ones from when Abby was born but they were always being held by someone that we never used it. I read that most babies like the swinging motion. I put him in the swing and he looked around curiously. He grabbed the chains in a death grip. When the swing started to move he gave out a panicked cry and reached out for me.

"It's okay honey" I soothed grabbing his hand

"I don't think he likes it" Abby said

"Me either"

His screams got louder and I quickly pulled him out of the swing. Abby just sat there, obviously confused as to why he didn't like the swing.

"Everything okay out there?" Edward asked sticking his head out the door

"Yeah, your son just doesn't approve of the swing" I laughed

"Mommy push me now" Abby yelled

"Okay love, I'm coming"

I placed Ryan on the grass and he crawled around the yard. Abby was kicking her legs excitedly waiting to be pushed. I gave her a little nudge and she laughed loudly.

"Higher mommy" she giggled

"Okay just hold on" I was scared of her flying off but even if she did I doubt she'd get hurt

All of a sudden Ryan started crying loudly again and before I could turn to see what was wrong, Edward came running out of the house followed by the rest of the family.

"Ryan, danger!" he yelled

Before I could comprehend what was happening Ryan's shield erupted around us. Edward grabbed Abby off the swing and the shield dropped briefly to let them in.

"Edward what's going on?"

Both kids were now crying and Edward held me behind him in a protective stance. The rest of the family filed in around us, blocking my view. Before he could answer I saw a shadow fly past us in the woods. It was too quick for my human eyes to catch but Edward tightened his grip on me.

"You're scaring me" my voice shook

"Vampire" he whispered

"Did Aro…?"

"Yes" he already knew my question

"Edward he's running back towards Volterra! I would try to circle around and catch him" Alice yelled

The boys took off and Edward ushered me back into the house. Ryan's shield dropped once the door shut behind us. Esme took Abby's hand and brought her into the living room, trying to be calm.

"But grandma I want to play in the swing"

"Daddy wants you to stay in here for now okay. There's a bad man running around the woods and we have to go get him" Edward told her

"Don't tell her that" I hissed

"I just want to keep her safe"

I sat Ryan on my lap and just watched my kids play. Esme and Rosalie were helping them build a tower out of blocks while Edward and Alice stood watch by the window. They were really irritating me- well Edward was- and I don't know why. I think my hormones were getting the best of me today. I slowly stood up and made my way into the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" Edward asked

"Kitchen, is that okay?"

"I'll go with you"

"I highly doubt this vampire Aro sent will burst into the kitchen that's right across the room to kidnap me"

He ignored me and still made a move towards the kitchen "Edward just give me some space!"

He really needed to back off sometimes. He didn't need to be by my side 24/7 especially when I'm heavily pregnant. I pulled out some goldfish and put them in a bowl for the kids. I looked out the window and saw the boys walking back from the woods and Emmett was dragging a scary looking man with him. It looked like they were bringing him towards the house. He must've sensed me because his eyes turned red as he tried to break free. Jasper had to help Emmett restrain him.

"Edward" I called out nervously "Are they coming in?

"It's okay" he wrapped his arms around me from behind "He won't get anywhere near you"

He led me away from the window and into the living room where he placed me on the couch. He gave me a hopeful look before going outside to meet them. I wandered over to the window where I could sort of hear the conversation.

"Mommy did they get the bad man?" Abby asked still coloring with Esme

"Yes they did" I wish he didn't tell her that

I felt Ryan pulling on my leg, wanting my attention. I easily picked him up and placed him on my lap, resting my face against his.

"Who sent you?" Edward asked getting in his face

"You know who" he hissed

"I want a name"

"The guard"

"Why?"

"To keep an eye on the Cullens. I was told to report back on the one that was with child"

"Report on what?" he continued

"I don't know. They didn't tell me anything" he pleaded "What is that smell? You have a human here?"

Edward growled loudly taking a step forward. Carlisle put a restraining hand on his chest.

"Oh she must be your human" he laughed "So that must be your child"

Edward growled loudly again causing me to jump. Carlisle whispered something to him and he seemed to calm down. The vampire looked up towards the window and flashed a quick smile at me. Edward immediately stood in front, blocking his view.

"Don't you dare look at her" he warned him "I want to know why they sent you"

"Look I already told you what I know"

This time Edward's expression softened as he took a step closer.

"Please… she is my everything. I'm begging you to tell me anything you know and I promise no harm will come to you"

"Well… I did overhear them saying that if I didn't bring back information or if you didn't go to Volterra then they would come here and forcefully deal with the situation"

I knew what that meant. If we didn't go there, they would come here and most likely take care of the problem. I gasped and my arms went protectively around my baby.

"Bella honey come away from there" Esme placed a motherly hand on my shoulder

"But I want to hear…"

"Why don't I make some lunch huh? How does turkey sandwiches sound?"

"Can I help grandma?" Abby asked

"I would love that" she smiled taking her hand

I joined Rosalie and Ryan on the floor where they were making towers out of blocks. I tried my best not to look nervous but it wasn't working. Ryan pushed himself up on his feet and wobbled over to me. I pulled him close and kissed the top of his head.

"It will be okay" she smiled at me

I gave a small smile back and picked up a block. I honestly just wanted to have this baby now so we would be out of danger for once. Would it kill the Aro just to let us live in peace. He knew I wanted to be changed eventually. It's not like I kept having babies on purpose. Wow, that sounded mean.

"Mommy block" Ryan called pulling me out my thoughts

I handed him my block and he placed it on top of his tower clapping his hands. I heard the door shut and the boys walk into the room.

"Can you guys come in here please?" Edward asked

"Sure"

I put Ryan down and Esme came in with Abby, placing the plate a finger sandwiches on the table. Rosalie helped me off the floor and we made our way into the living room. Everyone was sitting in a circle and looked really distraught. Edward's eyes met mine before he reached for my hand.

"What happened?" I asked

"The Volturi will come here eventually. I can't believe I'm actually saying this but it looks like we need to go there. There is no way in hell I will let them come here"

"Carlisle you think this is a good idea?" Rosalie asked

"I don't see a better option. The longer we wait the more tension it will build"

"I would be going?"

"Yes" he hesitated "As much as I hate it, you're the one they want to see. Carlisle, Jasper, Emmett, and I will obviously be with you the whole time. You will not leave me side at all and someone else will always be in front or in back of us…"

"Because that won't get annoying" I mumbled

"Isabella I will not argue with you on. What I say goes is that understood?" he said sternly

Wow! The full name, he really wasn't too keen on this idea of me going there. He ran his hand through his hair nervously.

"I'm sorry"

He scooted to sit next to me "Don't be. I just want to keep you safe"

"I'm always safe as long as I'm with you"
