Chapter 19: Internal battle yet again part 1
xxXXxx
All occupants never felt so confused in their lives—let alone be so embarrassed for this person who is supposed to be their mafia boss. Tsuna, Zero, and Hyper lived in one body but no one can determine who is who especially with just subtle changes in the eyes.
Tsuna… Zero… Hyper—Whatever. The brunet was sitting on one corner of the room and seemed to be the loneliest being of the world. The atmosphere was downright gloomy, everyone who got inside of his 5-meter radius felt like being sucked in by the gloomy aura.
"I was wondering… REALLY… Why can't we be so… I don't know… ONE." Tsuna muttered.
"Well, it's a matter of unity but…"
"I soooo don't like being with anyone's company!"
The atmosphere drastically dropped the moment Tsuna sighed in depression. He knows it was so stupid, and he knows that it also cannot be helped. But the way this situation was turning, it isn't going to be a good thing. Tsuna being himself was already bothersome but bringing his two sides to life made things more bothersome.
Tsuna looked up with dead gloomy eyes, "What will happen from now, I wonder~?"
In the background, Tsuna's guardians felt the depression their boss was emitting. They don't know whether to be depressed for him or be embarrassed.
"Say… Gokudera, how can we cheer him up?"
Gokudera looked at the side. His face had a mixture of concern and annoyance—mostly on the annoyance part, "I'll only cheer up the boss that I know, and not the other two."
Cue the sweat drop from Yamamoto, "I don't know how to react to that, Gokudera." He sheepishly smiled as he scratched the back of his head, "I mean, they are both Tsuna and all…"
The storm guardian snapped his head to the side. That baseball idiot was right in so many aspects.
"Hmph! Sawada can extremely handle it!" Ryohei, which was uncharacteristically normal-volumed, commented. "IF HE CAN'T THEN HE EXTREMELY ISN'T A MAN!" It was as if the whole platform was changed into a cliff scene with waves dramatically clashing against it.
Gokudera stared at Ryohei with annoyed eyes. He couldn't think of any appropriate comeback for the Sun guardian's words. It must be stress… He rubbed his head in soothing circles, "MUSCLE HEADS!"
"Hey!"
"OI!"
Gokudera just shook his head dejectedly.
Back with Tsuna.
"How did this even happen..?" Tsuna said to no one but himself. He looked at the window—which was seriously nothing but clouds. He held this enlightened face as he continued to stare at the window. "Actually, I know that you guys were drawn out by that wild fire… but to actually gain control over my body…"
"You ARE a special being after all…" Hyper replied, shifting his weight to the rest of his lower limbs. He scratched his head as if trying to understand something that he can't exactly put his finger on.
"In any case, I think I deserve to take over this body!" Zero folded his arms behind his head. He fell on the floor and stared on the ceiling for a good long time. "I AM the youngest after all…"
Tsuna snapped his body up and looked to the place where Zero was supposed to be, "I am the original owner you know!"
Then his body went back to the relaxed position, "I don't know… I mean, I DO deserve the spot though~~"
"Well, I say NO!"
"That's so mean! What happened to the nice dork that everyone knew?!"
"Don't you think you're being mean to me?!"
Zero grabbed Tsuna's hair then harshly tugged it, "I want to be on the spotlight too!"
Tsuna pinched Zero's cheek, "No is no! So Schtoph it!"
By then, Tsuna was already hurting himself.
In the background, the arcobalenos were concerned for Tsuna's well-being and sanity.
Fon looked in dismay at Tsuna's one-way argument with himself, "It's a good thing that we know his situation…" He suddenly sweat-dropped when Tsuna suddenly slapped himself. He looked at the sun arcobaleno, "I don't know who is who when it comes to him…" He had even more sweat-drops when Tsuna or whoever it was suddenly planted his face on the floor.
Reborn looked like he was enjoying Tsuna's self-torture. Anyone can tell by looking at the popcorn and drinks at hand. "I don't see any problem, Fon."
"I'm amazed by your sadism, Reborn-kun…" Fon sarcastically commented.
"In any case, that Sawada should know how to control them internally, kora!" Colonello added, sitting next to Reborn. "I propose a new training regimen for him!"
A large ball of fire suddenly flew their way. All except for Skull managed to dodge the fire.
"FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! STOP FIGHTING YOU TWO!" Hyper shouted… though he was also damaged by the fire. His flames were forcefully extinguished, "It was Zero's fault..!—You started it, DAME-SAWADA!"
Tsuna pinched himself again but this time on both sides, "I cawn't bewieve wee're THISCH unsynchronized!" He suddenly slammed his face against the wall, "STOP BEING THE BOSS OF US!"
"Ahhh..! Let's stop this already..!" Tsuna softly reprimanded, ignoring the bleeding nose he obtained from the face plant. "My body hurts and I'm getting more bruise compared to when Reborn trained me..!"
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Bullets flew to Tsuna's direction, "Hiieee—Oi!" The bullets were safely captured in Hyper's hand, "What's the meaning of that, Reborn?" Hyper sternly said. He let the bullets slip between his fingers to show that he caught all of Reborn's bullets, "I won't tolerate people who hurt Tsunayoshi."
Reborn tipped his fedora, "And I throw those words right back at you." The sun arcobaleno took a leap back and landed on a nearby sofa, "Anyways, I won't tolerate those who makes bruises on my student aside from me."
"WAIT! THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT?!"
"I'm the only one who could tortu—I mean, tutor my student."
"He said it! He finally said it!" Tsuna cried in a comical way as he looked at the spectators.
"Colonello, NOW!" Reborn commanded.
"You don't have to order me, kora!" Collonelo's falcon took him to the sky—not actually the sky but in the air… you get the point, "TRANQUILIZER SHOT!"
BANG!
The bullet instantly shot the unarmed Tsuna making him fall weak. The brunet became unconscious and unceremoniously met the ground.
"Tsuna!"
"Juudaime!"
Reborn shot the ground where Tsuna's two guardians were to step on. He gave a murderous look, "From this on forth, it's Tsuna's fight."
…
…
"Ugghh…" Tsuna groggily said as he sat up. He looked at his surroundings only to see nothingness. It was all white except for him and his shadow, "Where is this place..?"
Where is this place..?
Where is this place..?
This place…
Place… place… place… place…
Tsuna felt a sweat coming down his cheek. This place was creepy… especially since he was all alone. Hyper and Zero weren't even keeping him company. Speaking of the two, it seems as though he can't feel the presence of the two. Zero should've started to complain by now and Hyper was supposed to be trying to comfort him. How awkward for the brunet to think of things like that already when they've only materialized just a few hours ago.
Tsuna stood up, brushing off the dusts that accumulated on his clothes. "Ahhh..! What am I supposed to do now..?" He hesitantly said to himself. He looked side to side in hopes of seeing something familiar and not white.
As he took a step, grass grew on where he stepped, "HIIEEE! WHAT'S THIS—Oh. It's just grass…" He sighed in relief then headed to where ever his feet would take him.
He looked behind and only saw the trail of grass that he made. It was just that and nothing else. He still had no idea what to do so he kept moving forward.
…
Zero woke up with literally a bang.
He fell out of the bed—which was something he was still unaccustomed to. It was his first time to fell out of something, and the bed was the last thing he thought of falling out of. He looked at his hands…
Ice formed on the floor where his palms touched. It was weird especially since he never actually knew how to control it. He held the bed for support.
The bed turned into ice.
Sweat rolled down from his cheek, "What's happening..?" He muttered to himself. Zero experimented with the other things inside his room.
Everything that he touched turned into ice. He looked in sheer surprise, "What's going on..? This never happened before." An idea suddenly popped in his head, "Hey, Dame-Tsuna… Wha..?!" Zero stared at thin air… "I can't feel him..!"
Zero dashed out of the room in hopes of finding Tsuna and, regretfully, Hyper as well. The only thing he saw was yet another door similar to the one he opened just now. He ran to that door and opened it just to see that very same door just now.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance. He made a stern stand-up gesture with his hand, creating an icicle. He threw it to the door's direction.
That was when he realized…
It was an endless path of doors. He tried to take another route only to meet yet another door but this time with a different design. As he went inside that door, he saw a woman he knew as Dame-Tsuna's mother.
"A-ra… Tsu-kun you're up so early~!" She sweetly said. Despite that sweet voice was the sad expression in her eyes. It was something Zero couldn't comprehend. Why did she look so sad? Why did it feel so distant..?
"Just kidding…" Nana sourly said.
Huh?
"Tsu-kun can't possibly be awake…" She was in the verge of tears. Zero's eyes trailed to the gloves Nana was holding. Nana held those gloves dearly. She was shivering. Zero can feel that stabbing pain in her heart. It had a bad feel. Why was she on the verge of crying..?
I'm right here..!
No voice came out of him. He was shocked that he can't bring out his voice. He took timid steps toward this person.
It felt like he fell into an endless pit when he saw where she was looking at.
A picture of Tsuna decorated with flowers.
Zero fell weak on his knees.
We're dead..! I'm dead..! Why..?
"It should've been impossible, Tsu-kun!" Nana shouted at the picture. Tears endlessly ran down from her eyes, "Why were you covered in ice?!" Zero suddenly felt responsible. He clutched his head and feverishly shook it as he was unable to accept the fact.
It was my fault! He looked in dismay at the picture. How did that happen?!
He saw Nana cry her heart out but he couldn't even bring himself to cry.
"AAAAHH!" Zero shouted with full might. He wanted to cry so badly but none even dared to come out.
"Your father already left me! Why did you leave too?!" Nana added. More tears came out of Nana as she continued to cry, and that was the last straw.
Zero's vision blurred that instant and droplets fell on the floor. He slowly shook his head, "I'm so…" Zero closed his eyes ever so tightly and more tears fell. He sniffed and tried to hold back his tears,
"I'm so sorry..!"
…
…
Hyper on the other hand was flying in hopes of locating any of the two. He knows that there is ground but something was keeping him from landing. It was something he couldn't control. He was already tired from emitting flames just to keep himself in the air.
By all means, he actually doesn't know whether he was going to meet with either land or nothing. The purity of what he sees made him doubt his senses. "This is crazy…" He muttered to himself.
His eyes instantly saw the house covered in ice. "!" He flew to that house.
He landed on the house. It was freezing. He knew that it was Zero's doing written all over it, but something was wrong. He knew Zero was strong but he didn't imagine him to be this strong. He melted the ice surrounding the entrance door and helped himself in.
The moment his feet touched the ground, ice surrounded it. Hyper didn't have any choice but to exhaust himself further by floating in. "Zero! Where are you?! Answer me!"
He saw a door that had thicker ice compared to the others. He threw a ball of fire towards that door and entered the vicinity. "Oi! What's the meaning of this—!" Hyper was dumbfounded.
Zero's eyes were dead—much dead compared to last time. Frozen tears were evident on his features but there was something more striking other than his frozen tears.
It was the frozen Nana who looked like she crying her heart out.
Rage filled Hyper's system. He gripped Zero's collar and raised him up to his level, "What did you do?" He hissed.
Zero returned Hyper's gaze with a dead one. He slowly shook his head, his eyes shed ultimate guilt of his own actions. Tears rolled down only to materialize into hard ice, "I'd like to take responsibility of my actions…"
Ice crept up to Hyper's gloves, "Give me a clear answer, Zero."
Zero just shook his head then looked at the picture of Tsuna, "I'm at fault." Zero forced himself out of Hyper's grip. He brushed his fringes up but his face still looked down. Once more he shook his head, "I'm so sorry…"
