Just wanted to say that the author does not romanticise the idea of a manipulative/controlling relationship, as it is (subtly) shown in one of the sentences. People tend to misinterpret it as such, so the author hopes to clear this up. The author only ships RusAme when they are in a healthy and consensual relationship.
Chapter 3: 2 Sentence Stories
1. Russia gathered his last remaining breath and uttered those three simple words he's been meaning to say all these years.
Cold blue eyes stared back;
America was already dead.

2. He took his beloved scarf and left without a trace, unaware that he had also taken with him the lonely boy's heart in the process.
Another face and already forgotten name on the list.

4. Alfred was a warm, happy existence in his life, much like the lovely sunflowers he loved so much -
the ones he would leave on the young man's doorstep every week.
The ones he left on his side before they lowered his casket to the ground.

5. "One day, when I recover, we'll go and eat at that ice cream store that just opened, okay!" - sent one year ago.

6. "Come home," he whispers against platinum hair.
The heart monitor beeps.

7. "Dude - bae - listen to me! I love you and all but... please don't give me your literal heart-"

8. America glances at his surroundings before subtly sliding over a small white envelope. Russia smirks, a dark gleam in his eyes;
finally, his fresh new memes have arrived.

9. "Go to hell, commie bastard," Alfred mutters.
"Only if you go with me, capitalist pig," Ivan replies, smiling as the younger nation's lips meet his.

10. Alfred wakes up in a bed that is not his own, turns to his side - good God his head is hurting like a bitch - and recognises that oh-so familiar scarf and silver hair.
When Ivan woke up, he was greeted by the sight of a crying, half-naked American kneeling on the floor and praying for forgiveness.
