Sorry I write slow guys. It's just I can't pour all of my attention into my stories all of the time y'know?

I splashed water into my face and sighed. I patted my face dry and stared at my reflection in the mirror, gripping the sink. First time seeing Marshall in a little while and the last time we had sex. I don't know if I should be giddy or awkward when I see him.

I was waiting for Gumball to show up at my place, so we could walk over to LSP's house together. He texted me he'd be an hour or so late, but I had no problem with that. These last couple of days have been weird enough without Marshall. I could use for a little extra prep time.

Making faces in the mirror, I thought about what Bonni said before she got off the bus today. I hated her smug little suspicious face when she looked me square in the eyes and said, "Look out for Marshall at the party, 'kay?" She turned and skipped cheerfully off the bus, stopping in front of her house to wave at the bus as it left her behind. What was that supposed to mean? I knew Marshall could get a little crazy with parties sometimes, but I doubt I'll need to 'look out' for him.

Then again, he has sort of changed since he'd gotten closer to Bonnibel. She probably get's invited to everything, and she probably takes Marshall with her. He could have some whole other wild side I don't even know about.

Plus, he hasn't exactly trusted me with his deepest darkest secrets since I've been hanging out with Gumball. I think I've lost a little of his trust. So if he was invited to any wild parties, it's not like he would have told me. If he got completely wasted and went to jail he'd tell me right?

Okay, you are way over thinking things. He'll probably just over do it with the alcohol and I'll walk him home or something.

I patted my cheek a little roughly as a miniature slap to myself. Pull yourself together! You are Fionna Humane! You are the baddest bitch in the whole place and you will look fucking great in your new suit! That is not flab! Those are glorious curves that skinny bitches ain't go-

The doorbell rang. Gumball's here.

I straightened my cut up muscle shirt and walked out of the bathroom. I grabbed my phone and ran downstairs as I shoved it into my back pocket. I slipped on my flip flops and pulled the front door open.

"Hey!" I said, an excited smile on my face. "Nice trunks, beach babe."

"Hey, Fi," Gumball said, chuckling, "Do you have a water bottle I can bring? I forgot to get one from my house," He said, pointing towards my kitchen. I backed away from him with a raised eyebrow to let him in.

"Uh, yeah. Why would you need a water bottle? There's probably drinks there, Bubba, you silly," I teased, following him into the kitchen after I closed the door after him.

He opened the fridge and bent down to get them off the door shelf. "That's exactly my point, Fionna."

"What?"

"Lily Sue Peters is a Senior. She's throwing a wild pool party. You don't think the drinks there will be a little suspicious?" Gumball asked, pulling two bottles from the shelf and handing one to me. "Here."

"Oh... I didn't even think about that," I said, turning towards the door to lead the way out the door. "Thanks."

"Yeah. You better stick around me and Marcy for most of the party, Fi. The youngest people there are probably gonna be you, Marshall, Cake, and Manny. You can meet some of my friends!" Gumball said, a little excited as he shut the door behind us and we started making our way down the street.

My lips tugged upwards at his childish excitement as we passed his car in my drive way and started walking down the street. "Okay, Gumball. I'll get to you when things get a little too crazy how about that?" I suggested.

"How about you check in with me like every thirty minutes?"

"No way, Mom!"

"I'm just worried about my baby girl!" Gumball joked as he pulled me into his arms, giving me a noogie. I pushed him away, running my hands through my hair.

"Stop! You're such a dumby!"

"A dumby? That's your best insult?" Gumball laughed. I blushed, fixing my hair. "Hi, I'm Fionna. Welcome back to third grade!" Gumball teased, making a silly face. I pushed him, and he tripped over his feet, almost falling over before catching himself. He sneered at me and pushed me back lightly, though it still caused me to wobble.

"Car!" Gumball shouted, grabbing my hand and pulling me to him quickly. My face crashed into his chest before I pushed him into the sidewalk. "Geez, you're welcome! I just saved your life!"

"No you didn't the car was like ten feet away from me!"

"You're so lucky I'm around, Fionna..." Gumball started, ignoring me. I chuckled, rolling my eyes. We made our way up the porch steps when we stopped. There was a sign on the front door that read 'the door is open'

Gumball turned to me and shrugged his shoulders. He opened the door and let me enter before him. Gumball led the way downstairs where he opened a door at the bottom of them. I could hear people shouting and splashing in the pool and the knot in my stomach got tighter.

"Fionna!" I heard Cake scream. She tackled me before I had time to see her. Thankfully she was dry. "Hey, Gumball," Cake said, booty-bumping him.

"Hey, Cake," I said, chuckling. Gumball nodded his head at me as he walked away. I smiled at him as I watched him reunite with Marcy and some other people I didn't know, who were obviously way older than me.

"Hey, Marshall's been waiting for y- Hold on. Take off your shorts," Cake commanded with a stern look.

"Wha-what? No!"

"Please! I've been surrounded by guys this whole time and they've been staring at my butt like this whole time. Plus, you have the greatest legs I've ever seen. You won't be alone..." Cake said, gesturing to her current outfit. She was wearing a loose crop top with her bikini underneath, no shorts.

"My phone's in my shorts," I said.

"Oh ya, so is mine. But I stashed them somewhere, you can keep your's with mine, c'mon." Cake grabbed my hand and led me through the slide doors of LSP's basement. I slipped off my shorts off and Cake threw them into a little cupboard in the corner of a room. I'll have to remember this place.

"Alright! Time fo' yo' reunion with Marshall Lee!" Cake cheered, clapping her hands together. She pushed me out the doors onto the patio.

"Fionna!" Marshall cried, sitting on the edge of the pool with his legs dipped in. He was surrounded by Juniors and they all looked at each other inquisitively. He waved his hand over, gesturing for me to walk over to him. I looked over at Cake and she was holding hands with Manny, she wasn't coming with me. She twitched her eyebrows up and down suggestively, smiling deviously. My lips lifted into a smile as I started to make my way over to him.

I watched Marshall's back muscles flex as he fist bumped his friends before getting out of the pool and running over to me. "Fi!" He cried, causing everyone to look at us. He grabbed my hips, pulling them to his and capturing my lips in a passionate kiss. I couldn't help but smile as I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly. I heard everyone 'oooh' as we kissed. I could already feel my face heating up. Marshall wasn't done yet. He grabbed on of my legs and wrapped it around his waist as he dipped me. Now the Junior boys in the pool that were talking to Marshall barking and cheering.

He finally straightened up and let go of me. I pecked his lips one more time before hugging him and laughing, my face probably as bright as a tomato. "It's good to see you," Marshall whispered into my ear.

"Hey, Marshy! I got a picture!" I heard someone yell. He let go of me and looked at the girl who said that. It was a girl standing next to Bonni.

"Really? Lemme see!" Marshall called, pulling me along behind him, I just laughed the whole time.

A few hours into the party, Marshall left me a little while ago to go dance or swim or whatever it was he was doing. At least an hour into the party I was finished with swimming and had retrieved my clothes and my phone from the secret stash. I walked over to Gumball who was talking with some of his friends inside the house. His water bottle was still mostly full.

"How did you not finish that already?" I asked, walking up to him and showing him my empty bottle. He let out a little chuckle and shrugged. He threw an arm around me.

"I don't know, I haven't really drunken it! Oh glob I said drunken it..." Gumball said, face-palming.

"Did you drink something?" I asked, smirking at him. His friends looked at him, chuckling before leaving us to talk.

"Yeah, but it was only one cup, damn. I shouldn't drink anything else besides this water from now on. I have to drive home," Gumball said, taking in a deep breath. "So... where's Marshall at?" Gumball asked, looking around.

"Probably swimming or something," I said, taking his water bottle and taking a sip from it. "Gumball this water tastes... different..." I said, wiggling my nose. "Maybe your weird state of mind is because of this water."

"Ah, fuck. Fionna I need a new water bottle..." Gumball said, waving his water bottle in front of my face. I laughed, rolling my eyes. I took his water bottle from him and put it on a nearby table.

"C'mon, you big baby. There's a cooler over by the pool," I said. I threw my empty bottle away. I led the way through the slide doors and outside. Some Senior girl decided it was a good idea to start skinny dipping. I widened my eyes and kept my eyes strictly on the table of snacks and the coolers under them.

"So, you haven't even had one beer this whole time?" Gumball asked, leaning on the table above the cooler I was looking through. I shrugged. "What you said kind of got me paranoid," I replied, looking through a different cooler. Finally a water bottle! "Here," I said, handing it to Gumball.

"Thanks. But, uh, sorry for scaring you. I didn't mean to not drink anything at all. It's just better if you brought a water bottle," Gumball said, opening it and taking a huge gulp from it.

"Are you encouraging underage drinking, Bubba Gumball? Honors student, Bubba Gumball?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "I'm trying to be a good kid, surrounded by bad ones and you of all people are trying to get me to drink?" I smirked, crossing my arms. Gumball gave out a little chuckle before reaching down and grabbing a beer bottle.

"Here," Gumball said, shrugging. I took it, still smiling.

"Well if an honors student says drink, I think Imma drink!" I laughed, popping it open.

"You've gone swimming yet?" Gumball asked as I joined him in leaning against the snack table.

"Yeah, not anymore though. They're practically having sex in there," I commented, watching the swimmers get a little too handsie. "How about you?" I took a swig of the beer.

Gumball raised an eyebrow, gesturing to his wet torso and dripping trunks. "Does it look like I've been standing around this whole time?" He teased. I snickered, shaking my head. "Sorry," I said.

"Did you dance?" Gumball asked, gesturing to the group of dancing kids inside.

"You were there, dumby," I said nudging him with my elbow.

"Oh, yeah," Gumball said, chuckling. "Did you have a good time?"

"Yeah, this was great!" I cheered, thrusting the hand that was holding the beer bottle into the air.

"Well then, I think my job here is done!" Gumball got up and took another quick drink of his water bottle before setting it down on the table.

"What do you mean?" I asked, following him towards the door to the stairs. We crossed the room and reached the door.

Gumball chuckled turning his head to me as he opened the door to the stairs, opening his mouth to explain to me.

Whatever he said next was completely incomprehensible as I witnessed the scene playing out in front of me. I barely felt my face drop and my eyes widen. I stood in utter shock, my mouth agape.

Gumball cut short what he was saying to look in the direction of my eyes, gluing him to the spot as well.

Marshall was pressed flat against the wall by Bonnibel, who was unabashedly running her hands below his trunks waist band and kissing him roughly. His loud moans and hands in her hair didn't fly passed me either.

"M-Marshall?" I managed to say after I was able to compose myself again. At the sound of my voice Marshall's eyes snapped open and darted to my direction. He pushed Bonnibel off of him and, wiping his mouth, turned to me.

"Fionna..." Gumball mumbled, about to pull me away from Marshall, but I pushed him away.

"Marshall! What the fuck?" I shouted. I felt the blood rush to my face from pure rage. I glanced at Bonnibel, expressionlessly fixing her triangle bikini behind Marshall.

"Fionna, I-I... I- uh..." Marshall tried to say, opening and closing his mouth with wide eyes like a fish out of water.

"Bonnibel...?" I asked, trying to calm myself down for an explanation. I stood in silence, looking from one person to another. Bubbling emotion rose from my throat as a pathetic whimper escaped my lips. I saw Marshall's eyes soften in sadness. "Wha- What the fuck..." I mumbled again, my voice cracking.

"Fi, I'm so sorry, baby-" Marshall began, taking a step towards me. I put my hands up to stop him, tears gathering in my eyes.

"You're not even drunk..." I mumbled.

"What?" Marshall asked in confusion.

"... so you did this on purpose," I said a little louder. I felt my heart completely shatter and fall into the pit of my stomach.

"No, Fionna," Marshall said, trying to get closer to me.

"Marshall what you did is done," Gumball spoke up, squeezing through the doorway and pushing Marshall back. Marshall glared at Gumball.

"Please... Just let me go home..." I said, pushing passed Marshall and running up the stairs and holding the tears back as much as I could. I knew if I started crying now, I wouldn't be able to stop. I rushed through the front door and into the night, quickly walking down the street in the direction of my house. I heard the front door open and shut behind me soon after I had made my down the sidewalk. I heard loud footsteps marching down to catch up with me.

I looked up, seeing Gumball looking down at me with soft, sympathetic eyes. He placed his hands on my shoulders, one hand held his shirt, stopping me. I took a deep, shaky breath, looking anywhere but his eyes. Without words, Gumball pulled me in close to his chest, wrapping his arms around me. The warm embrace triggered my tears and I swatted at them in frustration.

"Fionna!" I heard Marshall yell as LSP's front door slammed shut. I wiped my eyes and sniffled, not bothering to look back at him and continued walking. Gumball walked around me back towards Marshall.

"Look, man, just leave her alone," I heard Gumball say, though it was slightly muffled by the distance I was putting between us as I was quickly making my way down the road.

"Just let me talk to my girlfriend, you worthless piece of shit," Marshall said. At this I turned around to see Gumball standing as a wall between me and Marshall, who stood about thirty feet away from me. People from the party began emerging from the house to watch the commotion.

"Hey, she just wants to go home. Talk to her tomorrow, okay?" Gumball began walking away from Marshall, who nodded. "Good." Gumball started walking back towards me when Marshall mumbled something so quiet only Gumball heard it. Whatever it was, it was enough to cause Gumball to spin back around and punch Marshall square in the face. The bystanders 'ooh'd'.

Marshall stumbled back, holding his jaw, but not reacting. Gumball leaned in close and muttered something back at him before returning to me with a clenched jaw.

"What?" Gumball scowled down at me. I widened my eyes and shook my head. "Nothing..." I replied softly. Gumball took in a deep breath before putting his shirt back on.

"I'm sorry about that," Gumball said after a moment of silence.

"About what?"

"Punching Marshall..."

"I-It's okay," I whimpered way more pathetically than I hoped it would. I swallowed and sniffled, holding myself.

"Hey, hey, hey," Gumball said softly, wrapping an arm around me. "You'll be okay. It's all over now..."

"Is it, Gumball?"

"Well you are going to break up with him, aren't you?"

At the realization of having to break it off with Marshall made my broken heart hurt more, and my breathing became more intense. I felt the new hot tears reaching my eyes, and I couldn't hold them back.

"Oh, gee. Sorry, for uh, sorry for bringing that up, too..." Gumball said nervously, squeezing me a little.

"You're fine... I really just wanna go home, though..." I said, after I could breath properly. We walked the rest of the way to my house in silence, Gumball never taking his arm from me. He walked me all the way to my front door and opened it for me.

"Do you want to me to stay? I can stay longer," Gumball offered. I bit my lip, looking down at my feet.

"Uhm... yeah. Yeah, c'mon," I said. His eyes softened up and a smile crossed his lips. I took a step back to let him in and walked through the threshold silently. I closed the door behind him and he led the way to my bedroom. Halfway up the stairs he turned to look behind himself at me with a concerned look.

"Are you okay, Fi?" He asked. I sniffled.

"I don't know," I replied as we reached the top of the stairs. "I'm tough, though, right?" I forced a laugh, but Gumball didn't even smile. He opened my bedroom door, walking straight to my desk chair and sitting down. I kicked off my shoes and crawled onto my bed. I took a pillow and placed it in my lap as I crossed my legs.

"Are you okay, Fionna?" Gumball asked again, sternly. I looked into his deep blue eyes that looked back at me firmly. I swallowed.

"I don't know. Probably?" My voice cracked. Fuck. Here comes the waterfall.

"Oh, Fi, don't cry!" Gumball said, coming to me immediately. He wrapped his arms around me, and I shoved the pillow in my face.

"Ugh!" I cried. I fell back onto my bed, keeping the pillow there.

"He's not worth getting worked up about, right?" Gumball asked, crossing his legs on my bed.

"I don't know," I said, moving the pillow down to my chest. "I think he is."

"You were only dating for two weeks."

"Yeah, but we've been best friends for two years."

"Oh."

"I've liked him the entire time! And then we kissed and he told me that he basically like me the whole time, too..."

"...oh..."

"Yeah, oh. I think the worst part was that he wasn't even drunk. I saw him. He was... He was doing that on purpose." I turned on my side and faced Gumball. "I just... I really like him."

"Oh. Then I guess I'm sorry I punched him?" Gumball tried. I chuckled.

"No, I think he deserved that. I probably would've punched eventually anyways, so thanks for saving me the trouble."

Gumball gave out a short laugh.

"Y'know anyone would be lucky to have you. I don't why that idiot even decided to cheat. And with Bonnibel?"

"I know, right!" I said sitting up and accidentally throwing the pillow at Gumball.

"Hey!" He shouted, throwing the pillow back at me.

"That was an accident!" I said taking another pillow, "This was on purpose!" I shouted as I hit the pillow against his head.

"Ow..." Gumball said, holding his head in his hands.

"Oh, dude. You okay?" I asked, crawling closer to him.

"Ya, I'm fine... But you won't be!" He shouted before grabbing my torso and twisting us so he was straddling me. Before I could fight back he started tickling me.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" I cried, laughing.

"What's the magic word?" He said, laughing too.

"Please! Please!"

"Nope! That's not it!" He started squeezing my sides and I squealed. I tried pushing his hands off.

"Gumball!"

"Fionna!"

We were suddenly quiet when we heard a loud knocking on the door. My eyes widened and I covered my mouth.

"Get off! Get off!" I whisper-shouted. He scrambled off of me and put his shoes on quickly sitting in my swivel chair. I opened the door and blushed when I saw my tired mother standing at the door. She looked past me and saw Gumball awkwardly sitting in the chair. She smiled politely, though it was obvious she was agitated.

"Hi, Gumball. Good to see you," She said.

"Uhm, hi, Mrs. Humane. Sorry to keep you up."

"Oh, it's okay. It's okay. It's just so late, I think your parents would be worried if you didn't go home soon. It's one in the morning..." She said, her tone getting harsher with every word.

"Uh, yes! You're absolutely right. I'm sorry, I should be going home now," Gumball said, getting up quickly. She stepped back to let him pass her as she smiled.

"Wait, Gumball! I'll walk you out!" I shouted as I glared at her. She turned back around and headed back to her room.

I rushed down the stairs just as Gumball was reaching the door.

"I'm sorry about my mom," I joked.

"It's okay it's just... she kinda scares me."

"Yeah me, too..." I said. "Text me when you get home. Or tomorrow if you're too tired by then."

"Heh, I will," Gumball replied as he opened the door.

"And be careful!"

"Geez, Fionna, I'll be fine!" Gumball said, taking a step down the threshold.

"Oh, wait!" I grabbed his hand and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you... for staying I mean. I feel better with you around."

Gumball stared back at me, his eyes wide.

"I-I'm sorry if that was weird..." I said, suddenly realizing what I did and blushing intensely. He blinked quickly.

"No, that was- You're fine, you're fine. And uh- um n-no problem! It was no problem, Fi. I would stay for as long as you need me."

"Ya... You're can let go of my hand now." I said, still blushing.

"Oh, ya. Sorry! Uhm... Bye, Fi." Gumball quickly let go and spun around, walking quickly to his car.
