The Hub/No POV
It was a regular afternoon in the Hub. The usual check-up on the cars, the music from Stanford's boom box spread throughout the underground headquarters. It was unusually quiet this afternoon with everyone in their own corners doing their own things. Tezz was in his room, laying across the sofa in his room nonchalantly. He flipped through the TV channels, completely bored out of his mind. Sure he can calibrate his electromagnetic glove but he did that yesterday. He can upgrade his car's engine, but he did that earlier that day. He can work on a new invention, but he was coming up blank. He could go to the others and correct them and mock their low intelligence levels but even that gets old. He sighed heavily while his finger continued to go down on the up arrow. Channel 189 passed and Tezz faintly thought that it was the second time he's passed that channel. Almost 300 channels and nothing to watch. He could Internet surf, or watch a movie, but Internet surfing gets old and boring and all the movies have already been watched tenfold. The news channels came rolling around and his eyes catch a glimpse of the Talent building nearby. His finger moves to the down button and he backtracks to the channel. That Shannon or Sharon or whatever was on again. She stood before the building yapping away about the upcoming opening and the absence of Camellia's parents. He was about to change the channel when Camellia walked into the camera's view. "Here with me now is the famed Camellia Talent. Tell me Camellia, how do you feel about leading the grand opening by yourself."
"It's Miss Talent to you Ms. Heart." Camellia said before she answered the question. "And I'm not worried at all if that's what you're trying to get from me. And I'm not even alone. I have my assistants and the employees to help."
"I see." Sharon nodded before asking her next question. "The opening of the New Mexico facility is all over the news. How do you feel about the publicity?"
"I really think that the publicity is great for Talent Technology but I would appreciate a lower amount of it."
"And may I ask why?"
"Well I have a lot of things I need to achieve before the opening and this constant shadowing is really proving difficult to accomplish the tasks."
"Oh, I see. So I suppose Talent Tech is going to release more cool gizmos correct?"
"That is correct."
"And what about this new car people have been hearing about? The Hydro-solar electric car?"
"There will be an unveiling at the opening."
"Oh. Can't wait."
"Neither can I."
"Well I will let you go… Miss Talent."
"Thank you Ms. Heart."
"No. Thank you." Sharon turned her head and smiled greatly as the camera zoomed in slowly on her. "This has been Sharon Heart with Camellia Talent reporting live. Now back to the studio with weather back home."
Tezz changed the channel immediately and thought why anything Talent was really interesting to him. He suspected it was the technology or the coverage of the company in almost every news station across the globe. His thoughts were interrupted by the alarm that signed a Storm Shock opening. He shut off the TV and jumped up from the sofa. He quickly changed into his suit and ran towards the command center. Upon reaching it he saw Vert and Sage just staring to give a briefing. "The Reds are on it again gang." Vert said.
"Yes. It seems they are in a Battle Zone with an abundance of water." Sage added.
"That is strange is it not?" Tezz questioned. When he received blank looks he mentally sighed. "The Red Sentients fight with fire, it is strange that they go to a Battle Zone with water."
The little light bulb flashed in the others' head and Vert took over once more. "There must be some Blue Sentient ruin or information in that particular Zone." He looked at Sage.
"Hm. It is a possibility. At one time my kind did live there."
"Right." Agura said as she joined one fist to her open hand. "We better get going before time runs out."
Sage nodded. "Hurry and find out what my brother is doing there." She looked at Tezz and AJ. "You two will stay here for the time being."
AJ groaned and sat down on the floor in childish aggravation. "Great. On the sidelines again." Tezz only nodded and watched as the others zoomed off to fight. He looked down at AJ who in turned looked up. "What?"
"I advise you stand and help me help the others."
"Yeah. Whatever." AJ stood and moved to his spot as terrain watcher (making sure the stability of a Battle Zone is all right). Tezz moved to his spot as watcher and supervisor (in a way).
Meanwhile the others reached the Storm Shock and entered. Within short seconds they were in a far away alien world. The portal was stationed atop the only mountain for miles with the land below being near swamplands except there were no real signs of plant life anywhere. "This looks like a bogged beach." Stanford stated as he suppressed the strong urge to stop and chill in the sun.
"This terrain could work in our favor." Sherman said as he looked around. "But it could also slow us down." The vehicles bobbed up and down as they rode over small hills and splashed into water. Surprisingly there was nowhere that the water levels were deep, it was all shallow.
"Who would want to live here?" Zoom asked.
"That's the thing Zoom." Agura said. "I don't think anything lives here. Even with the large amount of water."
"Keep a look out guys." Vert intervened. "Whatever reason Krytus is here, it can't be a good one."
"At least here no one can have an advantage." Spinner added numbly as the BF5 continued their search.
Meanwhile the Red Sentients zoomed forward to a specific location. Kyburi groaned as the Venikus lurched and her head snapped forward. "Krytus, for what reason have you brought us to this aggravating Battle Zone?"
"You will soon see Kyburi." Krytus chuckled to himself and thought about his secret plan. "You will soon see." He was of course in the front leading his gang towards a temple the Blue Sentients built a long time ago. There in that temple there is supposed to be some sort of information carrier holding the instructions on how to destroy whole Battle Zones using Sentient power, Blue or Red. Kyburi was beside herself. Whatever plan Krytus was planning has to have some importance or else he would have never brought at least two dozen Sark with them. She looked behind to see the Sark following obediently. She slowly shook her head as she looked forward again. What are you planning Krytus?
Back at the Hub Tezz picked up Red movement and transmitted the coordinates to BF5. "I have detected movement not far ahead of you. There also seems to be some sort of structure seems to be the main objective for the Red Sentients."
"Thanks Tezz." Vert thanked through the communications link. "Report to us if anything has changed."
"Yes sir." Tezz grumbled out.
AJ showed up behind him from out of nowhere and looked onto the screen. "Getting bored too eh?"
Tezz looked once at AJ before redirecting his attention back to the screen. "Just a tad."
"Yeah, I just wish we were more useful and all. I mean I know they're the originals but there must be more than just sitting out on the sidelines with an occasional mission."
Before Tezz could speak Sage came up to the two male humans. "But you are important. You may not go on as much missions as the others, but you are a part of this team and even though it seems your objectives in this team are not as important, it is and it will always remain so."
"Thanks Sage." AJ smiled at her. "I guess you're right." He walked back over to his station while Tezz stayed at his. He didn't mind the lack of work he was required to do. He only wishes that there was something else to do, someone else to talk to. In his mind flashed Camellia and he shook the image away. He needed to keep a lookout, not think endlessly on Miss Talent.
Back in the Battle Zone the Reds stopped before the temple. It was a modest temple, not too big or too small. Blue Sentient statures took the front corners of the temple and gave it its regal looks. Krytus scoffed softly. "Sark, remain out here and guard the entrance. I suspect that the Battle Force 5 will soon be here. The rest of you will follow me." The vehicles move forward into the temple while the Sark turn their vehicles around to watch for the oncoming enemies.
The BF5 slowed tremendously when they saw the Sark protecting the temple. They eventually stopped a ways away and message Sage. "Sage," Vert started, "what is that?"
The hologram of Sage appeared before the drivers. "It appears to be a temple of worship and protection."
"So it's where the Blues went to feel safe?" Zoom asked.
"No. It was built to protect an object holding the instructions to destroy whole worlds." Sage answered.
"What?" The BF5 remarked.
"This isn't good mates." Stanford said. "Krytus must want it to strike fear into those who live in the Multiverse."
"We can't let him have it." Vert said with determination to keep the object away from Krytus. "Battle Force 5, let's go!" He ordered before the vehicles rumbled forward.
"I have a question still Sage." Spinner stated.
"What is your question Spinner?" The Blue Sentient asked.
"What exactly is this object?"
"There were many stories about what it could have been, but it is one of the best kept secrets within my race."
"Ah. So we're looking for anything at all." Stanford remarked. "Great."
The Sark saw the incoming enemies and they all rushed out forward to attack. "Sark approaching." Agura stated. Battle Force 5 got into fighting positions. The Saber spit apart revealing the blade and it cut through the horde of Sark. The Buster released its wrecking ball and pounded the Sark as the Tangler pounded its way through. The Reverb blasted sound waves through, knocking Sark vehicles over while the Chopper sped past the Sark and lured them into each other. "There's too many of them!" Agura stated as they continued fighting.
"And we can't spend all of our time fighting these Sark." Vert said. He thought of a plan then. "Guys, Zoom and I will go in and recon and see if we can't prevent the Reds from finding out whatever the thing is." He paused slightly thinking about that sentence. How will they know what it is? They don't even know what it is! "You three stay out here and see what you can do with these Sark."
"Yes, go and recon while you leave us with the hard work." Stanford complained.
"Go ahead Vert and Zoom." Sherman said. "We'll hold them off."
Vert nodded absently and the Saber and Chopper rode towards the temple. "Get behind me Zoom."
"All right." Zoom then moved the Chopper behind while the Saber cleared a path straight to the temple. Once the path was cleared the Chopper moved back to the side of the Saber and the two vehicles disappeared into the darkness of the temple.
Inside the temple the Red Sentients vehicles disappeared as they inspected the only room (more like hall) of the building. It was a huge hall, with columns running down the length, some broken, some completely missing and some still intact. The whole place was made out of gray stone that was slowly starting to decay away. There were some stone statuettes placed at the entrance of the chamber and at the corners and dotted throughout the center of the room. "What is this?" Kyrosys asked with hinting anger. "There is nothing here!"
"Quiet Kyrosys." Krytus ordered. "It is hidden amongst the stone."
"How do you know that?" Krylox asked.
Krytus looked back at the Sentient. "Dare question me Krylox?"
Krylox thought about it and shook his head. "No sir."
Krytus half scoffed half groaned at him. "Spread out and look for it."
The RS5 spread out and searched the area of the hall. Krylox even split apart for the needed extra pair of eyes. Kryten stopped and softly growled. "What it look like?" He asked, his growling frustration growing and making his speaking more difficult.
Krytus stopped. He didn't even know what the thing looked like either. There have been rumors that it's a vehicle, some sort of computer, at one time it was thought of to be an actual being. Krytus growled to himself. He didn't want to seem like an idiot for not knowing what they are even looking for but what else can he say? "Just look around." He said almost cautiously for he was still thinking about what to say. "When you find it you'll know."
Kryten growled softly and continued looking. Kyburi walked over to Krytus as he started to look again. "You do know what we are looking for right?" She knew it was stupid to ask. The air around him was starting to get laden with frustration and anger. His answer surprised her.
"All I know is that I can use it to rule over the Multiverse." He answered quietly. "There have been so many rumors about it and it was kept a secret so well that not just anyone could go to protect it and no one outside of the temple knew how it really looks." He stood looking down at the ceiling rubble he was searching through though he doubted it was in there.
Kyburi was once again beside herself. A mission looking for something not one being know how it looks like? She was wondering if fighting this war with the humans was starting to effect him and wear him down to nothing. She worried for him though she will never let it show. She scoffed and slipped back into her normal self, cruel, short-tempered Kyburi. "Great mission Krytus." She said sarcastically as she moved away from him before things got worse.
Meanwhile Vert and Zoom stopped right before they got into the entrance. Vert reckoned while Zoom kept watch. "Looks like they don't even know what they're looking for as well." He commented.
"Sure looks like it." Zoom agreed. "Though I have a feeling…"
Vert looked at the youngest member of BF5. "And that is?"
"I don't know. I just feel that if I was a Blue back in the day guarding something as dangerous as this whatever-it-is, I would always keep it close and when the Blue got all shut down and all, I would have made sure my body never e=left the temple, the place where it's supposed to stay in."
"But Quardian was ordered to retrieve all the shells and hide them." Vert reminded. "He wouldn't leave just one out."
"Or would he?" Zoom challenged. Vert remained quiet. "There could have been an exception."
Suddenly Tezz's voice came on. "I agree with Zoom. There may have very well been an exception. And I agree with the proposition of keeping the object close. Sage, AJ, and I have been researching more on this object and we've come to believe it is actually an amulet of some sorts."
"An amulet?" The two asked as they looked at each other.
AJ came on next. "Yeah. Think about it like a flash drive around your neck holding the instructions to the end of the world." There was a small second of silence before AJ cut off Vert. "Hell. That's be a kick-ass movie!"
Zoom grinned and agreed with AJ as Vert shook his head but too smiled. "Focus guys. So you say it's an amulet?"
Sage finally came on and gave them the information they have discovered. "In the inscriptions in old texts it was called the Abolition Instruction and it was described to be a five pointed star draped around the highest sky."
"Five pointed star draped around the highest sky?" Zoom repeated. "Which translates to…?"
"A necklace around the main protector with the stone being pentagon shaped." Vert softly told himself. "But where is it now?"
"That is the question." Tezz said. "It disappeared and was never thought of again until now. If I could hypothesis I would say that when the main protector shut down he or she was placed in a safe tomb-like chamber within the temple."
"But there's only one room here." Zoom stated.
"Is there?" Tezz challenged.
Vert scanned the hall and his eyes fell upon the center of the wall directly before them. There was a soft indentation in the shape of a pentagon and big enough to fit even three Busters in through. "There isn't. It's right in there."
Cliffhanger! Aren't I so mean? Anyways, please review. Next chapter figure out if the bF5 or the RS5 take home the prize, the Abolition Instruction. Peace.
