AN: Wow, sorry for making you guys wait again, but I have some great news! I've been accepted to work with another airline, but with that comes tons and tons of paperwork, all whilst still working! Sorry that this has been put on the back burner, but here's more, finally!

I'd like to take a moment to think about the passengers and crew on MH370. As a flight attendant, it's not been far from my mind since the horrible news broke. Hopefully soon there will be some answers.

Enjoy, guys!

Chapter 13

"All I'm saying is that you've got a bedroom for a reason. A really good bedroom, with a door and a separate bathroom, giving you plenty of room to make out with your topless girlfriend!"

Callie nodded, entirely embarrassed by what Cristina had just walked in on. Thankfully, she'd arrived home early and hadn't seen as much as she could have. Still, the cardio-hungry surgeon was grossed out nonetheless.

"I'm going back to work. I need to have my hands inside a body to cleanse what I just saw." She shuddered, picking her bag up from the floor and disappearing, leaving Callie to lock the door behind her.

Moments later, Arizona peeked out from Callie's bedroom.
"She left…?"

Callie nodded, pouting when she noticed that Arizona had opted to put a shirt on. She was happy that it was at least one of hers.

"That's not exactly how I wanted to meet your roommate. I think we freaked her out."

Callie chuckled, quickly erasing any distance between herself and the blonde.
"She'll be fine. For someone who has a lot of sex, she's pretty prudish about seeing other people doing stuff."

Arizona looked almost relieved as she played with a lock of Callie's hair.
"So she won't mention this ever again?"

"Oh no, she most certainly will. Probably in public." Callie grimaced before planting a kiss on Arizona's forehead.

"Kill me now." She muttered.

"No way." Callie contested, running her hands over Arizona's waist. She came to a deliberate stop at the hem of the flight attendant's dark lace panties.
"You won't want to miss what I have in store for you tonight…"

"You have got to be kidding me." Arizona grumbled, clicking the refresh button on the computer screen in the hopes that the information in front of her would change.

It didn't.

She was at the crew headquarters at SeaTac, preparing for a quick, one night over in Toronto. Having arrived early, she'd had the time to check her roster and accompanying crew for the rest of the month. Now she wished she hadn't.

"What's up?"

Arizona peered around her computer monitor to see one of her favourite pilots.
"Owen! You're with us today?"

Hunt smiled, quickly embracing Arizona.
"Yeah, they just called me from standby this morning. At least it's a nice and easy one."

Arizona pouted.
"I wish they all were, look what I have next week." She pointed to her computer screen as Owen took a look.

"Seattle to Boston, Boston to Munich, and then back via Boston again. It sounds idyllic, but these two here?" Arizona's finger gently graced the monitor under two unknown names.
"Newbies?" Owen queried. Arizona nodded.
"Two on one trip? Ouch! You'll have your work cut out for you."

The blonde huffed.

'That's only the half of it. See the extra crew member on the Boston to Munich leg?"

Owen nodded.

"She's an Assessor. They've decided that my annual check will be on a trip with not one, but two newborns!"

Owen chuckled, though he felt her pain. He'd had the job of training new pilots whilst being assessed himself. Though fresh out of training, it took everyone a few months to assimilate themselves into their new role.

"You'll be fine, Robbins. You're the best Purser I know."

Blue eyes rolled.
"You just have to say that because you love me."

Owen winked.
"Doesn't mean it isn't true."

It was late by the time Arizona arrived home from Toronto the following night. A text from Callie let her know that things had been hectic at the hospital, but that she was home now and by all guesses probably already dead to the world. That sucked. Mulling it over on the drive home from the airport, Arizona decided to take a chance, turning into Callie's apartment block instead of heading onwards to her own place. As she got out of the car, she noticed a familiar face. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea.

"Well I'll give you points for at least having a shirt on this time, but a Fiat 500? Really?"

Arizona smiled, locking her car and pocketing the keys.
"Yeah, yeah, everyone hates my car. I happen to think she's adorable. Cristina, right?"

Yang nodded, opening the door to the apartment block and holding it for Arizona.
"You're not going to come in and have loud, obnoxious sex are you?" She eyed the blonde suspiciously as they entered the elevator together, the surgeon hitting button 5.

"No, I want to sleep. I just prefer having Calliope next to me." Arizona smiled, a cuddly mental image forming in her head.

"Oh my God, you're going to give me a cavity." Yang shuddered. She didn't do sweet, and the flight attendant sharing the elevator with her was practically oozing sugar and fairy dust.

"Whatever." Arizona grinned, hopping out first when the door opened onto the 5th floor. She let Cristina open the door, and watched as the surgeon deposited her keys into the bowl on the table. Before retiring to her room for some long over-due sleep, Cristina spoke.

"Kidding aside, Torres is really happy with you. Like sickeningly happy. I own scalpels. Keep it that way."

Arizona's eyes widened. Something about Cristina Yang made Arizona believe that she probably wasn't joking. Sliding her high heels off, Arizona quickly tiptoed to Callie's room, pushing the door open gently. The bathroom light was still on, allowing Arizona some light in the otherwise black room. She stole a quick peek at her girlfriend, not at all surprised to find the brunette's body splayed across the entirety of the bed. The t-shirt she had sported a few nights before still hung over the chair, so she quickly scooped it up and disappeared into the bathroom.

A few minutes later she moved quietly back into the bedroom; somewhat surprised that Callie was still unaware of her presence. She carefully deposited her uniform on the chair before lifting an edge of the covers and quietly slipping in next to Callie.

Only then did the brunette seem to acknowledge her presence.
"…Zona?" She murmured, still half asleep and having trouble with the amount of syllables in her girlfriend's name.

Arizona snuggled close, her legs quickly tangling with Callie's as the surgeon finally cracked one eye open.
"You're here?"

"I'm here. I missed you." She grinned, nuzzling her nose with Callie's as she kissed sleepy lips. She was graced with a lazy smile in return as Callie enveloped her in her arms.
"I missed you too. How was your trip?"

"Boring." Arizona answered, tilting her head against Callie's neck as she yawned.

Callie smiled, placing a kiss on Arizona's t-shirt clad shoulder.

"Let's get some sleep."
Arizona readily agreed, snuggling closer.
"Best idea ever."

Callie pinched the bridge of her nose gently, trying in vain to prevent the headache forming behind her eyes. It wasn't working. She was trying her best to live up to her new attending status, knowing that Webber was watching everyone very carefully. He'd announced first thing that cuts needed to be made, and Callie would be damned if one of them was her.

To make her day just that little more stressful, she'd been assigned a first year resident, with no interest or, it seemed, knowledge in orthopaedics. They had consulted on an osteosarcoma case, and the moron had told the patient that he'd need his leg amputated.

"I'm sorry, Dr. Torres. I just thought that it was the best course of action…" Dr. Watson trailed off, suddenly very afraid of the attending staring him down.

"The best course of action? It was the most extreme course of action that should only be considered as a final solution! We don't even know yet if the cancer has metastasised!" Callie seethed, before composing herself and taking a deep breath.
"Go back into that patient's room. Apologise for speaking out of turn, and convince him that he will, with all probability, be keeping his leg. Then book a CT."

Callie slammed the chart shut before thrusting it into Dr. Watson's hands.
"Now."

As she watched her terrified resident make a run for the patient's room, her phone buzzed.

I've packed, and re-packed twice. Lunch later? A xx

Definitely! I need to get out of this hospital before I dismember my resident. Joe's ok? C xx

Ha! Put the scalpel down, Calliope! An hour? A xx

It's a date. :) C xx

Callie slid into the booth at Joe's a little under an hour later. She was just about to text Arizona when she saw the blonde appear from the bathroom .
"Hey!" She grinned, sliding in beside Callie, their lips meeting in a welcome embrace.

"Don't make me go back there." Callie huffed, resting her forehead against Arizona's.

"You have to eventually, if you want paid." The flight attendant joked.
"Don't worry though, I ordered you a bacon cheese burger."

Now Callie grinned.
"You're perfect."

Arizona listened patiently to Callie's ranting throughout the course of their meal, laughing and making faces at appropriate moments.
"Oh, guess what?"

"What?" Callie asked, popping the last of her burger into her mouth.

"I've got to look after not one, but two newbies on my next trip. And someone at rostering thought it would also be funny to make one of those flights my annual check flight."

"Gross, what's that?"

"It's basically just to check we're following company procedures, policies, and safety. Although when they check Pursers they're also assessing our management and leadership skills."

Callie frowned.
"That's kinda not fair when you've got two new members flying with you. Where are you going this time?"

"Boston, Munich, Boston." Arizona smiled. She was at least happy about the destinations.

"Oh that's so cool though. I'd love to visit Germany." Callie smiled, taking a large swig of her soda.

Arizona nodded.
"I love it. I lived there for six years when I was younger. My dad was stationed at a barracks in Heidelberg."

"No way! So you can speak German?"

"Yeah. I'm a little rustier than I'd like, but that's why I always get excited about German routes."

"And you leave the day after tomorrow?" Callie made a note of each of Arizona's trips, and they always tried to spend as much time as possible with each other before she was due to set off again.

"That's right. For five days."

"Vielen Dank."
"Bitte. Guten Abend."

Arizona thanked the receptionist as she grabbed her key-card and headed towards the elevator. She hit number 4, and sighed, leaning against the back of the elevator. She was dying for a soak in the bathtub waiting in her room, and she planned to raid the mini bar as soon as she had washed the day off.

As she towel-dried her hair a short while later, the familiar beeping of her phone made her smile. She swiped the screen, allowing the video call to connect.

"God am I glad to see your face." She beamed.

"How was it?" Callie queried, getting herself comfortable on the couch.

"Uh, ok I suppose. I passed, which is the main thing. They send a written report to our Head Office, so it'll be a while before I know what that said."

"You'll have been awesome." Callie assured.
"How were the new girls?"

Arizona groaned, her head falling into her hands. Callie grimaced.
"That bad?"

"No, not entirely. Becky was fine, a little nervous and slow, but that's to be expected. Sarah was a completely different story." Arizona rolled her eyes.
"She'd not flown much as a passenger, so it wasn't until her first day at work that she discovered that she gets airsick. Like really badly."

"Oh no way!"

"Oh yeah. She sat in the rear galley for the best part of two hours with about ten sick bags. Now, I see a ton of puke doing this job, but that was something else…" Arizona shuddered, scrunching her nose.

"And from staff? You'd think someone wanting your job would be a frequent flyer. Oh that's just so gross. I'm sorry sweetie."

Arizona sighed tiredly.
"Don't worry about it. I have two days here before I need to get back on an aircraft with her." She joked.

"And then you'll only be one night away from seeing me." Callie winked, making Arizona smile.

"I can't wait."
