Author's note:

Hey guys sorry for not updating in so long I've had a lot happen recently. I just finished exams and my friends house burnt down so I've been stressed out recently and hadn't had any time to update from studying for my exams. I hope to finish the next chapter by this week and post it by this weekend or Monday. This chapter is shorter but I promise to make the next chapter longer. Chapter 6

Ezra was getting frustrated, the cloaked man still wouldn't talk and it was taking a toll on him. Kanan had sent him out after a small mishap with the prisoner, well a little more then a small mishap. He had beat up the man after letting his anger control him, personally he thought the smug-He punched the door in frustration and sat down on the floor wincing in pain, Damn he though. He knew he shouldn't be moving around much since his recent injury but at the moment he was more concerned with finding answers about that night. He ran his shaking hands through this hair taking deep breaths as he tried to calm himself down. He could hear his heart beating rapidly in his chest and tried listening to its rapid beat to help lower his anger. His anger was slowly draining out of him and yet he still felt barely any guilt for hitting him. He heard the door slide open and looked up to see Sabine standing there.

He looked back down and heard a shuffling of feet, Sabine was sitting beside him and there was an awkward silence.

"Ezra I know how you're feeling right now... That sense of frustration and despair, we've all felt it before. Ezra it may not be much but you can trust us to be at your side no matter what." Sabine said softly

Ezra looked at her gazing into her brown eyes searching for any lies but saw none. He looked back down again, sighing he slowly got back off of the floor. "I'm going back in" He said turning towards the door when he felt a tug on his arm, turning his head he saw Sabine glaring at him.

"You're not going back in there Ezra, Kanan said tha- " She said before being interrupted

"I'm going back in there whether you like it or not, I don't give a crap if Kanan said no!" He said raising his voice in anger " Stay out of my way Sabine, I don't want to hurt you..."

Sabine looked at him surprised at his threat then snorted " As if you could hurt me" She stared at him before continuing on her sentence " Ezra we want to help you, but you have to understand what you did went past the line." Revenge isn't the best path to take Ezra, I should know that" She said darkly at the end and Ezra wondered what happened to her in her past. Shaking off that thought he shook of her hand and opened up the door.

"Just don't get in my way Sabine" He said walking through the dimly lit door. He walked to another door and heard a frustrated voice talking and a man letting out a growl. He opened he door to see that man with his cloak torn on the ground and chains wrapped around his arms, legs and torso. He smelt the faint scent of blood coming from the room and looked up to see the prisoners face bloodied. His nose was crooked, bending at a strange angle and parts of his face were bruised and swollen. He heard a voice cough behind him alerting the people in the room of their presence. He looked to the right and caught Kanan's eyes that showed his disappointment at him for disobeying his order.

"Kid, what are you doing back in here? I thought I told you to stay outside!" Kanan said

"Look Kanan, you don't have to treat me like some kid! I can handle myself, I just got a little angry... Anyways I don't need you to tell me what's right from what's wrong!" He said getting frustrated

Kanan looked at him before saying " Kid just go you're making this more complicated then it already is."

Ezra could feel despair growing at the bottom of his stomach " Please Kanan, I swear I won't hit him again, I'll only listen to the conversation. He said pleading for a second chance

He saw Kanan sigh and nodded his head to him " Fine but you're sitting over there in the corner where Zeb will keep an eye on you. Nodding his head he walked over and sat close to Zeb who growled at him. "Kid you shouldn't be here" he said

Ezra looked at Zeb " Knock it off, I have every right to be here more so then you," he said. Ezra wouldn- could not miss this conversation for the world, he would be getting his answers soon enough but still, he was almost anxious to hear what had happened to his parents after that night, maybe just maybe they were still alive. A small flame of hope sprung from that thought and he was terrified yet hopeful of what was to come.
