A/N: Don't hate me if you don't like it. But thanx for all the support. I've been working on a side project for Merlin but when it's time to publish a new chapter it deletes, but i'M rambling now so hope you like it.
Llacheu read over the document one last time.
Druid camp, wiped out, raid led by prince Arthur. No survivors.
Thomas, blacksmith, children: Guinevere and Elyan, brought in by prince Arthur.
Llacheu gripped the book tighter before blinking his eyes.
His father was a murderer.
After all these years, after he looked up to him.
Llacheu bit his lip before closing the book and placing it under his bed.
He leaned back on his bed and looked off to space.
How could his father do that to his mother? It wasn't fair he didn't have a grandfather because of him. Why did she even forgive him?
He hadn't even bothered to look at the other pages.
He had read enough.
Before he could ponder more about his father the knocking on his door caught his attention.
"Come" he called.
Esmeralda peeked her head in the crack before stepping into his room all the way. Her hair was braided back in a green ribbon that matched her dress.
"I hoped Cordelia and Elliot coming would put your mind at rest." She admitted sitting at his desk.
Llacheu looked at her from his bed before groaning, "How does this not disturb you?"He asked.
Esmeralda gave a small smile, "Because I know my father. If once there was a time magic was outlawed, it exists no longer. That's because I know the king he grew to be. It's rare to come across a king many love and respect."
Llacheu pondered her words before snorting, "What do you know? Your nothing but a little girl."
Esmeralda chuckled before standing up, "I'll let that slide because you're upset, but talk to father, or Merlin, or mother " she said before standing up, "Or at least Thomas,he's been going mad trying to figure out what's wrong with you."
Before he could respond Arthur walked in cheerfully, "Llacheu, just the man I wanted to see."
Esmeralda gave Llacheu a pointed look before smiling, and placing a kiss on her father's cheek, then walking out of Llacheu's chambers.
Llacheu took a deep breath before staring at his father, " I know what you did. "
Merlin walked into the castle and sighed. It was good to be back.
To bad he was back with death sentences for his soveriegn's/ best friend's children.
Merlin headed straight for Arthur's chambers but he stopped when he saw Gwendolyn walking down the corridors with a girl he's never seen before.
Could she be the one Hengist warned him about?
Merlin did have experience with evil sorcerers who pose as servants to kill royalty, Nimueh a prime example. "Merlin", Esmeralda cried rushing towards him, the girl in tow.
Merlin smiled as she rushed to him, " You just missed Nemeth's party. " Esmeralda said.
"I'll catch them later. But I did bring you a present. " He said.
Esmeralda's blue-brown eyes widened in excitement. " What is it? A rose?" She asked clasping her hands together.
Merlin put a hand behind his back before showing her an emerald colored rose, that matched her dress.
"It's beautiful," she marveled.
Merlin usually gave Esmeralda flowers when she was upset or when he came back from trips.
"As are you. Whose your friend? " He asked motioning towards Tabitha, who was draped in a long sleeve dress that reached her ankles.
A serving gown.
Esmeralda gave a small smile, "This is Tabitha, my new lady-in-waiting. Father appointed her to me when she saved my life. " Esmeralda said.
Before Merlin could respond a knight called him, "Sir Merlin, the king wishes to see you in prince Llacheu's chambers."
Esmeralda gave him a small look before looking to Tabitha.
How did Arthur even know he returned?
Merlin nodded at Esmeralda and Tabitha before walking to Llacheu's chambers.
When Merlin walked in, Arthur was sitting in a chair near Llacheu's bed, ticking and unticking his jaw while, Thomas sat quietly at his desk while watching his brother glare murderously at his father.
Merlin could feel the tension in the room so he warily took a seat,"What's going on?" He asked.
"I know how my father killed my mother's father. I know how he sent his men to slaughter innocent people." Llacheu hissed.
Arthur ticked and unticked his jaw, "Llacheu..." he began but Llacheu just ignored him.
"I've looked up to you all my life but finding out that if my brother was born a few years before you reinstated magic, he would pay with his life, you would condemn him to death, makes me despise you" he yelled standing up feeling his eyes water with betrayal.
"Llacheu he is still your father." Merlin began to say.
"He is no father of mine. He's nothing but a hypocrite and a liar!"
Arthur remained quiet as he listened to his son's piercing jousts.
Merlin and Thomas tried to calm him down but it was no use.
He couldn't even defend himself, one of his worst nightmares was playing out before his eyes.
His son hated him, and it was all his fault.
He had his mind set to be a good, kind father ever since he was young.
He never wanted to be like his father.
But here he was, his sins on the table.
His son despised him.
That sent Arthur into overdrive.
He couldn't help it as tears ran down his eyes.
'A good king never shows vulnerability' he could hear his father say from the grave.
But right now he wasn't a king, he was a father bowing in front of his wrongs.
" I'm sorry." Arthur cried into his palms.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he sobbed.
Everyone turned to look at him.
Merlin had ever seen him cry once but to him and to everyone else, he was a fearless leader.
"Father?" Thomas asked, walking towards him.
"I cannot justify my actions, but I have spent the last fourteen years of my life regretting all of the harm I may have caused. I was young, inexperienced. All I knew was the lead of my father, the need, the craving, for his approval. I know that I was wrong, but there is no punishment in hell worse than my sons hating me." Arthur confessed not looking up.
Llacheu stood stunned by his father's revelation.
Maybe he didn't really hate his father, just resented him.
His father knew everything about him, but Llacheu only knew so little of him.
He knew he was an adored king, 'The Virtuous and Mighty', were the titles his father wore with pride.
But thinking on it, that's all Llacheu knew about his father.
He somewhat felt ashamed by his outburst even if he felt he had the right.
He has a friend, Victor of Caerleon. If his father was shown disrespect by him, he'd be immediately shut down before being thrown in the dungeons as punishment.
" I don't hate you father. I could never." Thomas said.
Merlin and Thomas looked expectantly at Llacheu.
"Perhaps I overreacted, you have shown no sign of being discourteous over the years and I sincerely apologize." He said.
He wanted to forgive his father but his pride was eating at him.
Tabitha frowned as she heard the young prince and the king's fallout.
She quietly lifted herself off the floor before walking away from the closed chamber door.
Her mistress wouldn't be happy, not with a fallout now. The prophecy was too close.
She quickly ran to find Teala.
A/n: What is Teala and Tabitha hiding? Next chapter we meet Teala.
We're also going to see why Tabitha might want to keep Llacheu's pride at bay.
Don't forget about Luther.
But i promise more fluffy chapters are coming... probably.
