Everybody was paranoid after what had happened at the weekly Capture the Flag game considering Annabeth Chase, one of the most famous demigods in Camp Half- Blood, was shot through the head from a mysterious figure's sharp dagger. Everybody was told to be kept in their cabins until further notice and the hunters of Artemis and Percy were escorted back to their campsite in the mountains by the goddess of moon's chariot.
That night while the hunter's had went to rest, the God of the Elements and the Goddess of the moon were racking their minds trying to figure out who the mysterious figure was.
"That aura felt familiar in some way," the god of elements had said.
"I felt something that seemed familiar also. The aura felt evil," Artemis says.
"Hades?"
"No, Hades made be full of hatred and the god of the underworld, but he has a good heart."
Meanwhile in another place
"You have done me well Annabeth" said the Master.
"Thank You Master," Annabeth says in trancelike words, " I have injured 5 hunters who shall soon die in 2 hours."
"Great. Everything is going as planned. And now that those pathetic gods think you're dead, they will never think it was us who has done what has already been done."
(Luke steps out of the shadows)
"And we shall rejoice and become the rulers OF THE ABOVE AND BELOW WORLD ITSELF!"
The two plotters kiss on the lips.
"Oh Luke, Percy never kissed me like that," says Annabeth.
"And soon he shall be perished with the rest, and we can start a new Earth," Luke replies evilly/ monologuing.
Percy
"Ahhhh!" I hear one of the hunter's screech. They come bursting into our tent. She points to a tent. "They're d-d-d-dead!"
"WHAT?!" Exclaims Artemis.
We both tumble out of bed and run towards the tents which carry the dead bodies. Artemis sniffles and lets a tear escape and runs down her cheek. She takes each one and carries them to the ground and lays them down. I follow her. We stare at the 5 bodies. Artemis goes up to them, crosses their arms against their chest to make an X formation and kisses each and everyone one of their foreheads. We then all stare at their bodies and give them a moment of silence. I then see Artemis do something I have never seen, but clearly the hunters have before. She closes her eyes. She moves her arms gracefully. The bodies rise and turn into a glimmering shine and they then swirl and rise to the stars and the sun and beyond. I stare at where the bodies just were. They had disappeared.
The hunters and Artemis walk away in silence. A sad pitiful silence. I follow Artemis's lead.
When we get back to the tent, Artemis screams in frustration and throws her fist onto her wooden table.
I stand by her stroking her auburn hair. "It's okay Artemis," I say soothingly, "It's okay." While doing so, I was also thinking. And apparently, so was Artemis. I first say, "That thing from yesterday ni-"
Artemis cuts me off and continues, "night. HE must've done that. The fire. It's all coming together."
"Except one little minor detail. We don't know who he is," I interrupt. "But could it had been?" She replies thing is that we don't know anybody with that evil aura the mysterious figure had.
"No one radiates as much dark power as he had. Many people would have had to give blessings to it. We need to know which gods or goddesses gave it the power it had. Minor or Major god/dess." She ponders aloud.
Later that afternoon Percy and Artemis trained the hunters. Percy taught close combat and Artemis taught ranged combat (not like the hunters need the lessons, but whatever). Everyone seemed to have their minds on what had happened last night and the deaths of some recent troops. Artemis of course had pretended that nothing had happened for the sake of herself and the sake of the hunters. Percy had also pretended that nothing had happened but it was the for sake of Artemis. He knew that she was always caring to the hunters as if they were her own children and was devastated when one or many of them had passed away.
"Okay hunters. You guys may know how to use normal arrows, but do you know how to use flaming and venomous arrows? They are much deadlier and can kill instantly which of course makes it 10 times more dangerous AND efficient than the normal everyday demigod arrow. But they are also harmful to yourself if you don't handle the arrows with care," Artemis rambles on.
The hunters all seem depressed and sad. Though they clearly hear that Artemis is too behind her bold and fierce voice.
Percy himself was thinking. He was thinking about how come Annabeth knew who had done it. He was thinking about what had happened yesterday at the Capture the Flag game.
'It was-" Annabeth was suddenly shot by a dagger flying to her head and she drops to the ground."
"Artemis!" Percy hollers looking for Artemis. When he finds her he starts telling her his ideas of how to find out what had happened to the hunters and who the figure was. "So if we can find Annabeth's soul, in the underworld, we would be able to find out who that was!"
"Annabeth may know who it is, but would she be willing to tell us?" She questions.
"Well, she was willing to tell me before she had gotten a dagger thrown into her head so probably yes," Percy points out.
"Okay Percy, good thinking," Artemis says slowly and pecks Percy's lips. She could still taste his lips after she pulled away. Sea salt. It gave Artemis a sensation in which her heart fluttered and did a little dance.
"Percy, Duck!" Artemis hollers at him.
"What?" He questions obviously puzzled.
One of the hunters nearby pushed Percy down to the ground right when a dagger whizzes past his ear. I tumble out of the way out of surprise when it is about to cut my face.
I stand there in shock for a second but quickly snapped back into action. I whipped my head around to look for the person who had thrown the dagger. What had shocked me the most was that during that fiasco they managed to hide themselves pretty well. I scan the area; tree tops, behind the tents when suddenly an arrow comes whizzing towards me. I dodge quickly, managing to do a somersault. I then notice something. Where the hell is Percy. As if answering my question, Percy ran past me and attempted to attack the attacker. I follow his suit considering he knows where the attacker was. I unshieve one of my arrows and put it against my bow. I pull back the arrow and release. The arrow flies through the air and stabs the attacker's leg. He falls back from the tree and lands onto the ground unconscious. I turn back to Percy and just stare at him with disbelief. What just happened, who was that? The attackers stopped mid-battle. Some fled. Some dead and unconscious on the ground of the leafy forest. Percy and the hunters apparently quickly shot and defeated many of the attackers
I walk over to the unconscious body slumped over at the root of the tree the mysterious attacker, who seemed to be the leader, fell out of. I lift up the hood and it reveals a full head of thick blond hair. I could tell right away it was a teenage boy around Thalia's age. I lift him back to the campsite into the infirmary so I would be able to question him when he awakes. Which actually could take a while considering I had used a venomous arrow. His legs seems to be turning green from the venom and his veins in the back bulge out.
"Oh god!" I yell with realization. "Percy!"
"Yes milady?" He questions.
"Go check on the hunters. Make sure none are injured and if they are, bring them back here."
Percy goes off in a hurry to follow his orders. A few minutes afterwards, the boy wakes up.
"Who are you?" I bellowed, feeling angry that he had disturbed the peace. The boy keeps his lips pursed obviously a gesture saying 'I'm not telling nor am I budging.I become agitated and begin to get angry. Percy comes into a tent reporting back.
"I don't see any hunters missing or any injured."
"Okay. Thank you Percy," I say. I peck his lips," The kid won't tell us who sent him to our campsite." I see Percy give a heavy sigh and a little shake of his head as if to clear his head.
At Camp- Half Blood
Nico
I walk out of the shadow of Hades' cabin. I look to my right and see a few campers stare at me judgmentally. I ignore them and give them a look which makes them jerk back in fear. But I see that they are paranoid from something else. It seems about everybody is either in the cabins or walking to their cabins.
I decide to go to the Great House to catch up on the news of Camp- Halfblood. As I wander over there I still see more and more paranoid faces.
Camp Half- Blood was quieter than usual. No chatting. No laughing. No swords clanking. No Aphrodite kids flirting. Nothing at all. It was as if the whole camp had shut down and locked themselves inside.
I started to get lost in my thoughts that I almost passed the Great House. People are guarding the doors of the Great House which makes me worry. They scan me and open the doors letting me in. I find Chiron and Dionysus deep in conversation. I eavesdrop on their conversation.
"I just don't know what to do. Everyone is in panic, even I am a little worried about the safety of the demigods and ourselves." Chiron states.
"Maybe we can have the whole place under lockdown." Dionysus says swigging the bottle of liquor in his hand, "Everything stays in, but how do we know everything stays out?"
"But we already have the boundaries that keep monsters out," Chiron points out, "Wait a minute. It already keeps out monsters. BUT, it doesn't keep out demigods," he ponders out loud.
Confused of what was going on, I knock on the doorframe. "Chiron?" I say like I was looking for him.
"Ah, Nico. Welcome," the centaur greets.
"What is going on?" I ask, "I see that everybody is inside instead of training."
"Well that is a very good question we have come across Nico." Chiron says. "Why don't you take a seat." He says gesturing towards a chair. I look at the chair hesitantly, but finally walk over to sit down.
"Okay Nico. A few days ago, Friday, we had our Capture the Flag game with the hunters," he starts," And during the games there was a mysterious attack in which a few of the hunters had gotten injured. And one of our own demigods, Annabeth, was murdered, by a mysterious figure, with a fractured skull and a broken neck.
"Well she turned into a bitch and slutty anyways," I say in disdain.
"Well, obviously, here in Camp Half-Blood everyone is panicked and in fear trying to figure out the attacker." Chiron continued ignoring my comment.
I take a while to take it in and finally respond. "A mysterious figure?" I question.
"Yes. Nobody knows who he, she, or what it was yet. I expect there may be a traitor in our shadows," he pauses instantly," Sorry Nico."
"No problem. Okay so you think it may be a demigod or god that caused this murder?" I ask.
"Yes."
I take this silence to think about the traitor in Camp Half-Blood. I lean back and tried to remember anyone especially. I snap out of my thoughts when Chiron calls my name. I jerk my head alertly towards his voice.
"Nico," he calls the second time.
I reply back with," Oh, I'm sorry, what?"
Chiron chuckles softly and says "You seemed deep in thought. What were you thinking about?"
"Oh. Um. It's nothing," I reply.
"Why don't you go ahead and get some sleep and don't worry too much about it."
"Okay," I say. I get up and leave the Great House.
I don't go get sleep yet like he had ordered. The moon illuminates the grass. I wander around the camp. The arena, the pavillion, and the cabins. I walk into the cabin to the left of Zeus. Hades. Empty like always. I think about what had happened. My thoughts wander off until I came to a realization. Where is Percy? The last I had heard from him was a couple months back when he became the god of elements and everything.
I walk back to the bare Hades's cabin staring at the pale green grass. I feel a connection between my head and someone's elbow. I crash towards the ground on top of her. I see her eyes and fall deeply inside of her chocolate brown eyes.
We stay like that for a few minutes. I get up awkwardly.
"Sorry about that," I apologize to her.
"N-n-no problem." She stutters.
I walk up to the Hades cabin when all of a sudden something hits me in the back. I smash into the cabin. I see the girl running towards me. Everything is blurred and I start to lose conscious. And then…. everything is black.
Percy
I stood beside the still anonymous attacker in the infirmary bed. He lays with many cut and bruises all over. I've been standing here for three hours since I had to carry him all the way here. I couldn't figure out anything about him just by looking at him. I couldn't wait till he woke up so I can question him. As if somebody answered my wish, I saw the anonymous person stir a little bit.
"Hey." I say, shaking him a little bit. I couldn't tame my excitement in my voice.
The attacker sat up, struggling a little, and blinked with a blank and confused expression on his face.
He takes a look at my face and comes to a realization. His eyes wide he says, "Oh Shit."
He tries to get up but is stuck to the bed. He looks down towards his wrists and legs. He sees that there are ropes restraining him. He sighs.
"Welcome." I say sarcastically.
"Haha. Really funny."
He seems concentrated on something.
"Who sent you!"
"I will not betray my master."
I hold up my hand. I held a fireball that was mixed with lightning. "You might want to tell me."
I haven't noticed until he jumped out of the bed. His hands are on fire. He has powers too. He threw a fireball at me. I roll out of the way and throw my little 'mixture' at him. The tent is on fire. My fireball hit another bed in the back and it lit up like a christmas tree. The fire was starting to rise and the tent gave off a horrible aroma of burning plastic.
A waterfall spouts from my hand putting out most of the fire. Vines grow onto the tent trapping us in and keeping everybody out. I cough from the smoke that is still trapped into the room. He throws a few fireballs. I take a few moments to realize and 2 of them hit me. I fall down trying to avoid the others. "UGH" I yell, feeling my skin singeing. He hides behind one of the beds with his back against the frame. With my best effort, I try to flood the tent. The boy scoots back trying to avoid it. I groan in exhaust. My hand falls back and I gasp looking for air. The boy suddenly throws a knife hurling towards my head. It slices part of my cheek and punctures the tent. I see light coming through the hole. But not much from the vines wrapping around it. With the last of my energy, I send a thunderbolt through the flooded tent. I pass out onto the floor. Through the fading light of my eyes, I see the boy also on the floor, shaking. I black out.
HAHA. I'm evil aren't I? Next update will be within a month [(hopefully) if I'm not lazy]
