Glammie: So school has been going.
Lord Death: Which means you'll be writing again?
Glammie: But of course, what else am I gonna do on the bus rides to football games and college trips?
Kid: You're cheering again?!
Glammie: Why would I not, I'm my school's favorite cheerleader.
Kid: But, you're so mean to us.
Glammie: That's because you live in my head. (Frowns) Now, LD do the disclaimer!
Lord Death:(Sighs) Glammiegirl328 does not own Soul Eater.
Kid: But she is a senior.
Glammie:(Blowing my nose) So close to graduation!
1st Birthday
There comes a time in every parent's life, where they make the most crucial decision for their children. Name? No. School? No. It was something so important, so sacred, if not done correctly, it could throw off the balance of the universe.
What were they going to do for the child's first birthday?
Maka put her foot down. She decided early, when the twins were 10 months that she was not going all out for their party. Why would she? It's not tlike the twins will remember this anyway. Instead, she was going to have a quiet evening amoung friends and family.
Unfortunately, nothing ever seems to go quietly in the Death-Albarn household.
(Party Countdown 3 days)
Kami: Maka, honestly!? This is important.
Kami looks up from her cup of coffee and gives her daughter her best persuasive glare. She had invited her for a date at Deathbucks whrn she heard through the grapevine what Maka was planning for the twins. Kami refused to let that go without kicking and screaming until she got her way.
Maka: Mom, no I'm serious, why should I put up with a headache of a party to entertain two kids with find bubbles hilarious.
Kami: But, we had one for you, and it was lovely. Everyone had a great time and you were so happy.
Maka: Mama, I don't even remember any of it. I know Itsy and Izzy definitely won't.
Kami: Maka you are going to regret not having a party. It's like you first big thing with you and your child, you can't just not have one.
Maka: Mom, no. If you want to attend the twins' birthday, I expect you to be on your best behavior.
Kami: Wow, you're stubborn.
Maka: Can you guess where I got it from?
Kami:(Smirking) Well, it certainly wasn't your father.
Maka: Thanks for understanding Mama.
Kami: No, problem.
Maka:(Grabbing her cup and standing) I'm going to grab a refill. It's sad how being a parent has made me dependent on caffeine. I think it's in my blood stream now.
Kami smiled and watched her daughter walk back in line. When Maka was finally out of ear shot, Kami picked up her phone out her purse and held it to her ear.
Kami: Did you get all that?
On the other end a male sighed, "Difficult as always."
Kami:(Smirking) She is my child after all.
"Through and through. Guess this is going to be a surprise party for her too. You're just going to have to distract them. "
Kami: Roger. Talk to you soon.
Kami hung up when she saw her daughter coming.
Maka:(Taking a seat) Who was that?
Kami:(Shrugging) Wrong number.
Maka gave her a stare as if she didn't believe her, but let it go. She knew she wasn't going to get a clear answer from her mother.
Kami: So have you started wedding planning yet?
Maka: No, we're waiting until after graduation to worry about marriage things.
Kami: Well, that's smart. So I guess you're not going far for your sythe studies.
Maka: Nope. I have to be around here.
Maka sighed. That was one thing she was kinda bummed about. After graduating DWMA each student had the option of interning at one of the Death Sythe HQ's around the world. Maka planned to go to London prior to meeting Arusa, it was her dream school. After having the twins, Maka put that on the back burner. She had to stay in Death City not only for her internship, but her history lesson with Kid.
Kami: That's good. It's not the best when your family is halfway around the room, and you can't see and hold them everyday.
Maka nodded in agreement. Those years without her mother were rough, she felt alone a lot. As much as she enjoyed talking to her friends about stuff that was going on, there was nothing better than a mother's touch.
Maka: Mama? Why did you go so far away?
Kami: Maka, there are sime things that you won't understand right now. Maybe later when you are more pronounced as a meister, we can talk about it. But understand that I never wanted to leave your side.
Maka frowned. She hated those "When you're older" answers. She felt she was mature enough to handle anything.
Kami looked at her daughter. She could tell she wasn't satisfied with her answer. It was tearing Kamiup on the inside because she wasn't intentionally trying to hurt her daughter, but she sworn an oath thatshe wouldn't talk about the work she had been doing while she was gone.
The pair sat in silence contemplating what to say next when Maka's phone rang.
Maka:(Hitting the accept button) Hello? ... What?... How? ...WHAT DO YOU MEAN COMPLETELY DESTROYED! ?... Ugh, I'm on my way!
Maka hung up and started gathering her belongings and hurrying towards the door.
Kami: What's wrong?
Maka:(Calling over her shoulder) That is what I'm trying to find out?
Maka gave her mother one final wave and ran out the door.
(At the DWMA)
Soul: This is perfect 'Star, just perfect.
Black*Star: How was I supposed to know that they would react that way. I just thought it'd be a couple of bubbles and woosh, all done.
Soul:(Face palming) Well if you didn't nap in Chemistry, you would know that wouldn't you?
Black*Star: You know, you're starting to sound like Maka.
Maka:(Walking in the room) I heard my name.
As she enterd she took in her surroundings. There had to be a large messy explosion of some sort because there were chunks of paper maché rocks, liquid decorating any open surface, and the smell of something burning in the air.
Maka: Please tell me that wasn't my Pompeii project.
Black*Star: Ah-ah, our project.
Maka: What the heck you guys? I thought you could handle the man power while I did the paper.
Soul: We, well I, did until this genius thought it would be smart to make the explosion bigger and more epic.
Black*Star:(Mumbling) I didn't expect it to be that big.
Maka: Dammit, Star. Th is couldn't have come at a better time. Now I gotta do it all over, and worry about the twins' birthday.
Soul: Why can't Arusa do it?
Maka opened her mouth but let her argument die in her throat.
Maka: Actually, that is a good idea. He knows exactly what I want, so if he and Tsubaki were in charge, nothing could go wrong.
Black*Star: And that'll give us just enough time to work on our project. Man, I love it when my plans come together.
Maka:(Vein throbbing in her forehead) Star, I just got over my murderous feelings for you. Would you want them to return?
Black*Star:(Hiding behind Soul) No!
Maka sighed, she had 48 hours to get this project done, which was not a lot of time. If Black*Star and Soul contributed, they would get done quickly.
Maka: Well, someone has to tell Arusa that he's planning the party. I'll see you guys later. Stein's room at 10-ish.
Both boys nodded and the group parted ways.
(Later)
Maka walked through the door of her home. Looking around she noticed that it was wrong looking. It was as if someone went through things and tried to put them back the way they found it. She heard noise coming from upstairs. Quietly, she went to follow it.
As she climbed the stairs, she heard what sounded like ransacking in her bedroom. Moving even quieter, she turned her arm into a sythe and creeped up on the entrance. Peeking in she saw a cloacked figure going through her drawers.
Maka rushed in without any hesitation. She didn't want them to have any chance to fight back. Giving a swift kick to the back of their legs, she watched as they grabbed at everything before finally falling to the floor.
Maka:(Climbing on top of them) Who are you and what do you want?
The person struggled to try to get the meister off of them.
Maka:(Voice getting lower) You have five second to spit it out before my blade starts slicing.
The person was still struggling. They kept kicking and trying to fight her off. Maka sighed and decided to show them that she wasn't bluffing. She cut the side of their thigh and heard a girlish scream.
Maka: I'm not gonna ask you again. Next time I'm going deeper.
Maka grabbed the mystery girl's cloak and pulled it off her face. What she saw next shocked her.
The girl had grey eyes and dark hair. She looked almost like...
Maka: Kokona?
The girl looked confused lik we she couldn't understand how Maka knew her name.
Kokona:(Fear flashing in her eyes) Please kill me!
Maka: You're not even supposed to be alive. How are you here?
Kokona: Please kill me. They are going to catch me again.
Maka: Who?
Before Kokona could give her a clear answer, her eyes blanked over and she pushed Maka off her into the opposite wall and jumped out the open window.
Maka quickly recovered and ran to the window.
Maka: Koko!
Maka watched as she ran into then trees behind her house.
It was about 30 minutes before Arusa and the twins got home so Maka reorganized the places where Koko had been and sat at the kitchen table with a bag of frozen peas on her neck. When she heard the click of the lock, she perked up.
Arusa walked behind the two toddlers and looked at his fiancé. When he saw her holding the compress to her neck and the faint bruises that were starting to develop on her exposed leg, he was on edge.
He placed the twins in the living room in their playpen and turned on their cartoons. Once they were settled in, he walked into the kitchen and sai opposite from her.
Arusa:(Giving her a once over) What happened?
Maka:(Smirking sarcastically) Oh, this little thing. I got it when I walked in and had to kick some intruder's ass.
Arusa:(Tensing up) Where are they now?
Maka: She ran off.
Arusa: She?! You saw her face?
Maka: Yeah, after I sliced her leg and asked her who she was, I was giving up on the silent treatment, so I just pulled her hood off and was greeted with a lovely surprise.
Arusa: You knew her?
Maka: Yes, it's crazy how many kishins are just not dying now.
Arusa:(Freezing) Kishin? You couldn't mean-
Maka:(Cutting him off) Oh, I do mean. She was here going through our stuff.
Arusa: And, she did that to you?
Maka:(Nodding) I wonder.
Arusa: What?
Maka: What she was looking for.
Arusa nodded gravely.
Maka:(Glancing over her fiance's face) Is there something you're not tell me?
Extras
Glammie: I'm stopping here for now, or this isn't getting done. So sorry this is so late, but senior year is real.
Kid: In other words her procrastination is real.
Glammie:(Frowns) That too.
Kid: Let's shout some people out, so you can go to bed:
FW Wandering: Thanks. The Hall of Justice joke is something that I heard on a standup. Before you kill me , yes I know where it's from. Soul's son (maybe), and darling Itsu? Hmmm, who knows.
Hatter Quicktype: So, originally this story was gonna be more light hearted, bit that's not how I write, so we needed some added drama for yo mama. Hope you enjoyed this, and thanks for being my #1 fan.
Justinlawisawesome: Thanks love, I hope you enjoyed. I write to make you guys happy, so please let me know what you think.
Glammie: Ok guys, gotta go. Calc results tomorrow, and who knows how that'll turn out.
Kid: Best of luck.
Glammie: Thanks Kiddo. I need this to keep my honor roll privileges. So, fingers crossed.
Kid: If you wanna send Glamm some luck, reviews, or just wanna shoot the shit, please review. She gets happy.
Glammie: Even happier than when I'm around my crush.
