Chapter 28 – Getting Better

"She will be fine, she will feel like she has a cold or flu for a few days but she is in no danger, we will keep checks on her temperature and how she is doing, she may get a fever but she is okay." Riller looked up at Ofelia.
"Really?"
"Really"
Riller turned back to face Flora and began stroking her hair in a soothing way, "don't worry Flora, everything is going to be okay, I promise. We are going to get through this together with our friends as well, I promise."

The ship landed in the courtyard will ease, Bloom stood up and looked out the front windscreen as the ship hit the grass. "We are here, come on we better hurry, we don't know well Flora is doing." Stella spoke up as she stood from her seat.
"Hang on Stella, we need to land properly and safely first." Brandon spoke from his seat in the driving pit.
"But we have landed!"
"We can't open the doors Stella until the engine has finished turning off, just because the landing gear is on the ground doesn't mean that we have completely landed." Stella huffed as she sat down crossing her arms as she did.
A couple of minutes later the ship had landed fully and the door was beginning to open, all the girls and specialists were stood waiting for the door to open fully, as it opened further and further they saw Ms Faragonda and Griselda waiting for them, smiles on both of their faces. "It's so good to see you again girls, I take it you were successful?" Ms Faragonda knew that they were successful but had to ask anyway to make sure.
"Of course we were" Layla said as she walked off the ship followed by everyone, Tecna close behind lifting up the potted plant to show the teachers.
"That's brilliant girls" Griselda spoke happy to see the flower in her student's hands. "Come we better get back to the infirmary, the sooner Flora gets that cure the better."

Flora was led in bed on her side looking out the window her back to the door, she felt terrible, her head was spinning, her stomach was in knots, and she had to suppress her sickness. The room was silent except the soft ticks of the clock on the wall, she didn't know exactly how long she had been by herself but she welcomed the time to think alone. Everything had changed over the past couple of weeks and it had all changed so quickly, she almost didn't know how to handle it.
She sighed heavily as she wrapped her arms around her stomach trying to hug away the dull pain in her stomach but was failing. She wondered why the gang had gone off to find the flower, why they would put their life in danger to save her, someone who had lied constantly to them, someone who was sent to spy on them.
She was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of talking down the corridor, it was too far away to be recognizable, Flora closed her eyes and tried to get some sleep, and without knowing it she dozed off.

Ofelia was sat in her office down the hall looking through all the paper work she had on her student that was led in her private hospital room down the hall. The information was not terrible but was not brilliant either, the only information she knew was that Flora was going to live. She heard talking from down the corridor and knew that it was coming towards her office and she knew who it was and a small smile grew across her face.
A minute or so later she heard a knock at the door and with a soft enter she allowed them access and with that the girls and specialists walked in following Ms Faragonda. "Hello girls I take it that you were successful in your mission?" Without a world Stella held up the potted flower. "Perfect, let's get those petals boiling in the hot water then we can get that to Flora." Ofelia could see in the girls face but more in Helia's that they were dying to ask how Flora was doing and it was eventually Layla who spoke up
"How is Flora?"
Ofelia sighed before answering "She is healing slowly, she is scared, weak and confused. But the iv drip is working, she accidently ripped it out and she got extremely week as I replaced it but she will be okay."
"Can we see her?" Stella asked
"Of course you can just don't over whelm her"
The girls left the office and headed down the corridor towards Flora's room, but as they reached the door they stopped scared to enter suddenly. It was silent for a second and Stella spoke first "come on girls we can do this, we have the flower. I know there was a lot that she had hidden from us but it was for our own good, we know that."
"Your right Stella, we are being stupid, let's go" Musa replied as she slowly opened the door.
As the door opened they saw the bed and the body within in, Flora's back was to the door and they could tell by the shallow breathing that Flora was asleep, as quiet as they could the girls took a seat around the room and waited for the nature fairy to wake. An hour had passed and Flora was starting to stir, a moan came from the bed causing the girls to look at the bed, they saw Flora roll on to her back as her face scrunched up as she carried on sleeping. But a few specks of blood on the sheets alerted them and caused them to panic a little bit. "Is that blood?" Musa asked as she stood up and walked closer to the bed to try and figure out where the blood was coming from. "I can't see where it is coming from" Layla stood to her feet
"I'm going to go get the nurse, she may want to check it out." The girls continued to watch Flora as Layla left the room in search of the adult.
The girls patiently waited for Layla to return with the nurse, and they didn't have to wait long as a second later the Nurse walked in quickly followed by Layla. "So what is the problem girls?" Ofelia asked softly as she walked up to the bed.
"We noticed some blood on the sheets, we don't know where it can from" Bloom replied as she watched the nurse drop her bag.
"Okay let's have a look then shall we, though I have a feeling that I know where it may be coming from."
Ofelia smiled as she lifted up Flora's wrist, the one without the drip and turned it over revealing a small mark in the centre of her wrist which was dripping from blood. "Oh my, what is that? Is she okay?" Stella asked in a panic
"Don't worry girls, she is completely fine. She accidently pulled out her drip so I had to put a new one in her other wrist, the blood is just from the wound, she must have done more damage than I thought" Ofelia examines the wound further before touching it, a sudden shout caused everyone but Ofelia to jump.
"OUCH that hurts"
"I'm sorry Flora, but more damage was done than I thought" Ofelia said as she smiled
"Why can't you leave me alone" Flora groaned as she rolled onto her back not knowing that the Winx was there, her eyes still closed.
Ofelia giggled "because it's my job Flora" she once again touched the corner of the wound causing Flora to shout out again.
"Owwwww, god dammit, that hurts"
"I expect it does" Ofelia smiled. Seeing her friend's discomfort Bloom stood up and walked to the other side of the bed.
"I don't think I have ever heard you swear before" Bloom spoke with a smile on her face causing Flora to snap her head towards the sound her eyes wide open in shock as she saw Bloom's bright blue eyes before she looked around the room seeing the rest of the girls. A smile came to her lips as she led back down on the bed.
She took a deep breath and spoke softly "Hello"
"Hello Flora, how are you doing?" Tecna replied
"I guess I'm doing okay thank you" Flora replied softly
"You are looking better than when we last saw you, still a little pale though" Stella replied trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah but I will get better soon, I hope." Flora's voice quavered at the end of her sentence.
"You will be okay sweetie, we found the flower, the nurse is boiling it now, everything will be okay, and you will heal perfectly." The girls could not contain their smiles as they saw the relieve on Flora's face.
The nurse did smile as she stood up, "the girls are right Flora, I just need to get some butterfly strips to reconnect the wound together and some bandages to help it heal even more. I will be back in a minute." The nurse left the room heading towards her storage cupboard leaving Flora alone with the girls.
"So Flora I told you so, you will be fine." Stella spoke
"Yeah I know, I trusted you guys, it was the only thing that kept me going through the bouts of sickness and pain. For that I thank you." Flora replied with a smile on her face
"Oh Flora you don't need to thank me, your own friend, we would go to hell and back for you." Layla added in.
"But I lied to you"
"To protect yourself and us, we understand Flora and we are still your friends" Stella said with a smile.
The room fell silent again as no one knew what to say, Flora couldn't take the silence and said the first thing that came to her mind "So was it difficult to find the flower, so what happened?"
"Well it was not really that easy, Musa recognized the plant and knew exactly where to find it so that was easy. We spent a couple of day's trekking through the jungle to find the flower. We came to a waterfall and saw the flower on the other side of the pool. Just as we was about to fly over this beast came out of the water, it was tough but we managed to get the flower and leave with all our limbs still intact. And then we came back here." Stella replied "but we got there" Flora nodded and looked at her hands at the story.
Before she had a chance to say anything else the nurse walked back in with a small box in her hand, "found them" Ofelia spoke as she sat back in her chair beside Flora. "Right this is going to sting." Flora grimaced as she looked up at the ceiling.
"I kind of guessed It will" Flora clenched her eyes shut as she felt the nurse clean the wound, she then felt something grab her other hand, and a hand run through her hair.
"We are here Flora and we are not going anywhere" Layla spoke softly, instantly calming Flora.
Flora clenched her eyes as tightly shut as she could as she felt the nurse get to work, stitching the wound back up, the pain dull on her wrist. "Okay all done Flora" Ofelia said as she tidied up the last bits of blood from Flora's wound. "You need to keep that rested, you hear me, if you keep moving I'm going to have to tie you to the bed soon." Ofelia replied with a smile before she walked out of the room, heading back to her office to check on the flower cure.
Tecna sighed as she smiled "What are we going to do with you Flora, you keep getting yourself hurt, we care about you."
"I know girls, I promise you, I won't do anything by myself anymore" Flora replied
"Good, from now on we do everything together, as friends."

Riller walked through the courtyard of Alfea trying to occupy her mind, she knew that the girls was in with Flora and were having a special gathering, after all they were the best of friends and Riller did not want to get in the way of that. The wind bustled through the trees and her hair, causing it to blow slightly, the sound of the wind was always able to calm down her down when her mind was going crazy.
She took a deep breath and sat down on the grass banging her legs to the side as she did, she closed her eyes and led down on her back resting her head on her folded arms. Her eyes were closed and she focused on the wind blowing through her hair, her mind began to run through on what she was going to do in the future. She knew how much she cared for Flora but she also knew she couldn't stay, after everything was finished, she knew she would cause too much of a commotion. She had made her decision, after they were free from the master, she would leave.
The sun had disappeared and clouds had covered the skies, but Riller had not noticed until a drop landed on her leg, she looked up and stared at the sky as more and more raindrops began to fall, harder and harder completely soaking her in a matter of minutes. With a heavy sigh she got to her feet and started to walk back to the school hoping to find warmth and dryness, instead of cold and wet.
She walked through the corridors not really knowing where she was going but was happy all the same to get out of the house. "Gotten lost have you dear?" Riller turned around in the direction in the voice to see the headmistress, Ms Faragonda staring at her smiling softly.
"No I'm not lost, I was just taking a walk and it started to rain." Riller replied
"Ah I see, got caught up in the down fall, well there is no point getting too wet, come dear I have something to show you."
Riller watched as the headmistress walked off through the school, she waited a couple of seconds before following the older lady through the corridors. She tried to take notes of where she was going, trying to remember all the corridors she was being led down. The school setting seemed to change and it turned more sophisticated and her curiosity got the best of her. "Um excuse me but I'm sorry but where are we going?"
"I know that you are not going to leave Flora until all of this is over so I found a room for you, I'm afraid the only room we had was in the teacher's quarters." Just as the headmistress finished talking she stopped in front of a big door. "Well here it is"
Riller looked at the door and then back at the headmistress shock on her face, "Well, why don't you go check it out?" the headmistress spoke before she handed the young woman a key and turning to leave. "We have had the fridge stocked and some clothes ordered for you, you should find everything you should need already in there, have and look around and enjoy." Riller watched the headmistress leave around the corner before putting the key in the lock and unlocking the door.
With a slightly shaking hand she pushed the door open and her face fell as she saw the room, she immediately saw a giant living area. There was two sofa's in front of a fire with a giant television hanging on the chimney above it, there was an open plan kitchen to the left, all fixed with modern appliances. There was a door to the right of the room which Riller guessed lead to the bedroom, she entered the room closing and locking the latch on the door behind her before she walked over to the door hoping to see the bedroom.
Riller opened the door and gasped in shock as she laid her eyes upon her sleeping quarters, there was a giant king sized bed in the middle of the room with red silk sheets, to the left of the bed was a giant dresser with a wardrobe either side, covering the whole wall in storage facilities, against the back wall was a desk with a television and dvd player on the edge. There were a few shelves on the wall beside the bed, with a variety of books and cd's on, along with a music system. She looked to the right to see another door. She made her way over to the door and opened it to reveal a gorgeous bathroom, there was a giant bathtub in the middle of the room that was the same size as a small Jacuzzi, and Riller began to think that it was a Jacuzzi, to the left of the tub was the hand basin and toilet and to the right stood a giant walk in shower, which looked big enough to fit right into a school gym.
She stood there her mouth wide open and her eyes big in shock, never had she seem a room so beautiful she was used to low cost bed and breakfasts and her cell like room back at the base. She walked over to the bed and sat down in awe, "Wow" she whispered to herself. Yes she knew that she could get used to this. But the thought still remained in her head, she knew they were coming it was just a matter of when.
