Chapter 15: Let's Go Back
After hours of wandering the harsh unknown wastelands, our protagonist Rito Yuuki started to question why he felt neither hungry nor thirsty… must be some weird intergalactic, inter-dimensional thing… a new fad maybe? His thoughts were bored as he tried to keep himself entertained in one way or another in the desolate landscape. The land looked the same as before, the monotonous sandy wastelands complimented by the grass green skies; the ruins of building were the only real change in any kind of scenery. Dust from the ground had coalesced in different parts of Rito's clothing; in spite of the weak wind, dust flew easily into the sky like feathers. With his hands outstretched, the dust coalesced into a small-ball of swirling sand. Oooh, nice… anything can be manipulated if you have the ability I guess, Rito thought as he stared at the ball of sand. His 'fun-time' with the sand ball was cut short as a dark sludge started to rise from the ground slowly, slowly taking form into a humanoid shape. Rito could only swear under his breath as he jumped up and saw at least four of these dark humanoid creatures; putting his arms out straight, he shot out a concentrated beam of light that sliced through the ground and one of the creatures who was closest to him.
"You know, I'd really appreciate it if you guys didn't appear out of nowhere and try to mince me up- it's bad manners…" Rito said, taking in a deep breath as he looked at the emotionless masses; their glances reflecting nothing. The silence was deafening, as well as awkward. Wait a second… Rito's eyes narrowed as he sensed a disturbance in the air, which was now crackling with electricity. That is definitely our exit ticket… Rito thought as he put both his hands out, causing all the dust to explode, hindering vision (well, Rito hoped it did), as Rito himself ran towards the direction of the electrical disturbance.
After only a few minutes of running, Rito had already reached the portal back to home… and so had a lot of the 'shadows', which he had only realised as he skidded into the area (he had managed to trip on a lone brick).
"Ow, damn, this is like the worst place to trip up and fall…" he commented with a sigh as he got up and wiped himself of any dust. All the creatures were now staring at him. "Uhmm… uhh…" he thought for a second, scratching at his head, "Can we be friends?" Rito finally asked with a desperate smile.
Where the end of the tunnel or portal isn't always important- what matters is that you as a person are nearing the end of the journey. Stepping out face first into the ground, Rito got up from his second fall in like the last five minutes; he had ran and shoved his way past the 'shadows' like a rugby player, before diving head first into the concrete ground. Recounting the last few moments, it made him smirk; hehe, 'that was just brilliant movement from the man', he thought in his mind as his mind mimicked a football commentator's voice. As he started taking in the environment around more and more, his steps became slower and slower, until he stopped completely. Well, I'm definitely back on Earth, but the lockers, showers, and cold floor definitely remind me of a changing room… and that bra hanging at the sid- oh shi- his thoughts were cut off as the door in front of him opened, letting in a large group of girls, who all stopped when they noticed him. Some of them looked familiar. In the awkward exchange, he tried to whistle and nonchalantly shuffle past the females; it was nearly successful until he felt a strong grip on his hoodie. "Oh come on, surely this wasn't my fault- this was beyond my control!" Rito said defensively as his arms flailed around… until they grabbed onto something… something soft… this seems slightly familiar, and isn't a bad size at all- wait what am I talking about it?!
"I wouldn't feel so annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that you're grabbing onto me in a very inappropriate manner…" a familiar white-haired girl said with malice as her eyes turned red and the veins in her body bulged (disturbing image for anyone, particularly Rito).
"Can't we just celebrate the fact that I'm back, Viktoria?" Rito pleaded, making a cross sign with his fingers.
"… Oh we're celebrating… we're playing the 'beat the piñata' game… and you're the piñata…" Viktoria smirked while she cracked her knuckles.
After so long, hi guys; this has been a somewhat unforeseen absence. Unfortunately, year 11 has been very mentally taxing, and I have found that I have to do tons of revision and mock tests at school. The real exams themselves are around 5-6 months away- funny how a few hours can possibly decide our lives. Anyways, it has been mentally taxing, and my mind just hasn't been up to do anything that requires more than minimal thinking (unless it is schoolwork or drawing or guitar). To answer any further questions, please PM me, and yeah, my stories will be a bit erratic in their updates- sorry about that. I'm happy to get a chapter out after so long- sorry for the wait, hope you enjoy and leave me a review if you can, thanks!
