Chapter 19: Curiosity

Rito woke up to the sounds of birds chirping in the morning; he could tell it was early because the sunlight was not as prominent as usual. The weak sunlight created long shadows across the surroundings and also brought attention to the snowmelt that was solely fixed on the Yuuki household.

"By the way Momo, you really need to stop attacking me in my sleep…" Rito turned around and said to the covered sleeping figure in the bed with his arms crossed. Not hearing a reply, he uncovered the bed sheets, to discover a sleeping Mikasa figure- seeing her in his bed was somewhat better than Momo, but it still wasn't a good thing.

"Oi Rito, play some games with me!" Nana opened Rito's door holding a DS without any warning followed by an excited Celine. Both Rito and Nana looked at Mikasa's sleeping figure and each other for a few moments in silence.

"This is one of the scenarios where it definitely isn't what it looks like…" Rito put up his hands in defence as Nana's face started to contort.

"Hentai lolicon lecher!" she shouted in response as Rito ran from his room to avoid getting beaten up.

The temperature was progressively warmer in the afternoon so that even wearing a half-sleeved shirt was like wearing too many layers. There were no clouds in the clear sky as an orange-haired boy gazed deeply into the sky with his friend- his face however, was less at peace sporting a red hand mark across it.

"Damn Rito, she must have slapped you good if it's still there now, haha," his friend Saruyama commented with a small smirk.

"But, I still hate you! How the hell do you manage to get so many girls without even trying… think of all the other boys in the class- they deserve a chance!" Saruyama continued, his comical jealousy portrayed clearly by his words.

"Hey don't blame me man, I don't know how it happens either!" Rito said defensively. The glare of the Sun was blocked amidst the conversation by a figure joining them; the figure was of a slim, lean build and exhibited blonde-white flowing hair, which was of high quality just like the owner.

"I'd prefer it if you didn't block the sunlight- last I checked, you're not a parasol," Rito stated glancing at the figure.

"Plus, I thought sunlight was bad for you?" Rito continued getting up to his feet.

"It's fine, don't worry- and I'll ignore that first comment," a low female voice replied as Viktoria glanced at Saruyama very quickly.

"Yeah, what's up?" Rito casually asked.

"Lala wants to speak to you, so I came to pass on the message," she replied equally casually, pointing downwards. To his right, Rito could notice Saruyama's eyebrows slightly curving inwards and his mouth started to drool. Wow! That's a definite way to scare off any girl regardless of what she is! Rito thought with a shake of the head.

"Viktoria-sama!" Saruyama shouted in a creepy manner; normally when Rito referred to Viktoria in that way, she would respond awkwardly to it, however in this case, she just looked like she was grossed out. In fact, the light kick she sent to his legs was a demonstration of how she felt. Rather than being annoyed or hurt by it, Saruyama depicted a more unusual response.

"Hit me more, Viktoria-sama!" he shouted, his face turning redder as if he was enjoying something more. Both Rito and Viktoria's faces looked freaked out this time around.

"Wow, that Saruyama really is something… who'd have thought he was a masochist?" Rito said shaking his head as he glanced at the blonde girl walking next to him.

"Although… you looked like you were starting to enjoy it as well…" Rito added, his eyebrows raised. Viktoria's face changed very quickly into a light blush.

"It's not anything like that!" she replied very quickly as she turned her face away.

"Yeah, I'm just joking with you- what did Lala want with me?" Rito asked with curiosity as he turned the corner.

"To be honest Rito, I don't really know- or I might have forgotten…" she replied sheepishly.

"Well, doesn't matter, she's over there anyways," Rito said shrugging his shoulders; Lala was just ahead of where they were walking, and she was talking to Yuka- both were wearing casual clothes but it wouldn't be a surprise for them to attract onlookers from their looks.

"Lala, what's up?" Rito said as they met up with the two girls; both Lala's and Yuka's face lit up as Rito joined into the conversation, although this wasn't apparent to our dense protagonist.

"Rito! Basically, my parents want to talk to you personally- my mum will be there as well!" Lala said excitedly said as the group started to walk.

"Oh yeah, sure…" Rito replied with curiosity; hmm… normally there's a good reason Lala's dad wants to talk to me- especially if there are both parents, it must be important, Rito mused as he looked upwards to the sky once more.

Hi everyone, here is another chapter. From here on, it'll be slightly more 'interesting' and serious (so more action, supernatural etc.). I think I'll probably ending this story in the next few chapters so yeah. Thanks for reading/support and until next time!
