"Both of you shut up! We're gonna get…"
A light flashed in our faces. The three of us stared at it like a deer when it stares at a car's headlights.
"Caught…" Niko muttered and shook his head as BLU's offense surrounded us.
"YOU really THOUGHT you COULD SNEAK in HERE and STEAL the INTEL?!" A Soldier barked at us as Niko rolled his eyes at me and Aya.
Aya backed up and tried to leave the corridor that we had entered, but a couple Pyros grabbed her and held her down.
"Shit! Let go of me!" Aya squirmed under the weight of the two Pyros until one brought an axe to her neck. Aya gulped and stopped struggling.
"If any of you resist or move, this gal gets her head slowly removed." One of BLU's Demomen smirked and pointed to Aya, who was shivering in fear, still under the weight of the Pyros.
"T-This is insane! Y-You guys are lunatics! Completely mental!" I yelled as a few BLU members closed in on me and Niko. Something hit the back of my head, which caused me to black out.
I couldn't see when I woke up. I tried to look around in my dark cell.
"N-Niko? A-Aya?" I called into the darkness, hoping to find my Scout teammates.
Silence fell and I hung my head. Were Niko and Aya killed? Finally I heard a grunt and a muffled groan that sounded like Niko.
"Ah… ow, my head… again… dammit, why is it my head that's always injured…?" Niko muttered, shuffling around in the dark.
"Niko! Over here!" I called out, feeling blood slip down my face and head.
"Is that Adrian?" Niko called out into the darkness.
"Yes! I'm over here!" I called back before I passed out again.
When I awoke a second time, I felt something warm at my side.
"N-Niko?" I blinked in the darkness.
"Oh, you're awake, Adrian, thank god. I thought you were out for good." Niko's voice sounded from next to my body.
"N-Niko…" My hand searched around in the darkness before finding his.
"I'm alright… I just…"
Niko put a finger to my lips. "Don't try to talk, save your strength…"
I felt my face grow hot and nodded, although Niko couldn't see me.
A few moments passed, and I felt well enough to sit up. Niko helped me and soon I was leaning against a wall.
"How are you feeling, Adrian?" Niko asked, his voice a whisper.
"Ugh… I could be better… What about you?" I asked, hearing Niko sit beside me.
"I'm fine." He quickly replied, obviously lying.
"Is something bothering you?" I ask, blinking.
Niko sighed. "I'm just tired of all of this. Tired of fighting BLU, tired of being hurt, and tired of being captured…"
I nodded even though Niko couldn't see me. "I agree. I really am fed up with all of this. Why do 21 year olds even need to fight in a hopeless war? What's the purpose of this? Why do we-"
I was cut off by the sound of footsteps. A torch's light shined in on us.
I could finally catch a glimpse of my surroundings. Niko was sitting next to me, against the left wall. There were jail cell like bars in front of us. The cell itself was a grayish color.
"So you two are finally awake? Too bad, I thought my bat would of killed ya. Guess I should of hit ya harder."
I looked up. Staring at me, smirking, was a BLU Scout.
"Damn, looks like I failed to kill ya, again." The Scout pointed his bat at me.
Something clicked in my brain and I instantly jumped to my feet.
"You! You're that Scout that broke my ankle! You're the one who I met on the train!"
Anger seethed within me as I grabbed onto the cell bars.
"You mother fucking bastard. You fucking son of a bitch. You're the reason everything is hell!"
The Scout smirked. "Oh look, this one here is all talk, but can't even do anything." He threw his head back and laughed.
Niko looked at me, still clinging onto the cell bars, to the Scout taunting me. "What do you want, anyways, you stinkin' BLU?" Niko growled.
"Is that anyway ta talk in your position?" The Scout dropped his bat and pulled out his Scattergun and pointed it at Niko's head. "Now, if this monkey hanging here cooperates, you won't get harmed. Understood?" BLU's Scout pointed at me with his free hand.
My eyes widened. Seeing Niko dead was the last thing I wanted. "...Don't harm him…" I let go of the cell bars and dropped my hands to my sides.
