Author's Note: Apparently my word counting was off or something. Chapter 6 is the longest chapter. So 13 was actually really hard to write. I'm not used to writing dramatic stories or dialouge. Also, I barely know any German, so I'm assuming I got some names wrong or something.

As the group of medics surrounded me, Aya, and the unconscious Niko, BLU's Sniper decided to try to snipe us again. Aiming his rifle, he activated the scope…

Bam. One Medic was shot clear in the head. Bam. Another Medic fell to the ground, dead. The remaining Medics stared wide eyed at their dead comrades as one after another were sniped dead. Four out of nine Medics remained. Blood was splattered all over the place, including on Niko, me, and Aya.

One of the Medics quickly swung me over his shoulder and another grabbed Aya and dove into the base, leaving the other two Medics to grab Niko and bring him into the base next to us. They set him on the floor next to me.

"Ve need backup!" The Medic set me down on the base's floor and yelled into a radio he pulled out of his pocket. Moments later, a female Spy appeared.

"You need me?" Tori asked, flipping a butterfly knife in her hand.

The Medic nodded. "Vou know vat vou must do."

"Hai. Of course." Cloaking herself, Tori rushed out into the night.

A few silent moments passed before a yelp came from outside. I dashed outside to check on the noise, when I saw a body fall out of the window on BLU's side of 2Fort. The body hit the ground with a soft thud and didn't move. A few more moments passed and Tori uncloaked behind me. I jumped and nearly hit her in the face.

"Be careful, Adrian-san, or you'll reopen your wounds." Tori softly spoke to me, before walking back into our base. I followed suit.

The Medics blinked and carefully picked up Niko in their arms. As they carried him through the building, I saw his face one last time. A simple, relaxed face; It almost looked like he was… dead… I started thinking about what would happen if he did die, and felt my eyes grow wet. Next thing I knew, I was crying with my face in my hands on the floor of RED's base.

"Oi, Adrian, what's wrong?" Aya squatted next to me and tried to place her hand on my shoulder. I quickly swatted it away.

"SHUT UP. This is all your fault! If you weren't so fucking immature, Niko wouldn't be hurt like this… no, both of us wouldn't have been hurt! If you weren't with us, we wouldn't have been captured, since you're so fucking loud and obnoxious!" Rage started to join my sadness; all I wanted to do was cry and punch something.

My feelings of rage started to vanish as Aya's eyes turned dark. As she sat next to me, she mumbled a few words, her head lowered.

"I'm sorry I'm so immature… I've seen a lot of people be killed in front of my face and I knew that if I experienced this hell, my teammates would experience it too. I'd have to change my attitude. Not just for me, but for everyone else suffering. I decided to become more carefree and chipper, just so my teammates didn't have to suffer. I became the jester, just to make their lives better."

Aya's voice cracked as she gripped her skirt. Tears began falling from her eyes and soon she was crying.

I drooped my shoulders. I was always so mean to Aya, I never realized how much the poor girl was suffering. I couldn't say anything to her. I just sat on the floor, listening to her sobs. Finally, after what seemed like an hour, Aya turned to one of the remaining Medics, her face red and puffy from crying.

"Medics… can you check on Adrian's injuries?" Aya asked as she rose to her feet, shaking and wobbling. A Medic walked over to Aya and picked her up.

"Ja. Ve vill take both of vou to the infirmary." He walked off, carrying Aya, who was now trying to keep her eyes open.

The second Medic walked over to me and held out his hand for me to take.

"Come now, fräulein, vou must receive treatment vor vour vounds."

Shaking, I stood up, but I didn't take the Medic's hand. My fear of doctors came back after I experienced that inhumane Medic back in BLU's base.

Tori noticed this and walked over to us, placing a hand on the Medic's shoulder.

"I'll take Adrian-san to the infirmary, you should go help out your comrades."

The Medic nodded, "very vell, fräulein Spy." He walked off, every now and then looking back at me and Tori.

"Well, he was easy to persuade!" Tori laughed, "I thought I'd have to actually tell him that you're afraid of doctors." Her smile faded as she looked at me.

I was glancing at the ground with my head lowered.

"Why… why did this have to happen…?" Tears filled my eyes and I buried my face in Tori's body, crying.

I awoke the next afternoon in the infirmary. As I rubbed my eyes, I noticed a clear tube in my arm. I followed it with my eyes to an IV drip. As I laid there, confused, a Medic came over to me. I recognized this Medic. This was the Medic who treated my ankle when it was broken.

"Guten morgen, fräulein Scout." He held out his hand for me to shake, "although I really should say guten tag." He chuckled for a few moments at his own joke. I raised an eyebrow at him, obviously not understanding German.

"I've never introduced myself. Hallo, ich heiße Davidu."

I blinked a few times.

"Um… doctor, I'm sorry, but I don't understand German…" I apologized quickly as the Medic looked at me like a gaping fish.

"Unglaublich, but vour name, is it not German?"

I thought about my name's origins for a bit.

"I don't know, sir."

The Medic looked at me, still surprised. "Vell. I'll tell vou my name in English then. My name is David."

"Ah, it's nice to meet you, David." I smiled at David.

"Ja, the pleasure is all mine." David smiled back.

"You know… you're not bad for a doctor…" I muttered to myself, but apparently David heard me and chuckled.

"Vour not bad vourself, fräulein Scout. Much more polite than ze other Scouts here."

We both laughed, but it fell short when the infirmary door crashed open and a single RED Scout ran into the room.

"Doc, c'mon man, you gotta hide me, he's after me and-" The Scout stopped midsentence and looked at me. "Well, hello beautiful. I'd uh… ask ya to share a bucket of chicken with me, but I'm kinda runnin' for my life here."

The Scout started freaking out when he heard footsteps and quickly dove under my bed.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" I asked, positioning myself so I could peer under the bed.

"Uh. Nothin' pally. Nothin' at all. Listen, could you uh… sit back up? I don't want him findin' me."

I rolled my eyes and laid in my bed; as soon as I did, the infirmary door swung open again as a RED Soldier crashed his way through it.

"Where is that MAGGOT?!" The Soldier exclaimed, carrying his Rocket Launcher in one hand, his bald head shining from the lights in the infirmary.

David was starting to catch on to what the Scout was talking about and faked a smile.

"Ah, Herr Soldier, vat can I do for vou?" David asked, in a sweet voice, obviously faking it.

"That maggot stole my helmet! When I get my hands on him, he'll wish he was DEAD!" The Soldier tried to look David in the eyes, but had some difficulty since David was a lot taller than him.

"Have vou tried looking in vour locker, Herr Soldier?" David asked, stifling a laugh.

There was silence for a moment followed by a short "no" coming from the Soldier.

The Soldier looked at David once again. "You deserve a medal, doc!" He happily replied, whacking David on the back, causing David to wince in pain. The Soldier saluted David, turned, and marched out of the infirmary.

Making sure the Soldier was gone, the Scout crawled out from under my bed.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks." He turned to leave before David stopped him.

"Hold it, Herr Scout, vou must explain vourself."

The Scout groaned and sat down on the edge of my bed, with not even bothering to say "excuse me." I rolled my eyes, moving my feet. Maybe David was right about the other Scouts being bad mannered.

"Yeah yeah, get this. I went ta grab Washington's helmet while he was nappin', just for a joke, but the big brute grabbed his Rocket Launcher and started chasing me. I swear I was gonna die, doc, until I passed the infirmary and-."

"Can he afford to take a nap?" I interrupted, which I admit, was rather rude of me, but I didn't really care at this point.

"Eets cease fire right now, fräulein Scout. Eets Saturday."

"Saturday?! How long was I asleep for?!" I suddenly sat up, making the IV drip wobble violently. It wobbled once more before toppling over and hitting the Scout sitting on my bed in the head.

David and I both stared at the Scout as he yelped. David broke into laughter as I quickly apologized over and over again.

The Scout angrily stood up and sat the IV drip upright.

"Ya know what? I'ma keep that chicken. Ya blew your chance, pally!" The Scout glared at me like he was going to punch me or something before muttering, "I can't hit a girl," and jogged out of the infirmary.

"I DON'T EVEN LIKE FRIED CHICKEN!" I yelled after him as the infirmary doors swung shut.

"Vou don't like das hühnchen?" David asked, making sure the IV drip was set up straight.

"I'm going to assume that means chicken, and well, I'm fine with chicken in general, just none of that Kentucky Fried Chicken crap." I glanced at David who was now looking around the infirmary. "What's up?"

"Oh, nothing, just making sure no one heard zat. We have herr Engineers from Kentucky, so I'm making sure vou don't insult anyone."

"Oh."

David finished checking on the IV drip before turning to me, "fräulein Scout, I'm going to check vour injuries now.

I sighed, "Okay, doctor…"

After David finished checking on my injuries, and bandaging up some of the more severe ones, he sat on the edge of my bed.

"What's up?" I asked, trying to sit up.

"I vas just thinking vhy vou three Scouts would do something so dangerous. Sneaking into BLU's base could have killed vou three." David sighed and turned to face me.

"Wait, could have? That means…"

"Ja, vour male Scout friend is alive."

I instantly climbed out of bed, the IV drip wobbling once again. "Where is he? Are you sure he's alive?"

"Ja, I vill show vou, but make sure vou are ready. It's a very gruesome sight."

I didn't care, I just wanted to see Niko. Seeing my determined face, David pulled back the curtain around my bed. I gasped and nearly puked from the sight. Blood was staining Niko's body and the bed he was laying on; bits of flesh were torn away in various places around his body.

"Ve had to cut avay his skin. The syringes vere in too deeply to pull out." A second Medic walked over to Niko's unconscious body. "Of course ve vill bandage up the vounds. Ve are doktors avter all. This new Medic pulled on a pair of fresh gloves. "Vou must ve the other fräulein Scout. There vas another one here a while ago, she didn't have serious injuries so ve bandaged her and dismissed her."

I'm assuming this Medic was talking about Aya. I looked down at the floor. How was Aya taking this situation? She had broken down in front of me before we were admitted to the infirmary.

A cough sounded from a bed next to Niko's and both Medics turned to the person now sitting up with their leg in a cast.

"Honestly, that Aya was so much trouble. I'm actually relatively amazed that BLU didn't kill her." Alice giggled and then her eyes focused on me.

"Adrian! Good to see you. How are you doing?" The blonde Scout asked, smiling.

"Eh, could be better…" I pointed to my IV drip and Alice's eyes narrowed.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I forgot you were with Aya that night…" Alice looked away from me and the two Medics.

I walked over to Alice, taking my IV drip with me. I then sat on the edge of her bed and placed my bandaged hand over hers.

"It's okay. I'm really amazed none of us were killed either." I took a glance at the medical tray next to Niko's bed and shuddered. Syringes covered with blood and skin were sitting far away from scalpels, medical scissors and other tools.

"Gross, isn't it? I couldn't even stomach it the first time I saw it."

I turned my attention back to Alice who nodded at my expression.

"Yeah… excuse me while I throw up."

David handed me a bucket, which I instantly threw up in. After David collected the bucket and emptied its contents into the bathroom toilet, he spoke.

"Over 100 syringes vere in herr Scout's body," David looked at me and continued, "ve discovered that they vere causing his fever."
