Hector's new playmate
'Rangeman Style'
a/n a hint of a sexual tryst…after all its hector and he has a thing for jomo right?
When Hector was younger, and discovered his sexuality as all young kids do. He found he was most comfortable being bisexual. All bets were off when it came to Morelli, it was like a game of cat and mouse that he wanted to enjoy, albeit in a cell at the Trenton prison, but enjoy it he did.
When Morelli finally became 'aware of his surroundings,' he screamed loud enough to bring the guards running. It only took about ten minutes for them to show up is all. They were not in a hurry; screams could be heard all the time in prison.
Everyone knew what he had done and on an innocent little girl at that. Why bother to see what was up anyway?
Which is how Deanna, the Warden saw it. Let the man pay any which way he could. She grinned at what she was seeing on her new monitor, given to her for the duration of the 'BREAK MORELLI DOWN' show. She just hoped they would let her keep it.
Banging his hands on the metal table that was bolted down in his cell, making all kinds of fuss, she timed it right and after ten minutes, the guards of Binkie and Manny appeared, as if they worked there. For Morelli, they did, not his cellmates anymore but his own personal version of hell in the prison.
He screamed when he saw the men. Weren't they his cellmates he just left? He never got their names; he thought he knew them personally. They looked exactly like the men he had in his cell, he was sure of it.
"DID" pause "did' stuttering the words, seeing the vision in front of him, caused Joe to hyperventilate and since he had no one telling him 'breathe in breathe out,' he fainted at the sight of the guards, banging his head on the corner of the metal table on the way down. Hearing the smack of his head on the hard cement was perfect for Manny and Binkie. They left him there, strolling back into Hector's cell next door and went back to playing cards silently.
Hector's cell had been reinforced with soundproofed walls; these things happen quickly if you dealt with Rangeman at all, once Carlos makes up his mind, things happen.
Pretty damn quick.
Joe started stirring in his cell and when he awoke he was met by his worst nightmare, (next to Hector he was going to find out) standing in front of him. Binkie and Manny were standing by her side, one on each as Joe came awake. They were starting the 'break Morelli down' plan first thing, wanting to keep him off balance. Neither of the men was talking to him, just staring him down. Letting him feel uncomfortable in his skin, before mealtime, not to mention, "Shower time", everyone knew Hector was flaunching at the bit to get some more of Morelli; they were giving him hell about already.
"Ah, I see my newest prisoner is finally awake. Well Mr. #678945, how does it feel to be locked up for the next couple of decades of your life? You should know that number. The moment you entered my house, you became a number only.Know that number, memorize that number; it's your number for mail call, for meals in your cellblock, whatever you need, that number is now your name. UNDERSTOOD?"
Prisoner #678945 just nodded his head, 'what the hell did he do that was so wrong?' Morelli was thinking to himself," Jesus he admitted to everyone, especially his 'cupcake' that he did in fact attack her, he did spray paint all over the place, and yeah he did brag about her to the guys on base, but surely this can't be from that and this wasn't happening to him, right?"
Joe still couldn't believe what Stephanie had said about getting married; she wouldn't do that to him, would she?
And since Morelli had his own guards, so to speak, the shower room would be free, who knew what could happen in there, right?
At dinnertime; which was four o'clock, found #678945 eating his sandwich of some unidentified type of meat, he thought and a glass of water, he saw someone had spit in his water, he refused to drink that and lifting up his bread, he saw a substance on it, but was too hungry to care; he ate that.
He was slowly coming to the realization that maybe what he said on the stand was wrong; he never should have gotten up on the stand, just let it happen, maybe he made it worse by admitting it, he was muttering to himself.
Then he was given thirty minutes in the shower, he had to take one, it was mandatory. Hygiene first after all. The heat from the building made Morelli WANT to take a cold shower. He never felt Hector slide up behind him.
Screams were heard. Binkie and Manny just knuckle bumped and heard 'cupcake' over and over again.
Seeing Hector walk out of the shower, a big smile on his face, let the team know the night was just beginning to take shape. #678945 came out of the shower room in pain. Morelli said, "I KNOW YOU, both of you, and I know that man, where did he go? I want to press charges on him, what kind of person does that to someone?" The Warden just looked at Morelli and shook her head.
Manny and Binkie wanted to say 'YOU DO' or even 'LOOK IN THE MIRROR' but were under orders not to talk to Morelli at all.
#678945 limped into his cell, escorted by his personal guards, hobbling over to his bunk. He would find out, the lights stayed on all night, just a little dimmer. He was a quivering mass of a man, scared to death of something else happening to him, 'WHAT DID I DO TO MYSELF?'
He threw his arm up over his eyes, trying to get his heart rate down after what he just went through.
After about ten minutes or so, he heard it; softly the words came out, 'cupcake' then a pause, 'cupcake', Morelli thought he was hearing things.
It had sounded like his own voice talking, which made him sit up on his bunk, slowly still in pain. He hobbled over to the door, not being able to see a thing out the small window. No one was there. He thought, what was going on?
Gingerly he climbed back onto the cot, He couldn't lay down right, he never thought how ironic being on his hands and knees looked. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do. Little did he know Hector and Manny was watching his every move. Binkie was on Hector's bunk, snoring away lightly while the other two had the pleasure of driving prisoner #678945 insane and being paid for it.
All through the night, Joe heard 'cupcake' over and over again.
Joe started to realize his hell was just beginning.
Over the next few weeks, the torture continued. Joe was losing his mind more and more everyday and Hector was enjoying his playtime. A little too much, everyone started thinking.
The Warden had set up a little one on one time with prisoner #678945. She had talked to Carlos and told him of her plan, to drive him a bit crazier. He agreed with her, so she set it into motion.
Joe was escorted into the Wardens office for her 'little' talk. 'Well, how do you like your accommodations?' The Warden asked. Not letting him answer her, she went on to tell him of life outside of the prison walls. How well Stephanie was getting on with her life, now that he was behind bars. How Carlos had proposed to her and that, they were planning a wedding.
At the time that Stephanie had blurted out to Joe, that she and Carlos were getting married, he had yet to propose. That was ok with him though, since it would be happening in few days.
A couple of days after the trial, Frank and Angie had everyone over to celebrate the ending of the trial. It was at that time that Carlos decided he would propose. Stephanie had come a long way just in a few days after hearing the guilty verdict. It was as if she had come out of her shell and was feeling secure finally. They had gone out on one of their many walks, holding hands. They were walking and talking about their future, when he did it.
Getting down on one knee, looking into her face, tears running down Stephanie's face as she realized what he was doing. He said Stephanie," you have become my life, I have loved you, even before we met. When we met, I knew I could never live without you. I want to be by your side for as long as you will let me. Will you marry me?", slipping the ring on her finger.
Stephanie, by the time Carlos was done talking, was nodding her head, tears running down her face and almost yelling YES to him. Hearing Stephanie's voice being raised, everyone came running and saw a sight that had them all shouting with joy. Everyone saw the ring at the same time. Hugs were given all around.
The Warden had related the story to Joe.
Joe was getting angrier with every word about Stephanie. Manny and Binkie was nearby, incase this put him over the top. His mind was going; the nights and days of him, hearing 'cupcake' was making him indeed 'MAD.'
Meanwhile, Helen was not dealing with reality at all anymore. She told the love story of her and Anthony Sr, over and over to 'Stephanie/Jennifer' each time they had met for therapy. Trying to get her 'out of denial and into reality,' was something even Jennifer realized she might not be able to fix. By now, Helen was dusting the furniture on the ward where she lived, it didn't matter whose furniture it was. Hell, it could be anyone's, it had been dusted.
Each and every day, Helen was nothing if not OCD about cleaning. She was given chores to do around the ward just like others and hers was the dusting. She also folding the never-ending pile of 'her company's' towels and the rags everyone used to clean with.
She was a fussbudget, Jennifer found out. Everything had its place and was in place, in Helen 'Morelli's' point of view. She remembered being married to Frank at times, then there were times that she never remembered she had married him. Those times were rare lately.
All she thought and believed most of the time now, was that she had married Anthony Morelli Sr.
Medicine was introduced to Helen, valium to start with at 5mg per day, it kept her in a 'happy state' even when she was in therapy talking about her 'other life.' Some days she was coherent enough that she remembered being Mrs. Frank Plum.
Jennifer felt that if Frank came for a visit maybe that would jolt Helen back to the here and now. Jennifer had Angie and Frank both come to her office for background information on Helen and her obsession with the Senior Morelli.
After hearing how Angie was abused and sexually assaulted all those years ago and Helen wanting to switch places with her had her even more curious about Helen.
Jennifer had asked and Frank had agreed to see her.
Angie would watch, through a one-way mirror. Jennifer was present in Helen's room talking, when Helen heard a tapping on the door and 'Stephanie's' request, she went to answer it, there stood Frank, right in front of her.
Mouth agape, Helen looked into Frank's eyes, recognition dawned, but only for a moment as her own were narrowing as she said to her former husband. 'Frank, Anthony isn't home right now and doesn't like for people to come over when he isn't here, can you come back later please?'
Helen started balling up the dusting cloth in her hand, then smoothing it out over and over again. One of the signs that Helen was at the end of her rope for the day and it was only eleven in the morning.
Jennifer said, 'Helen, I'm sure Anthony would understand if Frank had at least a drink of water, after all he is your friend, right?' Helen wouldn't move from the doorway, glaring at Frank, she was blocking Frank completely.
'That's all right Helen, I can come back some other time,"Frank told his former wife. With that, he left. Back to the meeting room where his wife 'Angie' was waiting for him, arms outstretched. It was hard on Frank to see Helen in this state of mind. Frank and Angie had walked out after talking to Jennifer about Helen's prognosis, which wasn't good. She recommended long-term care and didn't think she would ever be able to leave, unless Helen finally accepted reality.
Frank and Angie had the money from the sale of the former Plum home and gave it all for her maintenance there, they didn't want a penny of it. They knew they could keep it and just let the state pay, but she was Val and Stephanie's mother after all. Although Stephanie could care less, it made Valerie happy. So as long as she needed the care, she would be comfortable.
Carlos and Stephanie had started talking about the wedding. Where is was going to be, deciding in the backyard of their new home that was now about half way complete; who they wanted in the wedding party, deciding on a small wedding with just a best man and Maid of Honor. Stephanie wanted Ella, since she had helped her, didn't hurt that she was now married to her godfather Joe Juniak. Carlos had asked Tank, they had known each other the longest.
Since the rape, Stephanie didn't hang out like most kids anymore. Even with all the progress over the last few weeks, she didn't like going out.
Carlos had taken Stephanie out to dinner to celebrate, though. They went to Newark, to a great little Cuban restaurant, out of the way and out of the eyes of Trenton.
Stephanie's love of food, showed that night, Carlos had to keep adjusting himself.
During their date, they talked about her feelings regarding sex. Carlos told her it wasn't going to be sex, when they finally did it. They would be 'making love.' (That had caused her to blush a nice shade of pink.) That also had her asking if he was upset that he wouldn't be her first now? He replied honestly and told her, yes it did bother him, just not the way she thought.
Carlos told her that what had him upset was how her innocence was taken from her.
Each wondered how long it would be before they were able to make love to each other.
a/n last chapter is tomorrow, once again not ours. Damnit.
