Disclaimer; I don't own any of the characters of Twilight... Stephanie does...*sigh*
Hey hey! Sorry everyone I haven't posted in like a billion years. I had a stage in my life where everything was just going downhill and haven't had the motivation or the ideas to continue writing. But here I am! once again, continuing this story... and hopefully finishing it soon, and without all of you waiting for a really long again. I know how it feels waiting for a chapter update ;).
Bella's POV
As soon as I finished explaining what had happened when Emmett came over, Rose exclaimed. "Gosh! I'm so stupid!"
I knew that Rosalie had a history of bad break-ups and equally bad boyfriends, especially Royce King. He was the worst, and it was one of the darkest stages of Rose's life. It was hard for her to trust anyone, let alone guys.
Rosalie's pacing was disturbed with a loud knock on the door. Both our head snapped up to look at the door, I was the first to take the move. As soon as I opened the door, I saw a very tired Emmett standing by the door.
I shouted back into the room, "Umm.. Rose, I'm gunna go get some breakfast... I'll see you in a bit."
I ran back into my bedroom to quickly put my sundress on, and as I was leaving, I was greeted by the sight of Rose and Emmett attacking each other's faces. I barely got out the door before the groaning and moaning started to happen. Urgh... That's never going to be erased from my memory bank.
I entered the dining room and saw Edward gazing into the distance, lost in his own thoughts. As I approached him, his attention drew back to me, grinning as I made my way towards him.
Conversation flowed naturally for us, later that day. Edward took my out to explore the little town we stopped at, we held hands, shared ice-cream, it was all a bit cliche, but nevertheless very sweet. We had the day to ourselves, there were no interruptions as I knew Rose was... preoccupied. We got to know each other better.
We were able to find this small diner where we happily talked more about our friends and family. Edward was such a gentleman, opening doors and pulling out seats. What I found the most amusing was the glares he gave to our waiter whenever he come around. After we ate, Edward caught me admiring a dream catcher from a small shop across the road, and under much protest he even bought it for me.
We then slowly made our way back the cruise ship, and for some reason, my heart started to sink. I guess I was hoping this day would never end. Just before we arrived at the ship, Edward and I found a small clearing where we laid down next to each other. I starred blankly up to the sky before turing to towards him. "Edward"
"Hmmm"
"What happened with you and Tanya?
He hesitated a bit, "It's... complicated."
I gave him a reassuring smile. "I'm sure I can keep up."
But as soon as Edward started to speak, out of no where buckets of rain started to fall. Luckily we weren't too far from the ship, Edward took hold of my hand and we start the run towards the ship. Being the klutz I was, I slipped on the grass at the end of the clearing. Luckily Edward was there, catching me just as I was going down.
Edward and I both laughed at the situation, as I blushed with embarrassment, our laughs started to ease. In that very moment, everything around us seemed to have stopped, the rain was suspended in the air, and it seem that nothing else existed apart from the two of us. Edward's smouldering emerald eyes gazed back into mine. He broke our gaze as his eyes fixed on my lips, subconsciously I bit my lower lip, becoming nervous under his intense stare. Our faces were inches apart, and as Edward itched closer and closer, I closed my eyes anticipating the kiss that was about to happen. I felt the warmth of his lips faintly touch mine, thunder crackled down making me jump as well as causing our heads to collide.
The pure moment of bliss was ruined by my fear of thunder. We were brought back to reality, were got back up, and this time, we hurried back to the ship without incident. But to my disappointment Edward didn't mention anything about our almost kiss. He acted as if nothing happened at all, which stung a little. We parted ways going back to our rooms, so that we were able to dry ourselves off.
As we parted ways, I was yanked back into a hug by a strong pair of arms. "Have dinner with me..." he whispered.
I was only able to nod a yes in response. He smiled back at me, kissed my forehead before heading back into his room.
I was so stunned at what had happened, that I completely forgotten that I was in the shower until the water ran cold.
The day was certainly turning out to be better than I had expected. Not only do I have dinner with Edward, Rose was also in a good mood, chattering away dreamily about her 'time' with Emmett today.
Halfway through recounting my day with Edward, I shot up from my seat and realised. "OH MY GOD ROSE! What am I gunna where?!"
I'm sorry guys, it had to happen. I'm not going to let them go off being lovey dovey that easily. But you have to just wait and see what happens in the next chapter ;P
So as always
