Chapter 7
Andy tightened his arms around Prue as the kiss continued to intensify. He had never felt so complete before. They had spent a few years apart in the past, but the last four years had been different. He would lay awake at night knowing that she was in a different realm - somewhere that he couldn't see, touch or hold her. He couldn't run his fingers along her delicate skin, hold her in his arms, or even just hear her voice. That was what he had missed most.
Them being together a few months before his death was one of the best experiences of his life. It could only be topped by their many first moments together as teenagers.
Prue's hands made their way behind his head and she let her nails gently run up and down his back. He didn't want to stop, but there were so many things he still needed to say to her. Especially if there wasn't much time here …
He placed his hands on her hips, prying his lips off of hers. He had so many things to say. He kept his hands on her hips and held her against him while he caught his breath again.
"I've thought of this moment so many times" Andy grinned. "But I can't say I ever pictured it being here".
He looked around, taking in the surroundings.
"Even the dead still can touch and be seen in the ghostly plane" Prue winked at him before lifting a hand to run along his strong jaw line.
"Prue … I've missed you so much" He began. "I have so many things I've wanted to say about mistakes I made when I was alive -"
Prue's finger made it's way to his lips.
"We both made mistakes" Prue whispered. "But we're here now".
She finished her point off with a kiss.
"I'm not sure how long though." His lips tightened and his smile faded. "I'll have to go back to Valhalla soon since your sisters don't need my help."
"You seem to be helping them more than you think, Mr. Trudeau". Prue smiled, pressing herself even closer to him and leaning her head on his chest. Andy could sense the pain he had brought up by mentioning her sisters. It was hiding behind her smile.
"They miss you so much". He stroked her long brown hair affectionately, just like he had after his death.
"I miss them too." Prue whispered into his chest. Andy let a soft kiss fall to the top of her head.
Parlour
Phoebe walked in to see her sister still sprawled out on the wicker loveseat. Chris followed shortly behind, looking a little pale.
"Sweetie, it's a beautiful day outside - what are you doing in here?"
"Something doesn't feel right about the last few days" Paige sighed, lifting herself to sit up properly. "Piper is way too happy, Andy is running around mysteriously, and I just found out that if it weren't for future boy I would have been dead a few days ago".
"Oh, hunny …"
"No, I'm okay. I'm just coming to terms with how quickly our lives can change or end in this family".
Wyatt began to let out a small whimper in his sleep. Both of his aunt's turned quickly to check on him.
He woke up quickly, startled by his dream. His blue eyes searched for his parents and tears began to form when neither was nearby.
"Hey buddy" Paige soothed as she picked up Wyatt from the playpen. She let several kisses fall to his head while positioning him on her hip. Wyatt's bottom lip stuck out and his whimpers continued.
"What's wrong, little man?" Piper chirped as she glided into the room. Her hair was rolled up in to a bun and she was wearing a floral t-shirt that Phoebe owned. Wyatt let out a whimper as his mother took him from Paige's arms.
"Let's get you a snack!" Piper grinned from ear to ear as she made her way towards the kitchen.
Chris let out a sigh. Phoebe could sense tension coming off of the young whitelighter. She could sense more from him. There was anger, love, and frustration. She had never been able to read someone so well just by hearing them sigh.
"Oh!" She gasped, looking over to Paige. She was piecing together all of the emotions she had been feeling the last few days. "We should go check the Book of Shadows to see if there's anything about Piper's mood."
… And perhaps my new power.
"I really think you should be focusing on the next big evil that was unleashed from the Titans coming back". Chris interrupted, earning two confused looks.
"Chris, we're the Charmed Ones … trouble finds us." Paige winked at him before bouncing up the stairs behind Phoebe. Chris bit his bottom lip before orbing away.
Valhalla
Chris orbed in next to Mist as she was pulling her brown leather top piece of her outfit over top of her torso.
"Here, let me help." Chris whispered, running his fingers along the back of her neck before tying the knot for her top.
"Thanks". Mist smiled at him before grabbing a green pendant from the dresser. "If you change your mind, you'll need this to change him if I'm not around."
Chris flashed her a Halliwell grin and orbed away. Seconds after, another woman entered Mist's hut.
Attic
Phoebe and Paige stood beside the book, flipping through the pages.
"I don't see anything here". Paige sighed, closing the book.
Phoebe's hand raised to her chest. She was overwhelmed with lust and passion all of a sudden. She took in a deep breath before sitting herself down on the pink antique couch.
"You okay?" Paige asked, tilting her head to the side to observe her sister.
"Yeah… I'm fine". Phoebe let out a tight sigh. Her heart was racing. She bit her lip, trying not to focus on the emotions she was picking up from someone nearby. "I just haven't felt this way since Cole was around".
Paige's lips tightened. "Cole! He's not back again, is he?!"
"... No, Paige." Phoebe pulled the bottom of her top out and fanned it to get some fresh air. "I think I'm getting a new power."
"What kind of power" Paige asked. "It seems sexy".
Phoebe raised an eyebrow at her sister. "Just before Prue died we had a run in with an empath… I think that's happening to me now."
"So our neighbours must be having fun today!" Paige quipped, looking out the window. "I wonder which ones!"
"Whoever they are, they are certainly very excited to see each other." Phoebe let out another deep breath. "Oh my".
Phoebe truly hadn't felt those types of emotions since Cole. She frequently wondered if she ever would feel them again too. Prue had never been able to connect to someone the same way after Andy.
Chris orbed in, startling his Aunts.
"Everyone okay here?" He could sense the tension in the room just by looking at them.
"We're not sure" Paige responded.
"Chris, am I an empath in the future? Because I sure am feeling a lot of emotions here!"
Chris flashed her a grin. "I think you know the answer to that."
"But Chris, being an empath almost killed Prue!"
"Prue wasn't meant to have that power. Even if you had it then, it would have consumed you."
"What do you mean?" Paige asked, taking a seat beside her sister.
"Our powers are individually ours. Only a power switching spell which grants them magically, like you did to save Leo will prevent harm".
Phoebe nodded. She had seen what extra powers had done to both Prue and Cole.
Piper opened the attic door and strolled in beside Chris.
"Wyatt's sleeping now so I have a little bit of time before I put the muffins in for a snack!" She beamed as she took her place beside Chris. She hit his arm with the back of her hand. "What are your favorite kind of muffins?"
Chris smiled down at her. Piper's chocolate chip and banana muffins were a staple in the Halliwell house when he was growing up. She loved making a fresh batch to cheer him and Wyatt up.
"I don't need muffins right now, thank you". Chris laughed.
"Oh sure you do!"
Phoebe eyed her sister. She could barely sense any emotions off of her sister. Her mind was blank in terms of emotions. "Piper, do you know where Andy went?"
She was trying to get any read off of her sister.
"Nope." She smiled, tilting forwards and backwards on her heels. Phoebe bit her bottom lip, thinking for another moment.
"He'll turn up soon I'm sure". Chris was pretty sure he knew where the inspector was, but couldn't be certain. Either way, the sisters couldn't know yet.
Phoebe wasn't done grilling her sister. "Piper, how's Wyatt? With Leo being gone the past two days and all …"
That struck some emotion. Piper's anger began to surface. Piper felt that Leo was leaving Wyatt like Victor had when they were young. After the fleeting moment, the emotions were gone.
"Wyatt's fine." Piper smiled, turning on her heels and heading towards the door. "Chris! What kind of muffins?"
"Chocolate chip and banana please" He gave in.
"... Wait, who was in the box of Prue's things?" Phoebe asked, looking over to see it pulled out.
Piper turned to look at the cardboard box. That struck another emotion. She was slowly coming back.
An intense wave of sadness hit Phoebe right at her core. It was the same sadness she had felt right after Prue's death. Was Piper still carrying that much pain? It seemed so recent.
Even faster than her emotions for Leo disappeared, the heartache passed yet again. Phoebe felt excitement come off of Piper, then suddenly her brain felt as if it had clouded over.
This new power was still quite unreliable. She thought. Either way, her sister was going through a roller coaster and wasn't herself. It was as if part of her emotions and memories were gone.
"It must have been Andy" Piper grinned before making her way out of the attic finally.
It was Paige's turn to bite her lip. "I feel bad."
"Why?"
"Andy is probably really hurting. He's been on an isolated island with his thoughts, able to escape …"
"And now reminders of her are everywhere?" Phoebe finished for her sister. "I know sweetie, but Andy likes to keep busy."
Chris cleared his throat. "Andy's a tough guy. He'll be okay, don't worry."
Phoebe raised an eyebrow. "Future knowledge, or are you just very perceptive?"
Chris rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, unsure of how to answer the question.
Ghostly Plane
Prue handed Andy his black t-shirt as she lay curled up in the blanket watching him dress.
"Well, I think this was the only room we never did that in".
Andy flashed her his trademark grin. "We've certainly explored the whole house."
"Grams was good, but we were better at finding hiding spots."
Andy chuckled, handing Prue her jeans before taking a seat on the antique couch.
"Man, was I ever terrified of her. I saw her the other day and I was still a little nervous."
Prue laughed, stepping closer to Andy as she began to do up the buttons on her white blouse. Andy reached for her hand, pulling her into his lap.
"Here, let me" he whispered, closing the remaining buttons for her. He took his time, letting several kisses fall to the back of her neck.
"Thanks" she whispered back, kissing him gently on the lips. She ran her fingers along his strong jaw line, enjoying every moment. "You should get back".
"Maybe they haven't noticed?" Andy laughed, tightening his grip on her waist.
Prue smiled. "Piper's going to need you. Leo cast a spell on her."
"What kind?"
"Just to help her get over the pain. He's just trying to help". Prue hadn't anticipated her brother in law casting a spell on her sister after deciding not to dust her. She was less than pleased, but at least Andy could help her through the fog.
"I brought her back after seeing what happened up there. It wasn't pretty." Prue tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ears. "She doesn't remember anything".
"How do I get her back?"
"She is going to come back slowly. I just need you to get her there sooner." Prue smiled, capturing Andy's lips one more time. Prue had been inquiring around the magical community and something was brewing. And it seemed like something she needed her sisters to be on their A-game for.
"Will do …" Andy was about to continue when a blue portal opened up on the side of the attic wall. It was in the shape of a triquetra.
Prue was on her feet instantly, standing protectively in front of Andy.
Andy stood up behind her. "Do you normally get visitors?"
"... Not like this." Prue seethed as two men wearing all black came out of the portal. One was holding a darklighter crossbow and the other had his brown hair pulled into a tight ponytail.
The two men looked just as confused as Prue and Andy.
"Andy, you have to go. They can't hurt me but they can hurt you with that" Prue whispered out of the corner of her mouth. One of the men caught Andy's name.
"Andrew Trudeau?" His brow quirked up before his eyes landed on Prue. "That makes you Prudence …"
"Okay … now we worry". Prue whispered back to Andy. She continued to stand in front of him, but his hands fell protectively to her shoulders.
The man holding the darklighter crossbow flashed them a sly grin before lifting the crossbow into the air, aiming directly at Prue. "Me?!"
Within an instant, the arrow was making it's way towards her. Andy pushed her aside and Prue reacted quickly, seeing the arrow only inches away from Andy's shoulder. Using her power of telekinesis, she sent the arrow back at the man. It pierced through his chest and he let out a deep howl before disappearing into flames. The second man's eyes widened and he shimmered away.
