"Hi." Clary sat down and shook her client's cold, outstretched hand. "I believe you're about to purchase Hell's Loose?"

It felt odd seeing a client without Jace. Boring, even. And it felt weird that Jace didn't know about the client, but her job was her job.

At the client's nod, she smiled. "Well, as you know, I'm here to confirm any doubts or questions you might have about Hell's Loose. Anything you'd like to tell me, or ask me before I begin a quick run through of our product?"
The woman, Mrs. Burlock, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Yes. I was just wondering, I know your company and Morgenstern Circle leased a new software together only months ago. That product is a success. Why are you only leasing this new software to a few companies and not on the market yet? Are you afraid Morgenstern Circle will find out?"
WhattheIthoughtnoonewassupposedtoknowthat.Isitthatobvious?

"No," Clary chuckled, "of course not. Shadowhunter Academy and Morgenstern Circle are on the best of terms right now. This product you are viewing will be on the market shortly. We're selling it to a few people as a preview. As I will explain, if you decide to purchase Hell's Loose, we are hoping you'll review for us. Like a book review. A few special individuals get to read it first, and they review afterwards, so readers know what's in store, and whether or not to buy it."

Good thing Luke and Jocelyn had prepared her well.

Luckily, Mrs. Burlock seemed content with her answer, and Clary began her show, feeling as bored and lonely as ever.

Clary stopped in front of the long hallway leading to her office and slipped off her high heels. She slung them in one hand and tiptoed slowly toward the door.

She placed one hand on the doorknob and turned it slowly, making as little noise as possible, and slipped inside. Jace was seated facing the computer, busily typing something. Turning around, she tried to close the door silently.

The freaking door creaked. She froze.

"Well, you've finally arrived." His sarcastic voice droned. He whirled around in his chair and tapped his wrist. "You're late. One hour and seventeen minutes, to be exact."

Lifting her chin haughtily, Clary ignored him, placing her shoes on the ground and slipping into them as if it walking around barefoot at work was a perfectly normal thing to do.

Jace raised an eyebrow. "Want to explain this fancy outfit you have on? A special occasion? Another date with Sebastian?"

She sat down and smiled thinly. "You don't like it?" The flowery pencil skirt clung tightly to her hips and legs, following her curves.

Hot blood poured into her cheeks as Jace's eyes racked over her, a hungry light in his eyes. He stared straight at her when he said, "I like it better off."

"In your dreams," she laughed, spinning to face her computer and typing in her password. A moment later, the clicking frenzy from his computer started, and both of them passed into silence, working.

She had just sent a quick email to Jocelyn, detailing the success of her patient, when the door creaked open. Clary spun around. "Kaelie."

"Jace, these are for you," she purred, swinging her hips suggestively as she slinked over to Jace, placing a single letter on his desk. Clary glared at her curves. Stupid busty woman.

Then she noticed how Kaelie's shirt was unbuttoned. Way, way too low. And she noticed how Kaelie was leaning over, so that they were in full advantage.

Ew.

The most disgusting thing: the purple throng that was peeking out of the too short skirt.

Kaelie draped herself over Jace's chair and tousled his hair. A finger slid down, past his ears, following the outline of his jaw. She didn't stop. The finger turned into a hand, and that slid onto his shoulder, down his chest, closer and closer to his belt buckle.

Getyourhandsoffmyman.

Clary wanted to scream. Why wasn't Jace doing anything? He was still busily typing.

Kaelie smirked grotesquely, and Clary's eyes narrowed as the blonde's finger slid lower, until it rested at the top of his pants. At that moment, Jace jumped in surprise, turned his head, and pushed so hard away from Kaelie that she toppled over.

"The fuck?" He growled.

His PA stayed on the ground a little longer, pouting up at Jace. She obviously knew that her lacy throng was in full view.

"Out. Get the fuck out." Jace glared. "I've got a girlfriend now, so your job's done."

Kaelie's eyes grew wide in shock. "B-but Jace!" Her lower lip trembled.

"O-u-t."

The moment the door slammed, Clary grabbed Jace by his collar and crushed her lips to him, kissing him fiercely, shoving her tongue in his mouth. She could tell he was surprised, but he kissed her back invitingly.

Bastard.Lettingherplayyoulikethat.Whodoesn'tnoticewhenaskankisalloveryou?

She pulled away slightly, caught his bottom lip between her teeth, and bit down, hard. And broke the kiss without sucking it better.

There. She'd made her mark on him.

Jace stared up at her, panting, obviously offset by her sudden animalistic behavior, and she felt a weirdly satisfied. He licked his bruised lip. "Damn. That was sexy."

A rush of heat flared between her legs at the word. She swallowed.

No, this was going to be her giving him the ride. Not the opposite way around.

"You haven't seen anything yet," she said in a low voice, quickly undoing his buttons to lay her hand flat on his burning skin. She bent her head, and, breaking all the rules she'd set up, kissed him, traveling down his neck, biting and sucking while he threw his head back, groaning. Whether he knew it or not, he was holding her head against him, urging her to kiss everywhere.

Hmm, Jace really like having his neck pushed.

His other hand skated down her body and settled on her butt. Pushy, but she let it stay there.

She moved down, past his collarbone, and licked a slow circle around his nipple.

Jace jerked, his hand leaving her butt and thrusting into her hair, trying to drag her up. She refused, going down again to the other one, licking slowly, feeling the pounding heartbeat right below her. On impulse, she pressed a kiss to his heart.

Something hard was pressed against her stomach. She looked down, and it looked like his pants were about to burst. Smiling slyly up at him, she went on her knees before him. Jace shuddered, and the intent was written clearly in his eyes.

"You've had desk sex with Kaelie before," she growled, unsnapping his jeans in a second, not caring if it was a bit sudden. Jace hissed.

"Let's see if I'm better."

Jace sat, sweatdrops gleaming on his forehead, in front of his computer screen. His cheeks were flushed, his eyes were a bit too bright, and his hair was tousled. A few buttons were sprayed on the floor, but most were intact with his buttoned shirt.

He'd have to get another one. Again. Clary could go through all his shirts in a week at the rate she was going.

He stared blankly at his computer screen, not processing the important email that he'd procrastinated on, which was supposed to be due to Valentine any second.

Clary had just had sex with him. Desk sex. Holy-shit-mind-blowing-fuck-me-senseless-desk sex.

He slid a sideways look at her. She was sitting perfectly straight, her hair fine, and she was typing rapidly. She was undisturbed. Perfectly fine.

Damn.

Jace blew out a breath. Still shocked.

The girl was good. Hella good. As good as he was.

The kitchen table tonight. Oh, man, definitely.

Maybe Kaelie was good for something: Making Clary jealous.
