Sorry this one took so long. There are several reasons for this: (1) I wasn't doing as well as I should have been doing in school (2) I wanted to process this idea a bit more (3) … Actually, that's about it. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it!
With the Conqueror having been conquered by the Ylissean League, the Shepherds and the Resistance are celebrating with a massive feast in Valm Castle's dining hall. There were stacks of food everywhere consisting on various dishes including turkeys, large fish, collections of different fruits and vegetables, bowls of rice, tempura and so much more. Chrom was sitting at one end of the table with Robin and Say'ri on each side of him.
"I won't lose to you!" Sully said as she started scarfing down.
"Oh yeah? We'll see about that!" Vaike shouted as he did the same.
"Count me in on this, too!" Morgan said as she joined the eating contest, too.
"Heh, eat as much as you want, kid." Sully said. "You deserve it. I gotta say, Robin, your kid really got us out of a jam back there."
"How so?" Robin asked. His skin was still sensitive from the burns he received earlier.
"Not long after the doors closed shut, they were about to send out reinforcements from underground." Morgan said between bites. "So I opened the front gate to allow the others to get out while I stayed behind. When the enemy got into position, I blasted the rope for the chandelier and they came crashing down on them."
"And that took out some troops, limited their movements and allowed us to take them out more efficiently." Robin said.
"She's a chif off the olf blof." Lissa said while she was eating voraciously.
"Please, mind your manners, milady." Frederick said as he was cleanly and politely ate his food and patted a napkin on his mouth. "Take from my example."
"If I do, I'd be a stick in the mud with no sense of humor." Lissa retorted.
"Robin, are you sure you're okay to be here?" Say'ri asked.
"I just have to watch out for people who want to give me a pat on the back." Robin answered. "Sitting here and eating is completely fine as long as that doesn't happen."
"I made sure of that!" Maribelle said. She was sitting two seats away from Lissa with Vaike in between the two. "Remember, Robin, you need to check in with me before you go to sleep tonight."
"I remember, Maribelle." Robin said before lightly rubbing the back of his head. "When I said it wasn't needed, you whacked me with your parasol."
"We're just glad you're still alive and well, Robin." Chrom said. "But let's not worry about that right now."
"You're right, Chrom." Robin said before taking a swig of ale.
Later that night, pretty much everyone was drunk and asleep except for Say'ri. She was carefully stepping around anyone lying on the ground instead of being passed out in their bedrooms. After making her way through the piles of Shepherds and Resistance soldiers, she finally made it to the door of the room where Robin was staying and knocked on it. When the door was opened by Robin, she could see that he was really drunk with his body swaying and his eyes drooping.
"Say'ri!" He exclaimed with a slur. "What a pleasant surprise to see you here!"
"Oh, I'm sorry." She said. "I wasn't aware you were tipsy. I'll just speak with you tomorrow morning when we leave."
"No, that's not necessary." Robin said. "Please, come in. All the other men have company in their rooms, so why shouldn't I?"
"Uh, I feel tis a bit too soon for that." Say'ri was now blushing.
"I didn't mean it like that. I just want you to stay for the night… Er, we won't do anything. Well, we can talk, but… Eh, I'm drunk so you probably have a better idea of what I mean."
"R-right…"
"I'm sorry to ask you this, but could you help walk me to my bed? I can hardly keep my balance."
"Sure."
Robin wrapped his arm around Say'ri's shoulders as she helped him up and walked him to his bed. When they reached his bed, Robin lost his balance and fell. Since he was holding onto Say'ri, he pulled her down with him and the two ended up on the bed with her on top of him. The closeness made both of them blush, but when Robin looked down his face became even more red. Say'ri looked down and noticed that Robin's hand was pressed up against her breast, which prompted an instinctual reaction of standing straight up and covering her chest with her arms.
"I-I'm sorry!" Robin panicked. "It was an accident!"
"I… I know you're just drunk and dizzy." Say'ri said, still very flustered.
"Before you go, may I ask you something?" Robin asked. "When we arrive in the next town for rest, can we… Um…"
Robin took a few moments to gather and clear his thoughts before speaking again.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" Robin asked.
"R-Robin…"
"I'm sorry! If that's out of line, then we don't-"
"I'd love that."
"… Huh? W-well, that's only if Chrom allows us to take a break on the way back to Valm Harbor."
"I understand."
Say'ri left the room and Robin was left alone.
"… Oh boy…" Robin said before running toward the bathroom to the room he was in.
He went over to the toilet and started blowing chunks into it.
"BLEEEEEGH!" Robin groaned as he vomited. "I'm never drinking ale again. BWAARRGH!"
The next morning, all the Shepherds, including Say'ri, were prepared to leave Valm Castle on horseback.
"Are we packed and saddled?" Chrom asked everyone. "Our business in Valm is finished, but we have another task ahead. One perhaps even more dire than we faced here… To Valm Harbor! Then to Ylisstol!"
As everyone began marching, Robin looked back at Say'ri and blushed.
*I can't believe I did that while I was drunk…* Robin thought as he turned his face back forward and scratched the back of his head. *But… maybe that's for the best…*
A/N: Sorry this chapter is so short, but I think I kept you guys waiting long enough. Next chapter will be a date between Robin and Say'ri and we can finally start calling the pairing official. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed it! Stay tuned for next time! And Happy New Year!
